221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ECA] Electra ⚡ | POW/POS | NIST5 | Super Rewards Bonanza on: June 23, 2017, 12:56:27 AM
So my Electra.conf is
Code:
rpcuser=someuser
rpcpassword=somepass
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=2222
daemon=1
server=1
addnode=78.46.142.25:5817
addnode=82.211.31.215:5817
addnode=96.33.131.50:50429
addnode=173.254.204.74:40856
addnode=185.150.154.52:18663
addnode=86.180.82.170:49395
addnode=217.77.59.45:52194

the wallet is the new one!

I launch it and it says 18116 blocks remaining. I'm doing something wrong here?

All I did was copy and pasted what Euroline posted into a Electra.conf and nothing else and it is syncing with the new blocks.

Just for my understanding... Are we saying it's a bad idea to set autoexchange currency to BTC because it costs more in transfer fees?

If I did set my payout currency to, say, DGB, would that not imply more transaction fees as the pool would have to square the balances against a large currency first before exchanging them to DGB?

No I was mistaken.  The pool pays the transfer fees on payout.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: June 23, 2017, 12:51:31 AM
When mining DGB - Skein.....is there any advantage to setting difficulty directly in miner?

Difficulty only will limit the amount of bandwidth and server load as a result of your mining.  Usually what I do is use vardiff for an hour or two and then whatever the difficulty that it settles at is the fixed diff that I use.  You're looking to set it where you'll be sending roughly 10-15 shares per minute usually.

This difficulty will not affect your hashrate.

Looks legit to me.

Wallet is syncing.  Put stuff that Euroline posted in an Electra.conf in your wallet directory.

can someone help me with setting up the "Payment Address:"?

I tried my BTC wallet but it wont accept it - I get an Invalid address error\

thank you in advance

You put in the wallet address of the coin you are mining.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: June 22, 2017, 03:58:50 PM
Still no deposits on Yobit.  This is looking super clean and organized...

If YoBit sync is now at block 1863797
Couple of questions you need to ask yourself.

What is current height of maxcoin blockchain?
which block is my deposit transaction on?
Then you will know when to get concerned.

I'm not concerned, IF I get to trade my maxcoin it's all bonus.  Prior to this it was a dead coin with no exchanges trading it so basically worthless.

Where do you see the sync level of the blockchain on Yobit?

If this coin is coming back someone should probably update the marketcoincap.com with a links that don't go directly to the fake site that you claim.  Including a working blockchain explorer.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/maxcoin/

Website links to http://www.maxcoin.co.uk/
Explorer links to http://explorer.maxcoin.co.uk/chain/Maxcoin

I have no connections to this coins past what-so-ever, but when the main coin page on the biggest market cap site links to that site it's easy to understand why people are being directed there.

Ive tried running DGB-Groestl with ccminer (tried a bunch of different versions). But im always getting an insane amount of rejects. Mainly because of low diff rate. Never had such problems with DGB-Skein. Can someone help me out?

You likely need to use Myriad-Groestl or myr-gr as that is usually what DGB-Groestl pools accept for hashes since it is about 45% faster.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Zpool.ca: Does it take 20-22% fee? on: June 21, 2017, 03:34:07 AM
I'd hope that it is all together or something, but it seems like no matter where I mine I'm getting about the same returns regardless of what coin I'm mining for my hashrate or not.

Having 7-1080's and 1-1080Ti, it seems like all I can get is about $60/day whether I mine pure Skein DGB, multi-algo on zpool, or something else.  MPH doesn't seem to offer much different and take a lot longer to move things between the transfer to exchange, on exchange, and moving back to my wallet on MPH.  Not to mention MPH seems a lot harder to know what returns you can expect being spread across so many different coins and exchanging.  Only real benefit there seems to be that I can convert it to ETH which will likely gain more than BTC will in the near future anyways.  Hell I got a bunch of maxcoin on MPH since I didn't realize that Keccak only mined that up and there were no exchanges to trade it on.  $60/day is fine really, but I expected that I might be able to get more.

Hi Z,
Does Feather coin works? What is the Password? Is it c=Feather or what. I am getting wrong info like this: Pool 0 is sending mismatched block contents to us (0 is
not 2-3)

If you want to get paid in Feathercoin I'd presume it is c=FTC.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Zpool.ca: Does it take 20-22% fee? on: June 21, 2017, 12:41:40 AM
I think people also have to realize is how much is going to BTC transfer fees.  They are close to $10 per transfer at this point and the minimum payout every 12 hours is .01 BTC or about $25-29 dollars.  That's upto 30-40% of your earnings if you get your payout in BTC.  This alone could be the cause of people's complaints and not really the pools fault.  This would be true of any pool that pays out in BTC.

Perhaps an option to allow for more delayed payouts in BTC would allow for better returns.

Any particular reason that Verge coin seems to have several orphaned blocks?
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: █▓▒░-< [ZPOOL.CA][HashTap™][FlexFee™] The miners multipool >-░▒▓█ on: June 20, 2017, 06:31:08 PM
mining with qubit algo and having user: <ESP2 address> and pwd c=ESP2 is not working anymore.
I changed to X11 before and something happened where roughly 40k of ESP2 dissapeared from the balance section.
@crackfoo could you please check what happened?
I'm happy to put my miner back to the pool once this is clarified.
tried other coins with options C=symbol... it's not working anymore on my side. pitty. looks like KURT for example is working. ESP2 is defunct...
now the balance for ESP2 is back again. thx for fixing the issue. whatever it was...

nova was disabled... thus every coin that is on there is worth nothing. It should still be disabled since they're not replying to email support, I'll give them another 24h and well... after that hmq1725 may disappear since all the coins on there are only on nova.

Is that also why Cakeslices and Join are worth 0?

*edit*  Actually I just noticed they are showing they are worth something now.  As you can see in my screenshot above they were giving 0
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: █▓▒░-< [ZPOOL.CA][HashTap™][FlexFee™] The miners multipool >-░▒▓█ on: June 20, 2017, 04:28:46 PM
Wow I'm an idiot and just realized why I was taking a hit on my earnings.   I just transferred BTC from my normal wallet to Poloniex and realized it was a $10 fee.  That's like 10-20% of my daily earnings right there.

I'm going to try switching to paying out in a different coin and see how things go.

Otherwise could we maybe get a higher payout threshold so we wouldn't get paid out quite as frequently and save on transfer fees?
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on a Geforce 1080 on: June 20, 2017, 03:43:27 PM
Oh its' one of those Mini-ITX cards that's why it runs much hotter.   Running the fan at 90% isn't going to burn the card out any faster, but the fan might fail eventually.  Plus they're usually much louder above like 75%.

Not much you can do with a card like that other than maybe put a fan outside your case blowing onto the fan from outside.

Curious why we would be mining up Cakeslices and Join under Nist5 if they are paying out 0.

Man how long does it take to sync that blockchain?

Yeah the option there in wallets.  Remember to turn off hide 0 balance and search for MAX
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on a Geforce 1080 on: June 20, 2017, 02:35:20 PM

Set the temp limit to 69c yet the temp goes to 81c. Any idea why ?

What's the inside of your case look like?  Seems like you likely have bad airflow.  Although your fan speed looks like it is pretty low for that temp.  I'd expect with the default settings in MSI to have your fan speed at like 75% when you are at 80C+

Click the settings and then the Fan tab and check the custom curve and raise your fan speeds for higher temps.  If you take it off auto and set the speed to 100% does the temp come down?  Also turn your machine off and make sure you don't have a broken fan blade.  Even one fin missing caused one of my cards to have 20C higher temps compared to my other cards.  Finally took the card out and realized it was missing a fin off the middle fan on the card.  Replaced the fan and it came down to normal ranges

I think this was discussed a little bit, at least the second image. I think the reject hash rate is graphing on a different scale?

Yeah it seems to be.  A single rejected share seems like it can cause a very large spike on the graph.  I've looked at my miner logs and I occasionally get a rejected share near the start of hashing, but my graphs look similar.
