221  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: **UPDATED** Current P2Pool Server List on: August 30, 2013, 12:51:22 PM
I nixed my LTC pool since nobody used it in like 10 days, but I guess it was never listed anyways.

I have a quarkcoin pool up now at nogleg.com:8372, 0% fee, 0% donation.  Though not sure if it'd be considered p2pool in the classical sense?  It's running as a solo pool

If it's running as a 'regular' pool, I think the best place for that one would be: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104664.0
222  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: **UPDATED** Current P2Pool Server List on: August 28, 2013, 12:04:56 PM
I think it would also be important for the pools to list their bitcoind limitations.
Some p2pools are configured to limit transactions drastically on the Bitcoin network and thus are bad for Bitcoin.

hmm, that'd actually be nice if p2pool pulled the bitcoind information on maxblocksize, fees, etc and posted it on the web page somewhere

How about I put in a paragraph on the P2Pool guide.  Also, some things are best left untouched.  gmaxwell and I had this conversation via IRC the other day that 'less is more' in terms of -flags and arguments, because those are put there mostly for situations that would require tweaking, where as most people shouldn't need to change much if any at all.  But if you all want, I'll add a paragraph about this all in the initial post and link to the P2Pool Guide.
If you read the p2pool thread, it's not rare for people to change these settings ... so a comment about it is rather pointless.

zvs's idea is actually the best suggestion I've heard.

... gmaxwell's comments are clearly pointless if that's was all he came up with ...

Very true that people do use them, however, he is right for the most part.  He is right in the sense that the developer spent more time thinking about whatever flag you're wanting to turn on... say --max-cons or --outgoing-conns those two flags alone, don't you think forrestv spent more than a few minute thinking on what would be the most ideal situations need?  Sure there are extreme instances where those two flags would need to be modified.

As for the Bitcoind Blocksize and txfee  and p2pool fee, those are up to the user.  I'd hope you'd also take those into account as well that the makers of Bitcoind (Satoshi and the continuing devs..) have put some thought into it.   Saying gmaxwell is pointless is basically giving forrestv and the devs of Bitcoind a slap in the face, BECAUSE THEY DESIGNED AND ARE WORKING ON IT!!!  Smiley

Rant over.. Smiley

Update.  Anyone have a pool that needs modified in listings or added/removed?

I'm concerned people are going to see this:

Adelaide, Australia | http://cryptominer.org:9332 | 1.0% | BTC | CryptoMiner | daemondazz

and get upset that it's actually configured as a pool with 100% fee and 0.25BTC payout threshold. Can you add a note like: "Operating as pool, see http://cryptominer.org/bitcoin/"?

Also, I have a litecoin node running as well:

Adelaide, Australia | http://cryptominer.org:9327 | 1.0% | LTC | CryptoMiner | daemondazz

Added note to listing and also added your LTC node.

yes, good call - important to note the difference.

Agreed.

227  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining on P2Pool-style Pool -- NO FEES!! -- on: August 27, 2013, 10:02:15 PM
whats the hash of the pool?

Moving towards 7 GH/s  need more people. Smiley

Hash rate is slowly going up, share's are coming in earlier than expected, so it's yielding a high efficiency output.  We could use all the miners we can get, CPU/GPU/FPGA/ASIC -ALL- accepted!

Seriously, if anyone is a newbie to this, please do not hesitate to ask away!

I do have Skype available for those who do need help.

Closing thread.  I will just wait, since no one wants to lend a measly 0.2 BTC.

Why not change your title to "Mining on P2Pool-style pool"

Sure, updated and added that there are no fees.
231  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a loan on: August 27, 2013, 03:39:05 PM
Whoever lends me the 0.2 BTC, I have no active or outstanding loans to anyone else.  I will pay you the first 0.2 BTC I get along with interest, just let me know how much interest you'll be charging.  10% I think is a fair rate, so 0.22 BTC repayment amount.

EDIT: 10% weekly interest.

Update.
233  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a loan on: August 27, 2013, 03:21:57 PM
But if I send you 0.2 btc, what will prevent you to never pay me back?

I'm an active member on this community.. and I'm not about to lose rep over $23.66.. if it comes down to the "I need payment today.." I will buy the BTC with USD.  I don't want to have to do that, but I will if need be.

EDIT: Also, if you'd like I will PM you my phone number and I can call you if you wish, to verify who I am and so hopefully that will calm your nerves and also discuss repayment.

How many btc are you mining evey day?
I'd like some easy collateral, and not sending item by post.

Where do you live?

I'd prefer to disclose that information privately via PM (location, name, phone number, etc..) But as far as mining goes, it depends on the variance of P2Pool.. Here is my Blockchain.info information:

236  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a loan on: August 27, 2013, 02:55:45 PM
Do you have any previous loans? Collateral?

I have some trust but small amount.  Like I said I'd be willing to do the 0.2BTC and if you're interested in loan PM me and I can give you my phone number and such.

EDIT:

Never had asked for a loan before, so new to this, but I always pay back my debts.
237  Economy / Lending / Need a loan on: August 27, 2013, 02:51:01 PM
I'm looking to finish the expansion of my set of block eruptors.  I need 5 more, making it a total of 2.5 BTC however, to start small, I'm currently 0.2 BTC away from being able to buy my 3rd one.

So.. The loan is one of the following:

A.)
Loan for 0.2 BTC + Interest (Please include interest amount per week, as I am trying not to use my USD for my mining equipment..)

B.)
Loan for 2.5 BTC to complete my set, perhaps multiple or single investors but a longer timeline payment plan w/ interest on a monthly scale.

In either scenario, I would be paying weekly whatever BTC I have.  Currently I'm hashing at 6.5 GH/s so I do make some BTC.

If someone wants to pick up plan A.) please post below and send me a PM with details, please no 100% interest or something absurd.
If someone or multiple people would like to pick up plan B.) PM me and we can work out any details to satisfy your needs to ensure you'll be repaid.

As of right now, I'd be happy with a 0.2 BTC loan, but am wanting to finish the BE set, even though they may not be worth it.. they're cool, I have the 7 Port USB hub and am building a custom case for them to be installed in with fans and vent holes on the opposite side.

Thanks for reading! Smiley

i've had litecoin up @ http://nogleg.com:9327/static/ for a while now as well

unless it becomes standard to note the donation %'s, I guess no real reason to have it on mine.  to me it implies that other pools are  at 0%.  maybe it should only be noted if it's above 1%

The reason I have it listed is simply for the fact that some people including noobs would like to know it's set at 0 or not.
239  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: **UPDATED** Current P2Pool Server List on: August 27, 2013, 11:40:29 AM
Notice to others: The noirpool852.no-ip.biz is current down for a while due to maintenance and planning issues.

Estimated date for up: In october,2013

I'll be taking you off the list for the time being since that is a ways away.  Once you have it back up and running, please send me a PM. Smiley

我不会挖矿啊

Translate said you're not mining.  Are you getting an error message or something?  Please elaborate some so I or others can help.
