221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: March 02, 2017, 07:49:05 PM
Max and Oliver stated during the ICO that their motivation to fork Crypti was the unacceptably slow rate of progress of that project, that it was taking far too long to get to the market, and that they were deeply frustrated by it. That is what really hacks me off about their conduct with Lisk, a project that will clearly take even longer to reach the market than Crypti.

During the ICO?

Olivier and Max leave Crypti to establish Lisk! - January 30, 2016

Welcome to Lisk. This is us. - February 1, 2016

If you've read that then you'll know there were several reasons for Max and Oliver to establish Lisk

are you a native English speaker?

Kordek with friends sleeping on 10k? 14k? BTC and lack of progress and serious development in Lisk leading to "Asshole" and "SCAM" words very easy.

People who write something like this have no manners. And in reality they are selfless little assholes, sorry this is my opinion.

Kordek took so much BTC for project and cannot develop Lisk properly.

He is wasting 2nd time (first was Crypti!) people's money, faith, time, and you are talking about manners? Shocked

OMG I see something like Stockholm syndrome. Rare in crypto, mostly in bagholders denial.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome

WAKE UP, you are wasting energy with Lisk. There're many better projects to be part of it as a investor, trader, coder or pr guy.

It's really sad, you must wake up, Lisk is not good, Lisk is fail for now... Maybe will reborn like phoenix but don't bet on that too easy...

"Stockholm syndrome" - it has that feeling about it. The fund is so large that they have become mesmerised by it, and possibly corrupted in their thinking by it.

inflation is too high.
delegates reward is too high.
voting power is too concentrated.
price is too low.
development is too slow.
CEO lacks necessary experience, and displays a worrying complacency.
PR is amateurish.
the fund may even be too big. where's the 'hunger' for success when you can string out a project "for years to come" and live a comfortable life in Berlin without producing a finished product that turns a profit?

WTF is lightcurve and why did Lisk pay them €200k??! Huh Huh Huh

Sounds like a shell company to launder their Bitcoin money through if you ask me.

scary possibility. it's not a transparent entity. we have no idea where the money is going.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: February 28, 2017, 08:17:26 PM
Lisk team your time table for planning/building the SDK is way too long. Why not hire additional coders to get this done within a couple months?

Because then they wouldn't be able to pay themselves their high wages for the rest of their lives Smiley.

and perhaps not all of the fund is in reality available to authentically spend. who knows what arrangements were in place at the beginning of the ICO with BTC whales, leading the charge with their oversized donations to suck others in. 10,000 BTC is now in long term cold storage, which is odd when the pace of development should be set to the maximum.

generally speaking is a blockchain project (any project) considered to be in a healthy state if the value of its development fund is greater than its market cap?
what are its implications for the vitality of a project's total ecosystem going forward?
The future is bright is what the implications are... this is the beginning.
Bitcoin went up, alts went down.
I suppose you have some wild tinfoil theory?

'tinfoil' theory - that's a new phrase to me. what does it mean?

i'm still not getting the impression that LiskHQ has a clear vision of what the platform and business model will be.

i hear there are brainstorming sessions. do they know what they're are trying to build?

PoW vs DPoS:
Contrary to popular belief, 101 single-purpose servers are far more decentralized than thousands of miners lumped on a few mining pools;
not to mention the fact that with PoW, you have an ongoing arms race to become the most powerful miner,
leading to an ever increasing energy consumption of the whole network bottlenecked through these pools.
The Lisk Network has no such difficulty adjustments, and is extremely eco-friendly.
Every pool is just 1 server in the network, not a bottleneck.

In POW paying for electricity, in DPOS paying for infinite inflation and a large amount of new forged tokens(3,15M new forged lsk in per year with almost free cost price). How you can save money in DPOS? I don't see any advantages in DPOS with such inflation.

But what about the sidechains when Lisk projects are released?

The move is, in fact, a precursor to a complete rewrite of Lisk’s SDK code base, which according to the press release is still at the conceptual stage.

pooling, forging rewards, and inflation are being discussed this evening on Lisk chat. there will be changes.

Why does the lisk team keep going back around to changing DPoS?

The current system works as it was designed to work.

The Lisk Team should be working 100% on getting that SDK rebuilt as thats the only thing that will pull this turd of a coin out of it's death spiral.

head over to Lisk chat. the idea of reform is gaining traction.

so lisk should be a game for whales?
if whales lose their interest in lisk, then lisk is gone.

thats a problem of POS and it is even bigger with dpos.

the responsibility of Team Lisk is to keep them interested...by getting on with building the network tout suite.

@nyanhtet, @s0nix  Don't feed the trolls, i know it is a campaign, and you actually kill them every time, but you know that is not right way.

i'm not feeding, but there's no need for such a campaign. the price is already in the toilet.

I'd really love to see the lisk foundation fund a second client led by an independent team. The progress has been too slow and I'm honestly as frustrated as you guys here.

By looking at commits in Github, I don't know what Oliver does all day. It looks like he stops coding and does other things. Max has a lot of money to hire competent developers.
For example, if Max who buy from the team or are looking for people from outside to replace Oliver, but not recklessly to choose someone not, must be truly reliable ..

Has something happened to Oliver? He's been completely absent from Lisk chat, community meetings,...

I did some analyse about the broadhash consensus and compared the previous version 0.5.2 with our current version 0.6.0 - our developers did a great job!

Max, Oliver you should distribute byteballs to lisk holders.

Yes, they want to do something positive for the holders. But at the time they do not know quite well and wait for the advice of lawyers.

positive for the holders? living up to their own hype would be a good start.

nice idea. is there a strategy that can make that happen?

what progress?

correct me if i'm wrong.

when Max launched the ICO he said that the project would be run as a transparent non-profit with minimal salaries and benefits. i think he said that in this thread.

now it's the exact opposite. there's a for profit private company with zero transparency, a black box. there's no opportunity to know what salaries are being paid (market rate or excessive), no public contract tendering, and no accountability. i don't think people participated in the ICO on this basis. it feels like a clear case of deception.

perhaps i'm being unkind, but this has to be said.

Lisk Foundation

We are excited to announce the successful registration of the Lisk Stiftung, a non-profit foundation based in Zug, Switzerland. With the legal framework in place, it paves the way for a new beginning for the Lisk project. With the registration we now have guaranteed access to the ICO funding for hiring of employees, promotions and marketing campaigns, a full re-branding and future conference attendances.

Blog Post - read more

but with the new German company the project has now gone 'dark', the exact opposite of the written commitment Max made during the ICO.

his reward was to be 4 million Lisk, with a modest market rate salary to keep him housed, fed, and clothed.
