You are in luck because the hacker didn't delete your post showing your btc address in this thread. If you can sign message using the address 17imuVay6egL6jA8UqLgihyR4tFtkUKir8 please do it immediately. After doing so pm it to Cyrus or theymos and follow the format given on this thread. After that be patient, and wait 7 months at most and pm them from time to time.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How cryptocurrencies emerged as a side product of digital cash on: April 26, 2018, 08:27:36 PM
To realize digital cash you need a payment network with accounts, balances, and transaction.

Not quite, Bitcoin has neither accounts nor balances Wink

It's just transactions all the way down...

Bitcoin has neither accounts nor balances, but it is not transaction all the way down. Bitcoin(and other cryptocurrencies as well) have wallet, which is used instead of accounts, with a designated address to send  and receive coins which can be controlled by using the private key. It also got blockchain that helps it successfully finish one cycle of transaction and block explorer to track the transaction's progress.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is keeping your money on Coinbase really that bad? on: April 26, 2018, 01:37:58 PM
TDIL Coinbase insures money lost from physical security, cyber attacks, and employee theft. they keep 98% of their funds offline. So back to my original point, is it really that important to keep your money off exchanges if they offer insurance and you personally make sure that your account isnt vulnerable to phone attacks? https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/1662379-how-is-coinbase-insured-
Even if you have insurance, you can pretty much lose your balance when coinbase becomes fucked up(closed, and many more scenarios like what others points out). In fact, making sure your account is vulnerable or not is just one way to keep your funds safe from other users, but not to coinbase owners. It is still better to store big funds on a software wallet generated offline or a hardware wallet(like what others suggest) but in my case anything will do so long as you own and control your private key.
224  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin newbie looking for some advice on: April 26, 2018, 01:06:06 PM
would you advise throwing in a hundred or two now, or wait and see if the market crashes slightly? I’m only 20 and in school, so I don’t really think I should be investing more than I’m willing to lose
I advise you throw a hundred or two now since there is no real good buying point unless market has shown a bearish trend for a while. Nevertheless, do not invest all of your planned capital for your investment so that you can buy again at every dips. Always remember to buy every time price goes down by 1000$ or more so that when it spikes back, you will have a profit already. Better yet, hold those bitcoins long term and sell it after 2 years, price difference then and now would significantly be huge.
225  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto world vs Fulltime job? to establish better life. on: April 26, 2018, 12:36:03 PM
What are the best advice that you may give to me. should I reject the fulltime job that I've been waiting for or to go enter the world of investing and trading?
Can you share you experiences and ideas for me.
It is the great opportunity for me to read your answers.
Thank you in advance.
If you can manage both, why not try to earn at both at the same time? Better yet, establish a business of your own first before planning to enter in crypto world. IMO you can manage your time more effectively(and do trades for the time that you will save) and income from self owned business is better than working in a full time job. If you can't manage to do both though, just invest and hold good altcoins(like ethereum).
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ‘Bitcoin’ was the 9th most read article on Wikipedia in 2017 on: April 25, 2018, 10:30:59 PM
9th!!! Really!!!! I never thought Bitcoin could make it in top 100 in 2017. This is really amazing. But I gotta say, in 2018, lots of people are moving away from Bitcoin. The fall was a huge fall and seems to me it has become a pretty normal thing. But the price is rising now. Hope people will still keep their hopes.
It was normal because of the pump that happened(and many people who wanted to get rich quick got attracted to it). Those who have lost hopes though are the ones who just got into the BITCOIN HYPE/GET RICH QUICK HYPE(what I would like to call the event where many newbies who have little to no experience in trading and no knowledge in economics bought btc for profit when it was near all time high).
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Police Seize 600 Bitcoin Mining Computers over Electricity Theft! on: April 25, 2018, 01:57:26 PM
Maybe that's why we are seeing bitcoin price falling?)
That's not the reason why we are seeing bitcoin price fall today, it is because of weak hands that sell every time they see bad news such as this one. The affected miners didn't dump their bitcoins at all(maybe some did), they might have had just moved out of the country in order to not get affected of the regulation of electricity consumption that might be imposed in China in the next coming days.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy Ethereum using SGD(Singapore Dollar) on: April 25, 2018, 12:42:39 PM
Which service will be the best for buying ETH with SGD(Singapore Dollar)?
You can use this wallet(coinhako) which allows buying and selling btc and eth from and to SGD. My friend who now lives in Singapore use their service and he never had any problem buying eth and btc here(which he uses in altcoin trading). You can opt to try the first suggestion too, coinbase is one of the most prominent and trusted exchange out of the current exchanges we have now.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what's your reason joining here in crypto? on: April 25, 2018, 12:02:51 PM
what's your reason joining here in crypto?
My main reason for joining here in crypto is because of my interest in blockchain tech. At first I am intrigued as to how blockchain works and how does transactions gets processed using it. Now I know the answer to my question but I want to learn more about it because I believe that blockchain will be the main pillar of future tech. This is the reasons why I am still using crypto up to date.
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitsquare: A Different way to Trade Cryptos on: April 25, 2018, 11:29:41 AM
Bitsquare is a peer-to-peer open source system. It allows people to sell Bitcoin in exchange, regular currencies or altcurrencies. Manfred Karrer founded Bitsquare and its beta version was released in the spring of 2016.  Bisquare is a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) whose ownership is distributed among the contributors to the project.

Trading
First, you’ll have to download their software, that doesn’t require any details from you. Then you need to register a password for your wallet and you’re ready to go. You can trade among a decent list of altcoins; you can also choose your regular currency among few fiat currencies.

So it is only like an improved localbitcoins? I think localbitcoins is better if that is the case because it doesn't require clients to download their software in order to be used.  Localbitcoins can be used via their website, without downloading anything at all. Nevertheless, I think it is a good peer-to-peer trading platform for altcoins(at least for now but I don't trust it yet).
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NANO Team is Being Sued! Is NANO Dead? on: April 25, 2018, 10:39:33 AM
Guys! Look at this article that I found that was posted on cryptoslate.

People are saying that this means that NANO is going to die and that the project is over. Do you all agree? Why or why not?

I think that this is all FUD and that NANO will live forever. But also if they lose the lawsuit then this could result in them losing everything.

Here's the link to the article that I saw that first explained it all to me: https://cryptoslate.com/nano-lawsuit/

All I have to say is... WOW

Never a dull moment in cyrptocurrency
Don't just say WOW, rebuy if you want too since NANO is not dead and if ever they have defended themselves well in that lawsuit, I am sure price will somehow increase. They should have had listed in a better exchange though, they might have had avoided facing lawsuit because of some idiots if they have done that since the start. If they lose the lawsuit(which is unlikely), get ready to dump to your nano.
232  Economy / Economics / Re: Legalization of Bitcoin in Australia on: April 25, 2018, 09:55:20 AM
It seemed to me like the only problem they have with Bitcoin in the first place, is that it could easily be used for criminal activities.
It's not only the problem they have with bitcoin. Governments also doesn't like it's decentralization which they cannot fully control(which is the case for most countries). Although that is the case, I think those governments who are starting to legalize it(cryptocurrency in general) has the intent to study blockchain tech itself(Australia included) to use it in other fields as well and to not be left behind by others.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: My bullish Bitcoin prediction on: April 24, 2018, 01:22:48 PM
But first, I should warn all of you that a correction will happen before it takes $10,000 and up. In that correction, we will finally see our good old friend Kwukduck again. He will shout, scream and FUD on the top of his lungs.

Take that as a good signal to buy! Study his post history and see what I say is true.

If you see him, tell him the speculation subforum is looking for him.
Just be careful though, sometimes the opposite of what he posted does not happen so still rebuy at your own risk. Nevertheless, he/she is a great signal to buy since most of the times when he/she started to talk about his/her doomsday speculation about btc's current price, market suddenly goes bullish after a  while. What made you think that retracement will happen before we see 10,000$ and up? I believe it might happen way earlier than that because of the current news.
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin to soar again? on: April 24, 2018, 12:33:01 PM
The market is showing positive sign for bitcoin again. In an article published by Charlotte Davis at https://www.express.co.uk/finance/city/949891/bitcoin-price-usd-news-today-buy-dollar-cryptocurrency-latest-value-cash: BITCOIN price has seen a 27 percent increase since the start of April and one cryptocurrency expert said bitcoin is likely to continue to rally as historical data shows a continuous rise over the past eight years.
It is a given that bitcoin will continuously rise so long as adoption rate increases and user base continuously grows. I like how financial experts view it that way though, but I don't suggest watching their speculation(as it tends to side to where they will profit the most). From the statement in the link given by you OP, I speculate that those bastards already have got into bitcoin in the last few bearish trends that we have seen.
235  Economy / Economics / Re: Prices will some day fluctuate less? on: April 24, 2018, 11:52:26 AM
Do you think that someday the prices for Bitcoin will fluctuate less and ppl will be able to use more as a currency, and not only as a form of investment?
It can actually, so long as bitcoin gets evenly distributed as day pass by, price will fluctuate less until it comes to the point where people rarely notice it's fluctuations. Although that is the case, I don't think it will be used as a currency, but rather as an alternative way to pay. Bitcoin will also stay as a form of investment for a long time until fluctuation lessens, discouraging traders and investors to trade it further and it might encourage them to try use it for payments more.
236  Economy / Economics / Re: Recession vs Crypto World on: April 24, 2018, 11:20:27 AM
Would it affect the numbers at the market?
It would really affect not just the whole commodity market, but all of the markets existing in the particular country that will experience recession, it's citizens' lives included.
Or this is just a good opportunity to buy Cryptos, as a lot would definitely sell their coins?
It would definitely be a good opportunity to buy up some cryptos if this happens to countries which have significance in the cryptocurrency market(for example Japan) since some people will consider selling their stash of coins for food and basic necessities(although some who still have something to spend might just hold most of their portfolio's and only sell a percent or two of it).
237  Economy / Economics / Re: Is legalized marijuana good for the economy?? US Citizens might talk here.. on: April 24, 2018, 10:21:41 AM
The legalization of marijuana has brought in millions (maybe billions?) in tax revenue to those states that have allowed it. Just imagine what each state and even the federal government could do with such extra money. Rather than wasting millions in tax money on a fight that can't be won ,right??

Or maybe you guys got another opinions??
I think legalization of marijuana is good for the economy because of the tax revenue, but IMO the marijuana legalization law should be revised. For example, they should only sell it to people who will use it for medical purposes(even though some can still find a loophole but it will make things hard for those who are using it for recreational purposes). Even if that is said, as a state who might be suffering bankruptcy, it is a good move to get funds temporarily.
238  Economy / Economics / Re: Goldman & Bitcoin on: April 23, 2018, 10:21:15 PM
If any of the big investment banks are getting into Bitcoin support, I bet it would be Goldman which would be taking the first step. They may not be doing proprietary trades on cryptocurrencies, but they can still help their clients buy/sell cryptocurrencies. This would be minimal risk and earn them fat returns.
It is indeed a good way for them to earn returns and will help bitcoin go mainstream more since it will encourage institutions to invest into cryptocurrencies. Nevertheless, I think they will get into bitcoin in their own way and help their clients buy/sell cryptocurrencies after they have established their crypto stash. They will surely do proprietary trades on crypto before attempting to buy and sell crypto.
239  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC follow the same pattern in February 2018? on: April 23, 2018, 12:52:57 PM
What do you think?
Your points are valid and I also think btc will continue it's downtrend, reaching a low price within july this year unless there is a news that will prevent it from happening. For now I don't see bitcoin being bullish soon because there is no news around that will drive the price up despite the market being overbought already. I don't think we will see consolidation though, just pure downtrend and then another price movements after that.
240  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal: prevent account hack] A complete new login system for BitcoinTalk on: April 23, 2018, 11:06:25 AM
2FA is also another option the can consider. Remember theymos wants the users to be anonymous and using a verified email address can give a clue to expose your identity.
Another suggestion is to change the way people log in. Instead of only asking for usernames, I think asking for email only when logging in is more secure since users can hide their email from public's eye, making hacks more difficult to attempt. Also, if the user wishes to, I think signing a message every time he/she log in option should also be implemented as well but it must be optional and can be turned off by the user when logged on his/her account.
