225  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] yet another Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider Steam Code on: March 29, 2013, 01:06:29 PM
I've lowered the price to .5 BTC.

I'd love to sell this thing.
I want to build some rep!
226  Economy / Digital goods / [SOLD] Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider download coupon on: March 29, 2013, 03:23:58 AM
Like several other people here I've got a code coupon card for downloading Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider.

You can see a scan of the card here: http://static.mccoyspace.com/BTC/gamecard.jpg

I'd like to sell the code for .5 BTC

That will allow you to access two different download codes on Steam.

Since it's a download code, you would have to transfer the BTC first, then I'll send you a code (and a scan of the scratched off card if you want).
Can't do a refund.

I'm new here and motivated to uphold my end of the bargin. Let's make a deal!
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin vs CryptoCurrency by IMF on: March 29, 2013, 12:49:55 AM
interesting point  and bit coin avoids this fate because of its ultimate cap on the production of coins, right?
then it just becomes maintenance
228  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I want to have a serious discussion about BFL on: March 28, 2013, 10:22:18 PM
They did deliver a FPGA machine, after a short delay. I have a single unit that has been chugging along without trouble. I've paid for the upgrade, so we'll see if that arrives. I didn't have the money for an Avalon. It's interesting that they were able to pull a worki g design together relatively quickly. The fact that there is such a big size and power difference between the Avalon and the BFL unit suggests that BFL's was an ambitious design. That obviously is proving to be a challenge.
I'm still hopeful.

It is fine to compare the market value of Bitcoin to those other nations. But to say that Bitcoin is a notch better than the Congo isn't saying much. It's fair to say that the Democratic Republic of Congo is perceived as a lawless, violent and failed state. Why put Bitcoin at the top of a loser's list? (no offense to the people who work, live and struggle in those countries).

Numerically accurate and interesting, but not effective P.R.
230  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Open Letter to Instawallet on: March 28, 2013, 03:06:30 AM
Wow, over 900 wallets exposed at easywallet using the same trick....!

I haven't used those online wallets before. Are they just supposed to be for quick, in-and-out kinds of transactions?
231  Economy / Economics / Re: The problem of a depreciating currency on: March 26, 2013, 06:40:09 PM
A currency is both a store of value and a medium of exchange.
It isn't healthy for the bitcoin economy to be only about saving/hording.
There needs to also be people who spend the coins to foster exchange.

You could say that people who buy into bitcoin using fiat money create enough exchange effect, but I'm not convinced that that is enough.
232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining vs BitVisitor - why bother mining? on: March 24, 2013, 05:42:21 PM
How are you mining? CPU based?
233  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Terminology on: March 24, 2013, 05:35:33 PM
This is actually pretty helpful. Thanks.
234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: March 24, 2013, 02:25:50 PM
Mined my first bitcoin the other day. So far so good. 11 days to mine it in the pool.
235  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: avalon batch 3 prices and availability on: March 24, 2013, 02:16:51 PM

You must be new. It's been a long list of slipped shipping dates with BFL. Many people wonder if it will ever arrive. That said, I do have my order in and I hope for the best.
236  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your Mhash/s? (Pissing contest here) on: March 10, 2013, 11:30:11 PM
I've got 825 Mhash/sec using a BFL FPGA single on a Raspberry Pi using the MinerPeon disk image. I'm coming up on the end of my first 24 hours mining (using the pool at BTCGuild). Almost .09 btc in 24 hours.
