221  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMC]-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: June 27, 2013, 03:31:43 PM
People have created so much hype and expectation about this news, that it's almost impossible for any news to live up to the expectations now. No matter what the news are, most likely it will be less amazing, world-changing and mind bending than some people here anticipate.

That's what I'm thinking. Right now, pretty much anything short of 'We are acquiring Intel' will be a disappointment.

That valuation was of just Avalon chips. The price rise is entirely due to news being released about AMC's own chip.

People tend to overestimate when making decisions so I doubt people are truly expecting news that would be "world-changing".

People are more than likely using AM as a basis for this stock. AM is HIGHLY over priced but that doesn't even matter because people are still buying and paying that price which I guess we'd consider market value.

Rest assured if this company does what they say that are going to do, current prices will seem extremely cheap in the near future. And this is what we are all betting on right?

Any positive news on chip development will maintain the momentum, but I imagine the BTC10,000 (~$1,000,000 USD) would go towards assembling the Fast-Hash-80's with Avalon chips. It couldn't be enough to also fund a 45nm or 28nm chip fabrication run, could it?
222  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 27, 2013, 03:21:54 PM
people are holding shares...
few weak hands will buy back soon.

I feel the price is overvalued right now. They will buy back at lower price probably, below BTC3

I sold majority of my holdings at BTC3.47 yesterday.

I disagree with this statement. Granted, in Bitcoin mining everyone is always looking for a month to 3 month ROI. However, I feel like with this security having so much future potential (mining hardware at cost + hardware sells + generation2 chips), ~30% APY is a completely reasonable price for one share.

Also, there is quite a bit of buy support above 3 BTC, with 192 bids above 3 BTC on Bitfunder (I don't visit the other exchanges so I'm not sure about elsewhere.)

I sold as well.

Took my profit and now will invest in AMC.

Upcoming price adjustment as others diversify into other investment vehicles like AMC?

They're raising BTC10,000 through a 4,000,000 share release at AMC. Rather than writing AMC off as a SCAM/pretender, I want to know what ASICMINER is already doing to hold off challengers like AMC.

The 4,000,000 @ 0.0025 releases on BTC-TC and BitFunder
also known as BTC10,000 round of capital funding are now
14.88% sold
**partially obscured by shareholders who are also selling at 0.0025
224  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMC]-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: June 27, 2013, 02:55:23 PM
As more shares are bought logic dictates that AMC will have the funds in hand to cover what they want to accomplish. More shares bought, more confidence in the company.

Wishful thinking that share price will dip, but some have to lose so others can gain I suppose.

Isn't that what I said?

When AMC is almost selling out their shares at .0025, I suspect there will be selling in other securities to purchase AMC.

You could be right. So im testing this out with 4x PUT options i just purchased. B/E @ 3.325 with 1d 9h expiry.

Lets see if you/we are correct. If it comes good, where do i exit?

Tight window, but I think you're risk will be rewarded

Armory 0.88.1-beta is working great for me on Ubuntu 13.04 and MacOS 10.8

I am looking forward with great anticipation to future performance improvements.

Thank you for great software.

Anyone anticipating a price correction on ASICMINER today with speculators snacking up AMC shares like hotcakes on BitFunder and BTC-TC? I have to admit I moved a bit that way, I don't want to miss out the next chance to get in early on something potentially big. Might be a nice day to sell some G-ASICMINER PUT's on BitFunder with their more flexible expiration timetable. Discuss?

When AMC has their massive mining operation fully engaged (months? and months? from now), I hope they take steps to operate any solo-mining pool from a well-connected node. I am getting damn frustrated with the low transaction numbers in ASICMINER's solo-mined blocks. Miners, please help support a more efficient bitcoin network.

I thought this was not really possible and that whichever block you mine is purely based on luck ?

I suppose I'll never really understand BTC, will I....

Clock is ticking!!! Grin Grin Grin

The closer we get to chewing through all 2 million shares, the faster they will be bought up. I'm sure a lot of people are holding their money back and hoping to buy at the last possible moment. That will be fun to watch.

If we look back a week, we were stuck at .0008 due to flippers. A lot of them must be kicking themselves now.

The wall as of now is effectively 3,519,717 shares because of the additional 2,000,000 shares which were offered on BTC-TC. It is relatively easy to arbitrage the security on the two exchanges (BTC transfers are quick/easy after all), so I doubt the price will rise much on BitFunder even if it does burn through it's 2,000,000 shares first.

Massive offering dictates that the new needs to be massive, or the security may stagnate and potentially lose ground.

Really what better is it to have shares at BTCT.co if it's a PT?
I mean if Bitfunder goes down or WeExchange go down, we are still f*cked when BTCT.co is buying shares from BitFunder as a PT.
Am I missing something here?

You're missing something. Direct shares can be moved to/from BTC-TC.
231  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMC]-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: June 27, 2013, 11:10:17 AM
If you want to have shares on BTC-TC but don't want to increase your total shares in AMC, it seems you have two choices:
  • Pay the pass through fee (1BTC if moving <50,000 shares *free if greater than 49,999*) to move shares to BTC-TC
  • Sell your shares below the 0.0025 wall on BF and then re-purchase shares at BTC-TC.

I suppose some of the shareholder selling on BF today might be an attempt to ready a move to BTC-TC.
232  Economy / Securities / Re: Do not buy the new PMBs called BFMINES issued by Furuknap on: June 27, 2013, 09:56:28 AM
PMBs are bad long-term investments?

So what?

Who cares?

At this point we all know it. It us up to the exchanges to not list them if they are so morally reprehensible. So go complain on BTC-TC and BitFunder threads about PMBs. Don't slander someone who is operating a common business on this forum. Why aren't you slandering dice game operators? Are they not poor long term investments for users? Why not troll Lenders for their exorbitant APRs? Why not troll people who resale pre-orders of ASIC equipment? It seems like your dead set on a personal vendetta, which strips away your credibility.

In conclusion, stop slandering people and make your complaints to the exchanges, (who will promptly ignore you).
233  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMC]-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: June 27, 2013, 09:25:57 AM
So the 0.0025 wall is now 6.8 million shares? Or will BTCT.co be released at a different price?
234  Economy / Securities / Re: [AMC]-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: June 26, 2013, 05:52:58 PM
Necessary, i would have thought. Too high too fast gets the uninitiated exposed, me thinks. We saw it when people wanted refunds from .0009 to .0005

P.S. Can someone stand at the Ask wall, and politely move along those sellers getting in the way, please. Thankyoumuch.

Selling right now is a bet against tommorow's news, simple as that. There are always two sides on each bet. I've chosen mine long ago! Smiley

I have to admit, the announcement of the announcement has piqued my interest.  Huh I'd like to see the pass-through on BTC-TC approved, though, because as of now, a bet on AMC is a bet on BitFunder AND a bet on WeExchange. I decided to punt a few coins on AMC/BitFunder/WeExchange, so I guess I am upgrading my previously held assessment of AMC from AMC is a SCAM to AMC is an interesting but risky investment.
235  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 26, 2013, 05:21:05 PM

0.01938069/share represents a 0.57% Weekly dividend at share prices of 3.4BTC

Coinlenders is currently paying 0.429% Weekly interest to Depositors

The Coinlenders price line (i.e., the price of AM shares which have an identical ROI to CoinLenders) for a dividend of 0.01938069BTC/share is

4.52BTC/share

Thus, any ASICMINER share price below 4.52BTC provides a a better return on investment than CoinLenders.
**Of course AM share prices fluctuate, so you could gain/lose money on share price. So it looks like buying is still in order for now.
236  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 25, 2013, 09:39:09 PM
That's not how I understood the concept of "the mythical DAILY-AM-PT". On each wednesday I would just divide the dividends per 7 and spread them to share holders. So from wednesday on, they have a perfect visibility of future dividends until the next wednesday. In other words, it would pay previous week divs but flatten "per day", rather than paying future week based on any unsure speculation of future divs.

As you have described it, basically people have to wait 14 days for their complete dividend instead of 7.

How is this an improvement?
237  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 25, 2013, 09:21:17 PM
Let me put the final nails in this.

1st, ASICMINER generates profits in another way as well: Specifically, Hardware sales. Friedcat, so far, has chosen not publish the address for hardware sales, which means that the last day of each week, the mythical DAILY-AM-PT will have significantly higher dividends than other days. This would create interesting episodic price valuations, but not the kind shareholders would enjoy.

2nd, ASICMINER spends BTC on expenses too—which means calculating the daily dividends by coins tallied in ASICMINER mining wallets could be a huge risk for the pass through operator when Friedcat invests in new datacenter leases, chip orders, board orders, assembly, etc.

Basically, this idea is not possible unless ASICMINER undergoes a major shift towards transparent daily accounting, which Friedcat is very unlikely to do given his past behavior (which is certainly no indictment of his actions, he should spend his time otherwise).
238  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: June 25, 2013, 08:47:33 PM
Daily dividends are simply a way to compete with existing passthroughs for potential shareholder's BTC. There is far more risk & busy work associated with it, too, so expect to have to charge substantial fees if you set this up.

Busy work??? You know computers are good to make this kind of tasks automatic?  Cheesy
I'd write a script to make all this in 10mn. Actually with enough initial investment it's a pretty good idea! Gosh, why am I so busy!!!  Angry

Busywork =
Replying to nagging shareholders:
"Where are my dividends?"
"When will I receive my dividends?"
"Why are my dividends so small today?"

Filling out applications for listing on bitfunder or BTC-TC.
Explaining to Bitfunder/BTC-TC why this is necessary, and proving that you are not going to SCAM shareholders.

If you think this is so simple, do it, but I have doubts you would get it off the ground. Few people have the reputation  and collateral to get a complicated passthrough like this listed on BTC-TC.
