To get more than 2x 750 Ti on one motherboard, you will need powered risers since they draw all the power through the PCIe slot.
Gigabyte makes a 750 Ti with a 6 pin power adapter. No idea how much power it will draw from it vs the PCIe if connected.

Oh ok I see! Thank you very much for the answer I'm gonna try no the no submit stale option to reduce DOA. Don't do that! Stale shares can still be valid blocks that will pay out to the network. By not submitting stale shares you hurt the profitability of the whole network.

Is there a way to calculate how much ram is actually needed vs the # of cuda cores or something along those lines, for scrypt mining? ie: Would a 2gb 750 mine faster than a 1gb 750?

P2Pool is a distributed pool with many nodes on the network.
If you mine with 2 MH/s on 100 nodes with a balanced cgminer (Pool management -> change strategy -> balance) it will show up on each node with 20 kH/s but having higher payout than someone who is mining with 100kH/s on a single node. Do you understand what I mean?
I can't imagine how this would be correct. The # of nodes you are on and how much you split your hash power doesn't impact how long it will take you to find a valid share. And your valid shares are what get you paid. 20 kH/s on 100 nodes or 2MH/s on 1 node should have exactly the same expected and average incomes over time.

Heads up to anyone affected: I'm closing Vertcoin Heavy Industries. If you did not receive the email please see here for more details: https://vertcoinheavyindustries.com/Thank you for mining with us and I hope you will choose to mine with p2pool in the future. Sorry to see you go. Good luck in future endeavors. USA based miners are welcome to use my two p2pool nodes if they like!

Don't you have to send it back first to get a replacement?
You do with bitmaintech, yeah. I assumed (wrongly?) the deposit was an alternative to sending first. ie: Request replacement, send deposit, get replacement, return defective, return deposit.
|
|
|
Wow, 1.35BTC deposit to have you part exchanged while it's still under warranty?
I don't know what to say here.
They've been ripped off before by sending replacements but never getting the defective one back. Leading some people to lie about it being defective to steal a second one.

I´m "new" to BTC but first thing i heard cold storage is the ONLY way to go.
I backed up my Wallet on dropbox, though, good idea?
I'm not sure about Dropbox but one cloud provider that is encrypted from start to finish is SpiderOak.

okay I will wait a bit longer to see what happen, but it used to never to this, both miners always showed predicted payouts. On a different note the p2pool-note-status static page has been updated, it now shows the "payout if block were found now".
"Predicted payouts" is misleading because it sounds like you will be getting a payout. It's actually just the total value of your shares in the share chain at that moment, same as if you click on Payouts on the Extended interface. If a block it paid out right then, that's the amount you'd get paid, because that is your total share value in the share chain. It doesn't mean the pool will find a block (you might get paid zero). The pool could also find many blocks (you'd get paid that for each of them). On my nodes I've changed it to say "Your Share(s)", hoping it's more intuitive that way.

What could be worng if the local hashrate is higher than total p2pool hashrate ? ;/
It's possible the local and global hash rate figures on web interface are being averaged over different lengths of time.

Those are much lower CFM than the original ones (as are most if not all "silent" fans). I wouldn't recommend as a replacement but as a second fan should be fine. (I didn't see the earlier context.)
Ahh ok. I remembered I had a fan bookmarked if I ever needed one but didn't compare the CFMs. Sorry.

I called UPS with a glimmer of hope I could talk them round using my last 2 deliveries as proof, after 10 minutes on hold I finally speak to a very nice lady who tells me that unlike the other 2 S1's I have bought this one was shipped stating its value was $800.
You have more guts than me. I'd have been paranoid they'd charge me more for the prior deliveries if I was claiming all 3 were the same device after the fact.

How about people pay the proper customs and obey their local laws?

I guess I'm confused. You have nearly identical unpaid balances and nearly identical most recent payments (yesterday).

I got an error where it said something about trying to broadcast a share without having all the transactions (?). Then the share was counted against orphans, I think. The message scrolled off before I could save it. There's no log file for p2pool right? At least I couldn't find it.
It's in data/coinname/log

I have received a whole lot of nothing in my merged mining wallets. I know merged mining is more like Solo mining with P2Pool, but with this somewhat middling hashpower I would have expected to have gotten something within this timeframe. So do I have something setup wrong or is the probability really that bad with around a 1TH of power? Even Namecoin has only the few bits I got from failover to BTCGuild and nothing from my merged p2pool node even after being active for over 3 months.
When I did the math the other day, I think Namecoin merge mining with my 180GH miner on my Un node is about 2 years average time to find a namecoin block. I'd need to be more around 10 TH to get blocks on a regular enough basis to consider that a legitimate source of income to pay for the pool overhead. It'd be nice if there was a namecoin p2pool network, and p2pool could merge mine off of that extra p2pool network somehow.

Great, thanks. Had never heard of Haskell before your proxy project or redis. I do hang out on irc but normally #p2pool and #p2pool-vtc. Edit: Here's a nice summary: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7888880/what-is-redis-and-what-do-i-use-it-forAs a first glance it seems to remind me of the Amazon SQS / SNS services I use on my TRC pool. For anyone else following along, you run "cabal run server" inside the proxypool folder.

The subtly hidden readme. ;-) Usually they just say "see docs". lol.
edit: that did it. Thanks for the pointer. I'll check out your mod for it next. ;-)
The p2pool-vtc repo already has my patch applied.
