221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: January 25, 2017, 07:45:01 PM
hi! I have 1060. I have 225 Sol / 265 in boost. what could be wrong?

How much do you get from your 1060 with other miners?
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: January 25, 2017, 07:42:27 PM
I have never believed the story that ewbf has copied someone or other miners, I'm sure that if he wants he can improve his miner without help from others.

I don't think anything will ever be proven, but correlations and inferences are your friend bro. EWBFs speed increases closely matched EQM to the T and now that EQM doesn't exist anymore there aren't any more speed increases, which is super suspicious. The last speed upgrade was right on par with the small speed upgrade EQM left before going open source. EWBF has offered no speed increases over EQM... ever, besides mining outside their service. The one time EWBF released first EQM was offering preview versions to their clients and I'm sure it got leaked as it was the same speed increase EQM offered a couple days later.

This isn't uncommon outside of cryptos or from the chinese who are great at ripping things off, you can believe what you want as always though.

I respect any opinion.
But, my first version was faster than their. then i start improve platform (miner code not solver). After a couple of day they make his miner faster, of cource i stop my work and start solver optimization to achieve more speed. And then this simply start to be a race, untill they not "finish" this race. Now we are close to hardware limits, here each a little step is incredibly complicated. Technically ~10% of improvements is still possibly, but algorithm not allow make this. This "hardware limits" is a memory speed and latency and at this moment they not allow gain more speed. Of course, the full story longer, but I hope that I have replied to this accusation.
Thank you for attention

Only version that was faster was .3b and that lasted a couple days before being replaced. As I mentioned, when they released it they had a pre-release version they were distributing to their VIPs I'm sure got leaked (I found a leaked copy so it wasn't that hard). EQM definitely released before EWBF with their first versions back in Nov.

Yup I understand you have to do rewrites time and again as you can't keep optimizing. It's definitely too much of a coincidence that your rewrites and speed increases closely matched theirs down to a couple %.

As far as speed increases go... pretty sure everyone would rather have more speed over features to further separate ourselves from AMD. You as a developer also make more the more speed we have.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I have always respected that.  It does seem though that this is just an attack by 1 on another when no evidence is presented or the other side is making a claim.  I think it should be dropped here.  People benefit from speeds, he may charge a dev fee and we all have that right to use it or not.  If someone creates something and wants to own it, they should create it in the right way that it cant be taken (not making any accusations here).

I don't really expect much from the average miner, you're no exception. 3/4 of what you said doesn't even make sense nor has any relation to what we were talking

It's actually pretty simple, most 8th graders could understand that you are making accusations and your story behind it.  If you didn't have a concern for us "average miners" then why did you post it on here, pretty childish.  No need to troll, if you have a legal concern do something legal about it.

It has nothing to do with legality, everything to do with reputation. People will continue using EWBFs miner and side with whoever gives them the most money, regardless of evidence. Even if the code was copied verbatim, it wouldn't matter to most people. However people should know when something is copied.

If you've been around the forums you should get the drift that copying other peoples work is frowned upon... Nothing childish about pointing out when someone copies someone elses work, especially when someone else dumps a lot of time, money, and effort into what they create. You're a dumbass.

"...and your story behind it."

Yup struggle to make a point. Next time at least make the effort to finish your line of thought before hitting period. If you think I randomly made up EWBFs and EQMs release dates in addition to improvements in their miners, you can easily check both threads. It's so easy even a 8th grader could understand it... hue hue hue. -_-

Where is the moderator?
This a tech thread.
Pls start your own whining thread.

225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi? Why did he hide his identity? on: January 24, 2017, 09:27:51 AM
one of the people who fought important in the development of bitcoin is satoshi, in fact, it can be said that satoshi is the father of bitcoin. if bitcoin does not hide himself, maybe he thought that he could damage the balance bitcoin, and maybe if satoshi disappear, then the bitcoin balance can be maintained. but I am sure, though satoshi disappeared, she can control the bitcoin from behind the screen.

So now he is a she? Smiley

Getting the same thing on two different rigs with 1060's and 1070's, I've tried 1.0 and 2.0 it doesn't seem to make a difference which one I'm running.  I'd also like to add that this doesn't happen right away, the miner works fine for 5-10 minutes first before this happens. The cards run valley benchmark just fine for hours but I removed all overclocking anyway to eliminate possibilities per EWBF's suggestion.  Any other ideas would be much appreciated, having two rigs down is a big waste of resources.

Try solver 2 or 1.

I tried much solver so hard and still nadda.  I did find a work around but it isn't really an acceptable one in my opinion.  If I under clock the graphics cards both memory and GPU the miner doesn't crash.  I'd say that I have two failing cards, but they work fine for gaming and hours of valley benchmark without crashes or artifact with massive overclocking.

You tried to rescan the driver's devices in Devices Manager?
Sometimes the drivers get corrupted... Microsoft advanced housekeeping. Smiley

Just got the same glitch, restarting the script worked fine.
Some time ago I had kind of the same problem with Claymore and my AMD's.
hint to EWBF: Setting the (-r 240) "restart by user" switch to every 4 hours solved my problem. Wink
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v11.1 (Windows/Linux) on: January 22, 2017, 11:06:36 PM
guys can we use both of nvidia and amd cards in one rig?
for example 1 r9 390x and 3 gtx 1070

Sure can.

With Claymore use the parameter:
-di 0
And for your Nvidia cards use EWBF with the parameter:
--cuda_devices 012
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: January 20, 2017, 09:24:27 PM
Hey guys, just a quick question.

I have an AMD mining rig, with 3/6 gpu slots filled, it's currently running claymore's amd miner.
Now what I wanna ask is, can I put a Nvidia card(1060 3gb) on the 4th slot and run ewbf's miner SIMULTANEOUSLY with Claymore's?
What I mean is running EWBF's miner with parameters to use only the nvidia card, and claymore's with parameters to use the other 3.
If it's not possible, are there any alternative ways to have both nvidia and amd cards mining on the same pc?

Just for info,my cpu and ram are weak(35 dollar intel processor whose name i cant remember and one stick of 4gb 1333 ram)

Thanks in advance.

I have 4 AMD's and 2 NVidia's on my rig.

You can see on the image
1 GTX 970
1GTX 1070
4 RX 470

For the AMD's I use Claymore with the GPU Index parameter: -di 0123
And NVidia = EWBF I use the parameter : --cuda_devices 01

How do you guys get these results? I have a gtx 1080 and a 1070. On nicehash i get an average of 1000 sol/s (on OC). With the same settings this miner gives me 600... I rebooted, checked for latest drivers, start gpu mining without other stuff running. Nothing helps.

1 x 970 + 1 x 1070 gives me 261+408=669H/s at the script level and 613 H/s on Flypool.

Your setup should give you at least 408+575=983H/s

Maybe a temp problem. My 1070 runs at 60c/60% fan. And the 970: 68c/85% fan
With the help of MSI Afterburner fan control.

Last couple of versions have been flagged for Trojans latest is Detplock anyone else get this?  Maybe False Positive?

Windows defender just did that to me actually. I don't know what settings I can use to block that from happening besides letting the defense down completely. Not an issue while I am not using the computer for anything else at least
Goto Defender's settings and exclude that folder.

I have problem of stability with error:46.
I cannot work more than 24hours without crash.
All rigs.. it's very strange. I don't read many people with the same problem.

V.10. GTx 1070 are different brand with different overclock but 4400 mem usually.

Same here. It stops the miner at 3hres interval. (V.10. GTx 1070 stock)

Would be nice to have some switch to force restart the rig.

233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: January 11, 2017, 12:14:20 AM
Sweet!! Thanks for the miner!  Grin

I get 280sol on 1070 but I get error: some thread is dead restart..

Might be too high overclock..

280???  Mine gives me 385H/s stock.

235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: January 05, 2017, 09:38:26 AM
EWBF's miner has practically never allowed multiple instances to run on a PC, whether on Linux or Windows OS.

This is because, there are substantial differences between the two.

The Nicehash miner has always allowed more than one instance to be run.

Therefore, there is nothing to complain about, unless you think both are identical.

i can run 2+ instances of this miner without problems, what you are talking about exactly?

I presume he was speaking about threads, because like you i can run multiples instance (several bat files for selected gfx cards) no problems Smiley
Mine crashed too even without oc.
So I will go back to ver 08 waiting for ver 09.x.
Or... start an instance of EWBF and Nicehash side by side. That way they share the rig 50/50 and if one crashes the other picks up the slack.
You get paid in BTC but at least you do not waste any sols if it happens while you are away.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: January 05, 2017, 09:07:15 AM
@ewbf, any reason the miner can't recover from a error 46 (I think that's the right code).  This happens when the graphics driver crashes in eventlog.  A simple close and re-open gets it going again.  Do I have to resort to a script?  Anyone have one configured for these bat files already? I know I have a sample somewhere...

too much overclock probably, additionnaly you can try

:start
your command
goto start

if command crash or stop for any reason it will restart it again
But what if you want to stop the miner?
Wont the .bat be caught in an endless loop?
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: January 04, 2017, 05:23:46 AM
Just  an fyi if you loose the miner.exe file off your system and running windows 10, you can thank defender for auto deleting the file without permission for that, only way around it seeing you cant permanently disable defender is to allow an exception, have to use admin account disable realtime protection and then unzip and point to the miner.exe file and exclude it, else one day you'll wont have the file.

Yet again Microsoft  thinking for us poor humans..

238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best price to enter zcash? on: January 03, 2017, 07:26:52 AM
Is ZCASH all hype or wtf?
The initial price you saw was all about the marketing and hype it had and it was well know that the price would come down.Bitcoin is the only coin in the crypto currency world where you can trust in the long term and the price of Zcash was meant to come down ,it was just a bubble that could drop considerably once everything settles down and it might go up in future when more people start using the coin but for now it is a bad coin to invest.

it was not hype it was because the reward was very low like 1 per coin, and the daily supply was also low, therefore it was easy to buy all coin available on the market which mean that the price must be very high

"look no further than this article by Cryptocoins News. 2017 will see tax authorities take advantage of Bitcoin's failed anonymity promise and pave the way for Zcash to show the world why encryption and privacy are the future of financial systems. "

"the interest from regulatory bodies and governments. As a consequence, privacy will more and more become a focus for cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin and similar players will lose considerable market share as privacy-centric currencies like Zcash will receive more attention."

Version 0.0.8b.
Version 0.0.8b.

EWBF's Zcash cuda miner.
Expected speeds 360 - 380 sols/s gtx1070. 240 - 260 gtx1060. Stock settings.

Nvidia GTX 970; sm5.2; 72.0c; fan 99% > 206 sols; Suprnova reports average 211 sols.
Nvidia GT 710 > not working.

Nicehash's nheqminer was yielding 220 sols on Nicehash, 16 sols on Suprnova, tsss.

Thank you very much. A 2% fee well deserved.
