Can anyone give me some detailed instructions please on the following:
I have 6 MLDs. They're all currently mining LTC in litecoinpool. But I want to try and mine another coin/token-maybe Digibyte or another Scrypt one in hash-to-coins. I am running my miners through a raspi 3 on linux. But I'm not advanced user. Can anyone share some tips and instructions as to how I need to go about setting this up.
Same process as you used to get them mining LTC - setup a wallet, create an address, choose a pool, change your existing pool address and wallet with the new ones...

Turned it off this end, that does the trick. Only just breaking even...

What am I not doing please?
You didn't mention what you're mining. I think "Above target" means the wrong algo, there are 3 cryptonight algos on nicehash (regular, v7 and heavy), and you'd need to select the right one for the port you're aiming your miners at. Yeah, you're right, it means NH isn't recognising the correct algo. Question is, how do you get the miner to tell NH? I've tried the obvious "normalv7" in config, and "nicehash" true in .bat, but no joy - immediate rejects... Mines XMR@nanopool quite happily on this setting... NH vork fine with 6*vega56/64 + srbminer 1.6.0 and this option: V7:{"pool_use_tls" : false, "pool" : "cryptonightv7.eu.nicehash.com: 3363", "wallet" : "adres", "password" : "x", "nicehash" : true, "max_difficulty" : 1700000}, heavy:{"pool_use_tls" : false, "pool" : "cryptonightv7.eu.nicehash.com: 3364", "wallet" : "adres", "password" : "x", "nicehash" : true, "max_difficulty" : 1700000}, and use config file identical like nano or other algo U use wrong port ...Nice one - thanks for the config too - nice and clear. "intensity" : 112 or 120 , "worksize" : 8 or 16, for v7 "intensity" : 56, "worksize" : 8 for heavy

Change this: pool:port to whatever pool and relevant port you want. Most pools will have different ports for different algos, so check on their website/slack/discord/telegram

Hi folks, been trawling thru the thread - getting 'share above target' rejects on nicehash. Have set to "normalv7" in config, and "nicehash" true, but has no effect... What am I not doing please?

I really wouldn't touch any ASICs anymore. We have had just too many "scams" by Bitmain and other ASIC manufacturers, you buy an ASIC from them and you basically never ROI when getting a batch 2+
Yeah, BM have been too clever for their own good. Unless you get batch 1. You'll only just ROI on batch 2, then be left with a doorstopper. In some cases (see the XMR saga) you don't even get that. When you factor in the hassle and time spent playing fastest finger, shipping + fees, customs faff, warranty returns to China and then maintaining a dedicated noise-proof, power and cooling area for your asics, it's really not worth it at all.

the bad thing about the fpga agaist a gpu is that you can not mine a new algo coin, fast enough when it's launched, i don't think you can reprogram it so fast to mine it at launch, gpu are always ready on this
if you mine it later it's too late already...
Is this actually true? Surely it's a similar process to tweaking/reissuing/launching new GPU-aimed mining software?

Sorry but too much proof out there otherwise from customers receiving used and dusty miners, difficulty changes, and units suddenly being announced for sale when algo changes announced on profitable coins.
Yeah, seen it first hand. plus bear in mind they need to have a significant 'warranty' pool to pull machines from, that they know for sure do work. Obviously that's not a 'secret mining operation' though, that's 'Warranty warehouse no9'... It's all semantics...

Just tried the latest version to mine Haven V3 on my 3 Vega 56 rig. 2 cards hash 1300h/s the one with the monitor plugged in only does 300h/s. Already tried lowering intesity on the card... who has a solution for this?
thnx for the advice.
Yeah, me too. Had to start another instance of Cast, back to the bad old days. Have two rigs that just won't deal with the newest version at all - new intensity settings just fry everything, crashes. Previous version is fine... (Know you can change intensity, but if I back it off hashrate plummets. dial it up and crash. Not a great combo)

Well, at least it's been more than 48 hours since the last thread on this.
Maybe mining is doomed, like the human condition itself, but I ain't switching off yet. If you want to, please do, drop the difficulty a little.

i love vegas, the cheap powecolor ones are hit or miss tho, they have shit hynix mem and max out at 1850 or so h/s on v7 , id buy reference cards if u can find them
I've heard the Sapphire Pulse ones are good (and much cheaper at the moment). Have been nearly tempted, but ROI is long, even discounting current market desperation.

If you really can't do any research at all then use Nicehash - payouts usually average out OK. Also your question does depend on if you're mining alts to hold or sell immediately...
|
|
|
Hi all, I'm getting plenty of shares rejected from Nicehash, anybody worked out how to stop this? Often 'share above target' - no issues on any pools that I've noticed...

Video has been disproved, is clickbait nonsense. Ignore.

Not 100%, BURST is safe from breaking even
What does "safe from breaking even" mean? You won't break even. Indeed, that's even if you can get the damn wallets to load these days...

yeah, happens from time to time.

based upon what I'm reading and seeing, I think someone sold you poorly refurbished fans as new.
This may not be the direct fault of the reseller either, it could have been a supplier that ripped off a reseller, it happens on Amazon all the time.
yeah, looks like they've used old motors on new blades and bodies. Even cloned Deltas wouldn't die that fast. When you say 'dead' are they just not turning anymore, or locked solid/hard to turn by hand?
