I remember when Brogdon got ROTY award back in 2017, despite Embiid having much better numbers, but he lacked the games.
It doesn't matter if he will not get the ROTY as long as he qualifies to the playoffs, not getting the award is understandable since he was injured during the pre season and he was advised to rest for quite some time, but this guy is now doing what we are expecting of him and it looks like the chance of the Pelicans to advance to the playoffs is more clear now. If he will continue playing like this or if there are more coming from him that huge chance to advance and have a playoff appearance is really possible. I might touch the Lakers vs Pelicans where I think Pelicans will cover like Boston if they loss.

When Philadelphia made roster for this season, they kept in mind Embiid and his history of injuries, and Horford signing was in a way contingency plan in case something happens to Embiid, but what they didn't cover is proper Simmons replacement. Let's hope this injury is nothing serious and that he will be back soon, so far he missed only few games in his first 2 seasons. Not sure about that since Harris is there to help and provide stats even without Simmons but I agree with you acquiring Horford is a good contingency plan since Embiid base from his previous history is very prone to injuries. It's time for Stanley Pringle to carry this team, I know he can do that with the support of his teammates, IMO, he is the most capable of producing good offence in the team as he is not afraid to attract the paint and that is the thing they should focus since GSM is not really a good 3 point shooting team. He tried to do it when he is still on GlobalPort and he became a scoring champion too. He has the capability to do it and he showed it also last conference. He is a fast guard so alongside other guards like Tenorio, Thompson they can dominate other teams. Regarding the 3 point shooting, I don't see anybody of them who is good at 3 point shooting so I will agree with this. They are good inside the paint but not that good on the outside so maybe they can train on this. he will be more effective now that he is in a team where there's a lot of great players, if the coach would give him that freedom to shoot the ball more often then for sure he will have a good scoring this conference. Unlike in Northport, the Ginebra is more of a defensive team so we can expect they'll have an outstanding record this conference. Interesting to see if what adjustment they've bring for Stanley knowing that there's no BrownLee to help them from this conference, knowing the characteristic of Stan he can create plays if coach Tim will let him though it's still LA who will manage the game plan but if LA will bring the ball most of the time and allow Stan to make his move and go straight to the basket. All filipino conference is now unpredictable since Fajardo is not there to play for SMB and adjustments from different teams are showing no one knows who will dominate this season. |
