Hi,

I sent 0.02 to the address given, and it said it would refresh every 30 seconds until found.

But I've just come back to my desk and found the page blank.

So I refreshed it, but now it has given me a different payment address, so it seems my original is lost?

I originally deposited to 1KM7TfYsd...

I'm going to now deposit 0.05 to this new address that's showing, and hope it gets confirmed faster.

Cheers.

I think it had to do with a glitch earlier, refuding your .02 BTC if you can give me a return address.
222  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Higher/Lower Game on: May 09, 2011, 01:23:39 AM
Oh yeah, so the two I won I never got payed.

It says +0.19 (twice) but it's grayed out...

What does this mean?

EDIT: Also I tried playing just now, and after 30 seconds it tried to refresh but has just been stuck loading...
It says +0.19 in Bitcoin? How did you earn +.19? The max bet is .05 and the max payout is +.15? That's not from me. What was your Bitcoin address that you sent to, and how many guesses did it take you to win?

Also, Bitcoind broke, it's back up now.
223  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Higher/Lower Game on: May 09, 2011, 12:57:20 AM
Understandable. Thanks for playing.
224  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Higher/Lower Game on: May 09, 2011, 12:48:04 AM
Aw, crap! I just lost 0.08 BTC because I thought the address I sent 0.10 BTC to was like an account for multiple plays. You really need to make it more clear that every payment is 1 bet and should not be more than 0.02 BTC.
Sigh, I thought it was clear with my 3 bold "DO NOT SEND MORE THAN .02 BTC". What's an address I can send the .08 BTC to, and I'll update the page.

My address is 1KSrAsjVPov6JK772xQ4Lazneq8zaAgH6z

I don't remember seeing the "PLEASE DO NOT SEND MORE THAN .02 BTC AT A TIME" before I sent my payment.

Oh, I forgot to list it on the page. It was listed in this forum. Sorry.

In other news, the max bet is now .05 BTC.

As someone somewhere else stated, this kind of pyramid or ponzi scheme is just gambling.

Pyramid != ponzi (as pyramids are explicit that they're paying earlier participants from later participants (and thus that if there's no later participants, no payments to earlier participants are due) while ponzi schemes involve a promise to pay early participants that has no connection in the promise to later participants... pyramids are also generally less stable since there's less room for the pyramid operator to convince earlier participants to roll-over their "investment" and become a later participant)
Yes, I understand that they are not the same, but it's hard to know which to call this, and I've seen it called both in this thread.

Okay, I have returned your .1 BTC yrral86, and the site should be functional for anyone else who wishes to play.

Remember, no bets over .02 BTC.
228  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Higher/Lower Game on: May 08, 2011, 11:53:38 PM
It uses random numbers from random.org.

So it definitely is not like this then?

Hahaha, I hope not.

P.S. I saw your ninja edit.
229  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Higher/Lower Game on: May 08, 2011, 11:29:36 PM
The site is currently blank for me Sad.
It seems to be loading fine here. Try Ctrl+Shift+R.

Hmmm.. that doesn't work, but it works in another browser... strange.
What browser doesn't it work in, can I ask?

It's back up again. Sorry for the delay. Please tell me if it breaks again, and I'm working to make sure everything is going smoothly.

PLEASE DON'T BET OVER .05 BTC.
232  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Higher/Lower Game on: May 08, 2011, 10:47:24 PM
Please send my 0.1 BTC back to 13ZXGBhkeFQ8nt1xpMAWGAS6gbhZUJ5j6A

Please check your PMs, I'm willing to send back .08 BTC, as that's the amount you didn't bet with.
233  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Higher/Lower Game on: May 08, 2011, 10:36:10 PM
Played once, everything went smoothly.

I guess I must have been very lucky, my number ended up being zero  Grin
Thanks. I need to fix this.
234  Economy / Marketplace / Higher/Lower Game on: May 08, 2011, 10:13:59 PM
This has been discontinued due to glitches and bugs.

Hello,

Since we don't have enough gambling games yet (Tongue) I've created a higher or lower game for Bitcoin. It could also be seen as a skill / math game, not just gambling I suppose.

It uses random numbers from random.org. Please tell me if you encounter any bugs, or don't like something you see.

You can play the game here.

Current minimum bet is .01 BTC, and maximum bet is .05 BTC. This will be raised soon, hopefully. Please do not bet above or below this, or your money could be lost.

Please also note that this is a trial run, and if I'm losing too much money, I won't be able to continue. This site could come down at any moment.

Because if someone disagrees with you, you're obviously wrong.
236  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace Regulation on: May 08, 2011, 05:20:00 PM
Or maybe just
Code:
[B] / [S]
or even
Code:
B: / S:

That's nice too.

Truthfully, I don't care as long as it's shorter than [BUYING] and [SELLING].
237  Other / Meta / Re: Haters Are Gonna Hate... I Guess on: May 08, 2011, 05:12:57 PM
I don't know how I've gotten so lucky. Cheesy

Oh wait, never mind, I have a -1 now.
238  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace Regulation on: May 08, 2011, 05:07:23 PM
I tag my own with [WTB] or [WTS] because it's shorter and more of the title can fit on the main page under the "Last post" section of the forum.

Might be a bit more difficult to understand to non-native English speakers.

How about [BUY] and [SELL]?
I can do that from now on.

Does one user need to do all of these, or can they choose one?

Also, how "basic" are the Javascript and Python videos?
