Also, when using 1 core for CPU affinity, that core is at a constant 100%. Is this normal?

Sounds like you're CPU only. It was working before? Driver crashed?

1 core of my CPU only @ 135Mhash/s really doesn't happen. Also temps and load on GPU rise to max, so I doubt it. I have no idea why it is at 100% though.

The problem here is that I have to use OpenGL for my GTX570 and not CUDA, which should give me better performance Smiley

Get CUDAminer  I'm getting 165 on my 570 with it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167229.0

Sorry if this may sound stupid, but I thought CUDAminer is for Litecoin only, and not Bitcoin?

based off pooler's miner. You can switch the algo with -a

Anyone know if there wallet that does auto transactions? Like for every coin I bring in...it send a few to someone else? Smiley

It's called a leaky wallet. That will be my next project.

Great! Cheesy because if you can get that increase I'll be doing near 300 I think Smiley  maybe I'll be buying another 570... or maybe looking on ebay for 590 to test Cheesy
224  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Weird error! Help with starting to mine with GUIMiner (CUDA) highly appreciated! on: April 10, 2013, 09:37:18 PM
Can cudaminer then also mine alternative coins like TRC or PPC?

I'm not familiar enough with these to know what type of algo they use. If they use the same algo then yes.

225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: April 10, 2013, 08:31:20 PM
By popular vote, I will be further optimizing the CUDA code.

And boy, do I have some aces up my sleeves: Huge memory transactions (ulong4 vectors where each thread pushes 16 bytes around the block)

The test laptop I am testing on just jumped from 4kHash to 6kHash. So that's a 50% increase.

Yes, there are ways to jump the memory barrier.

Donations please! Wink

EDIT: My GTX 460 just jumped from 72 kHash to 93 kHash. Wow.

I'd like to do this for Christian.

I have now downloaded and fired up CUDAMiner (rpcminer-cuda.exe) but I am being greeted with this text:

"Could not retrieve work from RPC server."

What's wrong, and how or in what file can I write the address to the pool as well as the port number and my credentials?

Drkrills: Yeah, I'll surely keep that in mind!

That isn't cudaminer Smiley

This is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167229.0

real simple to use.

Open up command prompt to the directory for cudaminer

then do  cudaminer.exe -o server:port -O username:password

it will autotune your card for you

If you're doing bitcoin you'll need to change it with -a and specify SHA256

NVIDIA optimization #1, we can get around the lack of stratum support with a proxy miner for now.

228  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Weird error! Help with starting to mine with GUIMiner (CUDA) highly appreciated! on: April 10, 2013, 05:27:50 PM
Lookup CUDAminer. It is for litecoin by default, but you can change it.   This is designed for NVIDIA and will autoconfig for you.

It is based off of CGminer

229  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cudaminer - is it mining? on: April 10, 2013, 04:26:15 PM
Btw anyone else used Cudaminer for nvida cards? Going to look to test on a pair of quatros next and see what that can get me...

Quadro will not net you much because they really don't have a great number of cores.

My GTX 570 is getting around 165KH according to cudaminer. However, my pool is reflecting around 200 KH
230  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CUDAminer problem on: April 10, 2013, 11:30:42 AM
Seem to be having similar problems to people above.

I've downloaded the latest version, the autoconfig actually works pretty nice.

I have one issue that I CANNOT work out for the absolute life of me. Either I'm plain stupid, misread something, or something I'm doing is wrong.

So first of all, everything connects fine etc it says it detects my GPU, says it's using my GPU...everything is fine at this point.

However - my GPU is not being used at all to mine. It's 0%, meanwhile my CPU is being used (25%, goes higher if I use the computer obviously). So the problem I have is the miner is using my CPU instead of my GPU.

This happened with another couple of programs I tested as well. Using GUIMiner for BTC uses GPU fine though.

Is this happening to anyone else?

update graphic drivers, also what commands are you using to launch?

CUDA programs cannot be started on Remote Desktop. Need to use VNC instead.

Only exception is Tesla on TCC drivers.

use /console switch on RDP Smiley

What kind of performance would I get from a gtx 560 fermi?

Is it possible to allow the gpu to use system memory?

No one has tested at 560 yet. My 570 is getting 165

233  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CUDAminer problem on: April 10, 2013, 03:59:11 AM
Running the newer version now. So far, the stales seem to be lower.

However, the hashrate recorded on the server pool end seems to be about half of the speed I'm at client side.

See here: https://i.imgur.com/wc4TRhm.png

Any reason this may be the case?

It is how the server calculates. Let it run for a while it will get close to the hash rate you're seeing on the client.

My client says 165, but the server says 157. latency

the server I am using took about 10 minutes or more before it was reflecting my hash rate close to what I am getting now

cbuchner1, its good to see you posting on this thread. I was starting to despair about getting to the 4 hour newbie mark.

I've been testing the miner on several different pools. I've been getting anywhere from 50-100% stales, and even invalid shares.

I attach some images here for you to see.

https://i.imgur.com/hniLGEd.png

I run a GTX680 card and would also like to know how I can increase performance (newbie user here)

I currently just run the program with the following command in the command prompt:

cudaminer.exe -o http://ltc.kattare.com:9332 -O username.1:password

I really appreciate you taking the time out to answer this. Cheers!

Which version are you using? Previous version had high stale/reject rates  the 4-09 version has a very low rate maybe 2%?

If you're not using the newest one..then it would decrease your performance.

Please note the version released today was updated a couple times by Christian.  May want to download it again to make sure you have the newest one

You can also use -D to get the autotuning log and paste it here. It may be selecting an invalid setting for your card.

236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do you use a AMD Radeon HD 6870 to mine LTC? on: April 10, 2013, 03:12:57 AM
right, or just copy and paste Smiley and correct the area that need it.

I saw your edit on your previous post. Is your computer in another language? your card name isn't even showing. So maybe a language issue?

Drives are up to date?

238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do you use a AMD Radeon HD 6870 to mine LTC? on: April 10, 2013, 03:04:44 AM
download Cgminer

then you want to open command line to where you have put CGMINER.

then type cgminer -o  address:port -O Username:password  --thread-6720 --gpu-threads 1 --intensity 18 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 64 --no-submit-stale --auto-fan --temp-target 75 --gpu-engine 1050-1050 --gpu-memclock 1150

Lower the Intensity if you still want to use the PC while running

Change Address for the Address of the litecoin pool, and port for the port

Ok I already downloaded CGMINER I then created a folder on my desktop labled cgminer and extracted the zip file onto there. Then I clicked on the unziped folder and in the folder I clicked on "cgminer" as it was an application and then the command prompt asked me to put the url which I put http://litecoinpool.org:9332

I got the 9332 from some guy on youtube that was sort of showing people how to do this. Is the 9332 the accurate number? How would I figure out?

Then it asked for my username and password I put that and hit enter.

Now it looks like its mining.

However, I don't quite know what this stuff means?

can someone sort of help me understand what the heck this means exactly haha

Also, is 248.9M/250.5Mh/s accurate? Does that mean my AMD Radeon  HD 6870
is doing 250 MEGA Hashes per second? Or should it be Kilo Hashes?

Ok, you're doing litecoin Smiley  so you need 1 more command

cgminer --scrypt -o  address:port -O Username:password  --thread-6720 --gpu-threads 1 --intensity 18 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 64 --no-submit-stale --auto-fan --temp-target 75 --gpu-engine 1050-1050 --gpu-memclock 1150

Normally if you look at the help section for the pool you want to mine. They will tell you the address etc

Nevermind. it isn't even seeing your cards properly. Language issue maybe? I see Japanese character on the one print out.

Click View, Summary Console then try start

It will show you the Command Line command it is sending to the miner.

Copy and paste it here

2013-04-09 22:00:29: Running command: C:\Users\Master\Desktop\guiminer Scrypt\cgminer\cgminer.exe --scrypt -u 6135870.11 -p 132 -o stratum+tcp://us-pool.give-me-ltc.com:80 --gpu-platform 0 -d 0 -w 128 -v 1 -I 18 -g 1 -l 1 -T -v -w128 -f 25 --thread-concurrency 3200

-v command is being used twice...are you adding extra flags? did you add -v in the flags? which is vector
