221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Flippening - what are your thoughts? on: December 08, 2019, 02:29:07 AM
I have a lot of respect for Eth but i don't think Eth can outshine BTC when it comes to market cap. The dominance of BTC will be difficult to break bt any coin.
We can not know how the future will come. Even if there is any possibility, it will take a lot of time for the ethereum to defeat the current bitcoin dominance. This power won by btc for years will not be lost in a short time. In fact, when we compare both, ethereum is always taking new steps in development, but on the other hand btc is btc.

That argument that goes BTC is BTC is a million dollar argument. I think that is the most convincing reason why people will chase after BTC more than just other altcoins in the market. So many altcoins are much better than BTC in many many ways. There are better altcoins in terms of scalability, in privacy, in fast transaction but still Bitcoin is the name above every other name in crypto. ETH will have to settle down on a lower spot.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2020 Bull Run Speculation. Which Coins Will Go Through The Roof? on: December 08, 2019, 02:09:01 AM
yes im sure that the bull run would happen again in the future, but not in the near future. it still takes time.
decentraliced exchange hasnt took place in the next bull run. it still gets low interest from people. you can look at its volume, very low
coins which I believe, still top 10 cmc. those are the first to take altcoin marketcap rising.

It's a vague argument that the volume is low, and therefor a "bad investment". That's like saying Bitcoin was trash because nobody traded on MT.Gox at it's exception.
Decentralized exchanges is gonna change everything. It's gonna make all of crypto 100% accessable to anyone, in any country. GEO-blocking, KYC, Exchange hacks, wallet maintenance, exchange maintenance, you name it - Will never be an issue again. We'll trade crypto, like we share torrents with each other, with no one to stop us from doing it.

Centralized exchanges will be here for a long long time, but their dominance will FALL slowly, but surely. How many complaints have you seen lately over exchanges and their BS terms and conditions? I've seen loads.

I'm betting a huge amount of my portfolio on this, and for good reason. People are tired of government control.

You are most probably correct in saying that centralized exchanges will be here for a long long time but their strength will be dwindling when decentralized exchanges start to provide the traders the liquidity that they need. This will happen once traders will become full of the centralized requirements of getting personal information from them, locking their accounts, freezing withdrawals, having personal information and even wallets hacked, and so on. This will be the start of their downfall.
223  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you use FB's Libra? on: December 07, 2019, 04:28:30 AM
We can't said libra is not as volatile and decentralized assets because we don't know what will happen with libra when listing to public, become decentralized assets or only investment way without have connecting with crypto world, wait and see is better to know what will happen with Libra coin but I will get chance if Libra listing to public and invest little there.

As of now it looks like the plans for Libra have been put on cold storage by Mark Zuckerberg and David Marcus. During his last press meeting, Zuckerberg was saying that he'll go ahead with Libra only of he is given the necessary permission by all the regulatory authorities within the United States. From his body language, it looked as if he was hoping that the Americans would delay giving the permits. He is looking for a way out of this, but his ego doesn't permit him to admit the truth. This is what happens when someone bite off more than he can chew.

This is not really a case of biting off more than he could chew. This is a case of a rich and brilliant man, someone who has created an air of authority within him, having a hard time accepting that he is defeated. This is both good and bad in a way because this is also persistence on what you really wish to accomplish but at the same time this could also be construed as plain stubborn attitude. The game is still 50/50 at least if he wishes to keep it until the right time.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Flippening - what are your thoughts? on: December 07, 2019, 04:04:09 AM
ETH marketcap or any other altcoin no matter their development or whatsoever can never beat that of BTC. In as much as everyone is impressed about ETH's upcoming switch to POS, it's not a yardstick to compare with the pace setter (bitcoin). It's funny how people keep comparing these altcoins with bitcoin in terms of marketcap and all that, same way someone claimed XRP will beat BTC. All these things sound weird to me honestly.

That is why I cannot say that ETH will be overtaking Bitcoin. There is no flippening that is about to happen. ETH is very active and yet it remains to be just a leader of the altcoin world. It cannot be taking the throne which is solely designed for Bitcoin. Bitcoin will remain to be on top. There is not a possibility of the two exchanging spots. But again both of these coins will remain to be the leading figures in the coming December or 2020 bull run.

Ethereum Gets Another Big Development Boost From Ernst & Young
https://cryptonews.net/252607/?utm_source=CryptoNews&utm_medium=app&utm_campaign=shared

ETH is getting closer to PoS mechanism and this could boost ETH value to new highs, with BTC having halving in a six months period, what do you expect in near future or a long term, do you think that flippening (ETH marketcap to overcome BTC marketcap) is possible within 2021?

ETH developments are happening one after another. The team is very active. The partnerships are overflowing. The continuous integration with other updates are also clearly spelled out in the near future. These are all saying one thing, that there is a very bright future for Ethereum. Bitcoin is also facing the same. Together BTC and ETH will once again rule the bull run.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WHAT HAPPENS IF BTC TOUCHES 100K ? on: December 07, 2019, 03:23:43 AM
I know some people are doubting the ability of Bitcoin to reach $20k, I could remember which the price was in hundreds and saw a tweet that BTC would hit thousands, $10k and above, I did not believe, after that BTC has done more than 40X, the current price action is frustrating for the space but we need to understand that BTC moves in circle
I just saw someone on social media telling that it's impossible again for bitcoin to get back to $20k. Well, we just have to ignore people like them as if they don't have bitcoin to hold anymore. The top coins will go along with the bullish ride of bitcoin if it ever heads to $100k. You can have a thought on how much Ethereum would be if bitcoin reaches $100k, same goes with Litecoin and other popular names in the altcoins scene.

Who would have thought that Bitcoin will reach $20,000? Even I who have been an avid fan of Bitcoin was not thinking of this possibility when I first entertained the idea of buying Bitcoin. But then it happened. It was a statement of sort that Bitcoin could conquer whatever odds. It was a statement that everything's possible with Bitcoin. That goes with the altcoins that you mentioned.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future of bounty campaign. on: November 29, 2019, 02:21:31 AM
Day by day people are getting to know crypto currency, each day good number of interested people join the BitcoinTalk forum. The way the bounty qualifications and rank was in 2012 is not any more. Getting to the next rank is getting more difficult,KYC came in and many other changes, Now don't you think very soon most signature will only be opened to people from Full member and/or very few number will be given the chances of participation in many bounty campaign to have it convenient?

The mood among members of this forum in joining bounties have changed already. There was a time when bounty campaigns are flooded with participants, Jr. Members, Members, Full Members, and even up to Hero and Legendary members. But that slowly went away after so many failed projects, after so many instances where the participants are not receiving payments anymore. And there is also the scam projects that gave so much disappointment.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why invest on a project because someone said they are good? on: November 29, 2019, 01:49:05 AM
A friend from my street came by today to tell about a coin named LCC (Litecoin cash) and he told me he has already invested on the coin, i asked him what makes him invested in it, like what is the real use case of the coin and he have no straight answer, after a while i found out he invested in the coin because of what a analyst said about the project, are there people like this on here? after so many scams since 2018? i decide to do few diggings and i see that LCC is not that bad but my point is why invest on a project because someone said they are good?

It depends on who that someone is. If that someone is just a random guy from somewhere in the internet, then it is really not right investing on a particular coin. But if that someone is like Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates, I might consider investing on the coin. I have not invested on Litecoin Cash. Just by the name of the coin, I know it is nothing but a mere replica of the Bitcoin Cash of Bitcoin.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China vowed to "slash" crypto exchanges, bitcoin prices plummeted. on: November 28, 2019, 03:50:16 AM
And what exchanges will they be slashing in this implementation of a stupid decision? There are no large exchanges in their country in the first place because they are not friendly to cryptocurrency even before. What company would risk building an office in this country or operating from there when the pronouncements and decisions made in the past are nothing but negative to crypto? There will be small local exchanges though. Let them slash their own businesses then.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coin PUMP ? on: November 28, 2019, 02:43:55 AM
What preparations do you make to see the coins to be pumped?
Are you going to wait for a higher upward trend or choose to sell when you have a chance?

What preparation is needed anyway? I just wait for it. In fact I am not actively waiting most of the time. I monitor the news and the social media accounts of the coins that I have in my portfolio of course but I do not expect a pump everyday. Most of the coins in my portfolio are for long term investment. They will not be sold anytime there is a pump unless the pump is raising the price of the coins double overnight.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cyber criminals are using Youtube to install-Crypto jacking software on: November 28, 2019, 02:23:57 AM
If you are fond of watching Youtube and clicking links on it this is something you should be aware of
Quote
Slovakian software security firm Eset has uncovered that cyber criminals behind the Stantinko botnet have been distributing a Monero (XMR) cryptocurrency mining module via Youtube.

More of this story here:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/cyber-criminals-are-using-youtube-to-install-cryptojacking-malware

It is always best not to click on whatever link you can find in any site, even if that site is as popular as youtube or any other social media sites such as facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. It is not even good to open random mails and click on the links provided there. If you can see or receive mails or links through PMs in whatever site coming from a random account or user, better delete it immediately. Better safe than sorry.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your take? on: November 28, 2019, 01:52:03 AM
What is your take on the dwindling of the prices of cryptos? What do you think are the factors behind its fluctuation? What is your percentage (%) backing on crypto investments? How about your investment portfolio, is the return on your investments (ROI) encouraging? What is your advice to crypto investors now?
Let us discuss.

Let me take this one by one. First, my advice to crypto investors is to continue to HODL. In times like this, selling or giving up is the worst decision you could make. My portfolio is suffering right now just as the rest are also suffering. It is because, as you have mentioned, the prices are dwindling. This is not the time to be encouraged by the ROI. But there will be a time for that for sure. Everything right now is normal. The price dwindling is part of the daily life of a crypto investor.
233  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Long term prediction. on: November 27, 2019, 04:05:09 AM
guys, there is an opinion that November is the last bear month, then the bulran will start and then who is how much greedy, he will become so much richer))
We can see that on our own and for sure whales are so happy again because they already received a big amount of bitcoin on a convincing price. I'm more greedy to borrow some funds with my friends and planning to have more bitcoin, hoping for this one to happen and I'm so happy to those who are buying at a cheaper price with bitcoin and other altcoins, the long term prediction with bitcoin is still good and still possible to happen.

We are all bullish for Bitcoin but I hope it will not be as bullish as you will borrow money from your friends to buy Bitcoin. That is going out of  bounds. I don't go as far as that and I don't suggest that either. We are all bullish for Bitcoin but we are also aware that its price will still dip even more. That is always a possibility in the market. It is safe to just invest your own extra savings to avoid getting caught with responsibilities you might not be able to fulfill in the end.
234  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Weekly Update: Bulls Last Stand on: November 27, 2019, 03:18:31 AM
and now , we waiting for next bull , since china create a negative news after a positive news, somehow i just think we've been played by stupid rumor right that.
but , we cant do anything , i guess how strong they controlled crypto market after all.

It looks like we are all being fooled by certain powerful institutions here. Rumors and statements seem to play a very big influence in the prices of the cryptocurrencies. They can pump any time just because some kind of positive statement is released and then they can also dump anytime simply because a fake news is released. Why are we reacting to all these as if they are the ones who own the market?
235  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Are Women Slowly Leaning On To Crypto Trade? on: November 27, 2019, 02:52:49 AM
Well, that's actually the research show and not just on trading but in fact into crypto itself. Men are more into technology and investment while women are more focus on their respective careers. However, they are great on handling money and just invest on what they think it's best.

Trading not have know with your gender male or female,
It is and as long as you profited good, it doesn't matter. It's just that men are more keen on details in graph and can think more logically. Don't get me wrong on this, I'm also into gender equality.
I think it is hard to say that. I knew some women who are into with cryptocurrency more than some of my guy friends. I think it is more than just the gender if you think about it. It just so happened that the number of males who are into with technology especially some nerdy stuff than female though it is a matter of what the person's interests are. It all comes down to their environment and how open minded they are in accepting this new kind of way to earn by trading.

I also don't think that gender is a big issue in terms of cryptocurrency trading. There are male and female traders. It will not be equal because it is impossible to have equal male and female traders. The more important point is that there is no gender bias nor gender exclusion. There is nothing that says cryptocurrency trading is only for the males or the females and that the opposite sex is not allowed in the business.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Trading platforms can't be 100% fair on: November 27, 2019, 02:31:10 AM
There is a high chance that trading platforms aren't 100% fair when you are using them because they have to make money too, when you lose its a gain for them and when you win its a loss for them so why will they want you to always win? i've heard complains about few trading platforms that cheats people for example iqoption, always remember that they will never work for free, they want money just as you want money too

I don't think your loss will mean the gain of the trading platform. You are not trading against the platform. You are actually trading against other traders. In fact, to be more specific you are trading against yourself. If you are trading with a loss you are giving away your loss to other traders who made it right. But in terms of margin trading, it is against the platform.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Neo's Gas a hidden gem if there's a future altcoin season? on: November 27, 2019, 01:56:17 AM
First off a disclaimer: I have a small amount of Neo and Gas, (10 and 30 respectively) so I'm far from being a whale  Smiley Grin

What I didn't realise until this morning is the fact that Gas has a circulating supply of 10.1 million and a total supply of 17.1 million yet it currently costs $1.06 USD (down from it's ATH of $106 USD)

Current price seems incredibly cheap given the total supply, any thoughts on whether gas is a good investment/gamble?

It is cheap because it has already experienced a terrible backlash of supporters. Gas was popular in the past but after a few years of people continually asking the big deal of the coin and having found none, they eventually leave. NEO is the same. It was also very promising in the past but then it was left out in the competition and now NEO is already ranked far lower. If you are looking for cheap coins with very high ATH, go to the top 10-20 coins.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves Investors Beware!Sasha Ivanov keeps peoples funds on: November 26, 2019, 04:15:37 AM
I believe Sasha Ivanov has an account here. I forgot the username of his account on this forum but I am sure he has. I don't know if the man is still active though. But if he is, he should just give a little statement here to clarify everything once and for all, in any case this is not good for the image and reputation of the man and his Waves project. It will make Waves dirty if this will be left unattended. I hope this will be addressed sooner or later.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Government Could Shutdown Bitcoin? on: November 26, 2019, 03:48:10 AM
I read this article online that the government could stop the Bitcoin? Easily using a simple trick.
Making the bitcoin market price staying in under a 1000$ for a long time and wait for the people to lose interest in it.

For me, this is easier said than done, making the bitcoin market price lower than 1000$ would encourage investors to invest in bitcoin that will inevitably affect the market price.

What is your opinion about this? Could the government do this?

https://bitcoinist.com/bitcoin-could-be-stopped-by-governments-pretty-simply/

This is an absurd plan, poorly thought out. How can it be successful when they cannot control everyone else? If they are willing enough to spend billions just to convert the price down to $1,000, they can do so. But they will also have to spend another billions to counter the rising demand of Bitcoin by the time it came down on that very cheap price. They should brace themselves for stronger demand while the price is falling down. Investors are interpreting it as an opportunity.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will the price of Ethereum be tomorrow? on: November 26, 2019, 03:24:21 AM
Tomorrow Ethereum will be valued at $152. This is according to my own analysis. The previous days were bad for Ethereum and the entire market. Prices were plunging deep and even Bitcoin fell down lower than $7,000. That was the previous days though. For now, the market is obviously recovering. Bitcoin itself has gone back to $7,000. Ethereum is also rising again. This is not the end of the green. Tomorrow, the green days will continue until Ethereum will reach $152.
