I had an idea for making a provably fair raffle if you are interested. There would be no way you could possibly know the outcome.

I'm on level 4 of the trial but having a tough go of it. Not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for. But it's fun trying to figure it out.

225  Economy / Games and rounds / Raffle for 0.01 BTC Provably Fair on: January 31, 2014, 02:04:43 AM
I'm just doing this for fun and to kill some time. There will be 11 tickets, each ticket will cost 0.001 BTC. First post that you are planning to buy and then update with your transaction details to save your spot.
Please send BTC to wallet address: 1Nw5JAAuSsq77YAJsPEt4FbBQByFDpLDyu

I have thought alot about things being provably fair and how to ensure that. I think I have come up with a good plan and here it is:
Provably Fair

A randomly generated 7 digit number is created using Random.org and an image is uploaded online. The number and the link are then hashed (using this form: 1234567_link) and the resulting hash is displayed at the bottom of the raffle for you to verify after the raffle has concluded. Each spot in the raffle is purchased and has a unique transaction ID. The first number in this transaction ID is used i.e. c5a93b86654df5c31d04e9465e8510be1445bf1822f727fe08c31bd17f3g81ca
is registered as 5. All transaction numbers are added together (5+x+x...) until a sum is reached and that number is multiplied by the random 7 digit number. That number is then divided by the total number of entrants into the raffle to choose the hash # that will be used in the next step. The number is divided by the total number of entrants as many times as needed until a suitable number is reached. All numbers are rounded to the nearest whole integer.
EXAMPLE: If the random number was 8349215, the transactions total was 27, and the total number of spots in the raffle are 11.
8349215*27=225428805    225428805/11=20493527.7273
That number then divided again and again by 11 eventually gives you 11.56... which would be round up to 12 meaning we would have to divide again to get 1.0516... meaning the first spot in the raffle will be chosen to provide the hash.
The last 10 digits of the hash will then be input at http://we.lovebitco.in/raffle.html with the correct number of entrants and the winner of the raffle will be chosen.

I think this fully satisfies me not having any idea what the outcome of this could be until after the last ticket is bought.

Hash: b3a55ee873731f6a36c29f20140ca3df95df66f7ca3fea6915b576f41b98734c

Good luck!

If raffle is not concluded within the next day I will refund all funds minus the transaction fee.

You could use a blockchain address and the minimum transaction amount needed and have people post their wallet address in the comments on the blockchain. No matter how much you send you get a set amount of coins based on the time of your transaction so sending more coins won't benefit anyone.
The first group of 50+ gets one amount, the second group gets a decreasing amount, the third group gets a smaller, etc.
Plus you could have bonus or lottery sends every 50 or 100 transactions.
The final amount in the wallet would be minimal and you could offer it as a bounty, etc. for development or promotion
Can't see what will stop me from sending 100 transactions from different addresses.

Obviously you want to make sure no accts after yesterday. Can you not do 1 per ip?
Proxylists, TOR, dynamic IP.

True. What about assigning your post #/forum name on here as well as the wallet address so that it can be referenced. Then you can verify the history of the poster?

237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Lost wallet password but I have the wallet.aes.json file, what can I do? on: January 19, 2014, 08:52:15 AM
I was using a password manager which crashed and lost all of my passwords. I was able to reset most of them but my wallet password is lost and I have no idea what it could be. Its either 10,12, or 30 random characters. I have the json file which text starts with a 78yu and was hosted on blockchain.info. There isn't probably very much in there, but is there any way to recover it?

Wow, which password manager was that?
If you have previous backups of the password database, you could try to open those.

Password safe. I did have a backup in the cloud but it somehow got corrupted. I know the password for it but it will not work. I've tried about 1000 variations of that password but none of them work. I did an export password function on the new version of it and it added 2 random characters to the end of my password, which is strange. I have since changed password managers.

Just received my withdraw! Thanks!
There was a mix-up where support thought I used a voucher, but it was all cleared up and they processed my withdraw. Thanks again!
240  Economy / Gambling / Re: CoinBet Casino, Sportsbook - Now offering up to 200% Match Bonus up to $10,000! on: January 19, 2014, 01:17:39 AM
I opened an account and didn't use a voucher. I deposited $27 just to try it out. I lost that $27 and then picked up the $54 first deposit bonus. I checked the transactions page and it stated that for me to withdraw I had to hit the $2000 plus rollover requirement. Fair enough. I used that $54 and actually was able to meet the rollover requirement. I went to cash out and was told that I had to deposit $54 to match my bonus and then hit the rollover requirement again? This doesn't seem right.
I understand the rollover and it being so high to encourage and reward people for playing. I feel like I'm not being treated fairly though. I already met the rollover requirement but am not allowed to withdraw.
Bonuses should be bonuses, and I completely agree that getting a payout on them should be difficult. But, I went through that difficulty, got lucky, and now am being told I have to deposit an amount equal to the bounus and then I have to risk it all again to hit the rollover requirement?
That isn't right.

*EDIT* - I see that according to the Terms and Conditions I have to have purchased at least $50 USD to be able to withdraw. I have sent funds to match my bonus and will make a few bets. I still don't think it's fair that I have to meet the rollover requirements AGAIN.

*2nd EDIT* - Please see the positive resolution below!

Thanks!
