221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is Gambling Like Investing on: May 16, 2017, 01:03:48 PM
Gambling can and never will be like investing.

The otherway around is possible though. If you blindly invest in anything that comes along, that makes it gambling.
Gambling too can be considered as an investment when you get an assured earning through the same. Such an access is possible only when you make an investment upon the gambling house rather than just gambling regularly on several events as well on Casinos.
If I am understanding you correctly, you are saying that the only way that gambling is like investing is if you are the house, or own a part of a casino.  To this i would agree.  All gamblers agree, if you could be the house why gamble?

Bitcoin Market Cap passes 30 Billion.  Where to? $100 billion?

Why not?

TESLA is 53B$, Facebook is 435B$, Microsoft is 535B$, Apple is 799B$...

30B$ is no where big already. I think bitcoin has the potential to surpass facebook, microsoft and apple. That means we are still in its early phase. Even if we catch up with Tesla, that means another %100 increase in prices. Doesn't sound impossible to me considering the pump going on lately.

The only thing bothers me is the fees with small transactions.  Huh

Good example. 100B$ is very achievable especially when bitcoin solves some problems and issues circulating them. With or without ETF approval bitcoin is heading there depending on its developments.

I think tesla itself is in a bubble, but bitcoin hasn't penetrated mainstream yet to reach the valuations of facebook, microsoft or apple. 100B$ is achievable but to sustain it we need to get closer to where those three internet companies are in terms of market penetration, right now most people have heard of bitcoin but only a minority have ever used it so the price is still not really secure.

Don't get me wrong I firmly believe we will get there relatively soon especially with all the good news coming out but I don't think it will be an easy or smooth ride there.
Good point, one of the biggest challenges for Bitcoin is massive user adoption.  Without more people coming aboard to use it, it could hamper the potential market cap.
223  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin To Soon Reach $1700 on: May 16, 2017, 09:35:45 AM
Upper weekly BB is right around $1700... BTC may indeed soon reach $1700

Boom.... of course, everyone in this thread had their uberbull blinders on, so they were confused because we were already above $1700 Roll Eyes
Preev shows we are just  1 dollar below the $1700 mark right now and am starting to believe the bubble has burst as we have lost over 100 dollars price mometum just today Cry

hope price will correct itself back to a +1800
Still hovering just under $1,700.  Let's see if it will hold and resurge.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs! [Predict & Bet] on: May 15, 2017, 06:35:20 AM
Amamzing game last night between GSW and SA.  Big loss of leanord, wonder if SA can recover from the way they lost.  Will Leanord be back for game 2?  Does it make a difference?  GSW should ride the momentum of their win.

NBA Conference Finals [Game 1] May 15, 2017

Which team do you think will advance to the Championship from East?

East
  • Spurs vs Warriors - @ Golden State

NBA Conference Semi-Finals [Game 7] - Series tied 3-3 - May 16, 2017

Which team do you think will advance to the Finals from West?

West
  • Wizards vs Celtics - @Boston

i'd like to see the spurs take it all the way this year though if we look at it at a normal perspective, with the absence of tony parker and with kahwi not sure of being 100%, its likely we'll be seeing a third finals meeting for the cavs and warriors. with the east semifinal going 7 games between the celtics and the wizards, I don't see any of these teams going beyond 5games in a series with lebron
I guess today we will see if the Spurs can start their way.  I don't think they can beet GSW.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What did you buy for money won? on: May 11, 2017, 10:41:03 AM
I will buy a high end pc gaming for my own room if i won big amount of money on gambling. The problem is it's hard to won much money on gambling, rofl. But if someday i won big amount of money, i will buy it for sure and give it some to my parents and my brothers.
Sounds like a good plan.  But be careful because sometimes a big win ends up costing more in future gambling losses.  Most people  think you will do it again.

I agree.  Bitcoin was built with the potential to have market cap in the trillions.  Very interesting how it is going.

Price is consolidating towards $1800 back after a small dump seen in a matter of minutes when Bitcoin reach $1750 new ATH, it is currerntly $1779 and no matter what happens with the mining issues, we are not stopping hereby. I see it crossing $2000 in no time if we will be running at such high speed.

Sounds very reasonable as price is now over $1,800.  We shall see.... www.urbancrypto.com

I think now it would be good time to buy some bitcoins if you people did not buy it till now, i am thinking to invest more money my self. But now you must ask me why it is good to invest money in bitcoin. Well its simple... price of bitcoin have grown more than 1000$ for last maybe 3 years, when was first time i heard about bitcoin. Now in less than 7 days price jumped from 1200$ to 1600$. There you go, really good opportunity to earn some easy money Cheesy .
True, now over $1,700.  Makes you wonder when to buy and if there will be a correction www.urbancrypto.com
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: May 07, 2017, 08:23:32 AM
How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?
I know that i am late to this board, but it is my understanding that if one miner or owner of bitcoin controls more than 50% control they could potentially ruin the system.  Thoughts?

Yes, I am currently buying Bitcoin, although not too much.
I am buying a little bit of Bitcoin as an investment (both long term and a bit of day trading).
I agree that I would buy bitcoin as an investment and not trade to much.

I also buy bitcoin for trade and investment. But now the price is very high. So I decided to wait a little. It seems to me that soon it will become lower. Now there is no point buying for short-term investment
Interesting point.  But be careful, it may continue to rise and yoiu could lose th eopportunity.  Have a look at our bitcoin thoughts www.urbancrypto.com
238  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is life so hard/complicated? on: May 07, 2017, 06:42:58 AM
I think its so complicated because of the elite and their rules. They want to keep us obedient and productive so there are all these rules to follow. Which makes everything you try to do complicated.
I definite;y hear you.  Try to ignore the elite and live the best life you can.

240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs! [Predict & Bet] on: May 04, 2017, 10:27:55 AM
There are some great teams this season in the playoffs but once again I think it will be GSW and Cleveland Cavilers in the NBA finals for the 3rd season in a row. I would like to see 2 other teams but I can't see it, maybe the Spurs can make it through. I think a dark horse to make it to the finals would be the Chicago Bulls who have been great this season.
I'm not sure with your prediction, the warriors are not that dominant this season and they are having a hard time with the Nurkicless Blazers, maybe let's see if they can get past the firsts round, I still believe the Blazers are underrated although they have one of the best back court duo in the person of Lillard and Mccolum.
I am not sure how you can say that GS is not as dominant when they won 67 games, averaging 69 over the last three years.  I would be surprised if SA can get there.

Well gsw for me is still the team to beat though i agree that compared to their regular season feat last year, this year's campaign is not as dominant considering the acquisition of kevin durant. In the end though, just like last season, what matters is you get the ring and i like gsw's chances this time against most likely the spurs and cavs
I think that their approach this year was totally different as they didn't push for any record.  Also remember that when Durant was injured they lost 4-5 games.  What would their record have been if that didn't happe? No one knows. Go Dubbs.
