221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRE-ICO] LoanBit - P2P lending & investment on: October 02, 2017, 06:58:45 PM
There is another Project called LoanBit:
https://loanbit.net/

appears to be a HYIP (but I am not sure).
This could lead to some confusion.

Hey!
Does somebody else have problems with staking?
For me it stopped staking at the weight equal to my balance. Is this normal? I have never gotten a reward so far (within a couple of weeks)!

223  Other / Off-topic / Re: Desktop or Laptop?Why? on: October 01, 2017, 01:46:56 PM
Laptop!
It's portable and for me personally way more useful, because I don't play Videogames (which would be the main argument for Desktop).
At home I am using a second monitor, so basically no disadvantage towards desktop! Smiley

There seems to be a lot of confusion how Activity Points work.
I was reading through the last sites, but I have not found a definite explanation of AP.
Did I just miss it? If yes, could someone link me to it?

Greetings!  Smiley

activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Time is a number of 2 week periods in which you have posted at least ONCE. Even if your account was from 2013 it doesn't mean that it can have a few hundred of activity points. Posting over time is more important than making a lot of posts in a one period. Activity is updated every hour so be patient and don't write thousand posts why your activity didn't change.

Yeah, that's easy to get, however, I got to 28 AP pretty fast (Some other users were mentioning this aswell) and now it appears I am stuck at 28 (for a few days now).
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: ELIXIR (ELIX) Mobile Lending App Announced (ELIX On CoinExchange) on: September 30, 2017, 08:44:01 AM
Hey I recently came across this project. I find it really interesting and would like to know more about it.
I've got a couple of questions, please don't be mad if they have already been answered in this thread.

1. I feel like the Roadmap is planned really tight. Is the Team big enough to follow it and deliver in time?
2. The only reason for a borrower not to pay back his loan is the "Optional ether collateral supplied by the borrower" (WP) what other incentive should a borrower have to not just take loans and run away with it (he could do this over and over if I am not mistaken)?
3. Are there any plans to connect this system with other branches (like margin trading) to incentivize people to even use it? I feel like, without this, people would just mine it through borrowing to themselves over and over, which would make ELIX kind of useless in the end.
4. is there a plan to release a more detailed WP?
5. Are there Plans to reveal the Team? I think this would bring great trust!

Sorry again if these questions have already been adressed!

Greetings!
 Smiley

1. We're on track to deliver the products in the Roadmap. We believe it's a realistic time frame.
2. This question has been answered well in this Reddit post.
3. The incentive for people to use the ELIX lending service is the reward generated for paying back a loan, or the reward received for being repaid. As stated in the whitepaper, clever mining between pairs of personal addresses is expected, but there is a limit to how much more reward can be generated using clever mining.
4. Yes. We realize a lot of new updates have been released recently.
5. Yes.

Thank you really much for your answers.
I like the idea of reputation systems. Really interested about the future Applications!

Nothing, I think most are of above average intelligence by necessity.

Oh wow, please tell me the channels you are in!!!!!
 Cheesy Cheesy

Maybe I've just met more retards among the average population, I know plenty of people who wouldn't understand cryptocurrencies if you carved an explanation in their forehead.

Half the people you meet have an I.Q under 90, that's as dumb as a bag of hammers.

You are describing a good amount of people I met in crypto-space (mainly telegram channels, some post here, ...)
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In your opinion, whats wrong with the current Crypto-Community? on: September 29, 2017, 01:45:27 PM
Can you guys think of what the next FAD will be after 99% of these ICOs have suckered people out of their bitcoin? What is the next moneymaker for scammers?
That question would fit in an extra Post!  Wink

Why don't you ask what is right?

What kind of question is that?  Huh

Nothing, I think most are of above average intelligence by necessity.

As stated in the title, what do you think is the biggest problem in the Crypto Community?
Is it reallу wrong with us? I thought everything is ok. Smiley

Ofc, I am not talking about everybody... Wink

As stated in the title, what do you think is the biggest problem in the Crypto Community?

They don't have self decission mechanism in their minds. They always ask for external people for their daily trade actions. They're not patient, in any bad case, they start blaming the coins and projects.

This sums up one aspect really good!!!

230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Copying of code on: September 29, 2017, 12:34:39 PM
99% of coins you see around here are clones, 99% of coins who announce a feature just clone the feature from another wallet.

Sure, but its ridiculous that some are not even trying to hide their (appearent) inability to program.
And its even more ridiculous, that there are tens of thousands of people, not caring about this fact.
But I guess I am not the first one criticising projects getting millions of dollars for nothing but a good idea...
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Copying of code on: September 29, 2017, 12:32:14 PM
There are only a few coins who really have developers who are doing more then just copy pasting code from others. Once you learn to identify them early on, be ready to make a lot of money.

I am getting better and better...Smiley
Thanks for the reply!

Cant't wait to become Member to join the Campaign!
As far as I understood there are 40 Airdrop Cycles (each one week) and we are currently at the 11th Cycle?
so I will get the Memeber in Rank in around 5 weeks so I sould be able to join in at 17th Round, am I right?

You only need to be Junior Member with the new rules.

Oh, really? that would be awesome!
However, when I click on apply on https://deeponion.org/community/apply.php it says:
Your current member position is not eligible for using our signatures. Keep up and increase your level to at least Member so you can add our signatures to participate and apply again.

Is it just not updated yet?
Would be really cool if I could start soon! Smiley
Your current user level is "Newbie", so you need to wait a bit longer until you hit Junior Member to be able to apply (assuming you registered on or before Sept. 1st)

Ok, thanks, I am currently trying to figure out how the ranking system work...
Your activity updates once every 14 days. It updates on the same day for everyone on BCT. You can get 1 activity point per day by making one post. You could also make all 14 posts on the same day for a given 14-day period, but you can only get a total 14 activity per 14 days.

I think it might be possible to only make 4 posts during one 14 day period and then do 28 posts in the next 14-day period to get the full 28 activity for both periods, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Activity levels are listed in the meta forums, I believe it was 40 for Junior, 70 for Member, 120 for Full member, 240 for Senior and then 500 something for Hero. Legendary was a random thing from 700 or 800 activity onward. Check the meta section for accurate numbers.

The last update was 1 or 2 days ago and since you're at 28 activity you could get up to 42 activity in about 12 days, which would make you a Junior Member and thus capable of joining the DO airdrop (if you registered before September 1st).

Apperently, to become a Jr. Member you need 30 activity points and, on a side note, it appears at the beggining that 14 day-14 AP rule doesn't apply to new members, because I got to 28 AP in around 14 days and other Users reported that aswell.
But whatever, I'll see and join in as soon as I can, better to discuss Topics regarding DeepOnion in here!
Thanks for your help!

Greetings!  Smiley
234  Other / Meta / Re: Question regarding reporting users on: September 29, 2017, 11:25:48 AM
Yesterday I reported a User for spreading his reflink in a way that Users could easily be tricked into using it, so I reported him.
I saw that there was some kind of statistic wether you are/were right or wrong on this.
Does this in any way impact any of my profile statistics? Do I get punished for being wrong or rewarded for being right?
Sorry if this has already been answered!

Greetings!  Smiley

I think it's extremely helpful to the moderators, but that's about it. If you read here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2166379.0

You'll note they mention that, '...in general there's no need to worry about accuracy too much.'

So I would assume as long as you're not abusing the tool and reporting someone you don't like just for the hell of it, you should be fine.

Hope that helps.

That helped! Smiley
Thank you really much!

I dont' know the projects but I guess one project is simply a fork from the other one. You could see a fork as a simple copy of the current project code is forked from. You do this to start independent development on it, creating a distinct and separate piece of software.

Just take a look at Bitcoin forks:
    Bitcoin XT
    Bitcoin Classic
    Bitcoin Unlimited
    Bitcoin Cash
    Litecoin

At first, think you for your response.
I am well aware of forks, however in this specific case (ETHD-Nova) the Dev appears to be trying to sell his Project as "standalone" even though it appears, he just copied the code, so my question refered more to how usual this is.
Ofc, in the end almost all projects are derived from earlier ones.

AIRDROP #2 is still being sent out

Posting asking about it or PM’ing abi or me will result in disqualification from the airdrop

AIRDROP #3 will be announced when it is ready and when round 2 has completed.

mybe you simply dont understand!!! this is where the dev started and this forum is where i will go to find the info! if you or he pulls the info off this forum then  your following could drop considerably!

and if you read my posts...Huh
you are just his DOINK /Dildo/Durpa  who posts for him and i am not addressing you!
i am addressing
@abi18
not you
 can you read?

Dont expect any serious answers here, its always the same blah blah, everybody in here is shilling this coin and is blind for the facts (I am NOT talking about airdrops...)

Greetings Smiley

The responses to his questions are clearly in the links posted, and from the stats a large number of readers are more then happy with having their queries answered this way and waiting for further answers.

Will look forward to presenting the whitepaper when it’s ready and any new information as it’s available

#TeamETHD

Looking forward to the WP aswell!  Wink

Hey there, I hope this is the right place to ask.

I was wondering how usual it is for projects to just copy code of older/ already existing projects.
I know, that it is quiet usual to just copy certain parts of code, but I'd like to know in which extend this normally happens.

I came across ETHD which is derived from NovaCoin, however the Code is almost COMPLETELY the same...I feel like other projects modify it at least a bit.

ETHD Github      :  https://github.com/abi2018/wz37da
NovaCoin Github : https://github.com/novacoin-project/novacoin

It would be nice to know in which extend code normally gets copied.

Greetings
