221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Appreciation of rate Ethereum in 2018 on: May 10, 2018, 07:00:59 AM
Will Ethereum able to replicate Bitcoin's growth by the analogy of last year?
I think it is too soon for ETH to reach the speculated price, after all it only got some good erc20 tokens and some shitty ICO erc20 tokens going for it, which doesn't really have real world use aside from speculation. IMO it needs more tokens with real world use cases in order for it to reach 2500$.
222  Economy / Speculation / Re: will the end of the year bitcoin rise to $ 20,000? on: May 10, 2018, 06:32:57 AM
will bitcoin at the end of the year be $ 20,000?
For now, I can't imagine how bitcoin will reach 20,000$ by the end of this year and I dont know what news/factor will drive bitcoin price up to the target price(but I have my guess, and that is the implementation of lightning network/segwit). Nevertheless, I think it is possible for bitcoin to reach the speculated price in the said date.
223  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: REGULATION OF CRYPTOCURRENCY on: May 10, 2018, 05:56:00 AM
1. What does regulation mean for cryptocurrency?
Regulation of cryptocurrency merely is the rules and laws discussing what should be and what shouldn't be done when using it. When implemented, government keeps constant watch of it.
2.Do you think this will have positive or negative impact on the cryptocurrency world?
IMO, regulation is a good thing since it will lessen scams in crypto world, and will encourage others to use it as well. The only downside of regulation is tax.
3. With regulation, will the aim of the founders of Bitcoin be defeated?
Not really, because satoshi intended for bitcoin to be used as a means to settle payments(to be used as a currency) in a decentralized way. Even if there are regulatory rules, governments will not be able to control bitcoin.
224  Economy / Economics / Re: Bubbles on: May 09, 2018, 02:10:16 PM
As soon as any crypto currency will not have demand and the price will fall in a matter of hours - this can be called a bubble in the cryptomir. And such a moment can happen even with bitcoin.
If it would be a crypto bubble, I agree with you that it can happen suddenly without notice, and bitcoin really is the main candidate for it because of too much hype and FOMO it had recently(when it had reached prices near ATH). IMO there are still some holding left, and some other noobs buying now hoping to see btc price soar to ATH in the near future which I think might not happen. If it isn't in bitcoin, I believe the next bubble would be petro.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The 6 Top Cryptocurrency Alternatives to Bitcoin on: May 09, 2018, 10:40:03 AM
it depends on what you have in your head when you say "alternative to bitcoin"?
literary anything that is not bitcoin is called altcoin which is short for alternative cryptocurrency. so yeah all the coins you listed plus about 1700 others are alternative to bitcoin.
But OP here is describing in his thread the "top 6 crypto alternatives to btc" and not just merely alternative to bitcoin itself. Even though that is the case, this list was merely based on his subjective point of view and is not based on facts(since he didn't include his' source for it).
Many people believe that the top 6 cryptocurrency alternatives to Bitcoin are: Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero, Stellar, and Vechain Thor. Do you agree?
I agree that coins listed here(specially the ones I marked in the bold) really deserves to be called top 6 cryptocurrency alternative to bitcoin but where have you got the data for this? If possible, please include the link of your source.
226  Economy / Speculation / Re: Not a good time to buy, according to this source on: May 09, 2018, 07:30:19 AM
So, what do you guys think? Is really not a good to buy?
IMO now is not a good time to buy but it is still not a bad idea to do it now(since based on history, what people refer to as high prices now will be a low price in the future). So if you are planning to buy now, the best course of action you can take is to hold it until you have reached your desired amount of profit and rebuy again at a lower price(lower than your last exit point). That way you can multiply your bitcoins(but do not sell all of your portfolio if ever you plan to sell so that when it pumps, you stil got some coins to sell).
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Are Crazier, Speculative Things Says Bill Gates on: May 09, 2018, 07:00:39 AM
Anyway hasn't he spoke positive of bitcoin in the past?? Undecided
He did spoke positively for Bitcoin in the past as he claimed that bitcoin was better than currency in 2014. I am confused now as to why he is criticizing it now? From what I see he wants to bring btc price down(so he could buy more) and in the near future, I see him claiming that he regrets calling bitcoin a fraud like how Jamie Dimon and J.P Morgan regrets commenting negative things about btc.
228  Economy / Economics / Re: As Altcoin Popularity Grows So Does Crime; Is Regulation Keeping Up? on: May 09, 2018, 06:30:18 AM
Here's a nice read on the growth of cryptocurrency vis-a-vis the attacks that seem to hinder it also:

"Since they first hit financial markets, and moreso as their popularity expands, cryptocurrencies—specifically the decentralized digital technology that underlies alt-currencies—have also been a lure for individuals looking for an efficient way to hide their identities, activities and illegal financial transactions. Even as the number and types of tokens proliferate, certain alt-currencies have also become the aiders and abbetors of criminal activity, darkside coins if you will."
It really doesn't hinder cryptocurrecy, it's just that some people are afraid to try out decentralized online currencies, or what we call cryptos because they have been used to using centralized mode of payment. What also hinders crypto is the fact that it can only be used when there is an internet, which some people doesn't have access to. What needs to be figured out for now is how cryptocurrencies can be used offline without needing the internet connection.
229  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NEW guy with a simple question. THANK YOU! on: May 09, 2018, 05:52:22 AM
Hey Guys, I was hoping that some of you might be able to turn a new-prospective investor on to some of the best threads to establish my understanding of the marketplace. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!
I suggest you try to lurk on trading discussion section or in speculation (since there are a lot of information there that can be used to establish the current status of a market, specially on wall observer thread in speculation). You can asily find threads there containing analysis, suggestions and questions that have been answered by others that might help you establish better grapsh of the marketplace.
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Japanese run the BTC price! on: May 08, 2018, 11:36:10 PM
If it closes below 8800 it will be ugly!
Yen is over 50 percent of volume!
We are at their mercy!
That's just volume and not total holdings, so we aren't at their mercy. Other countries like Russia, America, etc. have more holders when compared to Japan, and them dumping would just look puny when compared to holders of those countries dumping. Do not worry about volume since it will subside soon when btc becomes more adopted by countries. Volume will eventually be evenly distributed among many countries.
231  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinbase Announces Support for Ethereum ERC20 Tokens on: May 08, 2018, 01:21:32 PM
I think this might happen by end of this year or even later because they just said they have idea to add the ERC20 tokens to their wallet but still no new about when it will happen.
Will coinbase also offer exchanging of erc20 tokens to fiat currency? That would be really great if they did(since I have many erc20 tokens that I want to convert before this year ends). I also wonder though, will this spark erc20 token's popularity to newbies and the public masses as well? If that is the case, then it would really be great for crypto in general(because adoption rate will increase).
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it a Good time to Buy Cardano ? on: May 08, 2018, 12:27:09 PM
Today Cardano [ADA] cost about $0.268819 USD.
Is it a good time to buy, or do you think it may go down again ?
IMO Cardano has a lot of potential to go above 0.5$ considering it has gone down for a while. It still got potential for long term growth. In fact, Cardano is one of the coins better held than traded short term. The chance of it surviving until 2021 is high, so I guess holding it until 2021 or until the target price has reached(in my case 0.5$ has been reached successfully).
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where can my friends buy bitcoins and other cryptos? on: May 08, 2018, 11:47:53 AM
Anywhere else?

We are located at Indonesia, Singapore, US.

(by fiat of course, otherwise there are tons of options)
I would also vouch for coinbase and localbitcoins since it is easy to buy bitcoins there in many countries. I also suggest coinhako, it is the fastest way to buy btc in Singapore IMO but you won't be anonymous if btc transaction volume is large(since it will require identity verification), fees are also low. I also recommend unocoin for your Indian friend, it is the best exchange to buy into locally in India(but it is regulated by Indian government). For your American friend, he should just use coinbase.
234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Few advices on how to avoid scams on: May 08, 2018, 11:12:11 AM
One more thing...be aware of scammy exchanges. In the future I will probably write a blog on that topic and post it here.

You must be aware that each exchange is not automatically trustworthy. So for your own good also do research about exchanges, check the reviews, forum topics etc.
Nice advice you got there, I would also like to give advice to others regarding scams. My advice is to "not invest on coins who gives you returns every now and then, which I would refer to as Ponzi coins". What I am referring g to here is coins like bitconnectx who promise you constant percent of returns in your investment but ends up as a Ponzi scheme in the end. Such coins are made to scam people.
235  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Sees Wall Street Warm to Trading Virtual Currency on: May 08, 2018, 08:50:16 AM
The mother of manipulators want to come into cryptocurrencies? Not too bad but we should be ready for high level of price manipulations as we know how those guy do manipulate stocks price. However this is also a good news as we can find out that at list this will be an adoption.
Wouldn't that make markets more interesting to trade into? Let them manipulate market so long as they can, let's just try to ride the wave they will create. You are right though that this news is a significant boost in adoption rate of cryptocurrencies in general. Nevertheless, I do hope that those big players of stocks wouldn't overdo the manipulation, since it can be unhealthy for btc and crypto in the long run.
236  Economy / Economics / Re: Taxation on: May 07, 2018, 10:58:32 PM
Taxation on bitcoin within a country sounds unfair right but still we need to obey what the law is.Taxation of bitcoin means the government already accepted the crypto world its better than restricting or banning bitcoin.
It still sounds fair considering how everything is also taxed. Taxation of btc doesn't only shows government's acceptance of btc, it also shows their interest to benefit from the tech behind it(Blockchain).
Crypto-to-fiat transactions will be subject to taxation in Azerbaijan, local news outlet Trend reported Saturday
Do you think this has benefits?
Everything has benefits so taxation of crypto transactions in Axerbaijian is not an exemption. It will benefit all of crypto users there, since their transactions will be considered legal and not under the government's radar. Also, it is a good way to publicly promote Bitcoin(since some citizens hear about those news and information about BTC gets disseminated into them).
237  Other / Meta / Re: Ban account on: May 07, 2018, 11:34:24 AM
Move on, it was just a  junior member account. We have the next activity period tomorrow, so if you just complete rest 25 posts in next 2 days, this profile will become a junior member. Also it is a good idea to keep your password saved somewhere safely if you want to use the profile here for something important.
Don't you know the rules? According to the official rules in this forum as stated in this thread made by mprep:
25. Ban evasion (using or creating accounts while one of your accounts is banned) is not allowed.[e]
In your post, you are encouraging him to break this rule. This is a bad behavior IMO and needs to be corrected. You might not have full knowledge of the forum rules, so next time don't do the same again and take time to read the rules on pinned threads here in meta(or go in the link I gave you since it is the same thread).
238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to know if the bounty is legit or scam??? on: May 07, 2018, 09:08:19 AM
i want to join in any social media bounty..how to know if its a legit bounty???
If you know how to trade, then picking your social media bounty is the same as picking the coin you want to invest into. First of all, do your own research about the coin, it's team and see if they are active in the development of the team(since it greatly contributes to the success of a project). Second is to read whitepaper, and determine if concept is good and bad(you can ascertain that it's concept is good if it has real use cases and is better than any other alts in the same field if there are any). Last but not the least, look at the reputation of the bounty and community manager. They are sometimes the cause of people's mistrust to project, and is a great factor for it's success.
239  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens to bitcoin? up or down? on: May 07, 2018, 08:31:27 AM
So we can't say for certain if 1 week is enough to get over the 5 digit mark once again.
At the very least, I can ascertain that 2 weeks is not enough to completely break 10,000$ wall. IMO, it would take at least 3 weeks or more than a month for us to see bitcoin back in the bullish trend. Nevertheless, it is nice to see the slow rise and little corrections occur day by day(since they are good entry and profit taking points). For now, I think price movements in the next coming weeks are the ones who will dictate the short term market move.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In Southeast Asian country, bitcoin player is exceed stock market player, right? on: May 07, 2018, 07:24:03 AM
but generally speaking bitcoin is still very small and doesn't have that many investors which means the number of stock investors are a lot higher than bitcoin investors in any country.
Nevertheless, it is still a well known fact that some countries in South East Asia are bitcoin friendly, and soon bitcoin trading volumes would get bigger.
I am surprised that the central bank of Indonesia does not prohibit trading floors from listing shares, suggesting that investors limit their ownership, sale or transaction of tokens. The Central Bank of Indonesia does not consider dollars to be legal.
What did you know about it?
Do not be surprised, they won't prohibit it if they benefit from it. I strongly suspect that India also wants to use blockchain technology to their advantage, and is closely watching Venezuela's move. They might also want to study more about blockchain for them to benefit from it. For this reason IMO they do not ban bitcoin and crypto trading their countries.
