2201  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Is Approaching $17000 on: December 13, 2022, 11:59:23 PM
18k now which puts highs for today inline with the 50 day average.  That could be the top of the move for now but the ideal is to challenge 19k
More then particular price points the larger picture comes from the regular price action and the direction of that highs and lows is upwards since the recent low.   Its not going to shoot up, I think its still range bound and the best indication of that will be when all moving averages are able to be positive trending; 50 day average is still descending so remain cautious till thats turned around.

If you want to compare the moment, the last time 50 day average was moving upwards was August.   We did have a sequence of recovery at that point but it failed in the autumn, we havent yet begun to be that positive so theres a fight ahead yet.
2202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: December 13, 2022, 12:22:13 AM
Its not too early for this thread because the films that could be put into betting will be released now or they wont qualify.  There is some debate as the quality of the film and its reception generally, some people will always hate a particular film but it can win anyway.
so I believe he should be well nominated and who knows, maybe even take the statuette in 2023, we'll see!

I'm also betting big on Colin Farrell's feature film, he received the longest applause of the event so far: there were 13 uninterrupted minutes of applause, if I were there my hands would be red Tongue

Changing gender a bit, I also believe that Cate Blanchett is the main bet for the 2023 Oscar.
Fraser is popular man of the moment, just a nomination would be a big come back from the abyss and a nomination is a kind of win; they advertise nominations during film promotions so its a win for both company and actor really.   However I dont actually believe he will win, I remain unconvinced so far but we got time to decide yet.

Of the three I'd expect Cate Blanchett is with the best chance I've been a fan for 25 years or so shes done the legwork for sure & I need to watch Farrell's film.

At least 1% in gold as a counter weight to all other risks taken during investment, call it insurance that may not even cost you anything if you require it.   Normally gold is just a commodity but during extremes it could be a requirement as a counter to extreme instability.  I think the trend for the world as a whole in recent years and decades has been towards greater volatility so gold is justified in that sense.
Between one and ten percent is considered a normal allocation in a portfolio for gold, 10% would be heavy but any more then 10% is where it becomes speculative and commodities (commodity trading, wheat, food, oil is just our essentials) are very risky at times.  I'm just mentioning gold in a low key way not recommending it for performance reasons but as a kind of safe guard, there is no yield to plain gold and really there is a cost to it both to aquire, the spread and the storage can all be costs.  Of course you might make a profit, inflation is quite apparent right now and nominally its very fair the price for gold can continue to rise but also between years its normal for it to fall.
I invest in the miners as I wanted yield and I dont mind risk but thats not for everyone, I do think a pension should contain gold long term in a small way maybe as little as a gold coin for every year of work and pension you have accumulated.  Small but something significant is my take on gold and quite ironic obviously we are developing technology every year but yet I think this ancient resource will continue in its basic utility against human stupidity short term, or politics as I like to call it.
2204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling techniques on: December 12, 2022, 11:45:30 PM
Martingale has one great feature which is why its around after decades of testing and not returning any particular advantage, its both very easy understand and also simple to put into practice so its perfect to try but not sadly to win with.   Put it to someone whose studied higher maths to try and compute any competitive advantage and they should confirm to you its not of any assistance in gambling.
If people want to use this or any other strategy for fun of course go for it but dont do it with any kind of normal bet figure, because its doubling up you will reach an unhappy place quite soon and to me thats no fun at all.  If you win even, its not returning anything much in return for the risk so I avoid it personally despite being like most people decades ago I thought it was an awesome idea.
2205  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 2023 on: December 12, 2022, 11:24:01 PM
The price is stable seemingly but with a descending 50 day average I think we have momentum that will clash with any current positive.  Battle must be done and demons vanquished before we can declare the battle is won Tongue
Friday soon to be Saturday we have trended positively above the 12hr average and also regained the 2 day average, so this weekend I suppose could do well but wider context then that is needed to really be assured of any ongoing positivity so I think at least till next Weds I remain uncertain.  Sideways is just the calm before the storm, Im reluctant to call it stability exactly.
2206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using Bonus Buy or Not Using Bonus Buy? on: December 12, 2022, 11:01:18 PM
Not using bonus buy is cheaper long run but to utilize it immediately is still cheaper then being unlucky short run in attempting to get the bonus and failing which is the fear of most gamblers I guess.   The house wouldn't offer something which isn't of benefit to them in some way so I think that's the case that convivence costs.
To actually practise the bonus before playing larger money its surely useful as a feature to try out as an option so I appreciate that its there but its not in my strategy as such to use it every day.
2207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will The FED pivot? on: December 12, 2022, 10:21:57 PM
Even if the FED raises rates, its the pace at which they have raised which matters overall.   A raise of say quarter percent would be perceived as positive overall.   Stock markets but not all markets are future facing which means they anticipate mostly the beginning of the end to the rises rather absolutely requiring no further rise in rates.
Add in that inflation itself is some adjustment to the cost of money, Ive no doubt that Dollar will continually lose value for this decade and the next.   A future cost to currency which is lower then the value now invested gives bias to stocks and performing assets.   However all of this is speculation, every shock turn in the road will upset the market but a foreseeable negative is not quite as bad.  I see some relief occurring in these next 12 months, it could start now; the emphasis being on assets which do perform.
2208  Economy / Speculation / Re: The world is not doing well on: December 12, 2022, 09:16:29 PM
Ironically its because the world has some problems that require answers & that BTC will be one of those answers and Dollar will not, in BTC price its an ironic positive.   The dollar system in this iteration at least dates back to WW2 and at that time I think USA trade was gigantic maybe near 50% of world trade plus they had currency fixed in value no matter the variance elsewhere it was a sure thing.    Every other country fixed their worth to dollar at a set ratio and so in turn to a precise measure of gold.
Today the system is very different but still chained to 1 country its subject to fracture sooner or later and that 'not doing well' is the greater risk then the latest weather economically.  If BTC is any help in countering structural failure its going to be useful, required and likely trade at a higher price over many years, but thats a big IF.

The point is transition not criticism of one country more the overall system and its rigidity vs a changing world.   Will BTC be useful to that ongoing alteration, most likely and at the very least online I think it will be.
2209  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think that we will see 13500 Dollars In 2022 on: December 12, 2022, 06:46:20 PM
The latest look for market heading into the weekend and lighter trading for BTC is that we do maintain a series of higher lows so there is positivity in the price.   However we are greatly subdued, even a subtle attempt to put 17,000 confidently below us is quickly diminished so we track sideways silently more or less.
The 50 day average is only 18,000 now, its really close to a collision with our current drift.   If we continue on like we're  skidding sideways on ice, frozen at 17k its less then  ideal; try checking Monday or early Tuesday for some resolution.    The boundaries at least are quite clear, above are prior lows of Sept Oct 19k or so and more recent 15.5k low (imo the resistance above is more solid of the two).

DXY or dollar index for some months now does have a trend downwards which helps lift alternate especially speculative assets, we can hope to arrest the fall here in BTC so long as that larger trillion dollar inertia does not alter.  DXY above 100 continues to be a red flag, dont be too positive.

Their defensive strategy is a positive and they are not just biased to that strength but especially good at it apparently, Spain was unable to break that defensive stance and so lost because of it.   I wonder if their ability to stop any goal concession will force them into a greater probability for penalties deciding the match.   Its not an easy question to decide which team is best able to win on penalties, whose goalkeeper is the best and even then its far closer to luck then skill.
2211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 12, 2022, 06:30:16 AM
Its funny Croatia isnt included in the options but it seems they have a very good chance to make the final.   My whole life I can remember Croatia popping up in world cup results and every single time people are surprised, I dont know why but they arent a large nation I guess.   So on this basis maybe I should be betting Croatia to win until the final, maybe they even win vs France this time but that show down seems most likely the outcome from here.

In a system balanced by people themselves the cut remains the same for the bookmaker or site such as this.  The greater amount of upsets in the worldcup just means I think the smaller countries and the people who bet those teams did better then most occurrences of the world cup.  Obviously its usually the biggest teams with the most money invested who consistently get the highest places.   I've never heard of Morocco being this good but its nice to have a surprise not a script to every game surely, it must help audience figures.

If the house increase the winning amount of those who have placed their bet early without decreasing the winning amount of those how have placed their bet late, they will lose money and that's not possible.

I used to bet on a site where the  majority of money was placed in the last five minutes, everything was left open and unrestrained.  It was chaos and the odds vastly changed as there was no warnings and some of those last betters underestimated how little money was on this little site so they got tiny odds.   I benefited as I often went underdog and won possibly with giant odds.   This system here is far better to reward at least something to early betters, its healthy and ultimately encourages more betting from stability in the odds.
(why do people wait, event news and maybe last minute illness is quite possible also naturally people start watching, etc.)
2213  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Ever Reach $100k? on: December 11, 2022, 11:53:26 PM
If the dollar continues to decline then yes it will very likely will as the value is lower then now for that 100k.   Also if you consider the possible losses the search for alternatives alone explains the possible demand for BTC.    Even with inflation at 7% this represents a loss of value will halve the Dollar in just 10 years, 7 is more aggressive then it appears when its such a consistent loss and I think that is possible if QE turns out badly.
2214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using Bonus Buy or Not Using Bonus Buy? on: December 11, 2022, 06:23:35 AM
Personally no I vote to spend more time getting the bonus but for some people its ideal and fast which is the main advantage.   If you gamble on a lunchbreak then not getting the bonus because you ran out of time must suck for those people, so thats where it comes into play for me.  I dont gamble on my lunchbreak, my heart cant take it and I cant pull myself away in time not to be late.
I dont believe its possible to buy luck so easily but it might appear that way, whatever works for you maybe the playstyle is fast in and fast out and when thats a win whose to say it cannot work out.

People want this one to win because its his come back film but its not the best film nor his best performance so I dont think on these short odds its a good choice unless people really decide they think its better then all other choices, I do not.

Also, betting on Avatar: Way of Water's opening box office performance is being offered in Coinplay. I am quite certain it will be over $174.5 million in America's opening box office.

I'd bet on it being successful but the opening weekend who knows because thats a very large amount imo.   Does it only include cinemas and how many screens will it open would be the first thing to check on.
2216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Price Hit $23,000 in Q1 2023? on: December 10, 2022, 05:46:54 PM
It can get 20k easily, the only thing that matters does it keep that 20k.    As said for some people the higher price while they buy regularly would be a negative and then to later return back to 15k anyway that is far from ideal.   If we only go sideways here its perhaps boring but not so negative for some people trying to accumulate.
I traded away at least half of my Bitcoin when we rose initially in 2021, I thought it was rising way too fast;  so I sold into the strength, later I thought it might last but it was not to be.   Right now I got to take the opportunity presented to replenish what I had sold at this now lower price, make a positive from a negative.
Theres always going to be bad news in the world, I dont give that excuse as to why BTC is down I prefer purely the maths of a higher and lower range a dual narrative to this story not all sunny skies because life is not like that.
2217  Economy / Speculation / Re: The world is not doing well on: December 10, 2022, 02:28:27 PM
Dollar strengthened vs a weak Yen and EURO sitting on the edge of a major battlefield with the loss of a large section of its energy.  Thats quite some incentive for a swing to a dollar but it doesn't exactly make Dollar strong only that we have a withdrawal in risk appetite.  The BTC price right now is with the tide full out and speculators gone you just have a base price, its disappointing for some but this background to pricing was always there and much lower then the headline grabbing prices.  Its not quite as bearish as some might presume, theres always more then one price to consider imo
2218  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sideways, this price action is serpentine surely. on: December 09, 2022, 11:58:38 PM
Word of the day /weekly or easily imo this month is range.   We're range bound very likely, how we bounce off the edges of this area is how we should define strength or weakness.   Sideways, this price action is serpentine surely.

I imagine the rough timing to estimate a break of this range, regardless of where the bottom price might be estimated would be when the blue line here or 50 day average is ascending.   Either we near that moving average and fail in some way, breaking downwards most likely or we find the change in momentum is enough to bring us upto this rough ceiling of 18k.   Once we have both momentum and have regained a 2nd rung on the ladder of support/resistance levels I think we can estimate a trend bringing us past 20k, etc.

I much prefer to guess on progressive change then absolute and sharp alterations to price.  We might have a V shape bottom price but I'd decline to guess where or what that price is, I only want to know when our inertia is once again positive and that should be profitable to pay attention to imo.

Thats kinda genius, its like the famous salami trick; just a little from many people can add up to alot.   Also how large governments tax the little people via inflation and many things :p
I have no context for the proposed writing so I would not especially enter.   You can judge me by what I write anyway, Ive been interested in tech since the eighties but its a big place so hard to say what need could be met without any details.  Good luck in every endeavor anyhow Smiley

A bit of historical research goes a long way, Croatia have been a force to reckon with for many years but I dont speak the language or watch these players so maybe its not well known; where as Brazil is known to everybody so its an overly popular bet plus its a massive country.

I got 5k lottery ticket win from the newsletter spin, pretty lucky for a freebie even if its daily I dont find that happens that often so I feel lucky  Cool

I placed bet for FUN token price this month to stay where it is.   Mostly Im not predicting negative or positive just that crypto has a lot on its plate and its going to take a while for market to chew its way through this whole event news and purely mathematically the data on the chart says price will remain squished, its weighted.   We can and will fight back upwards but imo not substantially enough this month to beat the clock so hopefully its a reasonable bet to guess we remain as we are mostly.   Plus if Im wrong the price went up and I own them, hardly will I be sad at that point Tongue
