2201  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Crypto Pump Island a scam or legit? on: February 07, 2021, 09:02:30 PM
hey guys,
i found this group called "Crypto Pump Island" on telegram..
They are doing Pump and Dumbs....and are selling a Premium Membership.
So my question is: is this Premium Group worth it ? And has anyone of you any expierences with this premium group ?
thanks in advantage

Nope I would doubt about their group especially about paying for a premium membership. In the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, there are no such guarantees about the price movement. Just like stocks, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have no astronomical guaranteed returns. They are just another pump and dump group, so I would advise you to stay away from them and save your hard-earned money. Instead, you are going to start learning how to trade in a legit way. Only invest and trade what you can afford to lose.
2202  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin go up to $1000k? on: February 07, 2021, 08:57:21 PM
Although that everything can be possible, we cannot simply guarantee that it may happen. For me, I think we should start becoming realistic. $100k for me is something that I wanna see for this year. However, I predict that maybe before May, there would be a slight pullback due to the April tax deadline before we could see another round of bull run. Just my own instincts by the way.
2203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India makes ownership of Bitcoin criminal offense - How to respond? on: February 07, 2021, 07:48:51 PM
This is freaking ridiculous. I am sure that there will be riots later on if this bill has officially passed and come to fruition. I am also feeling that Indians may have to relocate themselves to another country by applying a working visa or even change citizenship.

If I were born as Indian and currently staying there, I would panic and plan ahead to move to another country where it’s crypto-friendly and will apply for a change of citizenship permanently.

It is ridiculous. But the situation is not as favorable as that in the developed nations. The cryptocurrency market in India is quite large, with somewhere around 5 million to 10 million active users. But when compared to the overall population (1.4 billion), this would look like minuscule. 90% of the population doesn't have enough education to understand what is cryptocurrency and the technology behind it. If the government claim that cryptocurrency is being used for illegal purposes, then these people will support the government's stand. So forget about the users rioting, or even protesting against the move.

A better option is to travel to some other country, so that you can trade with your cryptocurrency holdings. But I guess stompix has already explained the impracticality of any such move in one of his posts within this thread.

They just simply want to generalize Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as private and illegal. Instead of making these cryptocurrencies regulated, they just simply want an outright ban without even studying their possibilities. They only focused on the bad side of crypto, not trying to dig in with it's real and positive use cases.
2204  Economy / Economics / Re: Some Company are holding more than 10000 Bitcoin on: February 06, 2021, 12:43:42 PM
And I bet that other companies might slowly follow suit. I can see it coming. The Bitcoin adoption is getting even better than ever (except for those countries who ban them or are trying to criminalize citizens who own crypto assets). If more financial institutions are going to buy more Bitcoin even at this price, it will just continue to grow in terms of price, ownership and demand.
2205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miami To Start Paying Salaries In Bitcoin Soon on: February 06, 2021, 11:07:24 AM
Mayor Francis Suarez of the City of Miami has revealed he is envisioning payment of salaries using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in his county.

The crypto enthusiast lawyer is championing the adoption of blockchain and related cryptocurrencies. Besides he also suggested that all taxes and service fees would as well be paid in crypto.

Seems interesting, don't you think? Do you think others will follow in their footsteps?

How I wish that some establishments and companies in the Philippines could start paying us in Bitcoin. Slowly but surely, we are going towards a true massive adoption in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payments. Of course, virtual assistants and home-based workers whose companies are mostly online, could offer Bitcoin as payment if they want. But I haven’t seen one traditional company yet in the Philippines (with the exception of local payment service providers) who are paying Bitcoin and cryptos to their employees. Hopefully it will happen one day.
2206  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Myanmar coup: The country is now under military rule on: February 06, 2021, 04:00:33 AM
And it just getting worse. They have blocked Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for Myanmar citizens until "further notice".

Sources:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-55923486
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-55960284

However, they haven't blocked Telegram, Whatsapp, Reddit, Discord, Uptrennd and other similar platforms yet. Myanmar citizens should turn on decentralized social media and other platforms where it's impossible for the military coup to block them even if they order the telecoms in doing so.

I just hope they don't ban their citizens from crypto-related activities there.
2207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why does $ETH lead the bull markets? on: February 04, 2021, 03:30:52 AM
Although we are happy that the price of ETH is surging, so are the gas fees. Honestly, this is the biggest downside and weakness of Ethereum right now and it's not good for small traders right now. Like last night, I wanna claim token rewards, but I need to pay a gas fee of $27. A couple of my colleagues also shared that when they wanna swap something on Uniswap, the fee was even more ridiculous at $72. Lately, one of my friends posted a status on her Facebook that the initial gas fee was $112. She tried to make it lower, but the transaction failed.

AnySwap could be a great alternative if we want very cheap gas fees, but Uniswap's popularity continues on and comes with a terrible price of uncontrollable surge of fees (both factory and transaction).
2208  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Avoid Fake Giveaways And Ponzies on: February 03, 2021, 01:30:43 PM
This is exactly the problem of the newbies and beginners in crypto and blockchain space. Some of my Facebook friends inquired and consulted to me if those opportunities are real, and I simply said no because the structure and system that they’ve advertised are ponzi. I took time to educate as well about the dos and don’ts in engaging with crypto projects. These ponzi scams cannot be stopped and newbies are falling for it, and we, the experienced ones, will do everything we can to prevent them from getting their hard-earned money to end up in the wrong hands.

Good thing I have never included this in my spreadsheet. Thanks again!
2213  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting a user who just merited you on: February 01, 2021, 12:34:13 PM
There is a guy named elmanchez (who was already permabanned due to loan default), who initially asked me to exchange merits before on a 1:1 ratio on Telegram. I simply said no because it’s against the rules, and I had a feeling that he fumed after responding that to him and never had a convo or heard from him anymore (until seeing a scam accusation against him).

I don’t mind who merited me (but I appreciate at least), because I am not obligated to merit him or her back. I would rather choose the natural way of sending and receiving merits because of helpful and valuable posts.
2214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP Rally Starts Today! on: February 01, 2021, 12:28:45 PM
I guess that XRP strong hands have benefited in the end, but the question is how long? We just saw the response of Ripple Labs to SEC regarding the accusations against them for being a security. The funny thing is that SEC is waiting for a few years before filing a lawsuit against Ripple Labs. Yup it goes down to $0.20, but the strong hands are benefiting. I wonder what would be SEC’s response? Will XRP hold on after this? Hmmm.....
2215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ACCIDENTALLY SENT MY BINANCE USDT TO ABRA'S BTC on: February 01, 2021, 12:16:28 PM
I accidentally sent my binance usdt to my abra's btc address.
I've tried to the bip39 tool to recover my private keys (I have abra's wallet seed)
But the problem is bip39 tool doesn't show my bitcoin address
I've heard that abra uses custom derivation path.
I've contacted the abra team but no responce
This is the tix id: https://www.omniexplorer.info/tx/b336d7f5ffcfcf9d32442cb0a8e56e417ae0977683190bd60fbf36d1b3bd611e

The thing is you should have triple checked the receiving address before sending. This is one of the common mistakes of sending from wallet to wallet, or exchange to wallet, etc. Since it’s an Abra wallet, so it’s a USDT20 address (and it always starts with 0x). BTC addresses usually starts with 1 or 3 as it’s first character.

Accident or no accident, this is a lesson that you should learn. Always triple (or more) check or verify before sending. I’m sure that they are not going to be liable for your losses once you made a mistake in sending to a wrong type of coin or token address.
2216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The day I entered the bitcoin market.... on: February 01, 2021, 11:51:52 AM
Patience is the biggest test of this game. I had to admit that when the great Bitcoin crash happened in 2018 (from $19,783 to below $3,000), I told myself that I’ve got to hang on because I always believe in BTC. I put in my mind that Bitcoin has died many times, but always came back alive over and over again. Right now, look what it got us now. I just knew that one day, the institutions are going to embrace Bitcoin, and it finally happened (starting with JP Morgan, Paypal, etc.). This is where the momentum began and we are maintaining above $30k.
2217  Other / Politics & Society / Myanmar coup: The country is now under military rule on: February 01, 2021, 08:49:49 AM
Source: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-55882489

It looks like the military will be taking over again in Myanmar. Their military commander-in-chief has now the power to do whatever he wants. It's because of the fraud election system on Myanmar where most people believe that Aung San Suu Kyi should have won the election, but it ended up in a landslide win against her opponent. A lot of them cannot accept the results of the election and may lead to another dictatorship, which resulting to protests.

Now Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi and the other senior members of the governing party are all detained in an injustice way. The United States and UK are condemning the coup. Citizens are experiencing disruptions in mobile data internet connections and phone service providers. TV networks are also experiencing major issues and are off-air, and international broadcasters like BBC World are blocked.

This is definitely bad and I feel for the citizens of Myanmar.

Any thoughts, opinions or feelings that you guys would like to share about the terrible situation in Myanmar now?

I don’t treat this as a full-time job anymore (except for most of 2018 and 2019) where I was just lucky in some of the tokens I hold that made me travel at least once or few times a month by plane locally or overseas until the pandemic struck.

It’s much better that you need to have a job that could give you stable income rather than just relying on bounty hunting to make a living. I just treat bounty hunting as a bonus regardless on how little or big I receive after converting it to BTC, ETH, USDT, etc.

Try to be more than just a bounty hunter at least. Once you have agreed to promote the project, you must always understand and accept the risks even if the value goes down or turned into shitcoin (or even ended up exit scammed). This is what I have in my mind, and if that project failed, it’s a lesson learn for me instead of whining and complaining all day.

This is the reality nowadays in bounty hunting where it cannot repeat like in 2017.
