I really think you should give this a shot.  I am more than willing to call in via Skype and shoot the shit, I'm no expert.

Someone in the Newbie forum was looking for ideas for a production of some kind.  My suggestion is more talk with merchants and 'common man' and less on the topics of mining, currency, etc.  There is plenty of shows filling that market.
2203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A question to all speculators - What if Bitcoins' price just flatline? on: June 24, 2011, 02:38:43 PM
so perhaps the trading price will just random walk between say, $5 and $40.

now what?
People buy, sale, trade, use, abuse, hoarde, just like they are doing now.  The actions with Bitcoin that are going on now will not be that much different in the future, just more refined and less focus on the coin itself and rather what real world things it produces for you.  Reality shit lol  It's why it will enter the mainstream in some form.

With that in mind

Seen this in the Bitcoin Discussion side of the forums http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=21923.0, not affiliated with him, but I like the shirt designs there and everyone is begging for starter coins, well here is a decent way to maybe earn some.  Good luck

Hey everyone.  You may not have noticed, but I try to change weekly the slogan which is displayed in the changing banner box at the top of the page over at SquareWear.biz.  I need some help coming up with next week's slogan.  The name the whale contest we did went so well last week, I thought this would be fun too.  Post your best slogan(s) here and I'll pick at least one to use.  I'll break a bitcoin in two and then ship one half along with a whole coin to the talented winner.

One other catch.  To win you have to sign up on SquareWear to get the newsletter. (Go to the account page) If you already have an account, then you're eligible too.

To get an idea of what I'm looking for, here are some of my past slogans:

“So lame, they wrap back around to cool”
“If a Jaguar and a robot had a baby it would be a SquareWear shirt.”
“It’s like they mixed gold, fire, and magic to make SquareTees.”
“When I sleep in a SquareWear shirt, I feel twice as refreshed.”
“SquareWear is to t-shirts what Jesus is to Christians” (I took this one down, more it wasn't that funny than because of its irreverence)
“Voted #1 US-based, cryptocurrency accepting, geeky-humor t-shirt site with a superscript in the name."
“Helping nerds become nerdier”

Seen the Dat Hash one, which was funny as hell, this one, slightly better.  Well done remix.
2211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin software resources on: June 24, 2011, 12:02:35 PM
So how about source code resources? I am a developer and have some ideas for an alternative type of bitcoin client. Instead of writing everything from scratch I would like to reuse as much as possible.

I was once using Bitp.it Browser Mining and now use BitcoinPlus (in action!)

I believe the Bitp.it code is out there to be worked on if you have the time Wink
2212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I feel it is my duty to warn you all. on: June 24, 2011, 11:52:39 AM
I cannot post outside this area, but perhaps some of you might benefit from what I have to say.

I work in finance for an international NGO and have been watching this bitcoin saga unfold with some academic curiosity and no small level of entertainment. I have no problems with bitcoin as a concept, and the agencies and governments I work with have little concern aside from its potential use as a medium for money laundering, though even in this respect it is still a very minor one given the tiny size of the bitcoin economy relative to that of other illicit financial activities. On the list of priorities, it isn't. So you all have no need for worry there from what I have heard.

However.

This is a world with laws. The frankly hilarious incompetence with which MtGox has been operating cannot be allowed to continue. Regulation, no matter what some of you seem to think of it, exists for a reason, and it is to prevent things such as this. Had there been accurate reporting, disclosure, meeting of capital requirements, self-regulatory structure and organization, safeguards against market manipulation, and so on, perhaps this all could have been avoided. It is for this reason that I contacted a colleague with the Japanese Financial Services Agency, who will be investigating MtGox for operating in violation of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law. Their criminal negligence will end up costing many of you money; hopefully my warning here and swift action by the Japanese authorities will minimize that.

Enjoy.

Recipe for laughter.   Read the above post IN THIS VOICE
2213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest or mine? on: June 24, 2011, 11:49:20 AM
I think investing in the market could help the market in the sense that there needs to be a steady flow of all parts, and I see the people throwing money in are only the people who have money in and know the value of the coin in the end.  Risk is higher than if mining, but less time and probably money as the initial investment over proper mining equipment may make investing worth it.

2215  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Porn anyone? on: June 24, 2011, 11:44:23 AM
Girls preform, get tips, toy companies pay girls to demo toys, sell toys.

While we're on the subject, bitcoinsextoys.com is terrible. Free shipping is all they offer and don't mention that it takes 4-8 weeks until after you pay. It's been 6 weeks now, no delivery. The Madhatter might not be a thief, but so far the result is the same.

This is not the first time I have seen a complaint about this web site.  I have access to toys, I might set up a shop on the weekend.  Nothing fancy, but legit and of course things ship on time would be rule number 1.  Which would make processing Bitcoins at an acceptable speed a rule that somehow comes before 1.   If toys are of interest, I will get on top of it unless someone is reading this thread and has more free time, otherwise I will get something up for the sole purpose of having it for the community as well as providing options with vendors.

2217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Google & Co. Mining ?!?? on: June 24, 2011, 11:36:42 AM
But if they mine just to get rid of BTC i/of using them, where is the value ?

The value is a shitload of Bitcoin gets put into the community and all of a sudden the legitimacy problems with big merchants that is holding back the coin right now, will no longer be an issue, it could be the thing to not only make the coin official, but you know Google would try and regulate how fast they generate coin.

Also, they would do things by solar power or wind Smiley
2218  Economy / Economics / Re: SafeBitcoin.org - Real Bitcoin trading. on: June 24, 2011, 11:30:11 AM
I know that, but the image is really, just an image. The real part is that you are trusting us that we choose the right people, and not scammers. So it's all about trusting me, and my staff.
To say something like that (which is good) you have to have a past with people that trust you lol.

I don't mean to joke, your business itself has the apperearance of being very serious.  But with that level of trust and seriousness, it takes more than 38 posts in a couple of threads, at least I would hope.

So who is the rest of the team?  Let's build trust here Smiley
2219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's talk about NAMECOIN on: June 24, 2011, 04:41:46 AM
So on top of Namecoin having a catchier name, does it work in conjunction with Bitcoin or is it a replacement, competitor?

I see so few posts, but I checked the other thread.  Very interesting.
