I thought refreshing might lose me the buy-in I had already paid, so didn't. Oh well.
Hey doog, refreshing is okay you can do it as often as you want. If you paid for a playground and the key not got used you purchased it will stay until you use it and play on that playground. Also if the message pops up if you really want to pay again don't worry. You just will pay one time. So am I bought in for the next tournament, whenever that happens? I don't see the tournament playground listed as an option any more, only the regular 5. Can I cancel that buy-in and get my entrance fee back? Hey doog, i refunded you for the open key ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I had the same problem with connecting, so I ended up pressing f5 after a minute and 30 seconds and tried entering again and was successful. lesson learned. refresh the page until you can get in.

I don't get the difference ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Can you make an example calculation for old and new system? Maybe it's this: * before: each food blob was worth a certain amount of satoshi, and so the number of food blobs in the play area was limited by the amount that people had bought in with. At the end of the game any remaining food blobs are divided equally between the players. Sometimes if there was a lot of uneaten food in the play area it was +EV to buy in with 1 second remaining, because your share of the uneaten food was more than the buy-in. * now: each food blob is only worth "points", which don't have a fixed BTC value, so the game can create them without constraint. At the end of the game the pot is divided between players in proportion to their mass, so there's always enough money in the pot to pay everyone. Uneaten food blobs aren't divided between players, so it's never +EV to buy in at the last second. Am I close? Perfect ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

The pot play type is like the buy-in play type; that is, you still have to buy-in to play, but the key difference is that your buy-in (minus a small fee) is added to a total cash pot! At the end of the round, this pot is divided amongst all surviving players by means of their end score. The bigger you are at the end, the bigger your share of the pot! Wasn't it always like this in Deathmatch? Except for showing the pot? No its not the same because before you didn't collect points like now, you collected Satoshi and the value of points on the playground depended on the buy-ins. Now you collect points and the playground is filled up with points you can collect and the gameplay is faster and makes more fun because your winning is calculated from the points you own from all points.

I had a random though about tournaments. Last time, the first tournament was only promoted on twitter, and there wasn't that much preparation time. So maybe next time it be better to announce a upcoming tournament a couple days in advance so they can be promoted on reddit, twitter and other places. This would help to attract more new users, and give current users something to look forward to.
Just found the twitter, im happy to retweet out any news to my bitcoin followers. Sites like this are really important to bitcoin, let us know if we can help promote. We are happy for all support we can get so feel free to retweet all you want ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Here are some updates from the last days:
Update: 09/26/2015 __________________
- Player count should now always update properly. - Users can now join free servers without having to login (does not include faucet servers) - Chat has been added - Players can tip other players - Minimal changes to the gameserver to speed up the gameplay
Update: 09/28/2015 __________________
- The servers recently received a large patch to optimise the game.
Update: 09/30/2015 __________________
- QRCode generation is now possible on the deposit tab
Update: 10/01/2015 __________________
- Game options are now stored on the client by means of localStorage (when available). - Link to block explorer added to transaction details page. Click on it to see the transaction info. - Links are now filtered in chat. - Statistics page added
Update: 10/02/2015 __________________
- Some optimisations in regards to drawing. - A universal framerate limiter is added to the client. - "Simple Mode" (for low performance pcs): what this does is force nodes to draw as 'simple', which means no borders and no collision effects-that is, all nodes will just be circles now, except for the virus which retains its shape (but will have a fixed amount of 16 points). Next, it disables skins on all nodes. Finally, it sets the max framerate to 30.

Will there be a tournament this weekend?
A fun tournament mode would be one where mass size increases as normal, but you are only awarded points for eliminating other players completely - thus forcing people to take more chances and perhaps get eaten themselves. Not sure if that will be the outcome, but it could provide some interesting gameplay.
Also, it could be fun with a game mode where all players start out with a larger size, just to speed things up a bit in the start.
Sorry but we are on updates this weekend but we will look into it as soon as possible.

Simple rule : Anything on the client side is vulnerable.
You're on the client side. Are you vulnerable to replacement by a bot? Run your bots and announce when they're playing the money games. People will be more than happy to demonstrate the problem with your plan. I full agree with you doog ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) We added the save settings! I hope you like it?

Hey Chopcoiners, sorry but we had to change some stuff server side to optimize the game. We will come up with some kind of tournament gameplay in the next week that makes it more transparent for you on how much is to win (display the value under the timer) and how the payout % is handled for the winners. We also added a new 'bombfest' config to the faucet playground.
Check it out and learn how to play because this will be the next tournament fun that is coming soon.We are also on rewriting the faq so its more understandable for new users on how this game works.

What is the use of locking a Payout-address, if you can tip the balance to another user?
That way we are able to pay all users if something happens what we not hope to get to ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Soo look at it as an emergency address.
