2201  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: February 24, 2023, 02:54:32 AM
Every legendary trader today was a beginner at some point, no one woke up one morning and became a good trader. So for you to excel in trading you have to give yourself to learning the basics of what trading entails, the psychological aspects of it and the  analytical, for it takes much more than just working on candlesticks to making a good trader and for a beginner candlesticks can be deceiving and misleading with possible fake out trend(candlestick), that can lead to drastic loss at a go.
2202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: February 23, 2023, 09:43:36 PM
Man United has changed 3 players (Weghorst, Sancho, and Wan-Bissaka). Ten Hag seems to expect a more offensive game, he wants to surprise Barcelona players by replacing those players with new players who are good in speed. Now, Ten Hag can smile that his tactic looks effective because Antony can prove it by scoring 1 more goal. Man United is leading with 1 goal now, I think Man United can keep this until the match is over. Or Man United will score again to secure their winning.

The game is getting more interesting than I thought, ten hag just know what to do and when to just to get the desired results. You would agree with me th changes made were worth it as the Man UTD front is bitting more now in the 2nd half compared to the 1st half of play. I think this game is going to end on just 2:1 in favour of Manchester.
2203  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: An honest answer on mining with solar on: February 23, 2023, 09:12:59 PM
Someone ask this question on Nigerians local board, the reason why miners are not located or negligibly located in Nigeria as a result of poor electricity supply. In Nigeria, electricity supply is poor in many areas and the only option anyone that want to mine can have is to use solar energy.

Assuming you get yourself like one or two Antminer S19 Pro, powering it with solar, will it be profitable after considering the budget and maintenance?

Those miners and solar panels are not manufactured in Nigeria, they are probably manufactured in China which will make them costly as they will be shipped.
Others are saying it might "probably not be profitable", but in this case I am saying it's not going to be profitable. As a Nigerian weighing the circumstances surrounding self power generation in the country is very expensive even for an owner of a small scale business not to talk of mining equipments that are very expensive to afford in addition to the solar panels too.  The country is highly import reliance country which means even when it comes to maintenance every parts would have to be imported.
There are many other unfavourable environmental factors to look at too that I think are only peculiar to we Nigerians alone and I believe that's why almost every Nigerian prefer buying bitcoin and hold instead of going into mining cause the profit is not feasible.
2204  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that this AI is good for trading? on: February 23, 2023, 04:42:57 PM
AI can be good for trading only you have an understanding of how it works, as it only there to assist you with analytical guidelines that aids you in making better trades but not that it does the trading for you but rather serves as a trade assistant tool. I think AI is more beneficial to beginner traders as it uncover to their knowledge awareness areas of interest to watch out for in trading.
2205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Ways to Make Big Money at the Casino — Without Gambling on: February 23, 2023, 09:03:20 AM

5. Bring in a Bomb

all that planning just to screw up on giving directions hahaha. kudos to the son's girlfriend for giving the police a tip on his whereabouts and I'm glad he got life imprisonment, he could have killed a lot of people for what he did. I wonder if Harvey got a lien on John Birge's property/s(if he ever had one) after doing all that damage on his casino.

there was no google waze yet during that time.
if the casino knew the damage to the blast is $18M. the casino will rather give the $3M money to him.
Negotiating with criminals just because you don't want to lose much money as disagreeing with them may cost you more money than they requested  is another way of encouraging more future crimes. Anyway, the perpetrator and accessories to the bomb blast were eventually apprehended and served their term that's just the beautiful part of the whole event.

2207  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Experience with bitcoin on: February 22, 2023, 09:55:46 PM
Hello guys, I have had quite good and bad experience trying to learn bitcoin, in 2012 someone came with blablabla stories of bitcoin, guy's is not funny! I turn deef ears to it but after a while I keep hearing crypto currency, so in 2016 that's about 5 years interval I decided to give it a try by putting all money I have work so hard to go back to school because they said the more volume of your money the more good trading experience but unfortunately it wasn't juices in my favour and I lost almost everything in attempt trying to recovered.
A story similar to this situation mad me create a thread on this issue of not deeply informing newbies about the pros and cons of bitcoin but only emphasizing endless echoes on the pros which at the end of the day some may think bitcoin is a fraud all because they were not adequately informed https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5437459.msg61686297#msg61686297

In this case OP had a good recovery opportunity due to the bull of 2018 and this am sure was what resuscitated his energy towards bitcoin but what about those others that never had a recovery after a huge loss out of what they were told but wasn't the outcome, I wonder what story they may be telling out there about bitcoin.
2208  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the bitcoin price continue to increase? on: February 22, 2023, 09:09:21 PM
For long term holders I'll say keep pressing on, give no second thought to the news going round especially when it's a near future impact news. There will always be news about bitcoin wether positive or negative but for a long term holder the goal is to hold strong and steady till the eventual bull erupt.
2209  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project: Sewing machine BITCOIN on: February 22, 2023, 04:15:24 PM
Really beautiful artwork, and it also takes a lot of time and effort as it is handmade.

The problem here in the forum, as most of the members have pointed out some scammers negatively influence good people so it is hard to gain the trust of the community quickly.
A popular saying in my country home "that it's human that makes other human act wicked",  and this is found here in the forum that due to the nefarious behaviours of some persons it's now a thing of difficulty to differentiate the good from the bad. How unfortunate this situation is, so OP it's best you auction your artwork as they would definitely attract sales seeing how beautiful they look from here.
2210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin class with my students. on: February 22, 2023, 12:19:20 PM
Good job mate, but if that is a government school aka public school you are going against its rules and you can be prosecuted for doing that, imagine the principal walking in on you and asking you questions, that topic is not on any school syllabus and that's why we are never thought some things in school about money, also, Bitcoin the second crime could be, that Bitcoin is not presently legal in your country.

You did well but, just be careful.
Any school principal that's digitally inclined will otherwise give himself to knowing and having a good knowledge of what digital subject is been thought to his students before   jumping into concluding if it's wrong or not but I know that no digitally exposed principal in this 21stC will deny his students such free opportunity of a one day lecture just because it isn't yet in schools syllabus. It can be classified as extra morals. I just hope someday the Nigerian government understands what they are missing on bitcoin.
2211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 22, 2023, 06:06:17 AM
Real Madrid came back to beat Liverpool 5-2 at Anfield, Liverpool leading 2-0 after just 14 minutes, but Real Madrid scored five goals at Anfield to hold a big advantage after the first leg.
Liverpool defended too loosely, allowing Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior to score twice. Thus, Liverpool must score at least 3 goals at the Bernabeu.
Like what were you expecting? That Liverpool was gonna win Real Madrid just like that, for by the current loosed form of Liverpool in the EPL it's enough to tell that despite the 2:0 within the few minutes of the first half the game was likely to end draw but unfortunately for the Reds Madrid had to overturn the results beyond what we had expected. I am pretty sure that same with be of Chelsea against Dortmund at Stamford bridge as the two EPL teams are currently unreliable with their current performance.

2216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: February 21, 2023, 02:02:38 PM
ChatGPT is all the rage at the moment. I’ve seen that people are asking it to predict sporting events. Would you leave gambling decisions up to artificial intelligence? Do you see any potential drawbacks for outsourcing your bets to a software program? Has anyone here tried this yet? Do we need someone to put together a thread of ChatGPT predictions to see how accurate they are?  Any other thoughts?
There's a lot of other factors to prediction that human intelligence will consider in addition to statistics available at his reach before making his prediction on the outcome of a game especially when betting on football unlike AI that would grant prediction based on advantageous stats from both team which has proven countless times that the team with the best stats doesn't always win. No matter how develop and improved the AI is it can't be compared to human intelligence so am not sure am going to give room for AI to be doing predictions for me in my gambling. Maybe other areas but definitely not depending on it in gambling.
2217  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buying a house with 100% Bitcoin is possible in Portugal on: February 21, 2023, 10:08:31 AM
At the beginning of this month (May 2022), a house was sold in Portugal, in which it was fully paid for with Bitcoin. This was made possible, thanks to a new decree of law that allows crypto exchanges for houses. The house cost 3BTC at the time and it was all done legally.

You can find out more in these news:
EN: https://finbold.com/house-in-portugal-sold-for-3-bitcoins-in-a-historic-first-ever-direct-sale/
PT: https://www.idealista.pt/news/imobiliario/habitacao/2022/05/06/52164-casa-em-braga-e-comprada-por-3-bitcoins-e-a-1a-transacao-100-cripto

But the highlight now goes to the platform created by the real estate company responsible for this sale, where it lists all the properties that can be acquired with Bitcoin.

Cryptohouses

In addition to presenting a series of properties available to buy with Bitcoin, the company still gives full legal support so that everything is done according to the law.

___
NOTE: I have no connection to this property, I'm just sharing the information. I'm from Portugal and I can give you a few more details.

Wow! This is good I wish my country will support the use of btc as a means of exchange. It will also help those of us that are still small traders to maintain the use and hold of cryptocurrency. Imagine using btc to buy goods worth as little as $100, I will be save from any inconveniences associated with the banks.
Part of the reasons why most government opposes the use of bitcoin as means of exchange in their country is due to the tax free fees transactions associated with BTC unlike  the traditional banking process with fiat money. And almost all government in the world depends on taxes and internally generated revenues. Perhaps the reason they're against digital decentralized currency operations.

2219  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 20, 2023, 08:53:20 PM
Being a student is so hard nowadays. I've been spending a lot for school requirements and different activities related to education. I'm stuck with this saying "SAVING IS WASTING", thinking that with the little amount of money I have, should I put it on an investment or should I just save it for my future expenses or emergencies. I'm also living in a country in which there are limited side hustles I could do to earn extra for investment, so I'm troubled somehow.
How sympathetic this situation is, it's like trying to kill two birds with one stone simultaneously. You having the thought of putting down an investment for yourself while still in school so by the time you must have been done with you would have something to start up with while hunting for a good job. But on the other hand, school can be so demanding and saving to keep for any emergency demands from school is quite superb as lack of money can lead to extra year(s) in school.
In my opinion among these two options you should just focus your financial on pushing yourself through school and get finished with it then investment can then come in, possibly you might even be with a  good job and invest better and bigger.
