After the $30 peak, it took some time before people realised that it had become a bear market.

Exactly.  It'll take a while, but eventually I think we're likely to get into the $10 area, and probably lower.  I've got all the time in the world.

proudhon, tell us at what price you'll actually buy and become a bull.  b/c you've been a bear all the way down to $2 and now all the way up to $19 and back down to where we are now.  when, oh when?

< $2?

...maybe he works for eBay. Cheesy
2202  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The bASIC Refund Tracking Thread on: January 26, 2013, 05:26:13 AM
The CC customers are the ones that can put Tom in jail if not returned, they're also the ones with an expiration date. I don't think the current policy is surprising.

BTW I'm owed more $$$ in BTC than CC.

Hear ya there! .. makes total sense to just run w/ the BTC left from btc orders. Highly doubt we will see our BTC bro but...theres always a chance I suppose.
BTC failed us this time around =( thats the saddest part of all this

I believe they'll be returned and we'll just have to eat the opportunity cost/exchange rate losses. I think Tom just got in way over his head and didn't know what to do. There's already been a wave of BTC refunds & lots of CC refunds. If as Dave says the bulk of the orders were in CC then the BTC balance outstanding probably isn't all that huge. Surely Tom's reputation is worth more to him than the remaining BTCs owed those that trusted him. If he meant to just rabbit with all the BTCs then why the wave of BTC refunds?

I'm still a bit pissed at Tom for stringing me along, but if he returns what's mine, and I believe he will, I'll get over it.

Whatever Tom was paying you Dave it likely wasn't enough. Though bad, this would have been a Halloween nightmare without your involvement.

Thanks Dave, the updates are appreciated.

Benches man...it's all about the benches. Wink

I'm pretty sure creativex is trying to help Josh sell more equipment by keeping this thread at the top of the list.  Tongue

Course man! JZ and I are buds. Wink

Why else would *I* be in his sig instead of the company he (mis)represents?

What the hell is going on?

I left this thread for all of 12 hours and magically a two page flame war erupts...

Benches man...it's all about the benches. Wink

I wonder what will happen when he is approved on BTC-TC as he surely will be in due time, unless he withdraws the request. I guess this is a better question for Usagi's silver thread.
2209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 25, 2013, 05:53:42 PM
jesus...this isn't even a retracement.  Its turning into just an isolated dump... bigger then normal but still quickly repurchased
yes denial runs deep within the community, reality check is in order.
lol.. so says the guy who sold at 16.25 CAD...

Mistakes breed wisdom? Smiley

your too stupid to figure out simple concepts.

www.joshzerlan.com is my new favorite website

Yeah, gotta love a website run by a white trash, homophobic, anti-semetic washed up poker player trying to be important, right?  Micon is one bald head away from being a neo-nazi.

...isn't Bryan Jewish? Think the neo-nazis will notice?

BTW it's anti-semitic.

Somebody is cranky. Cheesy

2211  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase limits... on: January 25, 2013, 04:52:11 PM
The coinbase limit goes up to 100BTC after you are fully verified.  I believe that involves waiting 30 days after your first purchase:

http://blog.coinbase.com/post/40233239772/you-can-now-buy-up-to-100-btc-per-day-with-a-verified

I think they are planning to roll out higher limits at some point, too.

They also completely moderate their support forum they have on their website. I posted a question regarding the limits and it was removed. Not even a response. They want me to buy 10 bitcoin, wait 30 days with my money in their account?? What are they nuts? What kind of people would use a service like that? They're basically sucking in people's money, using it themselves for 30 days. I suggest, STAY AWAY from a place like that.

Definitely not the case. Very impressed with coinbase service thus far.

What do ASIC hardware vendors and politicians have in common?

Well, certainly not fans.
*slow-clap*

Get an ointment for god's sake. Perhaps a balm.

You do realize that those are new benches as opposed to old ones?  Oh no, wait... your too stupid to figure out simple concepts.
Hey you were only first because I had to sneeze 3 times before hitting "post"!

Do you two have a thing going where you switch into Slokman & Robinaba costumes and shout "To the BTCForums!" before you descend upon the Gothread fighting for justice and stuff?

LOL

Oh sh1t we accidentally told the truth about something! You guys over at BFL need cue cards to keep your lies str8 at this point.

Is there some reason why the old benches were good enough for October of 2012, but not good enough for February March? of 2013? Is it an ASIC odd numbered year thing? Tongue

BTW it's YOU'RE or YOU ARE stupid.
Give it up, you will never be funny, even with two sidekicks like greywhine and puertoprobably.

...and you'll never be more than a second rate cheer leading sidekick with a brown nose. Hey someone has to carry around Josh's excuse/lie Rolodex right?

Well it's not very easy to make fun of a company intending to deliver product in October and only now noticing they don't actually have benches to assemble product on.

Oh, wait, it is.
LOL, I just read about that.

I guess they weren't ready in October as they claimed.

LOL

I'm sure there's a simple explanation. They WERE all set to go in September 2012, but got stolen by a roving band of bench stealing street toughs? If only I'd studied harder and become a real ASIC design superhero...perhaps then I'd understand these complex molecular density thingies. Undecided
2217  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BTCFPGA - NO BAsics - Confirmed on: January 25, 2013, 04:00:10 PM
Communication is absolutely vital here. Simply changing order status without updating customers is bad mojo in this toxic environment. Instead of wasting time typing stuff to a handful of customers in IRC, type it in a mass email and/or forum post. While this:

Confirmed.  I will see to it that all refunds are processed.

https://www.btcfpga.com/forum/index.php?topic=1050.0

...is better than nothing, it lacks specificity utterly. It's precisely this kind of generic posts that created the tidal wave of refunds.

Any positive sightings of Bitcoin refunds? I'm holding on to faith that those of us who have put our trust fully in this new currency by attempting to purchase mining equipment with Bitcoin (thereby completing a theoretical loop) will not be left in the cold.

  Huh

I have reputable information that first all CC Refunds will be taken and after that the Bitcoin ones! The problem is that the bank for cc refunds does have not enough money, so the problem is TOM needs to provide more money, atm we don't have any sign how much money will be provided for the cc refunds, the btc ones need to wait!
Source?

Last written in IRC yesterday from Dave directly, that he is working first on CC refunds and after that on BTC refunds!

Can't for the life of me understand why Tom & Dave think IRC is an acceptable alternative to emails or forum posts. Total communication fail.

I dunno if he's just being nonchalant/faux kewl or really believes such tremendous math fail is acceptable, but I'm having a difficult time envisioning him as the caretaker of my funds.
