This is the debate topic.  Is Islam a Religion of Peace?  I am not starting a poll, because I want the matter determined by clear logic, not by numbers.  And not by quotes of old books.

Thank you.

Gay Muslim Poet From Iran Granted Asylum In . . . Israel…

In his native Iran, leaders openly wish for Israel to be wiped off the map. Yet Payam Feili, a poet and novelist, developed what he called a “special relationship” with the place, imagining it in his stories, which are replete with gay themes and Jewish symbols.

Now Mr. Feili, who is 30 and openly gay, is living in Tel Aviv as he seeks asylum in Israel. He has tattooed a Star of David on his neck.

“The more I gained a reputation outside Iran, the harder it became for me to live in Iran,” Mr. Feili said of the Islamic republic, where gay people have been executed. “Long before I left Iran,” he added, “I thought that the only other place in the world I could live was Israel.”

His is certainly an unusual path. Iran does not allow its nationals to visit Israel, which it has condemned as a “Little Satan.” Israel does not permit its citizens to travel to Iran, whose nuclear program Israeli leaders have deemed a potentially existential threat to the Jewish state. The two countries once had close ties, but that ended with the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979 — before Mr. Feili was born.

Speaking at a news conference this week in Jerusalem, Mr. Feili recounted how he got from there to here.

In recent years, he was unable to publish anything in Iran and even his friends hesitated to contact him. He said that when he began working with an Israeli who was translating his latest novella into Hebrew, government loyalists wrote articles accusing him of immorality and collaborating with the enemy.

He fled to Turkey in 2014 after being blacklisted and detained several times. Israel granted him entry on a temporary visa as a visiting artist about three months ago.

“The regime was pressing me to leave the country,” Mr. Feili said, speaking in Persian through a translator. “I got afraid,” he added. “People warned me that the articles could be a harbinger of worse things to come.”

A slender, delicate figure sporting a ring with a large turquoise stone, blue nail polish and ripped skinny jeans, Mr. Feili grew up in a Muslim family in Karaj, Iran’s fourth largest city with about 2 million people.

Actually, there's a very easy way to get round their bullshit, don't ever apologise and just tell them to fuck off, these people aren't actually interested in your apology or being diplomatic, they want to control you and are very manipulative.

Manipulation does not have any party affiliation

Antisemitism is one that gets thrown around at people simply because they disagree with the policies of Israel a lot.  I never read Kafka.   I may have to steal one of his books.   Sounds like a righteous faggone.

2206  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Free Advice: Beware of Kafkatrapping on: March 03, 2016, 07:39:41 PM

The term "kafkatrapping" describes a logical fallacy that is popular within gender feminism, racial politics and other ideologies of victimhood. It occurs when you are accused of a thought crime such as sexism, racism or homophobia. You respond with an honest denial, which is then used as further confirmation of your guilt. You are now trapped in a circular and unfalsifiable argument; no one who is accused can be innocent because the structure of kafkatrapping precludes that possibility.

The term derives from Franz Kafka's novel The Trial in which a nondescript bank clerk named Josef K. is arrested; no charges are ever revealed to the character or to the reader. Josef is prosecuted by a bizarre and tyrannical court of unknown authority and he is doomed by impenetrable red tape. In the end, Josef is abducted by two strange men and inexplicably executed by being stabbed through the heart. The Trial is Kafka's comment on totalitarian governments, like the Soviet Union, in which justice is twisted into a bitter, horrifying parody of itself and serves only those in charge.

Kafkatrapping twists reason and truth into self-parodies that serve victimhood ideologues who wish to avoid the evidence and reasoned arguments upon which truth rests. The term appears to have originated in a 2010 article written by author and open source software advocate Eric S. Raymond. He opens by acknowledging the worth of equality before the law and of treating others with respect. But, he notes, "[g]ood causes sometimes have bad consequences." One such consequence is that tactics used to raise consciousness can veer "into the creepy and pathological, borrowing the least sane features of religious evangelism."

Raymond offers various models of how kafkatrapping operates. He calls the two most common ones A and C.

Two things:

1/ First hmm... Yeah and? I mean it's like if I said "beware of scamming" it's not that what you're saying is false, it's just that it's a bit useless don't you think?
2/ Second... Why are you saying it's the speciality of racists or feminists? Liberalists and capitalists use it as much as they can! It's a common attack used by any kind of ideology.

I have never said such things in this thread. This advice works for everybody, you, me, etc.

Another High Profile Campus Hate Crime Turns Out To Be A Hoax…

Clinton was more than eager to believe lies, once more

The allegation set social media ablaze, sowing shock and outrage as it went: Three black students at the University at Albany had been attacked on a city bus by a group of white men who used racial slurs as other passengers and the driver sat silently by.

The Jan. 30 episode, reported to the police, would draw hundreds of people to a campus rally against racism; an emotional response from the university’s president; and even the attention of Hillary Clinton, who condemned the attack on Twitter.

“We are shocked, upset, but we will remain unbroken,” one of the young women who reported the assault, Asha Burwell, said at the rally, on Feb. 1. “We stand here with strength because we value our worth as black women and as human beings in general.”

But only a few weeks later, what seemed to be the latest iteration of a now-familiar debate about race on campus — the protests, the anguished soul-searching, the calls for greater faculty diversity and administrative changes — has metastasized into a controversy of an even more scorching kind: the allegation, the authorities said, was a lie.

Surveillance videos did not support the accounts of the young women, Ms. Burwell, Alexis Briggs and Ariel Agudio. Neither did the statements of multiple fellow passengers. Rather than being victims of a hate crime, the authorities said, the women had been “the aggressors,” hitting a 19-year-old white woman on the bus.

But according to Warmer religion, it is not hypocrisy.  It's time for you to understand, and revel in, your rights to carbon credits and carbon offsets.

You're really tiring talking about warmer religion...

Like you're also talking about the "round earth religion" and the "O2 is the base of life religion"?

The 'flat earth/round [spherical] earth' thing is a psy-op designed to give warmistas an excuse to avoid debates with rational people.  Much like the '99% of sciententists say' class of argument.  These are necessary because they inevitably get their asses handed to them when they try to argue coherently on scientific merit.  Nobody I know who has a basic competence science believes the 'flat earth' nonsense.  I'll wager that about the only people who do are only pretending to as part of their shill game.

I've not heard of the 'O2 religion' thing.  People who have the aforementioned basic competence recognize immediately that O2 is a highly abundant(*) waste product of the vast majority of life on earth by biomass.  CO2, on the other hand, is a rare and valuable trace gas necessary for the existence of said biomass for which there is much competition.

* except in anaerobic conditions where the atmosphere is excluded.

edit: slight.

I hope the poster will give us links about that O2 religion. I want to know more.

Clinton Aides Shared Passwords To Access Classified Information…

The FBI is investigating whether computer passwords were shared among Hillary Clinton’s close aides to determine how sensitive intelligence “jumped the gap” between the classified systems and Clinton’s unsecured personal server, according to an intelligence source familiar with the probe.

The source emphasized to Fox News that “if [Clinton] was allowing other people to use her passwords, that is a big problem.” The Foreign Service Officers Manual prohibits the sharing of passwords.

Such passwords are required to access each State Department network. This includes the network for highly classified intelligence — known as SCI or Sensitive Compartmented Information — and the unclassified system, known as SBU or Sensitive But Unclassified, according to former State Department employees.

It was funny at the beginning but now, the things that "texters" do are just stupid.
This is just one of the examples. IIRC there was a place (in China) where they even added a sidewalk for people who are using their smartphones while walking.

Are people becoming blind idiots because of smartphones?
Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, obssesion with likes and selfies. This should answer your questions. Seems like a decent way of controlling the masses.

Smart pohne will make you be more stupid. Well not so but let say to be more depended. So without your smart phone you can't immagine one hour of your life, not to say more..you have everything on your phone, gallery, memories, your agenda, messages, contacts, app what to wear, wel everything...so you can not live without apps
Even though this is the case with majority of the users, it does not necessarily happen. If you use the smartphone for proper reasons, and don't waste time on nonsense then you are fine. The cases of digital amnesia are just going to get worse.

One's could argue that this digital stupidity will lead to a new kind of natural evolution.

Those people becomming more and more stupid might maybe die before getting laid.
See the numerous deaths because of the dangerous selfies. The accident because of people not looking at the road while texting.
It all makes up a new kind of natural selection IMHO Smiley

Border Crime Taking A Toll On Residents In Southwest New Mexico, Arizona

Residents of New Mexico's Bootheel and parts of southern Arizona say human smuggling and drug trafficking is taking its toll on the region.

The Deming Headlight reports that residents are scheduled Thursday to express their concerns to federal officials during a meeting at the Animas Community Center in Animas, New Mexico.

Judy Keeler, a longtime resident of the rural border region, says her home was recently burglarized and it's not an unusual episode for other residents.

Residents have said state Highway 80 has become a favorite for Mexican cartel drug runners who manage to navigate out of the Peloncillo Mountains along the Arizona-New Mexico border. They want an even more increased presence from the U.S. Border Patrol.

School Reportedly Creates ‘Safe Space’ for Students Hurt by ‘Tequila Party’

    Offended students also received counseling.

Some students wore sombreros to a tequila-themed birthday party at Bowdoin College — and others were so offended that the school had to provide them with safe spaces and counseling to deal with it.

According to the school’s newspaper, the Bowdoin Orient, the e-mail invitation to the event called it “a ‘tequila’ party” and then added, “we’re not saying it’s a fiesta, but we’re also not not saying that Smiley (we’re not saying that).”

This phrasing was, presumably, aiming to poke fun at the way the PC police often lose their minds over pretty much any party where tequila is present — which wound up being exactly what happened with this one.

Yep. According to the Orient, one student (1) reported that some of the attendees had been wearing sombreros at the same time as they were drinking tequila at the party, and all hell broke loose.

In an e-mail to National Review Online, sophomore Richard Arms states that there have been “3 school-wide emails from deans and our president, and there have been several ‘safe-space’ opportunities on campus for students to discuss how they were hurt and offended” by the party.

What’s more, the General Assembly of Bowdoin Student Government issued a “Statement of Solidarity to stand by all students who were affected by the ‘tequila’ party that occurred on 20 February 2016.”

Crack Dealer Freed Early Under Obama Plan Murders Woman, 2 Kids

A convicted crack dealer who left prison early as part of the Obama administration’s mass release of federal inmates has been indicted by a grand jury for fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend and her two kids in Columbus, Ohio. The gory crime drew national attention because the children, ages 7 and 10, were murdered to eliminate them as witnesses in the brutal massacre of their 32-year-old mother.

This week a grand jury in Franklin County returned a 10-count, death-penalty indictment against the ex-con, 35-year-old Wendell Callahan, for the triple murders. Callahan broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and stabbed the three victims, according to a statement issued by Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announcing the indictment. The bloody crime scene was discovered by the woman’s current boyfriend, who subsequently engaged in a fight with Callahan before he fled. The indictment includes charges of aggravated murder with prior calculation and design and aggravated murder of victims under the age of 13. “There are multiple charges regarding the three victim deaths because there are different methods to commit the crime of murder and the Prosecutor’s Office typically charges all methods”, O’Brien stated. Callahan is in jail on $3 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned later this week.

Callahan should have been in jail when the crimes occurred, but he was released four years early because federal sentencing guidelines for crack dealers got reduced. The change is part of President Obama’s effort to reform the nation’s justice system as a way of ending racial discrimination. The initiative was technically launched back in 2010 when the president signed a measure that for the first time in decades relaxed drug-crime sentences he claimed discriminated against poor and minority offenders. This severely weakened a decades-old law enacted during the infamous crack cocaine epidemic that ravaged urban communities nationwide in the 1980s. As part of the movement the U.S. Sentencing Commission lowered maximum sentences for drug offenders and made it retroactive, leading to the early release of thousands of violent thugs like Callahan.

In November the administration began releasing 6,000 drug convicts coined “non-violent” offenders whose sentences were too long under the old guidelines. News reports quickly surfaced contradicting the administration’s assessment that the newly released convicts were not violent. Among them was the leader of a multi-million dollar operation that smuggled drugs from Canada to Maine. Prosecutors refer to the 29-year-old con as a “drug kingpin” who was one of “America’s Most Wanted.” Shortly before the administration’s mass release of drug convicts, federal prosecutors warned that drug trafficking is inherently violent and therefore the phrase “non-violent drug offenders” is a misnomer. The nation’s prosecutors also cautioned that reducing prison sentences for drug offenders will weaken their ability to bring dangerous drug traffickers to justice.

WaPo and NYT confirm Hillary email investigation is a CRIMINAL investigation

WaPo:

The Justice Department has granted immunity to the former State Department staffer who worked on Hillary Clinton’s private email server as part of a criminal investigation into the possible mishandling of classified information, according to a senior law enforcement official.

    [...]

The Clinton campaign has described the probe as a security review. But current and former officials in the FBI and at the Justice Department have said investigators are trying to determine whether a crime was committed.

NYT:

A federal law enforcement official said that barring any unforeseen changes, the F.B.I. investigation could conclude by early May. Then the Justice Department will decide whether to file criminal charges and, if so, against whom.

    [...]

The F.B.I.’s case did begin as a security referral from the inspectors general of the State Department and the nation’s intelligence agencies, who were concerned that classified information might have been stored outside a secure government network. But multiple law enforcement officials said the matter quickly became an investigation into whether anyone had committed a crime in handling classified information.
