Can the 741s be safely overclocked with the +1 voltage setting in cgminer?

Assuming there is sufficient cooling, which there is this time of year...

M

don't bother  no seems to be able to do so and get better numbers then the 0 setting.

there are some with 20 or 30 units maybe they did get some good +1 miners

22143  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to avoid high tax buying antminer in Europe on: November 29, 2017, 01:45:34 AM
Hello i bought 1 antminer s9 December batch (but it arived even before L3+ nov batch) i sent it via fedex i live in France and received an SMS from fedex asking me for 245 euro tax
that's very high amount any one bought one in france ?
can i reduce that amount ?

how many euro was the miner and the shipping?

your vat is over 15%

so if you paid under 1600 euro that tax is high

so what did it cost?

Hi . I have bought one . But i have problem in this miner it reboot automatically after few minutes and never reach 9.3th . Also the fans speed are too slow its 1290 in , so the temperature adjust to over 80C and then after few minutes it shut down and reebot automatically . Whats the problem with this whatsminer M3 ??

I had the same issue with mine, I’ve added a vent bracket and a direct 3m duct outside, this has solved the shutdown issues, it’s still running at 83degrees, 11.5/th

yes  it needed the  air flow.

I had mine in a very cool place no issues about doing 11th.

Yep  ups raises rates on Jan 1 or 2

my first rma today of a 1080 ti  the msi aero  is not detected   on 3 different boards.

We had 2 MSI 1080 (non Ti) Aero GPUs arrive defective from the factory in the same order earlier this year (both of them would overheat within a few minutes even with reduced power limits and 100% fan). We also had a MSI Armor 1080 purchased around the same time that was wonky (all sorts of errors on multiple test machines) and got RMAed at the same time. This was when the mining craze was getting ridiculous and I think Quality Control was rushed and really sloppy on that batch from MSI.

they saids 15 to 35 days turn around.. so  that would be dec 13 to Jan 2  wonder which one it will be closer to Grin

I am shifting more towards evga the last orders.

I repaired the asus   blower by pulling the blower fan and putting this fan on the casing

you should get tagged for sharing personal details..
Look who is talking.

I have reported to forum admins.
You can DOX anyone but theymos.
That is not entirely correct. You can DOX anyone as long as you are not trolling. Doxxing someone just to annoy them or cause problems will get you in trouble. However, that is not the case here.

Soo I get a pm from the op. i have done signatures prior  but have not done so in at least a year.

Came to the thread read it and have found  stuff that looks wrong.

So I will pass on the signature  .

Good luck to the op if he is good  and respect to those that think he is not good.

BTW  this is why I stopped signatures.

Phil - I finally got my Avalon up and running. I'm pointed at nicehash , I don't like the pool is on west coast and I am east coast.

What sha256 pool do you recommend. ?

@cintronick or anyone else your input is always valued as well !

I do nicehash.

The weekly payoff saves a lot of tx fees for me as I move coins around a lot

To be honest, Just get the GPU type that is on sale/lower price than usual.  I got some 1080s for cheaper than 1070tis some time back.  And with profitability right now ( and if you have low electric cost ) its profitable to get old GPU's too, 7950, 7970, 280x, mod them and stick em on equihash for example.  If you have the room/space/etc.

yeah  price is king

next is sols per watt

then rma service

here is a decent card at a decent price

and a question  my asus  1080 ti turbo fan is dying  any repair tips?

I know I can simply stick a bgears turbo fan  and problem solved.

460-470 sol/s on a GTX 1070 ti running at 106 watts +200 core +700 memory - working both of my EVGA SC 1070 ti, the bunch Voskcoin used in his rig in his video, 6 more in a rig I helped build as a consulting job last week, and the Zotac Mini I got today.

1080 hits almost identical figures, but costs typically 10% or so more for the "same model" card.
+100 core +100 memory seems to be the optimal point for the EVGA SC and Zotac Mini 1080 models, haven't done a lot of fine tuning on the rest of my 1080 collection yet (mostly Gigabytes).

1070 has to push a lot harder and runs noticeably less efficiently to get anywhere near that ballpark, but it DOES tend to cost a fair bit less.
I've not done any "most efficient point" testing on my 1070 collection yet, as they're all low enough power that I can run them at higher TDP % to maximise hashrate (they're also all in left-over FAH 3-card rigs at this point).

did you try it with zm miner too ? because i get around 478 - 491 on 1070 with it and 580 on gtx 1080 with 550 memory and 120 cclock tdp 90 %

Not there yet.  Is it on smos?

What mainboard for around 3 or 4 VGA support? If I have more fund, I plan to buy more VGA. Is PSU 600 watt enough to run 4 VGAs? How about electricity consumed, is 4 VGAs consume four times electricity than one VGA only? Thanks.

okay  a lot of ways to go here

a cheap used mobo  could work for you

Having done many escrows  I would not be able to guarantee  the gear.

But  How many  units of what gear do you have?

Depending on  what the gear is  and where you ship from maybe I can figure out if it can work.

I am USA based.

Looks like we are in the same state. Which is why I may be able to do it.

22156  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Is my Antminer S9 running fine? on: November 28, 2017, 02:32:53 AM

So I have moved the Antminer to a new room that is quite hotter. I am puzzled by the numbers above and wondering if it's fine.

My question2:

1) My HW error rate is 0.0010%... It used to be at 0.0004% over the past few weeks, should I be worried?

2) Chip temp 82-79-82, is that worrisome? Too high?

3) Fan #6 is always running at 6,000 RPM. Is that a problem? Can it run at that speed forever and is it bad for the miner?

Overall the air flow is good but I'm just worried I am killing my antminer.

TYVM!!!!

watch your heat but you are still okay.

Hw 0.01 is too high
Hw 0.001 is okay

for every 1000 dollar you would earn you lose 1 dollar at the current rates

temps under 100 are okay

temps under 95 are better

temps under 90 are good

your temps are under 85  that is very good.
22157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 27, 2017, 11:33:50 PM
Should I just get the Ver 1.0 then? Phil, do you have any left?

hey Phil... thanks for linking that EVGA 1kw PSU!  I just picked one up as that is by far the best price on this or any other good 1kw PSU i've seen in a long time!

I am actually finally about to take the plunge into Nvidia mining so this PSU should be perfect for what I think might be a 6x 1070 rig.  I have eliminted both 1060's and 1080ti's from consideration but still trying to decide for sure between 1070/1070ti/1080.  All seem to be about the same cost/hash/watt/profitability ratio... at least from what I have gleaned so far.

Any recommendations between these 3?  I assume I can mix and match?  maybe something like 2 of each?  Any recommendation on brands? EVGA seems to be good in this space but seems like they have various versions even within say the 1070.  It's a bit confusing coming from Radeon-only GPUs so far, so any recommendations would be welcomed.

For instance, these 2 look identical spec wise but the 1st is $25 cheaper than the 2nd. I am missing a nuance? And is that nuance important for mining?

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487248

Also, has anyone here put 1070ti's to use and compared vs regular 1070s?  What kind of difference hash-rate and wattage have you seen between the 2?

I can not tell the difference between them other then the part number.

I love my 1070ti's

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P4-5678-KR

they get 500 sols using 130 watts

my 1070's get  only 465 sols using 130 watts
22158  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Thoughts on splitter cables 6-20 P to C13 female connectors? on: November 27, 2017, 10:16:55 PM
Hi Folks,

Most of my plugs or say all of them are set up on a 20 amp breaker with 2 receptacles on each for a total of 1.5 KW x 2 S9 antminers energy consumption. If I have some low power consumption machines say 800 watts. Do you think I can use the below splitter cable to split each plug in 2? Let me know your thoughts... Thanks.

https://www.pduwhips.com/products/2127-6-20p-to-c13-y-splitter-power-cables.aspx

are recptecles 240 volts or 120 volts?

yes to 240 volts

no to 120 volts.

I assume they are 240 volts but have to ask.

22159  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 27, 2017, 04:28:41 PM
If the percentage is 0.001 or less it's nothing to worry about.  Wink

So 500 HW errors on one board over a period of 2 days, should I worry about that? If I was to ever have to upgrade my firmware, am I correct with my earlier statements about using the 650 frequency firmware? The third one listed? Because on my miner it says each board is running around 650 to 660 frequency.

Do not tweak it til you break it bro. Grin

1000 hw a day is nothing.

so 500 hw in 2 days is 4x lower.

s-9's break they break they break they break.

So  leave it alone  if all boards are hashing  and it is not running super hot like 100c

If you are getting over 13th
and if temps are under 100c

it is a winner

looking nice, neat & great @citronick, apologies bro, been really bz, happy to see the innovative ideas n the gpus running Smiley

@OP good to see much projects going on.

the capt is bz as hell as i'm a 1 man show.

keep up the good work nice to see new stuffs.

happy mining, happy making lotsa $$$

Yeah it is hard as I am one man show for the most part.

Buysolar has closed on three 2 acre lots.

Plan is build a two acre 240 volt 400 amp using funds from current array.

Maybe may or June.

Then using funds from two arrays build a second two acre array and finally build a third one.

Maybe may June 2018
Then may June 2019
Then  May June 2020
So

1 x 400 x 240. Now
2 x 400 x 240.  June 2018
3 x 400 x 240.  June 2019
4 x 400 x 240.  June 2020

About

15 kwatts
42 kwatts
67 kwatts
92 kwatts

And in a way it is close to free power.
