As more an more people actually try out YaCoin, it will become clear how fast (and robust) transacting in YAC really is. At this point, early on, it must be a little unclear.
As more and more folks give mining a go (as N increases), it will start to become clear whether even CPUs can mine blocks throughout time.
Hopefully YaCoin will attract more developers and also sites will start to accept YaCoin. I think there was already a gambling site that is accepting it. Saw a forum topic.

This is hilarious.. There is no other way to put it - you are trying to regulate coins.
This is a free market and in a free market competition is very healthy.
I'm just trying to get cryptocoin supporters to join forces except of cannibalizing itself. Of course the 'free market' will behave as it wishes...but wild free markets can also end up shooting itself in the foot and ruining the fun for everyone. FUD

[...] I've seen your tags before kalgecin, arent you that guy who fixed the intrusion on SPC service that was sending BTC to random addresses? hahaha, nice to know you have an interest in this fork
I like switching projects from time to time ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I'm actually working on a GPU miner for this.... opencl is a bit trickier than cpuminer.... more things to consider. but doable. Gona send a test copy to some people who show their love ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Nice to know the serious players have interest in YaCoin. Now.. about my Proof of Stake question above... ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Anyone know how to enable YaCoin Proof of Stake mining?

Please stop mining this coin you are only subsidizing, with hard earned electricity, the small group who effectively pre-mined 2 million coins
has the coin been premined that much? That sucks! someone should make a "cpu only coin" that hasnt been premined. на какой premine? wake up bro, u wer jus late, better luck next time people shouldn't sleep if they want to "premine" ;-) Depends what part of the world your in. it was night here when people started mining. (Yeah i couldn't sleep ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) was just watching the comedy :-P) Must have been cool to see it! I even woke up my friends to help them mine. introducing new people to this YA revolution ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Nice. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Does anyone know how to enable PoS mining with YaCoin?
|
|
|
I mined for hours with 1 thread on a Core2Duo and absolutely nothing. Maybe this processor is too slow.
I know that some people have had issues. One of my friends had downloaded onto Win7, but the thing would not mine. taskmgr showed all CPUs idle. I think a bug, such this could be the issue.

A small group? LOL. You mean anyone with a CPU?

has the coin been premined that much? That sucks! someone should make a "cpu only coin" that hasnt been premined. There was no premine. You can still get coins by CPU mining, especially after next N shift when GPUs get screwed and CPUs are put back on level playing field.

Edit: Some graphics. I give them away as Public Domain. I'll post a SVG if people seriusly wants to use them. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FB5dFZ5g.png&t=663&c=frUlGrJcPnimRg) This is probably the _BEST_ logo I've seen for all cyptcoins including bitcoin. Well done. You are obviously talented. Whose going to setup an official website for the most awesome YaCoin? brother! you have the same idea with me! i make a site http://www.yacoin.orgbut it's not good enough maybe we can do it together! Pass. I've no idea about web development. Anyone else? We gotta keep pushing this forward. This is _key_ in any real success of the currency. yes! YAC is cooler than others! CPU mining make more normal PC can join this currency! so i am glad to help this currency better . Have you seen this thread where the YaCoin creator explains how it's resistant to GPUs? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=199888.msg2083600#msg2083600I think that a successful decentralised currency must allow everyone to participate equally. This really levels the playing field a lot and gives the average user some reason to participate in the network. Very clever! so cool. i love it. i have puted it in yacoin.org Are you sure it's working? I don't see it there. yes, there are more than 300 visitor maybe my dns server not good tomorrow i change it I mean the logo. I don't see it on your website. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) oh before the logo is confirmd by the pocopoco maybe we should wait haha Good idea, but it might be too late.. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

There are so many coins being created it's a job to keep up and try to get in while they are still mineable... In a month will there be 50+ altcoins? I was happy with new coins being created, but is this too fast and too overwhelming?
Free market in action + open source style evolution. There will be more...
|
|
|
What for heaven's sake makes YaCoin better than any other coin release the last month?
- A vast user-base holding the currency (unlike all other altcoins, this was CPU only solo mining) - PoS and PoW (long-term power efficiency) - Real GPU resistance via sliding N in scrypt - Ultra-fast confirmations - A reasonably good developer (pacopaco) and an enthusiastic community I think that's a enough to distinguish YaCoin as the most attractive altcoin (since PPC).

I'm actually waiting for YAC on BTC-E ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) +10 for YAC on BTC-e Has anyone written to BTC-e? Though I'd much rather see a focus on wider adoption. That is, getting YAC accepted by shopping sites. Why? Because YaCoin is about 60 times faster than Bitcoin. Because YaCoin is about 60 times faster than Bitcoin. I think you mean because this is one alt-coin you managed to adopt early What for heaven's sake makes YaCoin better than any other coin release the last month? Fair point, but have you actually tried YAC? It's the fastest I've used. Try it and then post. And to answer you (fair) point: As with many folks out there who have only a few CPUs, I have also actually managed to get _some_ YAC, which is more than I can say for other altcoins. I believe the wide dissemination of coins is going to be one of the strong points for YaCoin. Adue

Speculative exchange price anyone ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Short term: 0.02 YAC/BTC, then 0.008 - 0.004, then back up to 0.03 YAC/BTC? Thoughts?
|
|

If YAC hits an exchange I'll burn some YACs to fight red candles, for whatever it's worth. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) If it hits a reasonable exchange that I'd trust, such as BTC-e, then I'd definitely be buying some YAC!
