2221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What difficulty do you face on trading bitcoin? on: August 07, 2020, 10:22:44 PM
I'm a citizen of a country where bitcoin is illegal and there's no good way of trading bitcoin in legal way and secured way. I have been trading through the community I have built within these years but sometimes I got difficulty selling bitcoin, not much although. If you are from a country where BTC is legit, I think you are enjoying trading bitcoin. But what about the countries where BTC is illegal? Do you have any such way to trade bitcoin securely? I would love to hear the experiences, difficulty you faced/faces.

I think if you really dedicated to trading or investing in bitcoin their are always some ways since its bitcoin cannot really fully banned in one country.

Luckily it's not banned in my country and probably bitcoin has a bad image in my country because it is used in some illegal scam activities, but still, as long as you understand bitcoin you still going to invest in it.
2222  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for advice on: August 07, 2020, 09:58:00 PM
Hello everyone. I am a total newbie, looking for a bit of advice. I want to start trading , but not even sure where to open an account.I am in the USA I would really like to fund it by using credit card cuz I'm a bit nervous about giving my bank account information. coinbase seems to be a popular one but from what I understand they only accept ACH's from the bank. Is there one that people recommend that over another? it looks like this could be fun to do, I'm obviously only going to put in small amount of money to see if I can handle it. Thanks

I think it is not a good idea to invest something that comes from a loan or a any credits since investment could always be risky at some point if you don't have funds don't invest at all.

You should invest money that you could afford to lose, I think giving your information in the bank is fine as long as the bank is working legally in your country.

Hi

my sister wants to know i it possible to move money from yer Bitcoin wallet and into yer bank, she read something on TV which had a link today but the link has changed to this: https://gordon-ramsay-kitch.myshopify.com/products/grcop for some reason

any advice would be grateful

cheers

I think you could use some bitcoin wallet to store your bitcoin and then when you are going to cash out your bitcoin you could just convert it in the wallet and then directly put it in your bank account.

It might work in some custodial wallet which is not really recommended but it is going to work. But still, you should go for something secured like Ethereum, etc. and then you could just move it to some exchange when you could withdraw it.
2225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin replace Gold someday? on: August 04, 2020, 07:37:52 PM
In these times of turmoil, Gold is reaching new ATHs in price. But Bitcoin doesn't leave behind, as it quickly recovered to its "pre-COVID" prices on the market. It's today where Bitcoin prices are relatively stable. With a limited supply of only 21 million coins, hardened security, and a focus on decentralization, Bitcoin is often viewed by many as the successor of Gold. One of Bitcoin's greatest benefits on top of Gold, is portability. You can virtually carry your Bitcoin with you safely when travelling, without anyone noticing. That's not the case with Gold, as you'd need to carry physical bullion with you. Other than portability, Gold and Bitcoin are very much alike.

Do you think that Bitcoin will be able to replace Gold someday? As we shift into the "intangible" world, people will "ditch" physical stuff in exchange for digital items. Bitcoin can become the new digital Gold which serves as a safe-haven asset (store of value) in times of need. COVID-19 will greatly encourage people to adopt Bitcoin over Gold as their next store of value of choice. Thoughts? Huh

Probably not, I think bitcoin has a big potential in the future becoming a top digital currency as we can see the bitcoin adaptation.

But I think gold is especial replacing gold is difficult and I don't think bitcoin could do that even when bitcoin is already at the top currency in the future. Having a physical thing like gold is the difference of both, owning bitcoin is just owning an imaginary gold that is just depending in the demand of the investors.
2226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Faucets - Do people still use it, and are they worthwhile? on: August 03, 2020, 07:57:14 PM
Hi,

I know crypto faucets have been around for a long time, but I never bothered to try any of them.

I recently noticed that some faucets still attract so much traffic, and it really got me curious whether using faucets daily is actually worth your time.

Please share your opinions about them, and your experience with them if you actually used it for some time.

Thanks in advance.

I think it's not profitable, it would consume a lot of time claiming in a faucet and in the end you wouldn't even earn a good amount of profit in it.

For me, it is just a waste of time and I think you should just stick in a real investment like investing in bitcoin or trading some altcoins in the market. It might be more profitable and recommended by all of the traders out there.
2227  Other / Archival / Re: [LIST] Merchants Who Accepts ETH + Cryptwerk Review on: August 02, 2020, 08:00:11 PM
Most of these merchants do not operate globally, they are only providing services in the US or Europe. This is one of the major problems if think about Ethereum adoption. Whereas many Merchants that accept Bitcoin do operate globally.

The only good thing about this list is that many merchants have started accepting Ethereum now.

Agree but it was a great list I didn't think that they are going to accept ETH at this point or even cryptocurrency.

Also, it might be concerned if some of the websites are legitimate buts its a great option having this cryptocurrency as a payment option but the main problem was it was not available in all countries.
2228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone in the Bitcoin ATM business? on: August 02, 2020, 07:35:49 PM
How is going? Seems like machines continued fast growth during Covid... has it been a good year for the BATM owners?

I guess it depends on your country, probably it would be a good business if bitcoin was already popular in your country and bitcoin ATM was already popular in your country.

Comparing in my country which I think bitcoin ATM business was not popular and probably not a good business since almost all of the bitcoin ATM here was not used and old so bitcoin ATM is just ending up the closing.
2229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should there be any age limit of Gambling? on: August 02, 2020, 07:24:12 PM
Since we were kids we used to make bets , as for me even a small Race or a big project meant a bet between friends, then as I grew up, I realized that it's more of a Sports .

At the same time unfortunately the country I belong to does have a strong ban on Gambling , STILL , I see old Grandpas , Dad's , uncle's playing Poker outside with an amazing set-up.

Crypto Gambling is a whole new level , there are so many games , it have revolutionised the gambling industry in a whole different way , This provides Privacy and Variation that is much needed.

It's much safer and at the same time I do think there are amazing offers out there even for first time customers and the referrals , this is the new era.

There is one important question we have to ask:

What age does categorize a person to be mature enough to Gamble ?

-18?
-21?

Does the age even hold a meaning? Should it be regulated ? Since Crypto gambling sites have to be super private and therefore regulating the age is a big factor.

Should steps be taken to take care that we don't being up a generation of addictive gamblers or it's all good ?

[Something fun I want to share: My Private Tutor who was supposed to teach me and 10 other kids , used to have a small illegal business of Gambling on Sports and every Match was betting time , parents apparently did not know anything about it 😂] <Is the ban even necessary, people will still do what they want to do>

For sure gambling was not for kids so there should be age restriction at all of the gambling casinos and even in gambling websites.+

I think 18 is already fine to gamble as long as you are already earning your own money I think its fine to do gambling, but i don't think it was regulated since online gambling doesn't required any KYC so you could easily cheat every gambling websites.

2230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Trust a Project Announce BY A Legendary Member on: August 02, 2020, 05:25:44 PM
Will you trust a project that the one that announced it in the announcement thread is a legendary member even though the legendary has announced that he is not part of the team and was just part of the service he offered.

Let me know your thoughts here.

For sure legendary members will be more trusted than a lower rank member here in the forum, but when it comes to project announcement or bounty, etc. I think it doesn't really matter since the project success doesn't depend on the member who posts it but depends on the developer or the owner.

If the project is a scam usually a legendary member could identify it so they will not likely going to accept project that is a scam or maybe low quality.
2231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still sleeping? on: August 02, 2020, 04:28:16 PM
The title sound funny right. It is not news that the crypto market is booming now, I hope you are already putting every necessary things in place to maximize the state of the market now and the state to come. If you are yet to start investing in one or two promising project by now, it means you are still sleeping. Wake up and do something. I have seen a lot of post complaining about how they missed out of 2017, are you sure you are not going to miss out of this? Hmmmm.

I think for sure they are sleeping but we also need to monitor the market. I do spend a lot of time trading especially when the market price is having a lot of volatility or the market price is pumping.

I guess there are a lot of times where I miss-selling some altcoins or even in bitcoin because I don't monitor the movement of the tokens. Setting it to automatic sell would give profit but it's not convenient and not the best thing to do in trading you need to wait for the right timing to sell the token for the best profit possible so monitor and maybe skip sleeping is a good option.
2232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fee calculation on: August 02, 2020, 03:33:41 PM
Hi

I'm new, and I'm lost.
How do I calculate a transaction fee? I've read if it is too low it will never complete the transaction, but a friend of mine says it is a myth. I don't know... it look like i can loose money in a fee or in the limb...

Thank you!

I guess it really depends on the bitcoin wallet that you are using and usually when the price of the bitcoin pump it also increases the market price of bitcoin.

But still, even if it is just a small percentage it is still a big amount, but I guess you have no choice since the fee is a part of every transaction.

You could just find a wallet that has a small fee so that it wouldn't be a problem.

2234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How bad malware could be on bitcoin wallet devices on: August 01, 2020, 05:26:34 PM
I guess with enough knowledge about malware or if you are just careful with the files or program that you are downloading online you could pretty much identity the suspicious program that is causing problem in your computer.

Also do not download on websites that look suspicious because it might have malware or virus in it. I think windows defender is doing a good job detecting some of the malware that you are downloading but I think adding an antivirus could still be useful.
2235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BOUNTY PAYMENT MATTERS on: August 01, 2020, 03:31:00 PM
Seems to be a good idea for the bounty hunters to avoid scams here in the forum by the bounty projects.

But I think a lot of projects is not gonna agree with this, but maybe if they have a good capital they could somehow pay some amount for insurance of the bounty, so that bounty hunters would still get a certain amount of money even if the project is not successful of even if the project fails.

There are a lot of suggestions about bounty projects scam but I guess it is not moderated so forum do not really do actions about it.
2236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Network fee is killing my small profit on: August 01, 2020, 01:42:53 PM
I have started to buy BTC and sell them in a higher price (in BDT). For example, imagine I have purchased $100 worth  of BTC @86BDT per USD and sold them instantly @87BDT per USD. This is a good business even if you take 1BDT per USD profit. I was having some good profits each day.
But now after the fee has increased, it has been impossible to get profit. There's a transaction cost which I can not avoid and it is very high. I trade small amount like $50 even (To make a strong hub). In such cases, I have no profit almost unless I'm dealing $300 or over. That's a pain to pay such fee but I have no way because I do not make a bad relation with buyers and sellers.

I guess fees are just common problems when investing in cryptocurrency or especially in bitcoin since the market value is always increasing the same as the network fee.

Sometimes there was some platform that you needed to transfer your bitcoin in order to withdraw that is adding to the fee, I guess investing directly in a trusted wallet where you could immediately take out the bitcoin or convert it is a good option.
2237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kobe Bryant's death has been used for scamming. on: July 31, 2020, 03:48:06 PM
I have seen an article that talks about the death of the legendary NBA player Kobe Bryant which has been used for scamming people.
Quote
Hackers are attempting to profit from the death of Kobe Bryant by hiding malware within downloadable pictures of the basketball legend.

Researchers at Microsoft Security Intelligence discovered that a desktop wallpaper of Bryant contained hidden software that secretly hijacked a person’s computer in order to mine cryptocurrency.

They called it as crytojacking worm. As expcted, scammers uses this opportunity to take advantage for scamming people. The growing trend has been found within images of various celebrities in recent months, often in the form of wallpapers that can be downloaded to a person’s desktop or smartphone.
Cryptojacking software was recently discovered within high-resolution images of musician Taylor Swift ad the actress Scarlett Johansson.
Cyber security firm Sonicwall registered over 50 million cryptojacking attacks in the first half of 2019, typically in the form of social engineering or other online scams similar to the Bryant malware.
Sonicwall said cryptojacking techniques were evolving but that it remained “relevant as a lucrative option for cyber criminals”.
Quote
“We found a malicious HTML file posing as a Kobe Bryant wallpaper that contains a coin mining script.”

Here is the source.

Didn't expect this it was possible to run a software or some kind of application in the background with just downloading a photo.

Maybe you could easily notice that something is wrong when you download that file, I doubt if they could run some programs in a JPEG or PNG file.

Buts it's common running some programs in a someone's pc to mine some bitcoin.
2238  Other / Archival / Re: Bank Account Freezed on: July 30, 2020, 06:47:20 PM
After a long time, I found a right place to ask my question.

Last year, my bank account got frozen. Bank said that my account is blocked based on the instruction from Cyber Crime.

I did few P2P Trades on P2P Platform. Is that the reason?

No one has contacted me so far? Does any faced similar issue and got it resolved? If Yes, how?

Update:

I am from INDIA.

I think it is because of your trades there are some banks that freezing account if there if it is used in some transaction because they don't know if it the owner is the one who makes the transaction.

it's common when you use a card outside the country without telling your bank usually the bank is going to be freeze, just contact your bank and probably they are just going to ask a few questions.
2239  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A trap of how newbies get scammed on: July 29, 2020, 07:03:43 PM
I actually try some of the investment that is very similar to this where you are going to invest a minimum amount of 0.001 BTC to start earning with just investment and they're your money will automatically going to earn profit as time goes by. With a high percentage of earning you are really going to be temp to invest especially with a high amount of profit with just investment.

At first, you could really earn the right amount that they said but eventually, you are going to encounter a lot of issues in withdrawing something like maintenance websites issues, etc. And then as the website is gaining a lot of investment it will just go to shut down and run away with the money.

It's funny because you could earn a lot especially with you have a great number of affiliates and that affiliates invest a big amount you could get a percentage of that investment. But it is still a scam you it's not recommended because in the end all of the conditions are broken.
2240  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] bitcoinmixer.org is a SCAM on: July 28, 2020, 05:39:52 AM
I tried using this website for small amount of transactions and I didn't encounter issues or any problem.

But I guess when it comes to big transactions like this there are so many problems that you encounter, Maybe because of its a good opportunity to scam since its a big amount. I'm not going to use this mixer again.
