As reported by French newspaper Lequipe, Georginio Wijnaldum has stated that he was also in contact with FC Bayern before his move to PSG. However, Paris made more of an effort to get him, after which he signed a contract with PSG until 2024.

In addition to PSG and Barcelona, Georginio Wijnaldum reveals that he also had talks with Bayern: "There were talks with Bayern Munich some time ago.. Paris were very quick in the negotiations, convinced me of the project and that I'll be part of it" [@lequipe]

Of course, Georginio Wijnaldum would have been a reinforcement for FC Bayern as well, but I still think he's a good fit for PSG. Let's wait and see if it's enough for a major title this season.

That's a new one. All I knew was Wijnaldum was close with going to Barcelona and even his medical was scheduled but PSG at the crucial point just skimmed in and hijacked the almost done deal by giving him a double-wage contract offer which totally made him change his mind. Well that surprised me and later on Ronaldo to Utd. after City rumours were going strong.

TBH couple of deals were hijacked in this past transfer windows.

From the beginning of the season when Everton hired Rafeal Benitez, I knew something was going to good for the club.
It was the same hope with Ancelotti in the last season.

I don't know if it's the same now but starting of the season when he was reported to be near to appointment as Everton's manager, many fans didn't liked the decision. Everton were kinda in a bad situation if whether to appoint him or not but they did. Hope it has settled down now.

But if at some point Everton starts performing bad I am sure fans will quickly demand or put pressure on sacking him.

A really horrible CL day today, the only game worth watching is the Barcelona - Bayern one. Hard to call it because the season just started, but with all the problems Barcelona is facing I agree with the bookmakers who chose Bayern as a strong favorite.

Villarreal - Atalanta will probably produce good football, so that might be an 'under the radar' match that is also worth watching. I'm going for both to score there.

Yeah not an exciting group matches as I thought would be but let's hope for some competition from some new teams and keep up the CL excitement level. As for Bayern vs Barca, it is a tough one but I think Barca would give a good fight and maybe avoid loss like last time. Bayern are strong but their defense has also been shown kinda below par performance in my opinion. Hopefully Barca has a plan ready today against them. I am rooting in for Barca today.

BTTS in Villareal vs Atlanta is a good choice. Both teams have good players and feels like both sides might score given the attack and defense they have.

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool are the club most interested in signing Jude Bellingham in the 2022 transfer window, and they are reportedly ready to break a club record transfer fee of £80 million for a player who is expected to replace Georginio Wijnaldum who joined PSG this season, now Dortmund has many talents who are transfer targets for other clubs and of course from a financial point of view it will be profitable for Dortmund if they sell them, but of course selling these players will make them have to bury their dreams to be able to stop the dominance of Bayern Munich later in the Bundesliga.

Surely it will be a tough choice for dortmund at this time Grin

I agree they have been quite this transfer window. I was expecting them to make some signings but except for Konate I didn't see any making the news. With Wijnaldum gone they definitely need a good central midfielder but I think they have some central midfielders like we saw Keita starting once, they have Henderson as well and last match Fabinho also played quite a crucial part in last game. So I think not really a necessity is what I feel like in central midfield area.

Also on a side note, Elliot has been playing quite well for Reds, I must admit which is helping Klopp a lot by not breaking sweat in selecting his teams midfield. Its a shame he got a horrific injury in last match but so far he really made some good contributions.

Liverpool didn't make anyone surprised by getting a solid 3-0 win away against Leeds. Salah and Mane scored goals also. I see a much powerful Liverpool compared to the last season and it makes me happy. Because they have a great lineup and they should be able to fight for the league championship this time. They are already sharing the points with the leader Manchester United.

They have been a strong team we all know that, its just that last season some crucial injuries really made them kinda weak in certain areas. But now with all the recoveries they are back with the bang now. Other teams have also improved their teams so I am really looking forward to a real test maybe like Manchester United, Chelsea or City. Closest one is 3rd October against Manchester City.

for all chelsea supporters and fans i have here a very successful and funny caricature, which shows very well the then still young and now the very experienced Romelu Lukaku Grin

IIRC Lukaku had a very good impact when he was sent to Everton on loan. Chelsea never used him properly, maybe they had already a good player in that position but now he has good experience and I must say a very good finishing now. His tenure at Inter has certainly improved him in becoming a good striker.

As a result, Liverpool won 3-0 and how I assumed Leeds could not score a goal. I do not think that the removal of Struijk was here a decisive factor - just Liverpool is much stronger. It is a pity that I was not configured to bet in this match, if I correctly remember the coefficient that only one team will score was 2.0

Removal of Struijk wasn't that much of a decisive factor but still having all players is better than playing 10 where in manager is forced to make changes , change in formation , strategy. But yeah Liverpool were really proved that they are strong and honestly Matip-Dijk combination is doing wonders for them right now
2228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 12, 2021, 05:00:54 PM
Bookmakers estimate the chance that both teams will score in this match as 1.8. To be honest, I do not understand this optimism about Leeds, in my opinion Liverpool will dominate and it is extremely unlikely that they will concede a goal. I am completely confident that Liverpool will win with a confident score.

With 1 man down and the scoreline there is no surprise here and Liverpool will come out as winner against Leeds. Guess Leeds has to go down to next game and find points now. Earlier, I thought maybe Leeds could surprise them or at least score one goal but Liverpool gave them no chance today and willbe definitely taking home 3 points. With those points they will now stand along with United and Chelsea with 10 points.

Liverpool don't need no introduction but with the Reds defense looking like it's returned to normal with the return of its big guns, I don't see them losing this afternoon,  am just hoping Mane or Jota get on the scoresheet to defuse the Salah demands, before he feels his bigger than the team.

My prediction Leeds 0-2 Liverpool

Lineup seems pretty good for both sides. It would be real work for Leeds defense to hold and keep an eye on Salah, Mane and Jota. Liverpool are favourites but don't underestimate Leeds as well. They have some good attacking unit with Bamford and Raphinha. You never know when a clean long strike might end up at back of the net.

I expect a goal from Leeds as well here so expecting like 1-2 Liverpool or 1-3 Liverpool.

PSG is playing a very risky game here.
They have turned down big money from Real for Mbappe and want with him, Neymar and Messi to finally win the Champions League.
This risk may be pay off for them, but they may be left without the European title and without Mbappe next year.
In PSG, they are obviously calculating that if they win all the trophies next year, including the Champions League, then maybe Mbappe will change his mind and give up on Real.

I agree with you that they are indeed playing a very risky game. They value the player a lot and they want him to continue and maybe they somehow believe that he will extend if they continue to push him. I think at this point they don't care about loss they are gonna incur after he leaves for free and rather just keep giving him good offers until one hits where gives on his signature.

The 1st place in the Premier League standings seems to be held by Man United, even though Liverpool will be against a weak team Leeds United but to be able to win by a goal difference of 4 is not an easy task.

The match will be played at Elland Road, and this condition will usually make the host play fiercely. In their first 3 matches in the Premier League, Leeds hasn't won once, and I think they definitely want to change that situation but this time their opponent is Liverpool, even though they faced Liverpool with all their might, Liverpool is still a big team that is hard to beat. I guess Leeds will aim for a draw, while Liverpool will aim to win.

Leeds are pretty much unpredictable team. They were in good season and I expect them to give Liverpool trouble this season as well. Liverpool have a very good squad and quite clear favourites but you never know even Leeds might surprise them. Now I am not a Leeds fan but still I am not ruling out the chance of Leeds giving Liverpool a surprise here.

Should be an interesting game as usually all Liverpool games are and Leeds one too.

Head to head wise they haven't beat Navi but in their last meeting they're able to push it to all three maps. I honestly could see Heroic beating Navi if electronic or simple suddenly underperform similar to that recent loss they had against BIG. For now I have a small live bet on Vitality map 2 (Nuke) and planning to take Navi on the next.

I never actually saw their match but judging from what you said, this should also be a close one. So far there haven't been a team giving Navi a headache but it would be lovely if Heroic gives them here in semifinal today. Well OG didn't last too long against Vitality :/

Lineup for Crystal Palace vs Spurs came in and Heung Min Son is missing out this game due to calf injury picked up in international games. Well bit sad as I had him in my FPL :/
I'm pick under 2 for this match, indeed Tottenham are at the top of the table but that doesn't describe that they are very strong, especially when Tottenham played at Palace home they can only score one goal in a couple previous match.
source

Yeah I also think so that they wouldn't be scoring much. Lucas is fast enough on the wing but Dele on the left hand side doesn't has the pace that he once used to. I like Son and Bergwijn on wing but they are missing out due to injuries. Still I think Spurs would win this match but not by many goals.

New update from Dani Alves as player collected many trophies in his career become free transfer player right now after got deal with destroy contract on Sao Paulo, I think primer league is the best destination for him although he was age old year but still have many experience how to make primer league team interested with him, now not any new update transfer or new club have announce to get him.
Now the European football transfer market has officially closed and automatically if there is a European club that signs Dani Alves of course they have to wait for the January 2022 transfer market, considering his not young age (38 old) and his attitude which is often provoked by emotions towards opponents, I think there will be very few clubs europe that might be interested in him now, in my opinion, maybe it's better for Dani Alves to continue his football career in Brazil or in less competitive competitions like China, Turkey or MLS leagues.

Quite a shame given the player he is but all happened due to financial debt of the club. Club readjusted the offer and the agents didn't accept those readjustments and that lead to Sao Paulo and Dani Alves part ways. Still there are lot of teams in Brazil who can do use of his experience. He will receive offers in no time.

So we are on to ESL Pro League Season 14 Semi finals and we have OG vs Vitality and Natis Vincere vs Heroic lined up for today. OG vs Vitality seems like easy win for Vitality but nothing can be said for sure. As for other match, Natis Vincere have been flawless in the tournament but can Heroic break the streak today? Very tough but Heroic are also have proved to be a good team since past year.

^^ It's just 3 rounds and we yet have to see 35 rounds more. There is lot of time for Arsenal but they also need to learn lessons from their mistakes. I hope they do now before it is too late.

At long last the King is home.I want to see Chrsitano  Ronaldo on premier league top scorer table. His teammates should be prepared to assist C.Ronaldo to place those goals at the back of the net. Former Manchester United player Wayne Rooney has commented regarding this matter

Yeah today the main strategy would be to drive in some balls or pass the ball forward to Ronaldo to finish and I don't think there would be any problem with that. United has very good passer of the ball like Fernandes, Pogba. Wing is also good with Greenwood and Sancho so he will have lot of support there.

Guys, what do you think about Arsenal vs Norwich City match, can Arsenal win that game or will they lose again for the third time?

I think Arsenal might be the favorite in that game to win, but their performance in the last 2 match is a bit dubious to say they will win easily. The chance may be bigger considering they are playing at home, and this match will be an important match for them to bounce back or have to stay at the bottom of the table.

They should but nothing can be said for sure. Norwich are bad on defense so Arsenal will find some is what I feel but Arsenal are also not that good in defense right now so feels like Norwich also are gonna score. BTTS should be a good call but would say avoid betting on that match.
2239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 09, 2021, 04:13:59 PM
Mmmm..  I’m not too sure about that.  You have to consider that they have other guys like Verrati and a couple of others in that midfield and a great manager in Poch.  Poch is the primary reason why Messi chose PSG.  Outside of Barca, he wanted to work with Poch.

Yeah they have a very good squad so I don't think 1-2 injuries will give them a headache or hold them down. They have good midfield with Wijnaldum, Veratti, Ander Herrea (who have been delivering some really good balls). Good defence with Marquinhos and wing backs like Hakimi who has a very great pace and now they recently brought in at loan pacy left back Nuno Mendes from Sporting. In attack, I won't say anything everyone knows what they have in there. They are right now the prefect team ready to get in some trophies.

You forgot Leicester, West Ham in title race.

these two teams at the maximum can be able to stay in position 6, 7 or 8 if they have excellent performance

If we considered (in random order) that Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham as the teams that will take the first 5 places, well you are right. It seems that all the other teams will fight to be in the 6th to 9th position and it would be a hell of a fight! Cool

Well its not for sure though. If any those teams in first 5 places as you predicted keeps on dropping points back to back in middle then it would give others a chance to overtake them on table for those teams in 6 to 9 places. Its a different scenario but its not out of book so consider that scenario as well. There's one name that I forgot to add which is Aston Villa, they have also made some notable signings so fair to say keep an eye on them as well.
