2221  Economy / Economics / Re: Is some certain lifestyle a waste of money and time ? on: March 29, 2023, 03:01:47 PM
This is considered a huge waste of money in many people's eyes cause most people don't earn much. Although I don't drink, occasionally I will treat them and pay the bills for the guesture of friendliness. Do you think my friends' lifestyle is a waste of money and time?
It depends on what stage of the life they are. If they already have a career, their own houses, consolidated family, solid income I think it's not a waste, because they have struggled building every steps upside to be where they are now, so they deserve to enjoy life the best they can. If they think to drink and eat out are decent rewards for what they have achieved so far, let them do this without guilt.

Everyone needs some relief from times to times, and such lifestyles are the answer for many to not fall in boredom and sadness. We can't judge them for this kind of behavior.
I think it depends on what you want out of life as well. Like I know a friend who has millions of dollars, and the only thing he likes to do is read novels. And my god those are some horrible novels as well, no idea why he does that, not like he read Russian classics or the most read books of all time, some of them sure but not all, and yet he reads some horrible lesser known fantasy novels.

Imagine being so rich that you could live without working until you die, and then your child and your grandchild could live without working, and yet the only thing you ever want to do in your life is reading novels, that's it. He will never be out of money ever, but he won't live a rich life neither, yet he will live the life he wants to live.
Wow, that is really strange. Someone living with so much money under their disposal could be more creative when deciding what to do with the time they have. Instead of living the stories of the novels on his imagination, he could be living real experiences on the real world.

That is actually the ironical part, because many people find themselves on the opposite situation: that is, they would like to live for real, but since they can't due to not having enough funds, their only comfort is to imagine how it should be through the lines of the novels and fictional stories.

2223  Local / Brasil / Re: Quero vender Bitcoin P2P on: March 28, 2023, 05:48:35 PM
Falei com o suporte e apenas me enrolaram.

2224  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dare to take such gamble? on: March 28, 2023, 05:25:22 PM
This has come to my attention, I think this guy actually tweets like this hoping to seek public attention.  I find it completely absurd that Bitcoin went from this price to one million dollars in just 90 days. This guy had made predictions and bets like this before and it was completely wrong.  However, I am not saying that the price of Bitcoin will not reach one million dollars, but that time may not have come yet and it may take a long time to see it.
Yes, the man is looking for attention on his social media profile. Of course he isn't going to make an official agreement with anyone to place a bet like this, because it's nearly impossible bitcoin is going to cross the 1$ million dollars barrier on the next 90 days and he wouldn't dare to risk such amount of money.

The tactic of saying something absurd to get views on the internet is popular and widely used by a plethora of social influencers right now. By doing this, his profile is actived by the platform's algorithm more often, displaying him to potential followers. It's a smart marketing strategy, especially inside the niche of finances, since there are lots of users on these platforms looking for advices regard investments.
2225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything is cyclical and repetitive. Bitcoin is no exception on: March 28, 2023, 04:50:50 PM
That is what in sciences people call determinism. Past events decide the present and the future. Everything follows a determined logic of continuous facts which trigger the following one endlessly.

Bringing this concept to bitcoin, we can mention the halving phenomenon, which happens every four years and push the currency's price to extremely high ATH levels each new time, guaranting to BTC a constant cycle of prosperity and allowing investors to profit from their initial investments on long term.

That is what history shows us and that is what we expect to continue happening next year, 2024, a very special halving year.
2226  Local / Brasil / Quero vender Bitcoin P2P on: March 28, 2023, 03:54:36 PM

Quantia pequena: 0.00426376BTC.
2227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: March 27, 2023, 06:46:35 PM
If FIFA can be able to manage the tournament in every two years it is possible for the tournament to take place in every two years. FIFA makes decision based only if it will favour them to handle.  I think this time the number of teams that will be participating in the tournament increased because it is something that can be managed.
I believe it's not possible to handle the tournament every two years for FIFA, because it demands a lot of preparations. Furthermore, the scenario on soccer industry doesn't change a lot in 2 years, meaning it's very likely the results and performances will be very similar from the last edition.

Also, that is why there are so many different tournaments such Olympic games, Pan American games, internal championships on each countries... So the public doesn't get bored by a single event becoming repetitive.
2228  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the reason for the increase in the price of Bitcoin? on: March 27, 2023, 05:14:51 PM
It is very difficult to know exactly what factors make the increase in the price of bitcoin. The rise and fall of bitcoin prices is influenced by many factors. Therefore, there is no one specific reason for the increase in the bitcoin price.
Bitcoin started an upward trend when the US Silicon Valley Bank was rumored that going to bankrupt. After spreading the news of Silicon Valley Bank bankruptcy Bitcoin suddenly showed a glimpse of a major bullish trend when negative comments came about other banks as well. Bitcoin stopped at $19000 to $28000. But at present this situation prevails. Moreover, since the results of the Fed have been positive, the crypto market is also in a good position till today.
Yes, this is the most likely reason for the recent bullish bitcoin's tendency, added to some whales who saw this as an opportunity to grow their holdings in a decisive moment for bitcoin market. Today MicroStrategy company, which is a whale, announced they are going to buy more 6.455 BTC for 150$ million dollars. That is just an example of how whales behave in such bullish markets and besides MicroStrategy there must be more of them.

On the other hand it means bitcoin gets more centralized on the hands of few investors, what isn't good for the long term sustainability of the currency's price.
2229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is my confidante on: March 27, 2023, 04:31:48 PM
It seems it was thanks to bitcoin that you were able to start your fish farm business, which will proportionate you an extra source of income for your family, that can be used to raise your life standards and to invest money in bitcoin for more earnings yet. If you are able to feed this cycle of prosperity continuously, you can still reach much ahead in your financial life yet. Good luck with your new business! That you may grow it a lot futurely!
2230  Economy / Economics / Re: Where do we go from here on: March 27, 2023, 03:50:50 PM
If these individuals are concerned about AI and their destruction potential, why are they the main sponsors and enthusiasts of AI technology in the world? I believe they just fear something they can't control, and that is why they try to keep it under their control by developing it. However, as long as AI is controlled by them, it won't be an issue.

Where do we go from here?
We will continue on the same path we have been. Technology gets more advanced, AI becomes more popular and present in our daily life on different sectors of society, their developers get wealthy and influent, nothing really changes regards status for the average citizen.

Although technolgy advances, the structure of society remains the same.
2231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Circulating supply matters to you? on: March 26, 2023, 09:21:05 PM
I think the general circulation greatly affects the future price of the token in the project.Personally, a large number of tokens scares me off.For me it does not look promising more like the developers are trying to attract as many new users as possible due to the cheap price.
Supply is one of the most important aspects when choosing a token to invest. A high supply will make this token unlikely to achieve adoption (as other investors will not show interest for it) and superior price levels, due to the continuous set of tokens being put for sale on the market. The same is valid when there are high interest rates being offered over the token.

However, there is a powerful mechanism that must be noticed, which can potentially make a high circulating supply still worthful, that is the burning thing. If the burning rates (number of tokens which are destroyed from times to times, consequently decreasing supply) are decent, it's possible this token is still a good idea on long term.

Analyze each case separately. Identify every features presented to reach the best conclusion for yourself.
2232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Fiat and Banks? Can Bitcoin solve the problem? on: March 26, 2023, 08:55:40 PM
Bitcoin could solve all of this. Counterfeiting could be avoided at all cost with this, and bitcoin having limited supply makes it impossible to create more, as they are able to do with fiat currency. Other aspect of Bitcoin is already known to people, so I don't want to talk about those now. All I want to know is, how good is it in terms of preventing these crises.

What is your view on this?
Bitcoin in self-custody can prevent this, but not when you are dealing with third party platforms, as the same method used by traditional banks can used, as we have seen with the scams involving Celsius and FTX. So solely using bitcoin as currency isn't enough. The P2P feature must be also applied in order to prevent you from having your money scammed.

On the other hand, the fact banks make profit this way and pay interest to their customers isn't a bad thing at all. The problem is when this practice isn't well executed for real. That is, when it's done irresponsibly by the banks and financial institutions, like on the examples mentioned above regard crypto universe.

When well executed, it's a very profitable kind of business for every parts involved.
2233  Economy / Economics / Re: Its not human vs machine its human vs human on: March 26, 2023, 08:28:07 PM
I totally agree with you when you say new jobs will be created, so we don't need to worry AIs are replacing human activity on several fields of society. That is part of progress and we should be happy for that, as with technological development we have access to more resources and comfort in our lives. I believed humans had learned since a long ago machines aren't here to compete against us, but to serve us, however I see I was wrong, because there is still a popular point of view in our days claiming machines (AIs) are against us, prejudicing us in our working fields.
2234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chasing looses Vs Finding closure: Any difference? on: March 26, 2023, 06:13:37 PM
I really need a clarification on this. Is chasing looses in gambling same as looking for closure because i recently read an article on reddit where the poster said that he will gamble untill he wins just to look for closure. I have been thinking about this for sometime now because closure has the same characteristics with chasing looses which is even when the gambler is loosing he will still be gambling just to recover all his looses.

Source:
https://www.reddit.com/r/gambling/comments/120jc8a/should_i_gamble_until_i_win_so_that_i_can_have_a/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=3&utm_content=share_button
Yes, chasing losses is the same as looking for closure, because by seeking for a positive closure means he isn't going to stop playing until he makes profit from his gambling session. That is exactly what gamblers chasing losses do. However, instead of finishing the session in profit, they end losing the entire funds, going busted, as this kind of approach doesn't work effectively on most times.

So don't get distracted by terms like closure. After all they are so dangerous and impracticable as chasing losses.

I hope this is clear to you now.
2235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when new altcoins encourage religious, political and other agendas? on: March 26, 2023, 02:57:57 PM
I stumbled upon this thread on Twitter talking about the emergence of islamiccoin. In the history of altcoins, I wonder who would try to create a religious coin and with what motive?
Speculators trying to create a hype around a niche of society, which can proportionate them a loyal base for profit reasons.

What happens when other religions and political offices and even other sections of power launch their own coins?
In crypto universe it has never worked for real. There were and there are several attempts, but none of them are able to get enough support to become considerably influent and popular.

I know most already exist, is this move more to empower followers of such beliefs with a future proof and profitable financial instrument and should be encouraged or will this cause an even further divide with evolutionary complications?
I believe there aren't strong principles, morals and goals behind such projects. It's simply a marketing strategy by developers to make profit for themselves. The world is already divided, anyway. It's not a cryptocurrency which is going to make this division worse.
2236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does your country tax your gambling winnings? on: March 26, 2023, 01:07:15 PM
There is a regulation in development right now in my country which will force gamblers to pay 30% of their winnings as taxes to the government, that is the same percentage of taxes someone who plays and win at the federal lottery also has to pay. Now they are increasing the range of effect of this law to online gambling as well.

In my opinion that is a very expensive tax, considering most gamblers won't be able to win on long run, and the few who will be able to do this, will have to give up 1/3 of their prize to the government, which didn't take any risks to grab that sum of money, while the gambler took all the risk by himself.
2237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem you think AI can fix in gambling on: March 25, 2023, 08:17:10 PM

Answer phone calls, if possible.  AI checking KYC also why not?

Automating stuff in the casinos is what AI can fix. They already have bots to use for chatting and auto respond emails but it's self-evident for its replies, unlike the ChatGPT. If the casino can deploy an AI, it will still be helpful maybe a fraud investigation that will take days for the result can only be done in minutes.
To improve support is a good usage for AIs in gambling platforms. Personally I think the automatic support from businesses and companies in general are pretty lame yet. Instead of solving the issue presented by the customer they make things more complicated, waste time, while annoying the person on the other side of the communication considerably. After all you always have to ask the bot or AI to put a real attendant on the chat to have the problem solved.

Maybe with the upgrade of AI support through the most recent technologies the services can become more efficient for the customers, what is also good for the casino, since they will solve issues faster with less human employees needed for that purpose.
2238  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of work and education on: March 25, 2023, 08:03:35 PM
There is going to be a technological revolution ahead that will impact jobs' industry a lot, just like it happened on the industrial revolution, which many criticize for replacing human labor by automatic machines, consequently destroying jobs spots and firing many employees.

However, that is something inevitable in this world. There are similar critics nowadays regards AI and technology in general, but again, that is something that will happen anyway, many jobs will be replaced by AI (especially at exact sciences fields) and nobody can stop that from happening.

That means human society will have to be creative to develop and launch new jobs opportunities and maybe new educational areas to allocate professionals who will lose demand on the market due to the technological advancement.
2239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future is looking good for P2e games on: March 25, 2023, 05:15:08 PM
At the currently moment I don't see any evidences that could lead me to believe the future is looking good for P2E games industry. Of course in the future this niche of crypto market can shine, but it seems there isn't anything revolutionary being developed right now on this sense.

It may be due to the bearish market or it can be due to a lack of interest from big studios and alternative developers, since they can already profit a lot of money from in-game sales exclusively, so they see no reason to launch P2P games and the few who do, don't put a lot of effort on the games' projects to keep them sustainable on long term.
2240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin loan for students in higher institution. on: March 25, 2023, 03:39:26 PM
There are various institutions that are better suited to offer student loans. Using bitcoins for a long term loan is prone to volatility, the amount that had been used may be extremely different than what the future prices might be. The nature of most lending that occurs here is based on a cryptocurrency collateral or trust with an account, a real-life identity seldom or never being used.

In another hand, an institution wherever OP resides could offer flexible options and suitable for a loan. What OP should have done is research any plan for its own country, merely expecting a bitcoin forum to offer such services is silly.
True. The university or the local government are more likely to lend money to the student or to offer him the option of paying in installments with really cheap interest rates or none at all, with the exception of the inflation adjustment which is done yearly.

It doesn't worth to borrow money in BTC on this forum for educational purposes. First, because he will need a decent collateral which has to be interesting for the virtual lender (very scarce options) and second because the interest rates will be much more expensive.
