2221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wales what it is / who are they? on: March 24, 2020, 11:43:57 PM
There's no point speculating who the Bitcoin whales are, the demographic changes all the time.

You can just assume that the vast majority of mega whales (e.g. those with over 10 million USD worth of Bitcoin) are either hedge fund, exchange wallets or other institutional investors.

There are unlikely to be many single, direct owners with more than 10 million worth of Bitcoin, unless they're some seriously strong hands.

Anybody holding more than 500 BTC in December 2017 would have been seriously tempted to sell out, since that would have made them a millionaire. So unless they were already extremely well-heeled before this point, the temptation likely shook out most of the high net worth individual holders.
2222  Economy / Services / Re: King of Contents 15% discount best articles $2.5/500 words on: March 24, 2020, 11:28:17 PM
I can only imagine the quality that people will receive when paying $2.5 for 500 words.

The typical going rate for a good writer is a bare minimum of $25/500 words or usually more like $100/500 words.

Still, if you're in a third world country, then it might not be so bad.

I'd echo the above user, you should really provide some examples of your work here rather than wasting people's time.
2223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What old coins are you still holding? on: March 24, 2020, 09:49:26 PM
I'm still holding NEO, bought in at around $150 in 2017 and still holding to this day. Mega rekt.

I also bought small amounts of a variety of other cryptocurrencies in 2017, many of which I am also still holding.

Including XRP, Bitcoin Cash and Dash—as you might expect, I'm in a net loss for all of these.

I have resigned myself to a total loss, I'll hope they go huge at some point at which point I'll be glad to recoup my money, if not, oh well.
2224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction? on: March 24, 2020, 09:05:12 PM
I think it will definitely help some gambling addicts—particularly the ones that don't have knowledge of computers to migrate to online gambling.

Just like the way that clubs, bars and pubs will likely be a benefit to alcoholics.

However, it really depends on how the lockdown goes on for. I expect that most obsessive or problem gamblers can deal with around 1-3 weeks of downtime without truly recovering.

If they're forced to go more than a couple of months though, I think it will basically forcefully break their addiction by making them go cold turkey.
2225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mean Dollar Invested Age on: March 24, 2020, 07:52:06 PM
So if I'm reading this right, the chart basically displays the average amount of USD invested in BTC at different timeframes.

It's interesting to see that at the absolute peak of its rise in 2017, the average dollar amount invested reached a low point, and yet this has gradually increased throughout what most people would describe as a bear market.

I wonder if this simply represents all the retail investors putting in whatever they can during 2017, whereas nowadays people are going all in since it's at a low point (in terms of value).

Nice metric though. Where did you get the chart?
2226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19: Avoid casino, play online on: March 24, 2020, 06:35:53 PM
Might as well close this thread now.

Practically every major country, including the US, UK, India and most asian countries now enforce a mandatory lockdown and will disperse crowds.

As far as I'm aware, most major countries have also closed non-essential businesses where people can end up congregating—this includes casinos.

Hopefully this is the final straw in the death of brick and mortar casinos.
2227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I realise Coronavirus is not a reason why on: March 23, 2020, 11:16:50 PM
So you're saying the coronavirus is not the reason why Bitcoin crashed, when Bitcoin experienced the single worst sell-off in the last half a decade just hours after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Covid19 situation a global pandemic?

Yea, maybe you should stop giving advice on macroeconomics, because you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Every market tanked on the news, including Bitcoin and all other cryptos.
2228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Alvarez vs. Golovkin: The Trilogy we've all been waiting for! on: March 23, 2020, 09:54:17 PM
IMO, the only way Gennady Golovkin can defeat Caneolo Alvarez is through knockout. The jury is extremely biased, and they will never allow an UD against Alvarez. This has happened two times before. GGG won both the fights, but the biased judges refused to acknowledge that. My prediction is that this time GGG will knock out Alvarez, to avenge the humiliation he had last time. My only concern is his age.

Both fights could have went either way, they were extremely close to be honest.

However, if you look back at the interviews surrounding the second fight (after the first draw), both fighters said they got robbed by getting a draw.

Both fighters also promised a knockout in the second fight in order to take the decision away from the judges, but we all know the second fight ended with a decision.

Third fight will probably go exactly the same way, both fighters will promise a KO, GGG will lose by a narrow decision once again.
2229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here succeeded a friend to play online gambling now that casino are close on: March 20, 2020, 11:26:43 PM
Now is a good opportunity to start spreading those referral links.

No doubt all the offline gamblers are now looking into online alternatives, and offline platforms are probably already hard at work building their own online portals.

A huge number of gamblers like to play on a regular basis, and many probably wont be able to function properly without getting at least a few games in per week.

Definitely a great time to see if your platform of choice is running an affiliate or referral campaign.

I know crypto-games.net does, so I'll be seizing this opportunity.
2230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antifragile Bitcoin Was Born To Thrive In An Economic Crisis on: March 20, 2020, 09:22:44 PM
Wouldn't say it is completely uncorrelated....

Did you not see Bitcoin crash by almost 50% after the traditional economy took a tumble? That speaks volumes to what might happen to Bitcoin during a wartime or truly global panic.

Sure, it might technically survive, but I think it's too early to say that Bitcoin would thrive during times of economic crisis, after all, it still has its value pegged to the USD, not the other way around.

Until BTC has its own independent value, it isn't ready for this sort of test.
2231  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto-Games.net ⭐ 0.8% House Edge on Dice ⭐Largest Wagering contest...ever ⭐ on: March 20, 2020, 07:29:02 PM
Another day of juicy wins on the higher roller leaderboard;

Pretty sure that RoadCrypto is a member on this forum? Congrats on winning 100k Doge with just a 3k bet!

Looks like most of the higher rollers go for the high bet, high win chance strategy, but some are brave enough to go for gold.
2232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: March 20, 2020, 05:20:59 PM

~16,000 tickets generated more than 16.9 million? That's more than $1,000 per ticket?

That's crazy.

But even still, 16.9 million isn't even enough to pay for the pure of the main card fighters, so they must make the majority of their revenue from stream purchases.

I think they're going to need to double the cost of the PPV if they're going to keep running these fights, even if behind closed doors.

Not unrealistic considering Mayweather has charged $75 for a PPV before.

2234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Alvarez vs. Golovkin: The Trilogy we've all been waiting for! on: March 20, 2020, 01:57:21 PM
Wtf?

Didn't Golden Boy just agree a deal for Canelo to fight Billy Joe Saunders? Or was that scrapped for some reason?

I am not interested in seeing a trilogy fight with GGG and Canelo, GGG is past his prime now and Canelo is probably about to peak—not a fair fight by any measure.

Golovkin only beat Sergiy Derevyanchenko by decision in a not so great performance, when a younger version of himself would have stopped him COLD.

NOT INTERESTED IN THE DAMN TRILOGY.

Not saying it wont be an interesting fight, GGG certainly won't get destroyed. But I expect a UD for Canelo in this one, though GGG still has a 30-40% chance of winning.
2235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you stop gambling in a time of crisis? on: March 20, 2020, 12:05:16 AM
Well I pretty much exclusively play poker at brick and mortar casinos, so I will certainly be completely stopping that.

That said, I won't be stopping entirely.

I will use this time to finally find out which HUD is the best, and will probably start taking up online Poker.

I've always avoided it since I've heard about the rampant cheating, but I guess it's time to give it a go.
2236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMetro Exchange - 2 QNT on Signup on: March 19, 2020, 10:05:45 PM
Looks like 2 QNT is currently worth around $4.50, not bad for a couple of minutes work.

However, your post is actually misleading, customers don't simply get 2 QNT for signing up. They first need to deposit 100 EUR onto the exchange.

That pretty much means you need to trust this trash exchange with your bank information.... STRONG PASS.
2237  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LightningBattle.com Play Games of Skill for Bitcoin (Lightning enabled) on: March 19, 2020, 09:28:41 PM

(1) Four-in-a-row (Basically connect 4)

Love the fact that you're bringing out skill-based games, we definitely need more of these as far as I'm concerned.

However, I think this four-in-a-row game is just asking to get botted. There are AI tools available online that will automatically solve for the best possible combination given the current state of the board.

I really think you're going to need to make games that people absolutely cannot cheat on, otherwise the losers will not be happy.
2238  Other / Off-topic / Re: Top Matches in sports you want to watch again and again on: March 19, 2020, 08:45:12 PM
I have been known to rewatch some of the old classic boxing matches, e.g. Ali vs Frazier, Pacquiao vs Mayweather and Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas.

I'll drop some of my favorites below (in no particular order);

Also, watching AJ get whomped by Ruiz is one of my favs (even though I like AJ).

2239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why there are so many people who get addicted on gambling? on: March 19, 2020, 07:24:58 PM
Gambling and addiction are all about the release of endorphins and dopamine in the brain.

The body tends to get addicted to anything that can effectively stimulate the release of either of these types of hormones, and gambling is one of them.

Not all people are susceptible to getting addicted, so it's definitely more of a gamble whether or not you're likely to even get addicted to gambling.

With that said, I still think gambling is one of the less addictive pastimes, certainly less so than video gaming.
2240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which crypto pair do you swap most often? on: March 19, 2020, 04:41:45 PM
I would say the relationship between number of trade pairs and total trading volume is the best indicator of how good an exchange is.

For example, assuming two exchanges achieve equal trading volume, I would rather trade at the platform with the fewer trading pairs.

This is because a large number of trading pairs usually means that there are at least some illiquid trading pairs on the platform. Likewise, it also means that they are less selective with the crypto assets they list, which can eventually cause issues when shit hits the fan.

Few, but high quality trading pairs is ideal.
