2241  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: People massively fleeing /r/bitcoin to /r/btc on reddit on: November 09, 2015, 01:47:05 PM
Number of subscribers as increased a lot in the last few days, it would be very awkward if we don't have a place to freely discuss a censorship resistant technology. Smiley
2242  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: what will happen in 37 weeks when bitcoin halves again on: November 09, 2015, 11:20:50 AM
The same thing that happened last halving, nothing special, business as usual...
2243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto and the Nobel Memorial Prize on: November 09, 2015, 10:46:21 AM
It's notable, but he/she/they have no chance of winning because it is still new. Whether or not Bitcoin has actually changed anything has yet to be seen.
Well, Barack Obama got his Nobel Prize BEFORE he actually do anything, right after he became president.
If Nobel Committee can award someone like Obama (without any reason whatsoever) then Satoshi is far more suitable to receive Nobel Prize imo.

That's a good point, although Obama's Nobel was an incentive to do a better job for world peace than it's predecessors, he failed miserably, Satoshi already done something that can have a big impact in economy, now we need to wait if this potential will translate in real positive change for the world economy.
2244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: miners and full-node - the real numbers... on: November 09, 2015, 09:42:53 AM
Chinese mining farms probably do hold the majority of mining power.

These are very bad news. Should I explain why?
Yes, please do. What makes that bad?

Uncertainty! The majority of the mining power should not come from one single country/region of the world --> China, for this matter. Mining-Costs are too high for the vast majority of supportes.
If one day the Communist Party/their Central Bank feel threaten by Bitcoin,  they can ban and/or crack-down their local Chinese mining-farms anytime. This is true for many other countries as well. This leads me to think that the whole bitcoin eco-system is way too fragile. The numbers are too low (too few mining farms, which cost a lot of money, too few full-nodes, too few users... too few of everything... etc).

The blockchain technology is here to say but the token's future is very much uncertain.

If that ever happens people will just move their mines to other countries, the reason the majority is located in China is because of cheap energy.

2246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to stand up to the XT shills here! on: November 07, 2015, 07:21:14 PM
The "corporate takeover" already happen, Blocktream is now the owner of bitcoin development and they're pushing their agenda, maybe you should be worried about that...
2247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimond is talking too much shit! on: November 06, 2015, 10:33:42 AM
He has nothing to fear, he probably has more money than he can spend in his entire life.

He comes from an industry that has to comply with lots of regulation and seeing the Bitcoin network operating in similar markets as banks without all that compliance burden is pretty much unbelievable that it will stay like that if/-when it gets a considerable percentage of that market.

You can see a parallel with Uber. Uber operates in a market that in most countries has to comply with lots of regulation and they enter the market without that burden, consequence of this is it being banned in a few countries/cities and encountering difficulties everywhere.

Can you share the address or addresses with the bitcoin you're trying to send?
2250  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info Wallet - Can not send BTC on: November 05, 2015, 10:15:17 PM
Did you enable email backups?

If so you can use that to restore your wallet.

Or do as described above.

2253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Psychopaths trying to control Bitcoin! on: November 05, 2015, 05:13:44 PM
So it would be better if they have forked without noticed? Are you being serious?

Seriously - we are sick of the threat of forks - please "fork" and just see how you lose already!

(like typical bullies you think that these threats are going to intimidate us - but now you are learning that your threats are hollow)

WTF are you talking about?

BIP 101 is good only if 75% network adopts, as far as I now, that's a majority...
2254  Local / Portugal / Re: Vendo bitcoin por MBWAY! A funcionar! on: November 05, 2015, 04:57:12 PM

2255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Psychopaths trying to control Bitcoin! on: November 05, 2015, 03:50:30 PM
Apart from babbling about the necessity of BIP 101, what they can do against the will of the majority? If they can't persuade the miners they can keep talking what they want and as much they want but that's not going to move their case anywhere.

And why should only one company be deciding bitcoin development, every player in the business should have an input.

Coinbase business is injured because all of these delays in transaction confirmation, and this is happening because Blockstream hijacked bitcoin development and are now creating a necessity for their business by not increasing block size.

And you're right there's very little they can do, íf a company wants to have anything to say about the bitcoin development it has to buy all the developers, touché Blockstream.
2256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Psychopaths trying to control Bitcoin! on: November 05, 2015, 03:34:51 PM
Isn't there already a CEO in charge of bitcoin, the Blockstream CEO?

How dare another CEO wanting to control bitcoin?!
2257  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: No Payout 3 weeks on: November 05, 2015, 03:15:01 PM
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
2258  Local / Portugal / Re: Vendo bitcoin por MBWAY! A funcionar! on: November 05, 2015, 03:12:19 PM
