Bitcoin is a payment system that has the potential to rival the current currency system which we the people have zero control over. Here's a bonus poem for ya Bitcoin, the fruit of Sathoshi's loin Uniting all people, giving power to none Some say it is bad, some say it's a fad But to those in the know, it's really quite rad Slowly it will rise, bringing truth to the lies The truth lies in the eyes of many But sleeps in hearts of few The time it is coming not a thing we can do Just embrace it and smile and be glad that you're you.

There are a lot of bitcoin debit cards around currently and to be up there and competing with them I would suggest making sure that your fees are competitive and not too high.

Yeah I think it is more to do with the local governments perhaps not understanding it fully and not being able to control it, it will happen at some point but for now let them do what they need to

This is a cool idea but I wonder if companies move towards paying their employees in bitcoin what happens to the national insurance and income tax, would the company still pay that separately or would the government then have to start accepting bitcoin in order for these companies to pay their taxes.

Think you should add a choice of "never" in your poll because it will never be obsolete, as long as the internet is alive and kicking bitcoin will be here with us, and the blockchain on it's own merit seems to be picking up more attention and integration into financial institutions so the blockchain will be here for the long term also.

The obvious answer would be that Paypal gives you more options when shopping online as it is globally accepted, bitcoin whilst it has tiny fees and can potentially be accepted everywhere but that time is not quite here yet perhaps in another 5 years or so it will be different but for now Paypal gives you more scope in the real world, not saying that it is better than bitcoin, just in this current climate Paypal is the daddy of the online payments right now.

In the aftermath of the Paris attack on November 13, the European Union (EU) is looking to crack down on bitcoin with the hope of preventing the financing of future attacks. Regulators and advocacy groups agree, though, that kneejerk regulation is not what is needed; rather, it’s an increase in education. “There’s nothing wrong with Bitcoin, it just means it’s another part of our financial system,” said Dana Syracuse, managing director and a member in the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Regulatory Compliance Practice at K2 Intelligence. “As time goes on, Bitcoin’s place is going to grow," Syracuse said. "One of the things that I talk about is, if you look at the story of bitcoin and the kind of enforcement and prosecutorial action, it shows the evolution and growth of the space.” “Bitcoin is not the problem, and further restrictions on it are not the solution. Criminals and terrorists are using all sorts of technology to try to hide their activities over the Internet, but those who turn to bitcoin as part of that effort are making a big mistake,” said Jason Weinstein, director of the Blockchain Alliance. Regulation is not the problem; it is educationRead full: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/law-enforcement-and-regulators-agree-bitcoin-not-useful-for-terrorists-already-regulated-appropriately-1448316076Nice to see someone in a good powerful situation with some influence speaking some sense and acknowledging that no matter what happens bitcoin looks like it will be around for the foreseeable future and it needs to be embraced now rather than later.

I would advice you to not invest your precious Bitcoins in any altcoin as investing in altcoins equals to gambling. It's simply not a good idea.
If you want to start trading Bitoin, join an exchange as Bitstamp, Bitfinex, Kraken and BTC-E if you want to start trading without verification of yourself. Start with buying low and selling high. That's how we all started. It's easy and the least risky form of investing. You will need some patience though. If you have gained a bit more experience you can try day trading with a small amount to start with, if the volumes are high enough.
I agree with the altcoin statement, it is a mine field and you can lose everything in an instant it is I would say the worst form of gambling and there is a lot of manipulation going on.

I printed out the private key and passed to my aunt and partner in Malaysia and then deleted
Pray they don't lose that key, or NOBODY will ever be able to spend the coins. Better yet, split the keys in 3 parts and store every part on a seperate location. It's safer then to count on a relative this way. Don't forget will she still give you the key if BTC is worth: 4000/USD? Hopefully they realize that piece of paper is worth REAL money and won't throw it away later thinking its trash when they forget what a bitcoin is. I would handle your own keys and keep your cold storage somewhere safe, is it that hard to control yourself from spending them :/ You are a brave person giving control of your keys over to someone else, especially family as I know my family with bits of paper it would at some point get thrown out, suppose it depends on how much BTC you're talking about but either way I would like to keep the keys close.

I gave this a shot yesterday as I saw it in another thread, a really cool idea and I know it is in Beta phase so there are bugs but for me it was really laggy so i gave up for now. At some point incorporating this into a mobile app would see it reach a huge audience if that is something that is possible.

Welcome Citabria,
You will find this forum an interesting place and you will learn a lot I know I have over the last couple of years. If you find yourself having any questions which you can't find the answers to via the search function feel free to just ask and you will get a response in no time.

With all the recent negativity and potential investigations I think it would be best if you waited a while until the dust settles before using them again, you will find other exchanges just as good if not better.

I am not sure the author is correct in that no banks are getting behind the other payment systems, I have seen Apple pay receiving a lot of media support from the like of Lloyds in some tv advertising, I assume the author means financial backing?
Bitcoin is easily the best method but trying to get people to see that seems to be proving a bit of a problem.

I have won a couple of thousand $ but not in bitcoin, it was from 5 numbers in the lottery. In bitcoin terms have lost more than I won and only ever won maybe just under 1 bitcoin.

I recently found this site: https://cldmine.comThey offer 1500 Doge to lure you to start mining. Does anyone have experience with these guys? please leave your comments. cloud mining = ponzi scam so yes its a another scam site, better users stay away from such site there is nothing like real cloudmining exists Ok! many people got burned with cloud mining. But that doesn't mean that all cloud mining sites are a scam. Like every investment, it implies a lot of Risk. If you take a look at Bitmain's cloud mining site Hashnest, you will see that they are a trusted company. You are right, not all cloud mining companies are a scam it is a shame that the legit ones have been tarnished with the same brush as the scam companies. Those looking for cloud mining should do their research to find out if the company is legit and whether other people have positive feedback on them which is what you are doing.

I was looking at the Raspberry Pi a while ago thinking that it would be pretty cool if there was a way you could just plug it in anywhere for example at work whilst you work away it could just power off the USB and mine away.
Is this something that is achievable with the Pi2? I have limited experience with the Pi but would definitely be interested if you can plug it in and then have it feed off your phone as a wifi hotspot which would allow mining on the go.

$1,000 before 2016 now there is a big increase, I would guess more $500 if it were to be rising anywhere significant but $1,000 is a bit too optimistic me thinks.

I don't know my address. I tend to use a few different ones and there is no reason to really memorise your address when you can just copy amd paste it, we have moved so far from the days when you had to remember things

Loving it, this was one of my favourite games back in the day I will definitely have a go at this and hopefully as the developer says there will be more simple games to come.
