do a tracert to the pool; see what happens. Maybe someone in the middle is faulty....
I can rarely play my favorite game because of a fault with a Level3 node they wont replace. crazy packet loss through a node like 6 hops down.

sgminer.exe -k decred -o stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:5744 -u 1Nzb6ASY9PhnfECjtcw88hs2R75LkbsYvo -p c=BTC,d=8,decred -I 25,10
Same issue I have 6 miners been running for weeks now they fail to connect, thanks for trying to help No prob. If you are running a lot of GH/sec on decred; try upping the diff a little; see if it wants to stay connected at that point. I havent had any issues the past few days at all; only a few SHA256 disconnects.

All my mining equipment is disconnected and failing to reconnect, whats going on?
Please check the details from the list below of the servers you have input Most likely you have input the wrong URL, forgotten to add a port, or have not set up workers Pool: 0 URL: stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:5744 User: 1Nzb6ASY9PhnfECjtcw88hs2R75LkbsYvo Password: c=BTC,d=8
you are missing the algo in your password field..... c=BTC,d=8,decred

i have a msi gtx 960 4gb and i dont know what kind of Algoritm mine, can tell me ? another thing, what program would recommend me to use and how configure it?
you can do decent DCR mining right here on zpool with that card. I suggest DCR to start; but look at the code I have inserted below. you can use this to taylor it to your needs for the versions of the mining apps you have: Notice I downloaded different versions of ccminer for each algo that works best... :start ccminer50.exe -r 0 -a x13 -i 17.5 -o stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:3633 -u 1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP -p c=BTC,d=0.004,x11=8.2,x13=6.8,qubit=12.5,x15=5.6,lyra2v2=9.6,neoscrypt=0.5,decred=1.7 ccminer_.exe -r 0 -a x11 -i 17.5 -o stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:3533 -u 1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP -p c=BTC,d=0.001,x11=8.2,x13=6.8,qubit=12.5,x15=5.6,lyra2v2=9.6,neoscrypt=0.5,decred=1.7 ccminer.exe -r 0 -a qubit -i 17.2 -o stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:4733 -u 1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP -p c=BTC,d=0.004,x11=8.2,x13=6.8,qubit=12.5,x15=5.6,lyra2v2=9.6,neoscrypt=0.5,decred=1.7 ccminer.exe -r 0 -a x15 -i 17.5 -o stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:3733 -u 1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP -p c=BTC,d=0.001,x11=8.2,x13=6.8,qubit=12.5,x15=5.6,lyra2v2=9.6,neoscrypt=0.5,decred=1.7 ccminer.exe -r 0 -a lyra2v2 -i 17.2 -o stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:4533 -u 1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP -p c=BTC,d=1,x11=8.2,x13=6.8,qubit=12.5,x15=5.6,lyra2v2=9.6,neoscrypt=0.5,decred=1.7 ccminerNS.exe -r 0 -a neoscrypt -i 17.5 -o stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:4233 -u 1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP -p c=BTC,d=16,x11=8.2,x13=6.8,qubit=12.5,x15=5.6,lyra2v2=9.6,neoscrypt=0.5,decred=1.7 ccminer-DCD.exe -r 0 -a decred -o stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:5744 -u 1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP -p c=BTC,d=0.5,x11=8.2,x13=6.8,qubit=12.5,x15=5.6,lyra2v2=9.6,neoscrypt=0.5,decred=1.7

whats the best optimal difficulty level for S7 to mine SHA256 in zpool?
currently I have the following:
password = c=BTC,SHA256,d=22000
Put diff as low as ~16000 if you are on a real fast internet connection. If your hashrate reports are kinda all over the place, lower your hashrate towards this. The slower it goes; work down to ~9000 or less depending on how fast the coins and your network is. 16000 should be fine though.

Why does my antminer keep failing?
Just on this pool
Stratum disconnects. Read back through this entire thread. It's all there. Set a failover. Problem solved.... The failover will pick up the slack when needed. My s3's and s7's aren't having much trouble recently.

That's the issue with longer time coins. You have to be in it to win it is what it comes down to.
Sucks; but is ok if you have hardware that excels at decred vs other algos.
I am content staying with decred for this month or more... Curious how profitability will average.

An update for my small mining account; Typically I would see 0.0085-0.010/day in my 24 hour earnings. Since switching to decred only: 0.01311340 So Im content for sure. I will comment that I swapped 1.6Mh of scrypt mining for 420Gh of SHA256; but other than that the profitability is right where I expected it to be. Still very impressed with zpool. As far as SHA256 goes; its been staying just the right size to keep profitability on the higher side when it comes to pool luck. When we get over 100Th; profitability doesn't seem as good. Im having a problem connecting to my btc username with my x11, x15 and scrypt miners. my sgminer for x11 and x15, on both instances, says, waiting for pools and after a while, "no servers could be found to get work from". here is my config for the x11 miner:
{ "pools" : [ { "url" : "stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:3533", "user" : "1N4euqDASdAG5z1QWfv3BtfgNp3z3u6Rfo", "pass" : "c=BTC,x11" } ]
and my conf for the x15 miner:
{ "pools" : [ { "url" : "stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:3733", "user" : "1N4euqDASdAG5z1QWfv3BtfgNp3z3u6Rfo", "pass" : "c=BTC,x15" }, { "url" : "stratum+tcp://x15.eu.nicehash.com:3339", "user" : "14vZ4DHDzhttzKyNAmLzpRq6VLmCGb16vX", "pass" : "password" },
suggested edit off hand in bold. Secondly; if they are both running on the same hardware (algo switching) you need to put c=BTC,x11,X15 respectively.

you guys should consider setting up eth as a payout coin!
crackfoo doesn't want to exchange for coins we don't mine; so the step to trade to eth is probably not going to happen....

just FYI, I'll be away on family vacation down south for the next 1.5 weeks. Responses will be sporadic.
Have fun on vacation!

try a few diff values.
at .5 with my gtx980; I was seeing 800Mh on the pool;
changing to a diff of 1; I now see my ~1.7Gh at the pool.

I think this is going to be the main problem when trying to factor DECRED into a multi algo round-robin.... There's no time sensitive ability to generate blocks like the faster coins I think. But if it could be somehow; This would definitely bump up the multi algo profitability. Seeing .008+ in less than 24 hours generated; is pretty nice. My 1.6Mh of scrypt and ~900Gh of SHA wasn't even on most of that time.... Thanks for getting me on board; I see why DECRED can be very good to have.
|
|
|
its calculating your number based on what the coin will make. so; strange. Mine was locked on decred when it was staying above the other algos consecutively.
|
|
|
yep; assuming all your other algos are on the same type of scheme.
But; I did take lower earnings when it would sit on decred half the day with no block found; that's why i'm happy to participate in the decred pooling
|
|
|
i normalized mine based on profitability scale.
MH values for things like scrypt, and X11 etc... 0.5 9.6, 3.2, etc. things rated in GH like decred; I do 1.5Gh in the miner app; so it has a value of 1.5 also since its rated that way.

|
|
It's a dual SLAED 3.0ghz... Might as well keep the cores working since I have plenty of them. Presently I have my multi algo batch file off and am running strictly decred for this promo period. Hopefully it gets enough on board to be more stable earnings. I normally turn ~8.5-10mbtc/day; but I have already gambled on rentals for the pool, this is one and the same to me ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I've rolled the dice with almost all new algos for at least a day if not a week. Unprofitable ones or ones I can't run on all hardware I simply omit.

Top 10 DCR block finders for the month of April, will be entered to win 1 BTC prize. Paid in the currency and to the address that wins.
Ah this is new - good initiative to mine more DCRs. Any link to find out who is top block finder currently? You can see the list of finder in the pool stats: www.zpool.ca/site/block?id=1309I'll be updating the OP as blocks are found and the finder and how many they've found. 1PHSD ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Glad to contribute ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . I have my box pointed solely at DCR for the next month. One GTX980. Looks like the race is on!!! Lol.

Anyone think repurposing the fan from a push to a pull config would be much of an issue?
With the amount of heat the S7 puts out; I couldnt ever imagine running mine on just one fan. Then again; 50% or less fan speeds are common.....
Maybe that's their way to telling us that we must just deal with the noise it makes....
|
|
|
I was wondering others' thoughts on this new model. At the ever dropping but currently 1.386BTC cost... its a tempting purchase. I understand they are trying to cut costs... but... I think the single fan is a bad idea. I rely on the fans on either side to attach ducting and for it to handle the fact I have ducting to and from the miner on both ends. I think the open outlet is going to be creating an issue for people without passive cooling in the room/space. Presently my 5X7 room I have my S7's in do not get above 78*f on hot days with the miners closed in there.. Having to manufacture a new outlet housing or gut an old fan body to make an appropriate ducting attachment.... is going to be annoying. Any opinions on running the fan solely as a puller fan, and not a pusher (oriented to the miner) ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) ? This would 1/2 solve my issues; because its easier to manage the heat through the exhausting; not as much as it is to duct cold air into the fronts.
