yeah  there are now  six or seven boards.

I have tested this one

and can do 8 1070's with ease.

This may be the best  one for a guy like me:

one 30 amp 240 volt mining line in a garage.

I believe 4 of these can run  on a 240 volt 30 amp line with 32 1070's  at about 4000 watts

pretty much perfect for a garage setup

just 4 rigs.

this comes today  will  start to test it today

22402  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How can I get a power cord for my Avalone 2x741 power supply? on: November 08, 2017, 04:42:52 PM
@Phil: i think 30A pdu should work with 20a outlet. 30A is how much load the PDU could handle, and our outlet only provide maximum of 20A. Correct me if im wrong.

Well  here is the deal.  a 30 amp pdu  can have 24 amp hooked up to it 24/7/365

if you  swap out the plug  it will connect to your 20 amp  circuit  and if you do 3 avalon 741's  you are fine if you load the 4th one you are not fine.

but if you  get this

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Conntek-55705-Power-Strip-250-Volt-7-1-2-Inch-Housing-IEC-C14-Inlet-to-4-IEC-C13/292190479200?

https://www.amazon.com/NEMA-6-20P-C13-Power-Cord/dp/B004WJNVH4/ref=sr_1_3?

you can do 2 avalon 741's

you can use up to 15amps on the setup.  and 2 avalon 741's are about  9-11 amps
with this outlet in your place

22403  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain now wants your social security number to purchase? on: November 08, 2017, 04:37:15 PM
if you use fedex it is an issue try using ups to ship.
22404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 08, 2017, 04:14:46 PM
So I'm trying to get a summary here.. most of these no-riser boards look to be only nVidia happy? No AMD support?

Have no amd cards to test.

maybe citronik has tested a rig with them.
22405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 12x 1080 TI Mining Rig Build (8300 sols) on: November 08, 2017, 03:54:53 PM
Thanks!

I would be all over that PSU if it was higher efficiency, seems PERFECT for this build lol

I have it on order and will be testing it  very soon.  I will run it with  about 1150  watts running 8x 1070's
22406  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Static Pressure and Antminers...? on: November 08, 2017, 03:48:47 PM
'Static pressure' refers to the force (pressure) needed to push air through resistance. Think blowing out air with an open mouth vs blowing the same amount of air through a straw. Takes a lot more effort.

Normal case fans move air through a mostly wide open computer case - easy peasy so can use nice quiet low pressure fans to move a lot of air. Miners are very densely packed with heat sinks and it take a much more powerful fan capable of producing real pressure to move the air and by their nature that means higher speed and LOUD.

Very good analogy...But I still didn't quite get it Embarrassed . Does this mean that the supply side i.e. the cold aisle side should have more air blowing and the exhaust should be less powerful than the supply side?

no  that has zero  to do with it.

the fans need to blow the air force fully

think  of a hose  with water  and no nozzle it may let 100 gallons of water  a minute  but not  forceful like   a pressure washing  cleaning concrete.

in the case of the ant miner  s-7 or s-9  as long as the push is close to the pull there really is not an issue.

even if the push  it say  110% of the pull  by the time the push reaches  the pull  the tight heatsink fins have slowed it so that the push  will not overwhelm the pull.

think  like this   push>>>>110 >>>>>>>tight fins >>>>>>100>>> pull

the tight fins would make it equal

or

push >>>>>>110 >>>>>>>>>no fins>>>>>100>>>>> pull

this would allow the stronger fan  to hurt the weaker fan.

but this simple is not an issue with the s-9

unless

push>>>>>>>250>>>>>>>tight fins>>>>>>100>>>>>pull

this could allow the push to hurt the pull  if you could find a fan that would push that hard.

basically  for  the s-7 or s-9  use the stock fans

if sound is an issue try this series of sound proofing

belongs in alt coins  not here.

it this a riser build?
22408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 08, 2017, 01:27:11 PM
This looks good. Wonder how much it'll cost.

However that integrated cpu is a little weak, I still prefer the version where we can use our own cpu.

My gripe with the board is 6 pin pcie power pass-through;  not 8... It's just two damned important ground pins for some cards..  and the pcie power in ports on the side of the board instead of the opposing side where cable management and getting the machines packed neatly around each other would be waaaay more enjoyable.   I bet the pandaminer users/owners don't like having the power supply plugs out the side like that... but to each their own I guess.

The board above that citronick posted;  I want to try myself sometime soon.  I like the format of it; and just the right amount of space to add more or less cards if desired  =)  But it's cpu capability is key as well.

that 6-pin is very iffy... you need the 8 pin to support at least a 8pin or 6pin GPU.

Also, it looks like you need a CPU 4-pin power from an ATX power source (or is this power sourced from the board it self?)

compared this with the other 9xGPU board I am testing below.... that new Colorful board may not be fully server PSU powered.

that board  seems interesting  how does it work so far?
22409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 08, 2017, 10:44:59 AM
There are about six boards maybe seven.

If you are doing all 1080 ti's  I think  all of them are going to have heat issues of you don't waterblock

If you are doing 1060's  all will work.

If you are a big farm 100 board guy   the colorfull may be best.

@spotswood  that board looks good for a 1060 six pin pcie build

22410  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Static Pressure and Antminers...? on: November 08, 2017, 05:30:46 AM
here is a very clear example

dense radiator for cooling gpus

red fan  is not high static  but moves 100cfm
white fans are high static but moves 70cfm

so red should be best  since  cfm is higher

but it is the worst 58c

I just got my Avalons 741x2. There is an outlet inside my apartment look like the picture below. I usually use it for my AC unit. Can someone advise me where to buy a cord to connect the PSU to the wall to run 2 Avalon.
Please help.

https://www.amazon.com/NEMA-6-20P-C19-Power-Cord/dp/B004WJRAUI/ref=sr_1_2?

these will connect to most psu's

you have a nema 6-20r outlet see wiki

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_60320

your psu  most likely is a   c19 or c20

Phil, i looked at this PDU on ebay, do you think it will work with 20A outlet?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Power-Distribution-Unit-PDU-208V-30A-L6-30P-Input-21xC13-6xC19-Output-10CXM/361638191527?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

That pdu is for a 30 amp circuit you have a 20 amp plug.  Like me look for some links

On the Onda D1800, what is all required to get it to post. I installed a GPU on slot 1, plugged it into monitor, plugged in usb w/ windows 10 on the go, snapped in the memory in the slot and connected the 2 connections for the power supply and im getting nothing....

The PSU turns on, the CPU fan turns on, but i get no signal on the monitor. I am trying to test it with a known good Nvidia Quadro NVS295 i have from all my refurbished dell PC's i bought.

that is the board I burnt.

cit sent me another one but I have yet to play with it.

citronik got it to post but it was tricky.

My status is 10x m12 b250 onda coming on friday

my sample no name colorful knock off coming on thurs.

my onda d1800 is untested.

the m12 onda works great. I have to wait for a better psu to test it and the 2  evga 1070 ti's

Is this  your ideal setup?

Maybe  I think it  will be 1100 watts at the watt doing  4500-4600 sols  I think that psu can do the trick.

I can get them for 165 from alibaba.

I did a lot of work figuring out how to run these. I do not think  8x 1080 ti's will work.

but  I will try some 6 card 1080 ti builds with these boards
22415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 08, 2017, 12:36:02 AM
Just a shout out  these mobos may not be able to run   1080 ti's other then waterblocks

Look at my heat issues  with the air cooled 1070's

the air cooled struggle at 110 watts  the water cooled are fine

22416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 07, 2017, 11:24:47 PM
Because of 11.11 promotion on Ali express, this board can be purchased at 229 USD. If everything goes well with this board I will buy atleast 5 more.

what promotion is that please test it fast so I know if i need to pull the trigger on one
fuck risers lol
Just wait until the 11th of November and loads of stuff will be available to purchase at s discounted price.

here is the 8 card board  with 5 water blocks

Because of 11.11 promotion on Ali express, this board can be purchased at 229 USD. If everything goes well with this board I will buy atleast 5 more.

These boards look nice.
Anybody know if they would work with the 8x 1080ti?

that board costs 229

the board I have been testing is 142

and it works really good with 8x 1070's

I can tell every one  if you are going to try  8 1080 tis you will need a lot  of extra fans.

My guess is the board I am using will work better for 1080 ti's and the color is better for 1070's

maybe only 1060's due to the pci  following.

would like to see it with  to see it with 1080ti's

this psu  may be the game saver  for my board

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Deep-In-The-Mines-2600w-ATX-Power-Supply-180v-240v-ETH-ZEC-mining-S7-S9-12-GPU/401396653730?

I paid about 190 for it.  it will do 8 1080 tis  with power left over.

but I don't think you can mange heat of 8 1080 ti.s

take a look at my 8 1070 s

5 water cooled 3 fan cooled

22418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pentium G4400 100% utilisation with 4 GTX 1070s, what am i doing wrong?? on: November 07, 2017, 07:30:59 PM
Hi

I recently built a mining rig, here are the specs:
Biostar TB250 BTC+ motherboard
Pentium G4400
2x 4GB DDR4 RAM
4 x GTX 1070s
EVGA Supernova 1000G1 PSU

I am using Win 10 home 64 bit without activation. I have installed all drivers and i only get about 70% utilisation of the gpus when i run nicehash whilst cpu utilisation is 100%. So the cpu is obviously not feeding the cards fast enough. I have searched everywhere and most rigs have similar cpu horsepower as mine if not less but do not have this problem. What am i doing wrong?

Please help!!

Maybe its nicehash that is slowing you down?  Try running a normal miner and see. Also double check to see if you set pagefile correctly even though you said you did.

set page file higher  say 32 not 16  and sometimes like the bold line it did not take.

lastly  some win 10 builds are shit  some are better how old is your win 10  build

you should be 17xxxx  not 16xxxx or 15xxxx

22419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 07, 2017, 05:18:08 PM
@philipma, it is very common with sellers on alibaba and aliexpress to provide tracking past deadline, usually they are selling what they don't have and they order it only when they receive payment from the buyer. Aliexpress force sellers to provide tracking before deadline so many of them provide false tracking to avoid order cancellation and provide the correct one couple of days later.

well the girl seller  has been better  with speed and tracking

for the sample mobo and the ten piece mobo

allen has not been very good with the 1 piece sample

I was voting i posted a few back with secondary account. and got a note from dhl on my phone trying to figure if it is from alibaba for the sample or from newegg.

looks like it is the sample board from allen   should arrive on thurs day
22420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 07, 2017, 04:06:03 PM
I got a shipping number from dhl  the 10 pack may come this Friday.

The other seller may be bad  I ordered a sample on the 31st and no tracking I think I will need to put in a claim  against him.

Hi Allen,

Do you have any tracking infomation  for me.

Thank you and Best Regards ,

 Phliip

Allen xxx   2017-11-05 09:49
Shipped, tracking will be given tomorrow

Allen xxx 2017-11-06 22:04
Hi Philip, tracking number will be given today plesae wait a while. Thanks.

Philip xxx 2017-11-06 22:18
Allen,

It has been six days since I paid via paypal. I can wait a little more.

Best regards,

Philip Axxx

Allen Dai   2017-11-06 22:35
Hi Philip, sorry but there is a weekend there.

We will use better FF next time in bulk orders, generally will be within 3 days from your payment till you get the tracking number.

Philip Axxx   2017-11-06 23:30

Okay  I hope to get this soon so that I can test it .

Best regards Philip Axxx

Allen Dxx   2017-11-06 23:30
Understood

So  this deal  may go south

Be careful of this seller below

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/8-PCIe-mining-motherboard-Mining-computer_60692122692.html?spm=a2700.8443308.0.0.xi0TTF

What sort of offer did you get from them Phil? I contacted a seller called Letine and they responded pretty fast.

For 12*PCIE motherboard sample price is usd120,
One sample shipping cost to UK is USD49.5
So total cost is usd120+usd49.5=usd169.5

May i know which payment terms is convenient for you pls: Alibaba trade assurance(need to add 3% handle fee), T/T or paypal(need to add 5% paypal handle fee)?

Thanks & Best regards
Ms Sidonia

I wish it was a bit cheaper but sounds legit.

Ms Sidona sold the sample onda m12 to me I paid with paypal so I was at 177.
The 10 pack is 1422 that includes shipping and paypal fee.

If you are in the USA I can send you 1 board for about 170 maybe less if you are close to New Jersey .

I figure I need 4 of the ten coming. And at 170 including shipping I make a few bucks.

Say

142 board cost
   8 my profit
20 to ship it
