So cut the long story short, I use NH to get BTC back. Yeah they charge a tad too expensive, but hey... I will pay a few sats for someone to remove my headaches and give BTC me upfront for buying my hash everyday - no questions asked.

You might be better off with mining directly to pool with auto BTC exchange or mine direct to bittrex with Automatic sell orders , nicehash has is only profitable for few days every couple of months when there is new coins like ETN .

My friend has a shop in the Brooklyn navy yard.

They use big transformers dropping 480 to 208/120

They are as big as a refrigerator .

This is why I told op to get a 15k-watt

They cost 1100 plus shipping and will do 8 s-9s.

At op if you want links contact me.  But I would want a small finders fee.

Spoondolies gave SP20s to about 10 to 15 people, and I was one of them. Anyway, I sent them an email, I'll let you guys know what their reply is, if any.
My point exactly.
Newbs come across some typically Pay-for-Placement PR blurb on any number of 'news' sites and where is one of the first places they head to next to ask about it?

Here.

And here, first reaction is: Knowledgeable folks here take a peak, generally get a good laugh and then leave said Vaporware site a bit saddened someone could think it is even plausible much less real.

*IF* plausible then next step is The Prove It Is Real Mantra. Fail it and then yes I and many others declare SCAM! Considering the millions if $ it takes to bring a miner to market, the cost of a few demo units is insignificant when starting a new brand.

this is all you need you know  when it comes to new builders of gear.

Little update on the D1800, def the usb speed is terrible on this board, i ran a speed test on the computer for the usb thumb drive, it peaked 6.8MB/s and averaged less than 1MB the majority of the test.

I am in the process of installing all the drivers and such on the old SSD and its no longer pausing and the CPU actually is running at base clock speeds, on the USB version of windows i was seeing only 2.05 on the core, now 2.40-2.55 on the cpu core.

I run USB 3.0 Sandisk stick on smOS Linux on this boards and no issues - blazing fast as far as OS is concerned on 4GB RAM.

I do the same with no issues.  Windows may be different
22505  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M3 11.5 Th/s, 2000W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: November 23, 2017, 04:05:33 AM
Should I preorder this miner now. Ships from 20.01-30.01. Is it a good idea/investment or should i consider smth else? Aliexpress buy now price is like 2.1k€ and preorder price is 1.1k$. Thanks for the help

I could sell the demo to you.  Way under 2100 euro.

Send me a pm.  I can ship it as soon as Monday .

I ship to Europe Canada or USA
22506  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: November 23, 2017, 03:25:21 AM
Looks like their first batch has been sold out - https://halongmining.com/shop/dragonmint-16t/  . No more orders

or perhaps the 1 day sale preorders have been sold out and the orders will resume tomorrow for 245 more.

Based on my order number they took in a minimum of ~360BTC assuming 100% payment rate.

nice 360 x 8200 = just under 3 million

here is the deal  if it is real it is marginally better then the s-9

not a lot  just a bit.

16 th  vs 13 th

1600 watts vs 1400 watts

and you wait until late march to get it.---- and you can safely bet your left nut or right ovary  it will come later. Grin

My offer to the company is send me one now.  I will review it and run it in the solar array

just like I run the one from pangolian.  see videos on the pangolian (seller's company not miners name)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-K1Sokgy3-4CdV_uZF8ubw?view_as=subscriber

the miner does make money at the moment.

no one in their right mind should have sent money  for goods coming in march  that  are not really 15% better then an s-9

22507  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 600 volt x 400 amp on: November 23, 2017, 02:52:24 AM
People.... THINK about what you are getting into....
If you are asking this sort of question you really need to perhaps pursue other interests...

You are asking how many miners can I power? Fine. Start with:
How many watts of power does each miner need?
A safe answer typically is around 1,400 watts

You say you have 600v 400amp service. Great.
Problem is you have no idea what a 'Watt' is so connecting the dots is

A simple Google search will tell you:  Watts = Volts x Amps
In your case you can supply 240,000 watts or 240kw minus your 20% reserved.
You do the math for how many miners that works out to.

And of course miner PSU's require between 208-240VAC. Need heap-big step-down transformer to go from 600v down to around 220V.

Having fun yet?

No need for snark. I get that watts = volts x amps, my question is more about how to go down from 600v - maybe there are some particularly efficient ways of doing so, especially since I've got to keep 20% for other purposes. It could be that maybe I should try to keep that entirely separate, in case of fluctuations. It could be that it would affect the optimal choice of miner, even, if some fluctuate more than others. Makes sense to ask this group, because presumably some people here know that stuff.

okay  so  600 x 400 = 240,000   while you think  20%  goes elsewhere  I will use 25%  trust me on this

so 240,000 x .75 = 180,000  'free' to mine

derate by 20%  =  180,000 x .80 = 144,000

since an s-9  miner uses about  1440

144,000/1440 = 100 s-9's

now  here is the funny part  the guy you called snarky  has really good links  for big step down  transformers

I don't know off hand  where to find them.

Since  you are going to be running  a large  operation  I could research it for a fee .

send me a pm.

I know of one company that makes  a 600 volt to  208/120 volt up to 15 kwatts  you could buy  a few  to see it you like them.

they lose about 3%  so  a 15kwatt is about 14500 watts enough for 8 s-9's  once you derate  20%  for safety sake  about 1100 usd

found a second company for you  has a big model  will do the whole load with overhead for 10k  can do 225kwatts

600 volts in  208/120 volts out

shipping is costly as it weighs 1 ton  (well 1925 lbs)

personally  I would order the smaller ones  and have multiple circuits.  if one breaks it is 1100 plus ship to replace  and your others are still working.

22508  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 23, 2017, 01:23:45 AM
Some are telling me on Reddit they are just getting their Nov. 21-30 batch orders. Means they shipped out earlier without me. Sad. I wonder how you get priority or do they randomize. I ordered pretty quickly.

Still shows unshipped for my 11/21-11/30 S9s - some people might get lucky, I guess.

Weird that you guys haven't gotten yours yet..I've received all of my November orders and I have even received my Dec 1 - 10 orders. Including all of the PSU's that I ordered.

I am jealous  Sad

what country  do you live in?
22509  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - 2pacs in Stock! BTC,LTC,ETH,BCH and more on: November 23, 2017, 12:37:05 AM
I've received a small batch of 9 moonlander units, which will be going out to the first 9 single unit orders. The rest of the preorder units will be arriving sometime next week and will be going out shortly thereafter. All orders will be going out in kit form, with instructions included.
Thanks for your patience!

I ordered one will post in alt coins when I get it.

hi,

i wanna complete my 12 gpu mobo with 10 rx 570(4gb) + 2 rx 580(4gb), but i wanna ask u guys about buying ram for mobo, ddr4 4gb is enough for it, or at least 8gb or more?

thank u for ur answers.

Question belongs in altcoins not here.

A suggestion to you is for about 80 you get 8 gb and no worries
22512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 22, 2017, 05:44:03 PM
regarding watercooling 8 cards..take a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s_je7-BIEc. we can learn something from this guy.

he did nice work.

but  radiators are a little lite  2x 3 fan  he should have used 2x 4 fan style

and  he  should have used 1 or 2 inches more space  between each card.  if a riser dies  lifting a middle card to remove the riser would be a lot easier

22514  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 22, 2017, 04:09:26 AM
what's the current profitability on S9's?

550-600 per month.

Power cost is about 110 a month. If you have ten cent a k-watt

I got 10 odna's the b250's  just arrived.

As for the d1800   ddr3 is good not ddr4

Storx if you want to mail it to me in NJ  I could try it out

I owe  1 board with ram and cpu  to one person --------  please pm me  I will ship with an upgrade  as I delayed you

I have to replace a doa board 1 + I  have a buyer for 5   so 6 to the same guy please pm me

the other 3 I am keeping

I have 50 hours work to do  in the next 24 not going to do it all.

The late board will ship first thing in the morning.  Grin

Don't forget you will be getting back the B250 you sent me Phil.

Thanks I did forget that one.

I think I know what I would like the case to do that you build for me.

I am going to use  7 of the slots  leaving one empty .

I would need a back bar  that will allow 7 water radiators to hang on.

also a mounting bar for the 7  gpus

a base to hold  the psu and mobo.  I will look at you posts as you had something that worked other then needing a back board to hang raditors.

@
rs1x    I will toss in a free cpu cooler and upgrade you on the cpu to a 6500t  and not a 4400t

as the seller cancelled the cpu I ordered.

No worries I got your board to post here it is on simple mining.  using my email

Hi . I have bought one . But i have problem in this miner it reboot automatically after few minutes and never reach 9.3th . Also the fans speed are too slow its 1290 in , so the temperature adjust to over 80C and then after few minutes it shut down and reebot automatically . Whats the problem with this whatsminer M3 ??

screenshots of the gui..

would be needed to determine if it has issues.

9.3th  is a bit low.

do you have 240 230 220 208 volts.

if you have 208 volts  the psu that came with it may not have enough power to run it at 10-11th

also long times matter  multi hour tests not ten minute test.

it runs here

https://www.nicehash.com/miner/16yLHLoeyuCLPMXkVpC3gyrRYvwRGwjKJr

goes as low as 7th as high as 13th  but that is how nicehash is.

been mining 8 days

Im at a lost with this D1800 board, i cant get it to post for the life of me, ive tried 2 different ram sticks, 5 different GPU's... just nothing... gonna file claim to get my money back, the seller has not responded to my messages in over a week.
...

try redo the sata and molex connections with dedicated cables - you should have 4 sata and 2 perifs on your ATX PSU

do you hear a beep upon power on?

I get zero sound on powerup, just gpu lights/spins up and cpu fans start turning no noise

my guess is it is a shorted board.

not that you did it.

but it may have been a return.

If you put the molex in upside down  the board shorts.

been there done that.

once the board shorts   if you wire it correctly  it then does exactly what you describe.

my second board I wired correctly and it is running 2 1080 ti's and 2 1070's

What do you think about the RAM? it just seems so loose in the connection....did you have issues with installing the RAM?

Also this was my first time inserting anything into it, i made sure the molex was installed correctly on each slot, so i have no clue how it became shorted at all.

That D1800 uses DDR3 Sodimm memory.... pls double check one last time...

The tracking shows that the import C.O.D is due "Import C.O.D. (ICOD) charges are due for this shipment."

So must be Bitmain who screwed it up. Send the other one fine, but made a mistake on this one it seems.
