KYC required for bounty participates?
I second that: do users have to complete KYC procedure on your platform in order to participate in any of your bounty campaigns? Let us know, thank you

I am a fuc@#in' bull but I will keep my mouth shut! I'll stay in the trench until the final enemy will come to me and say: "ok, come on man, let' make up.
How much for a bitcoin?" Then everything will change.
Don't get lost in the meanwhile.

Is the Scronty guy supposedly Craig Wright ?  Because he has an ego the size of a house and it’s full of irrelevant drama masquerading as character development.

It should not be Craig Wright but it appears to be that guy

Or is it now Dave, Craig and Phil...?

It sounds like three members of a really bad rock band.  As I started reading I thought Scronty was Craig, but then....

Has this turned it up to 11?

Come on Bitcoin... .... ....
Just go up!

With PoW, CPU mining would be the best. Access to CPU processing power is most widespread and CPUs can be utilized to a lot more tasks then just so solve one task. This would be A LOT more energy efficient and less costly to the users of the network.

Nonsense. Regardless of technology, the energy consumption of Bitcoin mining will tend up to the amount where the money spent upon it will be ever so slightly less than the dollar value of the bitcoins mined. Basic econ 101.

Quote
But because the bitcoin community is mostly one big echo chamber, this hasn't been exactly discussed.

Nonsense again. It has been discussed over and over and over and...
N00b.

If you want a shitcoin with some other algorithm, there are hundreds to choose from. Why are you focused upon destroying bitcoin?
I've always known you liked it!  Wink

About price: how long until Batman pattern will be followed by that of Superman?

BLACK PANTHER, BABY!
Nothing to do man, neither Black Panther (good one) nor Superman: still a lot of Batman ups and downs. A lot happening behind the scenes and hence this chess game.

Reading the last posts I agree that there should be a clearer roadmap in terms of final coins distribution. As afbitcoins mentions we can not rely on a few bucks given for completing KYC. I am not against change but I start not to feel much comfortable in this new evolutionary path. There's no perfect model of distributing coins (agreed) but IMHO here the issue is as follows:

Is it possible to have a timeline regarding the release of your APP? Also, it is said on the WP that firstly you are going to release an ETH token that will represent the real token on your Mainnet: my questions is, are these ETH tokens used for the airdrops?
.

IT would actualy be quite interesting to have air drop as an event for release of main net! But maybe it is a bad time Considering the team will be very busy then. How will the swap be handeled when releasing main net?

If you go to the website https://www.multiversum.io/#token they state "Airdrop of the unsold tokens twice a week, to all the wallets that still hold 100% of the MTV tokens purchased at any ICO stage. The airdrop will start 2 weeks after the end of ICO and will last 18 months."

Right but it's still unclear to me is if airdropped tokens will go into the website MTV account or directly to our ERC-20 Eth Address. Because if don't have to move our tokens that means we have to keep them on our MTV profile. Please clarify

Dear Lafu and Cryptopia.

Your  GBYTE wallet is stuck on block 1944463 (actual it is more than 1948927) - it is more than 2 MONTHS of delay

and has a version of the wallet v2.0.0 (v2.1.0 actual now)

Old versions of the wallet do not see new blocks and Tx !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will close my (preliminary) Scam accusation thread as soon as this issue will be solved.
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=GBYTE
At least it looks like the wallet is connected to other peers, which sounds good to me

Cryptopia updated the wallet: still in maintenance though.

Hopefully this will be solved for good!

I will be more than happy to close this thread saying that we were not scammed by them.

Standard weekend dump  Roll Eyes
Not quite, this one might be harder. I really hoped that we could get over the four digits but nothing to do. Bears are still here with us.
I have some fresh fiat though and I am buying. Fuck it.

These are scary times. Will make your palms sweaty when playing these little swings during bear markets.

It's not a question on if bitcoin will fail, but the questions are when will it fail, how big will it get before it will fail and how much will it effect other more practical cryptos. Bitcoin is the ultimate modern materialization of pure greed. A lot of people with unrealistic dreams of easy riches and very little practical substance. Currently PoW mining is costing the bitcoin network about 2,5 billion$ annually (https://digiconomist.net/bitcoin-energy-consumption). That is the pure electric cost, calculated with the assumption that most mining is done with cheap electricity. And you also have to count in the mining equipment that's development and production is mostly paid by the money from the crypto market, then also things like rent end salaries. The closer realistic cost of running the bitcoin network for a year is closer to 5 billion$. With an optimistic count, it is said that bitcoin has around 3-5million active users. That means that it costs around 1000$ per year for user just to keep bitcoin mining alive. All of these expenses for a payment network without actual advantages...

The millennials, who are the driving force of bitcoin, aren't able to comprehend that someone does have to pick up the bill. The only way that they don't have to pay for the mining mega expenses is for new greater fools to do it instead. But the bleak truth about greater fools is that they always eventually run out. Then bitcoiners have to pay for the mining costs of the network, with the dollar value of their bitcoins. Then you will see how all those "fiat-hating-revolutionary-snowflakes" will screech in distress, over how much less dollars will they get for their bitcoins.

Bolded text is what I am indeed seeing in this whole crypto crazy world. People who had no idea about what a bitcoin is, suddenly become expert traders who can distinguish between a good and a bad crypto coin. I've seen people losing their savings to gamble on tokens, coins and ICOs.

I'm on the train but a part of me is feeling a bit(coin) train sick. And by the way, thanks for the energy consumption insights

Hmm maybe nothing but CME futures last trade day is 23th feb, settlement on 28th

Yes, closes tomorrow at 4.00pm London time. Looking at the price during this contract, almost all the day's closes were below the price we had a couple of days ago. This could explain the current push down of the price.

I think we will know for sure if the price jumps, as the CME traders buy back in once the contract closes.
I may open a long just before close.

I think we are on the same page here and I wanted to make sure somebody posted this before doing it myself. This "futures" game cannot last: if it gets discovered they will find other patterns.
