Is there any guesstimate on when stakeholders will be informed of how to claim their stakes (via BTT or other means)?

No - at least not an "official" one.
My personal guesstimate would be June - July.

Let NAS be the Litecoin to NXT. Anyone that is aiming to be a rip-off to begin with doesn't really concern me Smiley
NEM will stand on it's own and not be a litecoin to anything Cool

Here is what I found in my email as I could not find my post anymore...

http://i57.tinypic.com/2889sv6.png

Bump... any update? thanks

I went through all of your posts and can't find any in the either of the registration threads.
Unfortunately the email you've found seems to be worthless.

I am confused, I posted in your registration thread, offered my assistance, sent a PM to OP, got a reply ... Later on (few days later) the POST is deleted for which I have provided proof... what else do you want?
I am happy to show the emails in my gmail account (and the PM in my BCT; as I have not deleted them) as proof, let me know how.

I'll have to leave this for UP...

Guys I think we have to hurry up.  People are building new PoS coins left and right.  By the time, we launched NEM, we may not be that "unique" anymore as the most distributed community.

Great great great community we have here!

NEM isn't PoS so I think we're fine. Even if it was PoS...let the clones do their thing we'll do ours Smiley
2265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: April 14, 2014, 09:18:29 AM
PLEASE!

Look at this next account to 3243382701527979272 and what do you notice?
This "man" has here (I have not counted) made more than + 50 shares!!
That's so unfair I have to no more words!
I would like to be taken on this user for ALL imitators all NEM share away!
That can not be so hard wine little research to operate??
This guy is a stakeholder in NXT and has so much time that he daily +50 Nem shares "buy"!

It is surely easy to control such a thing and he's always on!!!!

Please does what, or I'm gone and do that what's going on Puplik.

Notice:
Should not be done, I waive my NEM share!

Just to make sure I understand you correctly:
This guys bought 50+ NXT shares and if we don't remove him than you will go public with this information and you will request a refund for your stake.

First of all you already went public. This thread isn't exactly area 51.
Sencondly if it's so obvious he bought 50+ stakes then he probably made the refund list anyway. Do you have proof for your accusations ? Did you use taint analysis ? I didn't check all his tx but on the first pages I couldn't find any tx to the buy-in address.

You know you could have just asked for us to take a look at it and consider it during the auditing right ? No need to resort to threats.

Is an alpha test by the end of the month a guarantee?

No.
Noone can guarantee anything. Even major companies run into hickups sometimes and have to delay stuff. If that happens to huge companies it can happen to people working on a project in their free time.

I'm not saying there absolutely won't be an alpha. I'm saying shit happens.

We want a multi-pool for NEM. Agree ? Who can help ? Smiley

What do we need to create  a multipool?

I'm not sure how i feel about a multipool for NEM.

Should we really support the waste of energy just to maybe get some miners on board ?
Is that really going to do much good for the value of NEM ? (no idea about this one)
Why would anyone use our multipool if they can use anyother pool and then wait for a good price to exchange ? (are we going to somehow provide benefits like better prices or alike ?)

When I heard that NXT was doing something like that all i thought was that they completely threw the "green" out the window.

I think you've missed the point of the multi-pool a bit.

A multi pool will use the hashing power of the community to mine other alt-coins which will be sold for bitcoin. The bitcoin will then be used to buy NEM which will theoretically increase the price of NEM. I can't think of a good reason not to do this. Its only a matter of time until ALL new alt-coins catch on to this and we are in the prime position to make it happen now.

Did you even read my post ?

Yes I did. I think my reply went off course I apologize. I mean to say that the people using this multi-pool aren't going to be using it just as a multi-pool. They will be aware of its purpose, and contributing in order to increase the price of a coin that they own. Even non-stakeholders will see this as important as they can contribute to increasing the value of coins they have just purchased. Using a multi-pool to mine alt-coins is one thing, but using it for this purpose is pretty genius. With more NEM being purchased at a steady rate this will increase the value of NEM. I witnessed blackcoin do this with my own eyes. I actually own some. As for the green aspect my personal opinion is that very very few people actually care and it will have little affect. It seems more like legacy idea that was used to make coins stand out in the past.

No need to apologize Smiley
I understand where you guys are coming from and I can see how it could have a positive effect.
For me personally however the green aspect is very important. If NEM is worth a little less but more green in return - I would be very happy with that. I wouldn't want to increase the value of NEM by supporting a system that is obviously flawed (not in a tech sense but you see what I mean right?).
Smart people have come up with alternatives to PoW for a reason. I personally would hate to see those accomplishments go to waste.

However like I said...just expressing my concerns.

1. That's the argument that will one day have destroyed the planet. You know why that argument works ? Because everyone uses it. If noone would support mining noone would mine. Why should we not be the first to step up and say "screw it" to waste of computing power and energy ?
2. and then dump ? imho miners are not really healthy for a crypto. They are just in it for the money not to actually use the currency they are mining. (some may actually mine to support the currency but that's probably the minority)
3. Anyone can place limit orders that are automatically filled on an exchanges. I don't think that's a big point. Why would I acceppt a much worse rate when I can just wait a bit ?

1. Yes...  I understand where you're coming from...  it might be wise for NEM to not fund a multipool officially as a development project...  but how can NEM prevent someone from doing it anyway?
2. In this case...  the crypto they end up with is not the one they mined.  Dumps may come later down the line of course once value goes up...  some of it might be sucked up by new Demand from the multipool...  but it will be interesting to see.  I have my eyes on Blackcoin waiting to see how it will pan out too.  I guess if Demand from the multipools is out the picture...  it all comes down to general development of the respective crypto...  which takes us back to what you are saying!    Wink
3. Some people are lazy/missing the know-how.

Yeah...well. I didn't actually mean to stop anyone from doing it. Just wanted to express my concerns Smiley

1. People with mining gear will mine anyway.
2. Constant Demand...  actually even better...  we're not talking about just Bids being placed...  we're talking about Asks constantly being filled.
3. Automation

I'm following this launch with great interested and I'm keen to know does anyone who's invested in this coin even know what day of the week it is?  Grin

What is that supposed to mean ?

while regulations are helping to create greater certainty.

Regulations from government = good Huh

... well this coin is not for me.

Regulations CAN be good. Of course they can also be terrible.

Nice to see that NEM is going forward!Though the process is still slow Grin

I don't think process is slow, considering what has to be done. Of course this is somewhat subjective.

How do we get nem coins

The IPO more or less closed on February 17 (or March 2, it's nebulous). The waiting list closed yesterday. The finalized stakeholder list should be posted Soon™, and some original slots may/may not be opened, and there might be a method implemented to include a few more folks. Or maybe not. I'm in no way affiliated with NEM other than being a general supporter and getting anxious like everyone else. Smiley

Once there's an alpha, I'm pretty sure folks will be spreading NEM around so it can be adopted by as many users as possible.
so it wont be possible to generate this coin? Only buying on exchangers

There will be no mining if that's what you mean.
2277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] ---NEM stake complaint, questions etc.--- on: April 10, 2014, 07:15:47 AM
Hi Guys, on the original post it had something about doing something to help NEM. I posted and PM'd OP about hosting a NEM Node and got a confirmation that would be intouch a little closer to launch. However do not see myself on the stakelist?

I PM'd utopianfuture but I know he will be busy so posting here if anyone else can pick it up.
Thanks.

Since you talked to UP directly back then I'll leave this for UP to clear up. Not much I can to since I wasn't involved.

The development process (up to this point), visualized and turned into gifs Smiley
Props go to Gimre, I just converted it to gif.

That's right. This is for you little crybabies that see no progress  Kiss

Excuse me for being non-technical but what do these pictures/videos represent?

Gimre made them so to be 100% sure he'll have to answer but I'm pretty sure they represent branche of the code repo and who worked on them over time. Can't see that very well because of the size but there are actually Letters floating around that represent the nicks of the devs.
