2281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best long term cold storage? on: July 03, 2016, 09:22:06 AM
Hello guys,

I'm looking for an optimale way to store some BTCs for long term.

Being digital nomad, I dont have a proper place to store a paper wallet. I'm quite afraid to lose passwords too, and I want to prevent robbery or a hardware failure (lose of my computer, smartphone, usb key, ...)
I was thinking of a multisig wallet to avoid robbery or to lose access to them in case I'm forgetting a password.

What's my best option?

Thanks
Honestly, I wouldn't trust USB sticks for "long-term" storage since they degrade.
I can only argue on either hardware wallets or paper wallets as long as they are well-kept and properly maintained and in tight security, it's the best choice.
2282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach someone about Bitcoin on: July 03, 2016, 08:48:42 AM
As the title say, what is the proper way to teach someone about what is Bitcoin?
For me. I will teach him to all my knowledge about bitcoin or what is bitcoin.. if they are ask me if how to earn. I should to explain all my knowledge about earning bitcoin. But before of them and most of them explain what is bitcoin before to proceed to the next step of earning. And then if he ask me about in bitcoin i will answer them. But not all the questions it is depending on my knowledge. Because me too i really don't know all about of bitcoin.
why are you wasting your time and energy. you no need to wate your time. just give him the website address or tell him to search for it in you tube. one can find any kind of information about bitcoin on internet.
Yeah that will make the task easier. Refer them on youtube for video tutorials or just told them to create account here because this site is what he's looking for because he can both learn and earn from this forum and this site is always updated on the different news about cryptocurrencies whether it's bitcoin or not. And we can also share our thoughts and ask about the things that we don't know about bitcoin and get very useful feedbacks or replies in just a few couple of hours or even minutes if there are many active members on that moment.
A person that is not interested will never do the thing you said, they will never browse nor search on the bitcoin if they don't want it or they aren't curious on it. They will just say to you "Oh, okay I will" but then after than they will not mind it and do the other things they want.
First thing is to ask whether they are actually and honestly interested in learning about what bitcoin is because the approach of "teaching" would depend on the level of interest of that certain person. There are people like me who'd like to only be taught of the basics then go in a deeper explanation when I've actually tried and tested it out myself.
2283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should I invest in bitcoin casinos? on: July 03, 2016, 08:32:59 AM
Some casinos have swings. Sometimes they are up in profit and sometimes they are down. You can always invest when they are down and when they go back to 100% you can withdraw your earnings and repeat. No idea if this will work however in the short term.
I think though that loss to a casinos happens very rarely. I think there is no way to think how a house can loose in a long run, but surely can. So, yes even if it is investment, invest with a thought in mind that you might loose all of it.
2284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great article to learn about incentives of Exchangers to run with your money.. on: July 02, 2016, 03:44:58 PM
You could have attracted more people if you had posted this thread on the Trading section because apparently, this is about trading.

Anyone could share their experience with bitsquare?
2285  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: July 02, 2016, 03:27:16 PM
What has been suggest so far by all members here is summed to I think :
Invest in gambling sites,
Hold up bitcoins and sell when price gets higher,
Trade alt-coins,
Make some bitcoin service related site
and my plan in investment would be doing some of above by splitting my bitcoins as diversifying will reduce my risks.
2286  Other / Off-topic / Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ? on: July 02, 2016, 01:44:57 PM
bitcoin funds transfer transactions could be from anywhere and anytime. that's the thing I like the most. as it was until now I always use bitcoin.

We have both view about what we like the best about bitcoin. And it is really amazing that it can substitute transactions from paypal and be converted into bitcoin as I'm having problems with paypal.
And good thing that bitcoin is their for solving my problem from paypal.
Paypal is crap to be honest. The fees are just totally annoying and they would sometimes just lock you out of your own account without providing any reason, not that it happened to me though but it happened to a friend of mine.
2287  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ? on: July 02, 2016, 01:36:31 PM
Yes you should now believe more in the bitcoin than ever because it has a good future, more people are joining it everyday and the fact is also that the halving is coming!
We gonna make a lot of profit in the future of the bitcoin.
That is the reason why most of us are holding our bitcoins and buying more and more and waiting for halving.
We all know bitcoins will rise to a high price after halving and soon big profits on the line. But I am a long term believer of bitcoin system similar to Satoshi. Yes my plan of holding bitcoin may last for decades.
2288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Rich from Gambling? on: July 02, 2016, 01:25:24 PM
No I'm not rich at all due to the fact that gambling is for the enjoying I never gambled to get rich.
In fact I also do not think that getting rich from it is possible.

It is still possible to get rich from it but it is so small chance for it.

Look at the winners of Lotto, they still win right  and get rich, but that kind of winning is full of luck and the person who won is very lucky.

But at least I still made my point here that even for a very very small chance, you can still become rich from gambling taking into account the luck that you must have.
You have to be really lucky if you want to be lucky with gambling and that is because you have to know that there are a lot of people that is losing a lot of money with gambling because they are not that lucky.
But of course it should be nice that there are now more people that is realizing that it is hard to win some money in gambling.

Yep, if only people would be more aware of this. Then there would be less and less tragic horror stories of gambling.
Added to being lucky to win, you also have to fight many other similar situations.
For example I was once wining good enough but then by mistake pressed all in and hence made a bet and lost it. Now I can not say I was not lucky, but yet lost.
2289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: July 01, 2016, 02:46:27 PM
If I were rich, I'd probably choose another way to interact with gambling - buying a casino Cheesy

a good way Smiley but full of high risk than gambling. because having a casino is to be given a guarantee of safety and comfort. So if you don't have these criteria then don't ever buy a casino or you'll go crazy

Hahaha. That is so not a bad idea at all. Lol. Own the casino and play in it. Promote and get your friends to play, win win for you.
I really liked the casino, but I am more interested in betting on sports betting predictions of the ball, it's really great fun and very exciting, I think even when people who play gambling hobby become rich, I think they will keep gambling.
If I get too rich and given the opportunity and have time to gamble, I will really do arbitrage betting and occasionally sports betting to refresh my mind. I believe arbitrage betting yields high profits as compared to simply betting. Some of my friend too also recommends the same.
2290  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Bitcoin price is too high? on: July 01, 2016, 01:50:13 PM
For u personally what is a Bitcoin price that u would consider too high?

What can be the maximum Bitcoin's worth?

~CfA~
It depends on what price has been considered a stable price for bitcoins. Earlier it was stable at $250-$300 for over a year and people considered that as a stable price for BTC while since November 2015, it has seen prices like $400-$800 till date which is not considered a stable rate. For me, the highest price that bitcoin has reached is $1300 which is too high to consider buying bitcoins.
2291  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: XAPO Hot Wallet Service did turn into SCAM! BE AWARE ! on: July 01, 2016, 01:40:06 PM
I dont like my wallet to be deactivated so need to be careful if it's will happen,my suggestion for you sir don't put all your bitcoin in one wallet, there is some online wallet deactivated by moderator
Without even warning so be prepared if it will happen . I do not trust any kind of online wallet coz there is a posibility that it will take your worked bitcoin so use desktop wallet to be sure.
Even a desktop wallet can give issues if your hard drive fails and same goes with paper wallets. Each wallet has its negatives and hence I use xapo and multibit as well as unocoin to have more than one wallet holding my coins. Else, if you lose your password, you can't access any wallet in that case.
2292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: July 01, 2016, 01:19:02 PM
My biggest problem with the bitcoin is that it has confirms with payments and when you are using low fee's it really takes a lot of time before someone will receive it...
Its very annoying in my eyes and a big problem..

You should not worry about payment confirmation. When the transaction hit the blockchain consider it done. If you deal with large amounts I would however wait for 6 confirmation to avoid double spends.
Well, whenever doing transactions with anyone ask them to pay a higher fees while sending and even if they don't you can check the fees they paid and if its non zero and non dust then check if there is no unconfirmed input, if not then surely your txn will get confirmed.
2293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Final countdown [10 Days before the halving] on: July 01, 2016, 12:59:40 PM
I'm holding my coins since 3 months and am waiting to see the result (whether it's profitable or it will incur a loss). I was unsure if the price would reach $900 last week but then the sudden drop made me sure that this price wouldn't remain stable. Hearing that the price would be $650-$655, I believe that we are at it right now. Also, I hope the block reward wouldn't make it longer for transactions to be confirmed.
2294  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: June 30, 2016, 06:57:25 AM
Buy or develop your own time machine and go back to 2008 and mine BTC on the computer at your mothers house in the basement

If I knew to build a time machine, would make a loan (In BTCJam hahahaha) to realize this feat.

But, as I am poor, the only solution I have to make money (and to buy more Bitcoins and Altcoins) is to study and work hard.
Not really man you can get rich without studying too. I have a friend who left his studies due to the bitcoins and believing in the future of it. Okay, take an example of Vitalik the famous coin developer of ethereum. You can check his story by google.
2295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much can you earn with gambling? on: June 30, 2016, 06:44:25 AM
now I've never again counting my gains in gambling, I sometimes just guess in every game and it made me make money, but this time I'm stopped, because I think my expenses are more than the revenue has
Hmm I do not think I have ever had a month where I end up in profit. I deposit and buy bitcoins with my credit card and hence it is easy to check how much I lost or won with gambling and my overall progress for that month.

Personally I believe it is always good to have proper records of how much we are adding to gambling bank-roll and how much we are withdrawing from gambling either in btc value or in fiat.
2296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your biggest loss gambling? on: June 30, 2016, 06:24:15 AM
I see a lot of people panic about the today disappearance of hashocean. Some of them desperately try to look around and was trying very hard to get back their money. I even see some claimed that they have invested like $10,000 last week. That is like a loss of 200btc in a gamble on the ponzi site.
yes but i have not invested such a big amount ever in my life. i am doing gambling with in a rang and limiit and may be that is the reason that i have not losses such a bit amount. my biggest lost is about 500 USD i think..
Well, that is the only reason I also am with the guys who don't allow the promotion of ponzi ( tag them with red trust ) because in gambling at least you depend on YOUR LUCK while in ponzi you depend on OWNER'S MERCY. Anyways had my loss of 0.2 btc approx reduced to 0.1 by some nice wins today.
2297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: June 30, 2016, 06:13:41 AM
giving up gambling is not easy it is a fact, but i think that if you are a decisions taking person as we as a determinent person then it is not difficult to give up. i think there is no need to give up gambling if you doing it for fun and enjoyment. if we decide to do gambling just for fun and for enjoyment and not only for the purpose of getting money over a night then it is not a bad thing. i hope that you will understand my message clearly.
Even if you are doing it for fun and entertainment then you should leave gambling right now.

The reason is gambling addiction starts from fun only but you will never know when it becomes an addictive money earning source for you. Because we need to realize that most of the gamblers are losers who had started it for fun.
2298  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will reach $4000 after halving ? on: June 30, 2016, 06:01:53 AM
Nobody knows what will happen to bitcoin after halving but at my opinin  price will start decreasing, cause it was so high before halving, around $750.

Bitcoin is full of surprises and its really difficult to predict what will be the price at halving or after halving, just prefer to hold my coins and hoping for the best at halving.

I don't think that bitcoin can even achieve the price of 1000 usd at halving or even after the halving, so dreaming of $4k is something waste of time.
Don't be so negative about your thoughts friend. Did you knew that price would bump from 400$ to 800$ in a span of just 2-3 weeks ? NO, then how you can even think that something which has so much more potential can not cross
1000$ ? In my perspective it may go beyond $5000 also.
2299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have u ever received BTC accidentally or randomly? on: June 30, 2016, 05:47:11 AM
Hmmm.  Actually this just happened to me this weekend.  I opened my poker account wallet and found 10 dollars worth of bitcoin in there.  I knew it wasn't mine so I contacted support to let them know that I had received money in my account and I don't know where it came from....All they said was, "if it's in your account, then it's there for a reason."  So, I spent it.  I think that it's important to try to figure out where somebody might have made a mistake by sending their money to the wrong address....I mean, it would suck if WE sent our money to the wrong address, right?
Wow that is very nice of you, I would have gambled them up Tongue . Jokes apart, I have never been so lucky, though yes I once got lucky rain from a member on bitdice or primedice ( i do not remember ) worth some 3-4$ , but that was not accidental actually.
2300  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: June 29, 2016, 07:36:45 AM
if you want to retire in 20 years you need allot of bitcoins if the bitcoin value will still be the same as now off course.
|Otherwise the price of the bitcoin needs to be that high that you only need a couple of them but we should never know what the price will be
I think that depends of the country he lives and the style of his living. In my country a person can live with one bitcoin for a month easily and after retirement as the expenses decreases may be that turns to six months with one bitcoin.
