Does anyone know the correct arguments for MultiMiner for changing the oscillating bits for RedFuries overclocking?? I cannot figure it out. nwools gave me all sorts of great info I just can't seem to execute it properly.

Did you see his thread on how far he has clocked them? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=336782.0That's a whole lot of heat he has found a great solution too. I have a server room that could use that kind of custom cooling. Larger fans are much easier to keep quiet. Small high speed fans are just plain old loud. Slowing the speed reduces noise, but most are still very jet sounding like.
The right, as in "so much more right it's right" way to do cooling is with water, no doubt. I'm literally running two jalapenos, one has 7 chips, two big heat sinks with two big fans, top and bottom, and runs at 75c. The other has eight chips, a little noctua fan on the top, and a H100 Corsair water cooling block on the bottom. It runs at 45c. And dead quiet. The two fans on it run at auto speed on the radiator which is a whisper of sound. I can't believe anyone would waste time with air and fans for anything larger than a toy rig. C Obviously you weren't reading. Unless you can find a waterblock for a server powersupply. Wow a whole two jalapenos. When you get an entire office full of mining equipment come back to us and preach how much you still suggest water cooling.

Ok I emailed it to you. Thanks for checking it out. My Avalon will be here this week it will be fun to test out you new version. Here is a screenshot. I was in front of the computer they are running on and everything was good yet Remoting was showing it was offline.
That's MobileMiner which is unrelated to MultiMiner Remoting. If MobileMiner is showing your rig offline it may be an API issue. I'll take a look on my end. Can you email me your MobileMiner app key?

Here is a screenshot. I was in front of the computer they are running on and everything was good yet Remoting was showing it was offline. Every now and the the app will show one rig as being offline. Yet when I go down there to look everything is doing fine and there are no issues. The only way to get Remoting to work again is to manually restart mining on that system.
Can you post a screenshot of what you mean by offline? Thanks in advance.

I have an odd small error going on with MuM and Remoting. Every now and the the app will show one rig as being offline. Yet when I go down there to look everything is doing fine and there are no issues. The only way to get Remoting to work again is to manually restart mining on that system. It does not do it on my 2nd system. Any ideas?

You may have to go in and change the permissions manually to make it run on Server. Usually it can be done that way. Also make sure you are not going to hose your active directory or domain controller by taking all the processing power away from it or you may end up with a messed up or at the very least laggy as heck server. Hey I'm trying to mine on a windows server 2008 but with no success, can someone help me?

I certianly will. It has already done : 308 Accepted (96.86%) When you restart I will keep track and give you the total when done. Thanks again I appreciate this so much. Thanks it's on and working great. Glad it is If you could keep track of how much I mined for you I would greatly appreciate it. I would like to add it to the OP for Stats

Very cool. Now if they can deliver in a timely manner it will be great. Hashing speed and power usage: 315GH/s, 1020W@220V in normal mode. 210GH/s, 420W@220V in ECO mode. Very similar spec to an Antminer with OC when in eco mode, both 55nm chip things are going to get competitive around here

That is great news. I am saving my BTC to have him upgrade my 5gh/s Jalapeno as well. Now I am even more chomping at the bit to do so. Thanks for sharing. I'm using my first post on this forum to thank LightFoot for the great job he has done on this topic and for the work he did on my Jally. I am one of the customers he mentioned in his post that he worked on this week. In fact, I think the pictures are of my upgraded Jally. I originally ordered my Jally in July as a 5Gh unit. I almost gave up hope when it finally arrived early in December. I was pleasantly surprised to see it hashed at 7+ Gh/sec. But, in the short time I've had it, its bitcoin mining rate has dropped from almost $4 USD/day to maybe $1/day. Some of that drop was because the exchange rate was very high when I started and has settled, but most of the drop is because of the difficult rate increasing around 30% per week. It was clear that I needed to upgrade soon before the killer 300GH and 600GH machines hit the streets in February or more likely March or later. In following this topic for a few weeks, I decided that upgrading my Jally from its original 2 chips to 5 would be the best compromise between cost and complexity. Going more than 5 sounded like I'd have additional cooling costs initially and ongoing. The major change the 5 chips makes is needing an upgraded power supply. Since my original one blew up after the 1st week and I had upgraded to a PC Power supply, I was ready. So, I purchased 3 chips from EBay. But, I wasn't certain I wanted to risk ruining my only miner and I couldn't afford to purchase a spare one to upgrade. I noticed that LightFoot indicated that he would be willing to upgrade other people's Jallys. So, early last week I sent him a PM asking for information, timing, and costs. He responded quickly and I felt the price was reasonsable. It happened to match almost exactly the amount of bitcoins I had successfully mined since December. I decided it was a good sign and boxed my Jally up on Wednesday night a week ago and sent it to LightFoot USPS Priority 2 day. Had my coins transferred to my wallet from Eligius and Eclipse and when everything was there, I sent him the coins on Thursday. He let me know when the Jally arrived, kept me updated with messages and even pictures throughout the process, and was patient enough to answer my million questions. Most of the time it takes is shipping, the next largest is testing/burnin before and after. He was very careful and didn't do all the chips at once. He tested between additions. He sent the Jally back to me on Wednesday and it arrived today. It has been running for almost two hours and is hashing away at 18.3Gh. I think it will make it eventually to 19Gh. One pleasant surprise for me is that the hardware error rate is much lower. I was averaging 4%+ because one of the two original chips had an error rate of maybe around 8% and the other was under 1%. I would see a new error at least every minute, so was wasting some of the hash rate on errors. Now, I've only had 16 hardware errors total in the last two hours and the rate is .07%. I believe this is because LightFoot does a better job than BFL does in installing the heatsinks and perhaps because the soldering of the new chips may have reheated and improved the connections and surface contact of the original chips. I don't know if LightFoot has experienced this in his other upgrades, but I'm sure happy it happened on mine. All-in-all it was a very pleasant experience and well worth it. The hardest part was not being able to mine effectively for a little over a week (I had a couple antminers going to help keep away my withdrawal symptoms during that period). Thank you LightFoot... Bill

Pretty neat. It seems to do what MultiMiner does with it's dynamic intensity setting. It keeps the system running great while mining away. Thanks for this utility I will try it out.

I tried the pencil mod on one of my RedFuries and I do not really get anymore than 100mh/s bump. I wonder is there an argument you can use in MultiMiner to overclock with oscillator bits instead of the pencil mod?

See if lightfoot can fix it. He is great with all sorts of board upgrades and repairs. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=336782.0Whelp today I noticed no sound was coming from the office. Turns out my Batch 2 Avalon is giving me a red and yellow light, and was also giving off an electrical burn type smell. I tried installing a new PSU same problem. so then I began unplugging individual modules. Low and behold one of them is the issue. I will be taking pictures of it soon to see if anyone can help. I guess my next question is, Can I NOW run my asic overclocked with the stock PSU with only 2 modules online? Thanks, and please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help figure out the issue. Is there anything I can do to fix this, I can solder I just would need to know what to solder. I've checked out the BOM list, and to be honest I have no Idea what I am looking at http://downloads.canaan-creative.com/hardware/A3256/avalon/2013-11-30/HASH_UNIT/BOM/hash_unit.mdIt looks like the smaller SMD component and the 2 slightly larger ones need to be replaced and possibly the Capacitor. In the mean time can I desolder the pin header that gives it power? Would I need to desolder it's adjoining one as well? Also If I were to do this, Would I need to set my cgminer config miner count to 23/22. Here for FULL SIZE image http://imgur.com/19KQiTnEdit: It appears the pads to solder the components on are completely charred. My question still stands regarding desoldering the pinheaders.

Maybe buy yourself a few things you want and set aside 6 to 12 of them as the price increases. I always accept donations though if you want to give one to me. Seriously though do something with a little bit of them that you really want saving the rest. That way you can enjoy the benefits of having something worth a good amount and also having purchased something you wanted. The sky's the limit with Bitcoin. Enjoy!

Those are generic laptop AC Adapters. I used to order tons of those for the last company worked for. Our mobile users were rough on their laptops.
