Pozdrav,

Pozdrav i dobrodošao u Hrvatsku lokalnu sekciju!  Wink

Sretno!

People trust in those sites even without a license because they are probably fair. If we can verify our bets then we can trust the site.
<cut>

Probably fair? I'm sure you meant provably fairCheesy

The trustworthiness of a casino sites is not necessarily directly related to whether their games are provably fair or not. Rather, trustworthiness is related to their reputation, which is built up over time. A provably fair mechanism may ensure that players are betting on games that are fair, but that does not mean that the casino can't deceive them and refuse to honor their winnings. This is especially true for new casinos that have yet to establish a good reputation in the gambling community. So, it is important for prospective bettors to look at the reputation of the casinos and verify that they have a history of fair play and then check out their games if they are provably fair, or else to avoid dealing with casinos that lack that reputation.

My question is: Is it ok to do this? Im assuming theymos wouldn't care.

In the event that this affects the site's overall performance, theymos will most likely care.

I would like to ask, how big is this website? just to see how long it would take to have an offline database. This site is mostly text, so it shouldn't be a lot, however, there's lots of text, and all images from external url's would be saved too.

Based on LoyceV's information from two years ago, the required storage space for the entire bitcointalk forum is probably somewhere around 60GB, at the moment.

I just wouldn't like to wake up some day and see the site is gone for some reason. There's a lot of stuff to read in here that has been written for 10 year already, so it would be difficult to catch up. Just reading all of satoshi's posts would take a while. And I like to read things from source, so I guarantee nothing was modified. I've seen satoshi misquoted or even modified posts with inspect element.

Two very good archives of bitcointalk posts already exist: LoycV's Loyce.Club and TryNinja's Ninjastic.space. I think you can trust their authenticity.
2284  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: in debt but want to invest. on: August 26, 2022, 06:16:30 PM
right now i’m in debt for $6k but i want to keep DCA. should i focus more on pay my debt down or investing?

The best course of action is probably to repay all your debts before you proceed with new investments, but that can depend on who you owe. Is it a bank or a credit card company? What is the default interest rate on your debt? Are there any repercussions if you don't pay them on time? These are all things to consider. But, generally speaking, repaying all your debts before you move on with your life is preferable.

This morning, I received a notification to my email address about a security incident involving the LastPass password manager. Here is the notice in full
Compromised developer is the problem, but nothing was breached allegedly... sorry but I don't trust them Cheesy
Switch from LastPass to KeePass and you wont' receive any email ever, but you will be only responsible person if you lose your backup and login details.
KeePass is open source and it's available on all operating systems and for AndroidOS (keepassDX), they even accept Bitcoin and other crypto donations.

I can't help but feel the same way. It will be interesting to see what an independent investigation will reveal at the end (of course, if there is one).

Honestly, I have been thinking about alternatives to LastPass for some time. KeePass is a logical choice, but the only thing that's holding me back so far is the fact that I want to use LastPass on multiple platforms. I still have to explore reliable options to do this with a KeePass password manager.
2286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: KYC on Gambling Business on: August 26, 2022, 04:40:29 PM
Is this unavoidable in crypto based casinos? Or are crypto gamblers also required to do KYC? If so, crypto can't be as anonymous as it used to be because we realize that today's governments have gone too far in controlling a person's identity and what they use the internet for.

Yes, unfortunately, the need for a KYC verification is unavoidable. In the future, all regulated casinos will require that you be KYC verified in order to withdraw money. Personally, I do not like the idea that my personal information is in the hands of some authority, who could connect my personal data to my gambling activities, as this would be an invasion of my privacy. I believe that this opinion is shared by many people in crypto community.

And will this trigger crypto-based casinos that use wallet logins to develop better because they don't need to register as usual and only need to connect their wallets to the casino? Or do they also need to do KYC? Or for this type of casino can still be "forced" to do KYC?

Ultimately, it's likely that a combination of both approaches will end up being used. Complete anonymity may be impossible as the centralized casinos and related companies require some level of individual identification to comply with KYC/AML laws. On the other hand, a blockchain-based platform might be able to provide a more private alternative for those who want complete anonymity in their transactions with the casino.

This morning, I received a notification to my email address about a security incident involving the LastPass password manager. Here is the notice in full:

Quote
Dear valued customer,

We are writing to inform you that we recently detected some unusual activity within portions of the LastPass development environment. We have determined that an unauthorized party gained access to portions of the LastPass development environment through a single compromised developer account and took portions of source code and some proprietary LastPass technical information. We have no evidence that this incident involved any access to customer data or encrypted password vaults. Our products and services are operating normally.

In response, we immediately initiated an investigation, deployed containment and mitigation measures, and engaged a leading cybersecurity and forensics firm. While our investigation is ongoing, we have achieved a state of containment, implemented additional enhanced security measures, and see no further evidence of unauthorized activity.

Based on what we have learned and implemented, we are evaluating further mitigation techniques to strengthen our environment. We will continue to update our customers with the transparency they deserve.

We have set up a blog post dedicated to providing more information on this incident: https://blog.lastpass.com/2022/08/notice-of-recent-security-incident/

We thank you for your patience as we work expeditiously to complete our investigation and regret any concerns this may have caused you.

Sincerely,
The Team at LastPass
2288  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: How to buy and sell Bitcoin ? on: August 26, 2022, 10:34:52 AM
I am a digital Monk, and I do have complete knowledge about everything Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency.

I seriously doubt that as your claims lack credibility. You haven't shown much knowledge of the subject so far, so it's hard for me to believe what you're saying. I think your comments are misguided and don't make much sense.

If I want to buy Bitcoin it is better for me to buy from friends or known person. If I want sell my Bitcoin, it is better for me to sell it from my own wallet to some one who want buy it, instead transferring my btc to exchanges to get scammed.

Sending bitcoins to random people on the internet is like a game of Russian roulette, but instead of having one bullet out of six chambers, you only get one empty chamber and five bullets in your gun. You have a high probability of getting scammed.
2289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play Slots? (long sessions / jumper / focussed) on: August 26, 2022, 08:38:57 AM
I've brought up this conversation before and kind of got a lock of flack for suggesting that there might be some legitimate ways to learn how to get an advantage when playing.  It sort of seemed like there's no proof at all that any strategies work, however my buddy and I who've I've been going to casinos with since we were of age, always would play slots after a player had sat on them for hours on end.  Likely zero true advantage here, but it was a strategy that we liked and ended up working a decent bit.

There are a lot of myths associated with playing slots, and this is one of them. These myths can prove to be very costly if you let them influence your decisions while playing. There's actually no truth to this bit of slot machine wisdom. In other words: if you want to take someone's seat at a slot machine that they've been playing at a while, you won't make any more money than you would otherwise. The math behind gambling is pretty complicated, especially because slot machines have a random number generator at their core. Therefore, there's no way for anyone to pinpoint exactly which slot machine will pay out the most in a certain time period or under certain circumstances.
2290  Economy / Gambling / Re: The latest cryptocurrency gambling on: August 25, 2022, 10:06:22 PM
There is a game that I would like to know if it can only be put in a casino, it is to put a game like the ones in a Chinese casino, which have very strange games, and they look fun, also a game that can be put is that of an airplane simulator, that This game would be for those who have a lot of knowledge, but the simulators should be for risky situations, such as possible falls, would that be possible?

I think you are confusing games that are intended for pure entertainment and games that are intended for casino (gambling). Although almost any type of game (including simulators) can be placed in a casino, not every type of game is equally suitable for gambling. Just as a gambling machine (such as a slot) is not suitable for serious gamers, a simulation game is not suitable for gambling.

The best games for casino are those that provide an element of chance to the game. This can be done in many ways, but it is important that there be some randomness involved. Some games are more suitable for gambling than others, for example, chess is not a good candidate because there are no random events in the game. The more complex the game, the less likely it is to be suited for gambling. This is because complex games take longer to learn and play than simple games, which makes them less attractive to players who want a quick fix of entertainment. The game must also be entertaining enough so that players will want to come back and play again. If a game is too boring or repetitive, players will quickly lose interest in it.

<snip>
KYC has been major concern in the crypto space because people want to be anonymous so they were playing in this crypto world but then under the AML policies and all that stuff KYC was implemented <>
KYC is implemented much broader in today's settings. This is because these entities (crypto casinos) do wants to get licensed,  hence it will be regulated by a governing body, another domino effect is the KYC implementation. I must say that now I have more trust on casinos that has legitimate license than those that do not own any. You can't chase and lawsuit those casinos which you do not even know if ever you will be in the scenario in which you haven't paid, fooled, cheated, etc.

While there is a certainly a lot of debate over the benefits and downsides of governmental tracking of personal information such as names, addresses, etc. (particularly in terms of its implications for user privacy), the need for KYC must be balanced against the right to privacy. As such, it's important to ensure that KYC regulations are as minimal as possible while still providing enough data for financial institutions to effectively do their jobs. In the case of cryptocurrency casinos, the companies are required to verify user's identities in order to comply with KYC/AML laws. However, there is a growing demand for more privacy-oriented casinos that do not require any personal information from their users.

Ultimately, it's likely going to end up being a mix of both. Complete anonymity may be impossible in the near future as cryptocurrency casinos and other related companies require some degree of individual identification in order to comply with KYC/AML laws. On the other hand, a more private-oriented casino run on blockchain technology might be able to provide an alternative for those who feel strongly about privacy.

And as far as license goes, (I'm going to be honest that I'm not familiar with it), they have the same, Stake and Punt.

Quote
operates under License No. 8048/JAZ issued to Antillephone
As you have said it, you have no idea about the license of the casin. "Curacao Antillephone N.V. (8048/JAZ)" is one of the 4 master license operator Curacao. There are numerous casino under the "Curacao Antillephone N.V. (8048/JAZ)". Medium Rare N.V. is the unique license operator of Stake. Tiger Ridge Group N.V. is the unique license operator of Punt.com.

That's right. Things are not so simple when it comes to Curacao iGaming Licenses. As you said, since 1996 there are four master license holders who sublicense many casino brands:

  • Curacao eGaming — 1668/JAZ
  • Antillephone — 8048/JAZ
  • Gaming Curacao — 365/JAZ
  • e-Management N.V. — 5536/JAZ

The Curacao master license allows the holder to issue sublicenses directly to operators, or through an intermediary who supplies white-labeled software to third parties, and all of these companies work independently. This is why many online casinos show the same license number on their websites.
2293  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto Gambling Review Site on: August 25, 2022, 10:22:31 AM
but it is always not a good idea in listening to those who spend reviews because it is a bias way of advertising those sites as we have seen multiple times that scam sites are being broadcasted and being push with those reviews but it is not a so trust worthy way.

Many years of practice of working with unreliable information taught me to learn many nuances by reading all sorts of reviews.  I think that many of you, reading reviews of gambling sites, also perfectly understand where the author embellishes reality.
I think that you just need to filter a lot of the data from the review based on your experience and then you get a more objective picture of the gambling site,

Yes, I agree, it can be difficult to find a gambling site that meets your needs. No one article can cover everything you need to know to make an impartial and objective assessment of a certain gambling site. I think a lot of people don't put in the time and effort to really get into the details of casino sites, but reviewing other people's reviews can be an easy way to learn what some of the nuances are. But only use these reviews as a guide to help you decide which gambling site is best for you. That said, whatever you do, make sure to use your best judgement when choosing a gambling site.
2294  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: preev.net - what it should have and how it should look? on: August 24, 2022, 03:02:28 PM
@examplens, you made a very good decision in acquiring the domain. Congratulations!

It would be best to keep the site as simple as possible and I think the old preev.com design was good enough.
There is no need for more than three sources to calculate the price, imo. As for available currencies, I would limit to top 5 or top 10 for the front page. You can, for example, create a secondary page for a larger selection of currencies. The same applies for the historical price feature.

Afaik this casino template is a generic UI. Anyone can copy it because there’s no patent that forbidding others to use it. Afaik

Copyright, trademark and patent are all intellectual property protections, but they are by no means the same thing. For example, unlike a patent, a copyright generally protects the expression of an idea rather than the idea itself.

2297  Economy / Gambling / Re: Punt.com 🦵💸 | Crypto's Finest Casino | 0% Commission PvP Dice Duels 🚀 🎰 🔥 on: August 24, 2022, 10:20:23 AM
Oh, what a coincidence! This website does look basically like a replica of the Stake.com website.

@Punt.com, why bother doing something like this? I'm sure you could come up with something better than just copying other sites. I mean, it's ok if you want to be another Stake, but at least make it look better. I can understand that you are probably just trying to save money and get the job done as quickly as possible. But if you think about it, there's a lot more to consider when designing your site than just saving money or time. It's about being bold and memorable. Because let's face it, there's enough boring stuff in this world already. Your website's design could make or break its success, as people are more likely to return to sites that catch their attention and are appealing in some way.

The bottom line is that you should work hard to stand out from the crowd. Even if you're inspired by Stake, you shouldn't just copy their website design. The design doesn't have to be completely different, but adding something unique will help you find your own audience.

Anyway, I hope you will take this as constructive criticism and welcome to the forum.
2298  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: August 24, 2022, 08:32:12 AM
Here is a list of those site where the internal exchange is available now: (LIST) Gambling sites with internal exchange.
Anyway, TXT and VITA isn't available at sportbet.one. They have SBET coin on their site.
I like having this internal exchanges in casino and I don't know why more websites are not supporting this option.
Maybe it has to do something with regulations because they don't have license for doing exchange work so they don't want risk having more problems, or it just adds more complications.
People could complain that rate was wrong, or they choose wrong coins, that is more extra work for support.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the regulators, but having an in-house exchange certainly adds a new level of complication for the casino. One of probably the biggest problems is maintaining liquidity across all wallets, which can ultimately affect their available bankroll. Imagine a situation where many players are constantly depositing and gambling in one currency, but all withdrawals are made in another currency. The casino would have a hard time keeping both of their wallets topped up all the time.

Zahvaljujem Pmalek za sirenje informacije o preev.net stranici

Yes. All three brands, Bitcasino, Sportsbet and Livecasino, are from the same owner. They work as independent casinos, have different promotions, offers and prizes, but are owned and operated by the same company, Moon Technologies B.V.
