2281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and Bitcoin began to be known by the rural community on: August 27, 2022, 03:08:57 PM

I look at this and what I see is how branding and branded materials is having a positive effect regarding increasing the popularity of bitcoins. As you took note of the inscription on the shirt likewise others who have taken note of it as well. It is good thing that regardless of government policies they do not affect wearing branded materials. Noticing that there is need to play a part, I advice OP that if possibly you take it upon yourself to maybe give out more materials branded with bitcoins. It could go a long way regardless of any limitations the government in your place has set.

Why Gambling sites don't offer betting on bitcoin price ?
Like whether bitcoin will go up next hour or go down and stuff like these?
I guess you didn't know there where gambling sites with such options because it is not a common option amongst gambling sites. All gambling sites have their freedom of options to choose which games or things people can bet on on their platform, there is no fixed rule that all betting sites must feature the same things, hence the reason why only a few of them eg "freebitco.in" feature betting on bitcoin price.
2283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are your favorite dealers ? on: August 27, 2022, 11:21:37 AM
Correct me if I am wrong, but are casino dealers not features of offline casino? are there any need for Casino dealers in online casinos when the functions which casino dealers perform which include; Monitoring the gambling table to ensure that rules are followed and the winner determined has become automated?

Sometimes online live casino games are boring...
IMO, An online live casino will be boring if it has a poor UI design and unentertaining sound track, It will not offer satisfaction and a good experience.
2284  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: August 26, 2022, 06:07:27 PM
New Topic : The return of Colonialism and Colonial Mentality.

Will American or British Politicians under any reason travel to Nigeria or any other country to hold meetings on issues concerning their countries?
I personally don't see any big deal with them holding their meeting in London or any other place they choose, and there's no need to compare the activities of our politicians with those politicians in America and Britain, e be like "white man mentality" to me like say we must always compare our actions with their own for validation. The main issue of concern for me is the details and wetin dem resolve for the meeting. If you observe the picture wey Obasanjo dey, you go see say Atiku nor show face for there regardless of say e dey the same london and na OBJ former vice. E dey do me like say OBJ and am still dey get problem.
2285  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having different perspectives on: August 26, 2022, 05:50:26 PM
It's quite a story that you have put together OP,
let this story help us to bear in mind the significance of going an additional mile in all our efforts in the forum.
In other words, You should be very expressive, see every topic you want to contribute to as an opportunity to express yourself fully and make your views and perspective known, don't spare us any detail that you think will be of importance or benefit to someone on the forum. This also means that you shouldn't flood the forum with plenty unnecessary discussions/details in your post just because I said you should be expressive, take note of the key phrase I used, ''your details have to be of benefit or importance to someone''.
2286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 26, 2022, 04:43:28 PM
Considering Asensio plays as a striker with Real Madrid, the chances for Asensio to get a place at Manchester United are very slim, Manchester United have Anthony Martial on the bench, there is also Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and last Anthony Elanga.
Anthony Elanga who had a great performance in their last game against Liverpool has attracted interest from Everton who may need him from manchester united on a loan deal. IMO, I think it will be a beneficial move for Elanga's career because Everton are in dire need of a striker and he will have enough playing time, plus with Manchester United also closing in on signing Anthony from Ajax before the end of the transfer season.
2287  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Curious Question About Making First or Second Page on a Thread on: August 26, 2022, 05:52:02 AM
Personally, apart from Mega thread about football in the gambling section that I contribute to a few times in a week and our local section, I usually like to express myself in the first page mostly and then the second or third if I don't see it on time, my reason being that I like my contribution to a topic to be read, and mostly I think someone going through a topic looking to gain something often may just have the stamina to read through the first three pages before they start skimming (skim reading).
2288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Qualifying on: August 26, 2022, 05:17:59 AM

That moment when you see Barcelona playing again with Bayern Munich and you forgot you are in camera Tongue
Group C is literally a death trap for Plzen. Inter - Barcelona will have thought time qualifying in a group containing Bayern.
This is the champions league, to underrate any team even the teams that didn't do so well in the last season will be a mess up on your part. Barcelona against Bayern? Bayern looks better at the moment to win, but with a few more games for the new and improved  Barcelona team to find their rhythm and stable down the crisis surrounding the club, and they will both be equally matched.

In the other groups, we can guess which teams will qualify.
Some teams you don't expect will pull up shocking performance, just as we saw how Real Madrid's journey to the final last season was tedious but prepared them properly, s also, teams that will find themselves in difficult groups should not be written off.
2289  Economy / Economics / Re: How Flexible Are You With Pricing Options? on: August 24, 2022, 10:14:24 PM
Good topic OP, would have been better if you expressed yourself much more with maybe an example of what you mean exactly and the point you are trying to hit. IMO, a simple example can go a long way in aiding readers to easily grasp the point of a discussion, and  not misinterpret it.

...customers and sellers can get together and try to discuss prices, to either lower it or push it up from an original price.
I think the discussion mostly between customers and sellers of product usually involves intense negotiation on price reduction and not increment.
2290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Employers Screen Applicants for Problem Gambling Before Employment? on: August 24, 2022, 06:37:24 PM
I'd like to know your thoughts -  Do you think that employers should screen potential employees for problem gambling before employment?
I think it is very important that you take that assessment of a potential employee before he/she is given a job, the motive should not be  to completely penalize him/her but to understand if they are suitable for the position especially if it is a position regarding management of finance. People with gambling problems can be suitable for other positions that don't involve money, but never positions that involve money.
2291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Mutual Funds: Where Should We Invest? on: August 24, 2022, 11:33:57 AM
There's this thing called diversification, whereas you can pick your own allocation percentages depending on how risky or how safe you want to be with your investments. It's not one or the other when picking investments; it can be both, or even more than 5 assets (assuming you know what you're doing).
Exactly, there are no hard cut rules that say if you invest in bitcoin, you shouldn't invest in another, or that you can only hold one investment at a time. If an investment is considered safe and you have the finance to accommodate it, nothing stops you from investing there as well. Diversification of investment can be profitable if one is aware of what they are doing, but it can also be the downfall of an investor if he is not careful, or does not have proper knowledge before diversifying.
2292  Economy / Economics / Re: Thought: how far can you go in a career without going against your principles on: August 24, 2022, 06:41:25 AM
...there are many educated and smart people who aren't at key positions on their local societies. Quite the opposite, they live on the edges of society, despite the fact they are educationally qualified and decent people.
There are many other important skills needed that can get you to key positions and not necessarily only your educational qualification or you being smart. You can find people even less qualified for some key positions that are given the Job because of Networking, having good friends and the ability to learn quickly and catch up.

You have to be socially active and friendly. Having good friends can be a game changer you know, good friends who are very connected even without your knowledge can refer for job positions just because they want to help you, and they have also seen that you have the second skill set that I will highlight next.

Your ability to learn determines a lot. If you can learn quickly, you are a good candidate for a job that you have been referred for even if you are not exactly educationally qualified for it.

2293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling schools importance on: August 23, 2022, 03:00:58 PM
But I never heard of gambling schools to train the people.
There are gambling schools that train people on not just exactly to gamble, but the business principles surrounding gambling casinos which involves customer relations, casino security consulting, table game dealer, hospitality etc.

Do you think we need gambling schools to prepare people for gamble?
If the intention for attending gambling school is just to attain some sort of professionalism that ensures you cannot loose, I'm sorry to say, but gambling schools although they can contribute greatly to your knowledge of a game, they do not assure winning and determine if you will become a regular winner in the casino whenever you gamble.
2294  Economy / Economics / Re: Asset and liability, one key factor for poverty among most Africans on: August 23, 2022, 02:19:10 PM
Most Africans especially Nigerians prefer liability to asset.
This is just an assumption, you can't speak for all Africans especially Nigerians, especially since you cannot tell all our preferences exactly. If you make this claim, you should have at least attached a source for your data.

Asset or liability?
The debate between what exactly we can call an Asset and Liability will continue for a while as I believe that some things that some people may consider as liabilities may be assets to other persons, it all depends on usage IMO. A car for instance which may be considered a liability to some, can be a asset to a business person who uses it to facilitate their business in form of logistics or transport services to bring profit, which is also in line of what an asset is.

I'm not saying buying expensive phones and cars isn't good but shouldn't be priority over ones investment. Phones and cars maintenance in some countries are expensive.
You spend majorly on maintenance and repairs when you buy a fairly used or not too good item, in this case a phone or a car. If you can get a good one in very good working condition, it will be a while before you talk maintenance and repair, it would have served you already a lot and possibly made you some good returns already.

2295  Economy / Gambling discussion / How would you prefer your casino reward? on: August 23, 2022, 01:49:15 PM
Quick question, on your first visit to a casino to play slots, you were offered a bonus reward as incentive for visiting, if you are given the option to either receive your rewards in form of free spins for you to try out your luck and maybe win more, or direct cash reward, which will you choose?
2296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this true or not? on: August 23, 2022, 01:09:21 PM
Bitcoin won't hedge inflation until it hits 1B wallets
Everyone has a mark they expect bitcoin to reach before they begin to see it as a possible hedge against inflation, but choosing to see it as one or not has not stopped it from acting as a hedge against inflation.

Bitcoin was less than $1 before, it got to $10, $100, $1000, $10000 and reach all-time-time of $69000 last year, now at $21300. Is that not an hedge against inflation? Bitcoin is highly volatile, but those that hold it for long see it as a hedge against inflation.
I agree with you somehow. I think many people fail to agree with this because it is unexpected and because bitcoin is still considered unreliable to them they fail to regard it as a possible hedge against inflation. Like I mentioned that people say things based on opinion, you will get to find out that these opinions are not the same amongst everyone, so as some say bitcoin is not a hedge against inflation yet or will ever be, some other experts have gone ahead to endorse it as one of the possible hedge against inflation.

2297  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation will remain below 20 per cent by year end on: August 22, 2022, 11:01:44 PM
Concern over fast-rising prices has taken a new turn in the past few months with the consumer price index (CPI) hitting 18.6 per cent in June.
We are in august (currently) and the reference should be the previous month IMO which is July, and the inflation rate as at July 2022 was put at an incremented figure of 19.64% by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), higher than that of June.

Adedipe admits that there are enormous local and international challenges most of which are positively correlated, but he is confident that the country will end the year with less than a 20 per cent inflation rate.
First, I don't seem to be reassured by his words, the reality remains that the figures are going up and it may exceed the highest Nigeria has seen which was in September 2005 where inflation rate was 24.32%. Both the global and domestic factors that have driven the inflation rate high are still in play, and until something happens about them, I think the figures will keep going up.

My concern is the effect the rising inflation and cost of living is having on the society. The rate of robbery, kidnapping, ritual killing and all sorts of criminal activities has increased. There is general insecurity. The government has to do better, else the reassurance from Dr. ‘Biodun Adedipe  that inflation will remain below 20% will remain just mere wasted words.
2298  Economy / Economics / Re: Consequences and effects of inflation | Financially and Mentally on: August 22, 2022, 10:35:37 PM
Prices of goods are increasing every week
The cost of everything is on the increase and increased inflation rate is not just peculiar to Greece or the Europe, but also Africa even Nigeria. As inflation rate is said to have been recorded by the by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) as 19.64% in July 2022, the highest rate it has been in over a decade. In June 2022, it was 18.6%. You can see that it is on the rise and it prompts me to think what the figures will be in like two months more if the situations continue to progress in this path and manner.

This situation is only worsening; living is constantly becoming more expensive and has started to have psychological effects too.
The thought of if things will ever get better is on its own very stressful.

How are you currently coping?
The price today is not the price in a couple of days, so to avoid being shocked, if it is within your means, buy commodities and things you need in bulk to store if possible, that is what I do.

2300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The first physical business that accepts Bitcoin payments in my area. on: August 22, 2022, 09:48:10 PM
Recently I decided to take a work around my neighborhood since I am on holiday. I have just walked a few distance when I saw an inscription on a particular wine shop. It reads Bitcoin Accepted Here. It was like a dream come true because I have never seen a physical business accepting Bitcoin. I have come across some online, but never seen something like this wine shop in my whole life.
I could have bet that this business was owned by a young person, Your write up confirms it. Just as you were attracted to the shop because of the very bold "bitcoin accepted here" sign you saw, so other young persons who see it as well, will be drawn to want to try. An effect this could have for his business is that it has the potential of increasing his client base as I already highlighted its ability to attract young people especially. It can also drive adoption as other shops in the area noticing this business advantage this shop has over them which is accepting bitcoin, they may be forced to look into integrating it into their payment system as well.
