2281  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: investing for beginners must be large capital or small capital. on: February 15, 2023, 09:00:39 PM
I am a beginner in bitcoin and crypto, I want to ask all of you, do you have to invest in crypto with small capital or large capital?
It would be crazy of me to delve into a business am just going into newly with a large capital that's a blind decision to start with. You have to start with a little for a beginner studying the market and all the risk that be with an amount you're ready to deal with in case of a loss. As a huge loss from the start can be really devasting and discouraging as a beginner.
2282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it risky to invest in new crypto coins/tokens on: February 15, 2023, 06:23:40 PM
These days many new crypto coins and tokens are being introduced  and It makes a very difficult decision for the investor to choose which coins or tokens should they invest to make some good profit. Many of the new cryptocurrency makes a good pump in their starting days and after on, they dump in a very dramatic way.

Investing in altcoins demands extra carefulness than you would need with bitcoin, if you must take the risk of investing in any altcoin of which I don't subscribe to, still if you must then it's pertinent you do a broad research about such a coin how long has it being in the market, study how it pumps and it's volatility rate. Many persons invest in new crypto coin because of how high it pumps so quickly immediately within the very period it surfaces into the market and those that a wise enough pulls out immediately after the very first pump only for those that came in late to suffer the dump in their unending expectation for another impossible pump. How sadden.
2283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Choosing between your relationship and gambling. on: February 15, 2023, 04:37:00 PM
There's currently a heated issue between an older cousin of mine and his fiancee, it's a gambling related issue that's now looking like a threat to their relationship. Here's what happened;

My cousin as I know has been an active gambler for as long as I could remember and he's one person that gamble responsibly as he takes it as something that's part of a side hustling and nothing more and he added that the winning streaks he has been getting has really been supportive to him financially too. I get to know this cause that's what he told me when I asked him why does he have to engage in online gambling when he has a good paying job. The disturbing issue here is that a day ago his fiancee whom both have been dating for about a year now, she for the first time had access into his mail and discovered lots of email messages both previous and current from the particular gambling sites he has a gambling account with and her awareness of this has made her to ask my cousin to either chose between quiting from engaging in any form of gambling or ending their relationship.
Her reasons is because she has this brother that's into gambling and his gambling habit has led to him selling off important properties of his and some that belongs to the whole family just to meet up with his uncontrollable gambling urge. And this experience scares her to death having anything to do with anyone she notice that engages in gambles activities especially for someone she's in a serious relationship with, that she can't deal with such reality.

I'll really appreciate to have you share some advise on what decision to take if you were to find yourself in this my cousin shoe. For It's been a difficult moment for him this past two days as he has  been thinking of the financial support he at times get from the gambling wins and at same time his fiancee too.

2285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 14, 2023, 09:30:25 PM
First half was a huge disappointment. PSG don't even have a real dangerous attack whole half. Bayern had some unsuccessful shots. I hope second half will be better. Teams play carefully, both teams don't want to concede a goal. PSG need to score at home though, or second leg will be harder for them. Mbappe will play in second half, that should change the way how things work for PSG. Neymar and Messi were ineffective.
@53 minutes Coman has just changed the game with his super touch kick from the crossing of Davies K,  and Bayern are still pressing in the game not playing like a visiting team at all. PSG  need to change their tactics as it's leading to much pressure around it's defensive line.
I won't be surprised this game ends 0:2 in favour of Bayern
2286  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ego and too much confidence are dangerous in investing. on: February 14, 2023, 08:57:50 PM
2021 I started my journey here in crypto, I was lucky because I was able to invest in other cryptos before it went all the way up. NFTs, P2E games, airdrops and hyped shitcoins lol. Of course I earned a lot and since it's my first time I became very confident thinking I'm so smart lol Grin. I have more money to spare, so I end up investing left and right carelessly thinking i will earn more but the truth is majority of those i have invested are lost money because of bear market, scam projects and rugpulled shitcoins. I think I am not for crypto Sad.
From your story line I didn't see anything connected to ego but ignorance and greed, particularly from someone that's wants it all by all means presented to you.  There was was no attitude or mentality to learn, to do few research about what you were about to get into, all you wanted was just to earn without putting in energy to  first learn. And that was the cause of your careless investment and not that you are not for crypto.
2287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bounty really pay? on: February 14, 2023, 02:42:40 PM
Sometimes I find myself being added to Telegram groups where they are doing bounty campaigns for new coins but at the end of the day, people will start complaining that the project is dead. In most cases I exited from the groups immediately I find myself there because I feel they are prone to defrauding people.
This makes me to wonder if bounties really pay.
By saying really pays, yes it does but it's not always the case from the testimonies of others I have heard from that have participated in bounties, even when they get paid they mostly get short paid with after a long wait.
For me bounty it's a pure waste of time for anyone that wants to grow themselves resourcefully here in the forum. But it all depends on what you seek anyway!
2288  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Electronic devices that can detect wrong wallet on: February 14, 2023, 02:35:03 PM
Even with such a device that can be able to identify bitcoin address,  alternatively the use of (segwit)   bech32 address for bitcoin it's easier to identify as a bitcoin address since there's no other network address that starts with bc1 except for bitcoin only.
For it seems the traditional BTC address  can be easily confused with another network address in the case of bug compared to segwit.
2289  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: With the right vote, could Nigeria be next? on: February 13, 2023, 09:42:43 PM
This goes a long way to vindicate the heated argument that African countries number one sociopolitical and economic problem is that of leadership and not natural the availability of natural resources as our natural ambient is greatly enriched with every natural resources needed to pull out a nation from the shackles of tattered and battered economy. All that's lacking is nothing but good leaders in position of public offices. I hope someday Nigerians can get it right by jettisoning every religious, ethnic and political affiliation and vote in the needed and capable man for the job needed to be done to make Nigeria and Nigerians great again.
2290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn from a brother's mistake on: February 13, 2023, 09:13:33 PM
A minute of silence for all Alliance Block investors...i have a brother who invested in this altcoin, hoping to hold till the next bull market, unfortunately the unexpected happened, now all the money is gone before he realized what's going on.

What lesson could be learned from this?

If you are a altcoin investor, do not keep all your eggs in one basket, if you believe in an altcoin, make sure it's not the only one, in fact, the more coins you have in your portfolio the lesser the risk, because not all the coins will go bad or get hacked, if one out of 5 or 10 become successful, 6x to , 10x or more, you've made back your ROI and still have some gains.

Also, I prefer projects from the Binance launch pad because binance don't just list any projects, 85% of all projects that used Binance launchpads are successful.

Alliance Block market cap is very low, projects with very low market cap are called degen by many and they are very risky, remember Gala games? It was hacked and all tokens were reimbursed, if Gala was a very small project I don't think they will do the reimbursement.

It still doesn't makes the project an 100% assurance all because it was launch through binance pad, they can still fail to meet up expectations and crash out.  The best is to never invest a huge amount into any altcoins and don't let your investment stay too long too, as some of these projects from the initial weren't built to last a longer period as against our long term intentions.
2291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 13, 2023, 05:37:55 PM
Additionally one of the things that creates compulsive gambling is the mentality of some gamblers believing that they could get rich through gambling and this believe system push them to occupy their mindset with gambling thoughts or strategies on how to make big and better wins which end up making them obsessed with it that it tears them apart at every loss.
2292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin can help all nations. on: February 13, 2023, 05:22:12 PM
Bitcoin can help all nations: El Salvador able to pay back an $800M bond because investment in BTC brought money to the country. El Salvador has completed payments of its $800 million outstanding bond following concerns that it could default due to its decision of making Bitcoin a legal tender.
Regardless, the country still owes $367 million plus interest on an $800 million bond due to mature in 2025. Despite all of these progress made by the El Salvador government in their decision to invest in and adopt bitcoin as a legal tender in there country, still the international monetary fund can help but keep making discouraging warning statements to make El Salvador to make a U-turn in their financial policy on bitcoin.

IMF issues another warning to El Salvador on its Bitcoin decisions:
The country has been very certain about its decision to integrate Bitcoin into its financial sector. However, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) keeps issuing warnings. After a recent visit of IMF staff in the country, they observed that the Bitcoin risk to the country has not materialized yet. This is said to be due to its limited use of the decentralized asset.
  https://www.crypto-news-flash.com/bitcoin-can-help-all-nations-el-salvador-able-to-pay-back-an-800m-bond-because-investment-in-btc-brought-money-to-the-country/

IMF is an international financial organization of which I believe are only driven to render financial assistance to nations whose economic policies  are in alignment with theirs, and its no news that the IMF as an organization is not unconnected to centralized authority system.  Whereas bitcoin is a decentralized currency of which it's operational pattern doesn't conform to central government influence and interference, and so I wonder, could it be due to these factors that the IMF in bent on giving out warnings to the El Salvador government against their acceptance of bitcoin into their financial sector and heavily investing on it but rather doing so under the pretext of supposed risk that El Salvador decision might pose to it's economy?

Op have you read the post yourself? Why not try to read some of those post I am sure you would be Able to make something out of them and then make a more self researched post.

Newbies this act of stating what’s obvious and taking links to thread for your compilation does you no good, it’s easy and very unproductive to your growth.
Probably true what you're implying but there's no way anyone can digest all of these within a short time even if he's giving the time to read and we can't definitely agree that OP may not be reading what he's posting out here too. It could be OP is just someone that in mind wants to showcase to others that share in same rank as him certain informations and materials he has come across in the forum so we can't really say he's not reading it too to add to he's own knowledge.
While on the other hand I may agree with you  that there are some who just act in this way just to phish attention and merit.
2295  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: February 12, 2023, 07:53:32 PM
It's never advisable to invest on bitcoin with loan money, investing on bitcoin is like taking a journey that you have no idea of where it's leading to but you just take it anyway and that's the more reasons it doesn't have to be a loan money. Even if it's your own personal money it should be what you're okay to go with if it didn't go as planned .
2296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and it effect to our local community on: February 12, 2023, 10:02:29 AM
I would love us to share this idea, I have it in mind to introduce Bitcoin to the people around me, but I wish to ask, how do I go about it,

Do you think it will be of advantage or disadvantage to my community?
How to go about it, I'll say after which you explain to those at your reach about bitcoin, also introduce to them Bitcointalk forum and assist them on how to join the forum as I believe that their membership here would help fast track and widen their scope about what BTC is all about as they read posts and comments that provides all that's needed to guide them for a beginner in crypto entirely, and this can even lessen your burden too.
2297  Economy / Speculation / Re: does the increasing number of altcoins have a negative impact on the price btc on: February 12, 2023, 09:49:12 AM
I'm still a beginner in crypto, as we know from time to time the number of altcoins is increasing, but I want to ask,
will the increasing number of altcoins affect the price of bitcoin,?

but in my opinion it will not affect the price of bitcoin, even though the number of altcoins is increasing.
OP like you rightly said, the increasing numbers of altcoins on daily basis has no atom of effect on BTC not to speak of one that's negative. On the contrary  it's BTC price that  does affect and has influence on the performance of most of these altcoins, when BTC price rises those altcoins follow suit, same with when it falls.
Altcoins can't be compared with BTC in terms of value through the test of time, as these altcoins just flash into the market and disappear within a very short time and that's unlike bitcoin.

2300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 11, 2023, 05:57:04 PM
Let's not dwell too much on the disappointment of Chelsea's performance, perhaps it was a deserved result for Chelsea since Graham Potter became Tuchel's successor.
Potter's record track has only been able to make Brighton a mid-table team in the two seasons since he was handled from 2019 to 2022.

It could be that Graham Potter's dismissal as a solution behind Chelsea's poor record so far but the appointment of his replacement if not properly carried out by Boehly will also not be much different from the current results.
Which makes me ask why Potter didn't dare to bring in Fofana and pull out Havertz who didn't look at all optimal earlier.
I think Graham Potter failed in coaching Chelsea. Make no mistake Chelsea have spent lavishly in the January transfer window. They have however failed to win any of their two games since then.

Graham Potter was so out of his depth it was so sad. Only 3 wins in 10 domestic matches and 6 goals. No wins in 10 games against top 10. Chelsea's performance has no character because the coach cannot maximize the abilities of the players.

But Chelsea's current problem is not with the team but with the coach. From the beginning of Graham Potter's appointment as Chelsea coach, I have surmised that Chelsea's performance will not change as expected. I even think Boehly has made the wrong decision at the beginning he acquired the Blues by sacking Tuchel.
This has been my worries since the inception of Potter as Chelsea manager, like the job is too way beyond his capacity based on the level of the club. At first it was like the lack of needed players were the problem behind the losses Chelsea was having even against smaller teams but even with the great players signed to the team Potter is yet to win a game in a superb way befitting of a team that has spent such huge amount of cash in the last window transfer.
