Daily dividend of 0.27101125 BTC paid.

Motion to request a refund from BTCFPGA for order #1345:

710 yay 155 nay. Refund requested.

This was posted today by Tom:

Dear Friends, Lovers, and Enemies,

First off. Sorry for the scare. and believe me it was a SCARE - we had to refund over 200k and we were happy to do it because we claimed from day one that we will honor any refurequest until we go into production and we meant it. And  As crazy as fuck as it is to say so , we will sill honor it. We took multiple 20k+ refunds left and right without batting and eye lash because we believe in this project and we know we will be releasing our bASIC Bitcoin mining units sooner than everyone else, especially our good friends BFL.

Love us or hate us, I have some good friends who are original Bitcoin "old money" and they gave us the additional funding we need to finish the chip fab / packaging and take this thing into production. (THANK GOD!)

we WILL be shipping bASIC bitcoin mining devices in March 2013 and I am willing to put my own money against anyone who says otherwise.

The Design is done baby. The chips will be state-side as soon as Chinese New Year is over and for those who could not stomach the wait I don't blame you but I'm sorry to say you lost you place in line my friends.

March may seem a long time away as we all have ASIC blue balls right now, but its really not that far away, and I salute and congratulate all of you who have had the testicular fortitude to stick it out with us because you my friends will receive the ultimate reward. Sure Avalon may get some units out before the Chinese new year but that is sure to be a very limited number. On the other hand our assembly house has an unlimited assembly capacity and as soon as the Chinese new year ends we will have 16,000 freshly fabbed and packaged ASIC chips and we will be assembling those PCB's at FULL CAPACITY !We will be shipping ALL CURRENT ORDERS IN THE MONTH OF MARCH AND WE STILL HAVE ROOM FOR MORE ORDERS SO Get IN WHILE YOU STILL CAN! I stake my personal name and word on that. So hold on tight my friends because its going to be a wild ride in the month of March.

Now Let's Get ready to mine some serious coins
your friend always "cablepair"

Hopefully the bASIC project is back on track and we can look forward to some concrete results upon which we can base our purchasing decisions between now and March. Competition is a good thing.

Coinbase works a treat if you don't mind linking your bank account.
2283  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW TO SECURELY BUY/SELL BTC LOCALLY? on: January 18, 2013, 06:23:36 AM
I've had someone monitor my BTC wallet and text me after the first confirmation when buying. We just sipped coffee and discussed cryptos for 20mins.

Meet in a public place during peak hours. Be obvious about it, you'll be fine.
2284  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC not shipping / change of owership / refunds etc. on: January 17, 2013, 10:04:19 PM
I'm a bASIC pre-order customer replying in a thread about bASIC products.

I post my opinions about BFL in BFL threads because I think such a shady hardware vendor having such a huge market share is alarming, call that trolling if you like. I'll call myself a troll if I decide to post a video of Josh's kids, just don't hold your breath.

Resistance will be at 14.5 from the looks of it.

Uh no. My prom date put up more resistance. What a woman. Smiley
2287  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: It looks like BFL is screwing everyone over! on: January 17, 2013, 08:03:47 PM
I told everyone a looooong ass time ago that their company is famous for not shipping things on time.  Now with ASICs it's 100x more important to pretend to be the first one to ship it.  The first ASIC to come out is the one that'll get all the business.  So I believe they said the end of November 2012 was their ship date just to drive up a crap ton of pre-orders.  It looks like they got at least 80% of all ASIC business in pre-orders at last count.

Now that they've got everyone's money, they're taking as long as it actually takes for a tiny company to design, assemble, test, and write software for a device like that.  They knew they were lying the whole time.  I wish I had a quote from their website in 2012 that basically said that's what they were doing.  It was something like "we've had problems shipping products on time in the past but we'll try our hardest to ship at our anticipated date.  With new technology, blah blah blah, it might not."  Red flag much?  Oh and their CEO is a convicted scam artist so lying to people on the internet isn't exactly hard for him.

+1

Don't forget their "honest abe" faq. What a bunch of bs artists.

Pick on Tom all you want, I certainly don't care. If he cares he'll probably show up and put you in your place...again. I just think it's in bad taste to diss the man's wife.

Grown the fck up. Gee... Its the internet, ppl can make fun of your mom.

Precisely my point. People say stupid shit like this BECAUSE they expect to be protected by anonymity. Think the drag queen MeSarah would be bashing on Tom's wife if he was standing next to him? Uh no. Just another coward.

Agreed. Carnth has been very professional about this startup, very encouraging.

I've purchased a Sapphire 7770 to add to the company GPU farm. While it's not the most muscular card it is inexpensive($108) and efficient so it should remain profitable for some time. I do not yet have a date that it will be online and hashing for us, but I would expect to have it integrated by this time next week.
2291  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Development Status [Batch #1] on: January 17, 2013, 08:12:56 AM
I personally believe that there is a greater than 80% chance that Avalon will become the next failed Bitcion ASIC producer.

Time will tell. They certainly have a very long way to go to match BFL's incredible level of FAIL.

I agree with you guys, but in the end it may not matter all that much. The latest information on bitcoinasic.net was that batches 1 & 2 would ship together and with all the cancellations there's probably little to gain by standing in line anyway. I still think bASIC01 is the best ASIC product on paper and would prefer a bulk purchase, but if it's not meant to be then we'll just watch our BTC stash grow while we figure out who's going to ship what and when.

With the most recent sale of shares and the increase in BTC relative to USDs the treasury currently has enough to fund four bASIC01s if/when they become available, so with the current order we could have up to five units. We'll just have to see how this plays out. Dave mentioned a Friday update to buyout discussions, so hopefully we'll know more soon.

Daily dividend of 0.26408575 BTC paid with 1147 shares outstanding.

All GPUs will be shifted back to BTC mining following the LTC retarget in a few hours.
2295  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: January 16, 2013, 08:59:25 PM
The fee is reasonable IMO, given the additional homework management will be required to do on mining companies outside of BTC-TC.

As a small investor I'd be more interested in your fund prior to ASICs being released to potentially give me some exposure to mining companies and vendors I'm unwilling to commit relatively large sums to. I'd hope anyone investing in a mining ETF would have some inkling of the technological precipice we're currently resting on and understand the associated risks. After ASICs are released I'd be more likely to simply determine which mining companies will enjoy the greatest benefit and invest with them directly.

2298  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Laws on: January 16, 2013, 06:49:18 PM
That's the fabric of a fascist society. More laws = more bloodsucking lawyers, who can then bribe more scumbag politicians to pass more laws, which will require more bloodsucking lawyers. All of this is also great for those that make a living from law enforcement and furthering the ever expanding prison system. Why else would police unions be lobbying to keep drugs from being legalized? How many cops would be out of a job if drugs were legalized?

Big business wins and the little guy gets clobbered with the mallet held by goobermint parasites.
2299  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Days left in your CC chargeback window? on: January 16, 2013, 06:29:58 PM
How would one come by this evidence? Do you think the company's officers are going to hand over incriminating documents if they exist? People will find out the company is on financial quicksand only if/when it implodes, in which case waiting for evidence would be disastrous. That's what common sense and judgment is for.
2300  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Archive] BFL trolling museum on: January 16, 2013, 03:53:59 PM
Nope, since none of us work there. There's a manufacturing company an hour away from me, NSA Industries LLC, that's one of my clients. Can you name two of the engineers that work there?

Adam LaClair
Brian Dennis

See? That wasn't so hard.

That was too easy. Name one redhead. Mongol like redheads.

Marilu Henner! She engineered a lot of high rises back in the day. Smiley
