In my opinion, Bayern Munich set a high price for Lewandowsky as a warning to Manchester City if indeed Lewandowsky is not for sale at all, it certainly looks ridiculous if Manchester City bought Lewandowsky for £100 million.
Even though Lewandowsky is the best striker in the world he certainly doesn't deserve such a high price for his age and of course Manchester City will not invest 117 million pounds in a player who may only play a few seasons.
Moreover, Bayern Munich currently does not have other players to replace Lewandowsky's position in the front lines, although Bayern Munich still has Mueller, but we know that Mueller is also old and his performances are not very consistent, while Genabry is relatively young and has no experience as a lone striker.
I think with only 11 days left, it looks like Manchester City will be very difficult to get a striker this season, like it or not, Pep Guardianola should be able to make good use of their current players.

Despite their (City's) bad luck in Champions League, they are still favourite in winning CL. They have good squad and giving them a striker like Lewandowski will make the team quite complete. No wonder they are setting up a good price tag for Lewandowski.

Also Mueller getting old is right but I don't see his age affecting his performance though? he is doing a great job at Bayern as second striker IMO. As for Gnabry, he is a winger so yeah it would take time if Nagelsmann chose to play him as striker. Problem with Bayern right now stands with density in the attacking line. Players are getting old and plus they also don't have density. I think they are trying to get in some good chunk of money from Lewandowski sale and use it to buy some players in attack.

Well , it's normal for anyone right now to predict that Arsenal will lose against Chelsea and they might. However, Chelsea is after a very hard season that was extended with both euro and super cup for them so Arsenal might have a chance to score at least once and maybe take 1 points.

Given the performance Arsenal so far have put up, it would be very difficult to find an opening against Chelsea. Though not saying anything for sure but to me seems very hard with three defence, two wing backs, two CDM's - its very defense if you ask me. Arsenal would need a good team game from their mid to attack line to construct some good plays and score some goals. Also in the meantime Arsenal's defense should be alert against Chelsea's attack

Leeds lost badly to Man U and Everton are off to a good start this season... I think both teams will score here and there will be more than 3 goals...

Actually Everton almost slipped when Southampton scored the opener so Everton almost had a scare last week if you ask me . I think things gonna change in this match. Kalvin Phillips was on the bench last match I wonder whether he will play today or not as he is crucial as a central defensive midfielder. I think lot is gonna change down for Leeds in this upcoming match so I don't think it would be easy for Everton to score but well lets see.
2304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 20, 2021, 03:17:58 PM
Southampton on the other hand have lost important players, that really did patch over their vulnerabilities. I actually think they might be in for a battle for relegation this season.

I feel the same feeling as well. Without Ings they are without a proper striker as Ings has been crucial goalscorer for them in back to back seasons. Another important player is Vestergaard who was their main player in central defence. So those are two main players gone from both offense and defense. So yeah feels like Southampton will be in a lot of trouble unless they make some good signings. Armstrong is a good signing as he had a good season in Championship but well lets see how well he does in PL. He scored a goal in earlier match but that wasn't enough for them.

Well, Odegaard is a decent signing for Arsenal - he proved himself on loan last season and it was a smart move to make the deal permanent. The problem with Arsenal though is that they are leading the league in net spend and they did not bring a single player that you look at and say - damn man, wish we have brought him.

120 mil pounds for Odegaard, White and Ramsdale is a whole of a lot of money for a whole of a lot of average - once again.

Arsenal have officially signed odegaard with an initial price of 30 million pounds along with a bonus of 4 million pounds, actually this is a fairly expensive price for a midfielder who doesn't even get a place in the madrid first squad, in my opinion the transfer of odegaard is a form of desperation from arteta who indeed failed to get maddison from leicester city to improve their midfield, while for the transfer of Ben white, I think the price of 50 million pounds is a reasonable price considering his performances in several seasons with Brighton & Hove Albion which is indeed consistent, but the worst thing is the transfer of ramdale In my opinion, is it worth buying a goalkeeper who can't help his team get out of relegation and even he has pretty bad performance stats worth 30 million pounds?  Grin
Bad Decision...!!

Do you know with that Arsenal has spent the most out of all the PL clubs in this transfer window. Odegaard is a great potential signing but also should be utilised well and I think Arteta is gonna use him. He did used him quite well when he was here at loan. But do we need a goalkeeper? Unless Leno leaving soon I don't see a point here.
2306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 20, 2021, 06:54:41 AM
That may or may not happen. If Harry Kane's performances continue to shine, it's not only Man City who will try to sign him, I think many other big clubs will also be interested to sign him. But if Harry Kane's form slumps then the selling price will go down and if Tottenham sticks with their high price, then Harry Kane will find it difficult to leave Tottenham.

In addition, there is also a possibility that Man City will buy another world-class striker, so Man City may not need Harry Kane anymore.

They aren't actually otherwise Spurs wouldn't have much problem in selling Kane to clubs in other league. The fact that City is in same league as them, they are trying hard to get for Kane transfer. City are preparing a bid but lets see if that whether hits the bid mark they are expecting or still want to play it a bit hard.

City are interested in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic and are ready to bid around 80m whom they see as an alternate transfer target for Harry Kane.

When it comes to Leeds vs Everton, I feel like this match can end in a draw with goals. These two teams are both capable of scoring goals easily. I think that Leeds will get ahead two times against Everton but at the end they will get a 2-2 draw. The players who I expect to score are Bamford (2), Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin.

It will be a good test for defense of both teams. Right now given the performance of both teams, Leeds defense might break up before Everton's attack but well let's see. Biesla is nota kind of manager who just sit backs and let the mistake happen over and over again.
2308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 19, 2021, 10:51:01 AM
Haha really? I did not even realize that,,, my best memory is still Moura and Son ripping them apart in Champions League. I still feel painful memories from the final after that that we lost meekly but the semi was so worth it. Nuno is a good tactician but more importantly is how he will manage a squad who is for sure not in the best of morale.

What I said was not true. Kane did played in most of the last H2H against City guess I relayed a false info. (*My bad*) Anyway regarding Nuno I think he is a great manager, somehow I find him similar to Pochetinno who doesn't have much recognition but have played a great part into building teams wherever they managed. I think he will manage Spurs quite well .. atleast better than Mourinho.
2309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 18, 2021, 04:01:26 PM
After the departure of Mesut Ozil, Arsenal no longer have an attacking midfielder who is truly capable of destroying the opposing team defense with such a good pass, although Martin Odengaard is still far from Ozil's quality, but I hope that later Odengaard will be able to make the difference in Arsenal matches, it seems Odegaard is the right alternative now after Arsenal failed to get Maddison from Leicester City in the transfer market this season.

There is actually: Smith-Rowe but he is young but has good talent. Odegaard is also a great talent and is adaptable to many positions in mid so I think Arsenal wants a option which gives them a player with adaptability in mid. It must be hard decision for Odegaard but he has chosen a team where he can find playing chances much more often than in Madrid. What do you think guys about this transfer?

2310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 18, 2021, 12:14:36 PM
Spurs will change from Kane-dependencia to Son-dependencia.

Son is a great counter-attacking player. He has great pace and he is great on wing. But experience wise Kane has much more experience in striker position than Son. Nuno has done a good job utilizing  Son by placing him at tip of the attack but right now Son can do a lot more at that position if he gets experience. It is a new position and right now he is handling that well but I think it might fall apart. So I think it will take some time to go full Son-dependecia.

But I usually I don't like the idea of team dependent on just one player. More goalscorers there are , better for the team
2311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 18, 2021, 10:59:43 AM
But Manchester City couldn't start very well. Tottenham managed to beat City here again, 1-0. They are like City's nightmare.  Grin

This is the fourth away defeat to Spurs that City meets and every time it is a counter strike that gives them away. I know I said it before also though,,, this is just the first game and sometimes the points lie in early season when in fact the teams put out could almost not be the team that later plays most of the season. Villa really will miss Grealish it seems,,,

And I think somewhere I read along was that out of 4 only once was in which Kane played. Very interesting selection from Nuno that day and that paid off. He would be very proud of how his team played. Honestly they could have scored lot more if capitalised on attacks well. There were lot of counters which didn't paid off for them.

Villa has lot of new players and I think it will take a time to adjust. Grealish will be obviously missed but I think Grealish sale has provided them a good money to build their squad.
2312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 17, 2021, 04:07:43 PM
Despite losing I still think that Manchester City will win the league. Their bench is worth over 300 million and their on field players are closer to a billion. No other team in the league can compete with that and they will probably add to their team before the transfer window closes.

What was the Leicester City's squad worth when they won the PL? Money and squad worth doesn't makes a team win PL. Then why play football? Might well just throw money and get the trophy lol. With money and all you can buy a squad to become a favourite to win the league but its just odds and nothing else.

Tuchel is an excellent coach who is doing an excellent job of stabilizing the club and narrowing the distance between the two Manchester clubs, but winning the title this season is not realistic, and the coach is not under any pressure either; perhaps next season, but not this season.

Yeah that's true as well. It takes time to win something but who knows maybe they go on lucky this season.  Cheesy
2313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 17, 2021, 11:59:47 AM
Actually PSG was wrong to sack Tuchel, it was proven that Tuchel managed to give Chelsea the Champions League trophy that PSG really wanted.

Owners really get restless when they are not getting the results they expect. They just want to change things up as quickly as possible instead of giving anyone a further chances. Its not PSG there are many clubs who just quickly go on firing as they get some loss streaks.

Now Tuchel will definitely try to win the Premier League trophy

He should win PL IMO given how he manages the team but don't know for sure as there are other capable teams in PL as well. Also there are underdogs which makes things difficult so its a very tough campaign. x

I also took Astralis here but I am not sure about it. Major roster change made with Lucky coming in for Xyp9x and that is a crucial change and I wonder now if I made the right decision backing Danish up today.
i almost added Astralis to a ticket...dodged a bullet there, i didn't know about Lucky playing today. Debut against Spirit, eh? no pressure, kid  Grin

I also pulled out my bet when they had a good run in the first map in the starting. Lucky did well yesterday and there were some couple of good flicks from him. Well it will not end there as he was brought in to fill device's shoes. Lets see how he adapts in games further.

Team Spirit had some good momentum going on in Dust 2 but they fall apart in remaining matches. Inferno was all Astralis which wasn't that much of a surprise given that is the map where Astralis have very good control. Ancient was bit of toe to toe but Astralis did well to get into a momentum and put it up till the end to win the match.
2315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 17, 2021, 11:02:23 AM
Interesting that Tuchel does not share my judgment. Grin
According to him, winning the Champions League and the European Super Cup are not enough for Chelsea to be considered among the main favorites to win the Premier League.
The Blues' coach in fact believes that, even with the arrival of a goal machine like Lukaku, the Londoners remain a step below other 3-4 formations in his opinion more ready to win the title.
Quote
"I see my Chelsea as the fourth force in the league, so we can't be the favorite to win the championship,"
is the German coach's comment.
Quote
"We have to reduce the gap with the top three. Last year we raised the bar and shortened this distance in every game, we want to do it again this year. The Premier is a tough league, we are the chasers and we need to get closer to Manchester City, United and Liverpool. This is the reality of things,"
said Tuchel with conviction.

I like what Tuchel is thinking there. One shouldn't be happy with the arrival of goal machine like Lukaku and we have yet to see how he performs in PL. We have yet to see if arrival of Lukaku will settle their unavailability of a goal scoring striker for sure. Last year Chelsea under him did well but most of the points were lost under Lampard. Now Tuchel has nothing  binding him down to keep them out of the race. I think they have good chance to win PL in this season and it is impressive to see that he are also thinking highly of his opponents and not undermining them.
2316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 16, 2021, 06:23:25 PM
Arsenal will loss again and again because they not ready with primer league, almost player success got in this season have bad quality except other club success got best star player, maybe many player not happy to accept Arsenal because not play in champion league in this season, they begin loss for the first match and Chelsea waiting for give second loss for Arsenal.

They need a proper defense line. Without it they are vulnerable and we saw how easy it was for Brentford to punish defense for their mistakes. They need a someone with leadership qualities back there also if they need to be in the race. They can get some good quality players if they try to get players who has potential. There are lot of players who are in not a good team but have good potential and are looking to move into a good league.
2317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 16, 2021, 06:04:24 PM
Spirit vs Astralis is interesting odds, 3 maps and bet on Astralis I think presuming they have been doing their due diligence not just winging it.  I really expect them to be the most reliable team for practice etc. so we'll see but they been through some changes so who knows.

I also took Astralis here but I am not sure about it. Major roster change made with Lucky coming in for Xyp9x and that is a crucial change and I wonder now if I made the right decision backing Danish up today.

I am not a fan of roster change and always go down in favour of other team if there is a change in the team. But well let's see..
2318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 16, 2021, 12:26:31 PM
i think Manchester United are the colsest to win the premier league this, and not because of their first big win against Leeds, they have a good balanced team this year, and i think Sancho style of play matches the one that man utd have, and he's a really talented player.
Manchester United have high chances of winning the Premier League this season, they have a strong squad, and the player seems very cooperative. While Pogba contributed to the winning of their first match against Leeds. Bruno Fernandes started the season with an amazing hat trick. Sancho is indeed a talented player, and Manchester United will definitely benefit from him.

I agree that they did well in the first round by beating Leeds with a good score but its just first round and there are 37 rounds more. Anything can happen in the middle of the PL campaign like squad hit with injuries or crucial players hit with bad performance and that could drag a team down whether it be United or Chelsea or any other big clubs. Leeds never had a good defence and United did well to punish them. Biesla wouldn't be happy about that and would take notes to make changes.

United are up against Southampton next week and against Wolves at the end of the month and I expect a perfect 9 points from the Reds. Closest good opponent to face right now is West Ham and that is a match that would be a good initial test for the Reds but until then I expect United to be "flawless".
2319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 15, 2021, 04:23:01 PM
1st half is going to end on Spurs vs Manc. City but I see it as a boring match. No shots on goal so far, Manc City is dominating and Spurs is trying to maximize counter attack but both teams unable to create good chances to score goals. Will the match ended without any goals?

Not entirely a boring match IMO. I can see good selection from Nuno there. Lucas Moura and Bergwijn are making some good runs in counter its just that in the end they are making some decisions that is losing all the momentum. If they capitalize fully on those counters than it might result into goal for Spurs. As for City they need someone in center forward to make runs forward and obviously Ferran Torres is finding it difficult.. maybe switch him for Jesus? For City Fernandinho is doing hell of a job to keep most of Spurs counters on the bay but that IMO that wouldn't hold them long.

I expect second half to be more interesting. Lot of key points would be there to note for both the managers and lot of directions would be made.

https://www.transfermarkt.com/varane-joins-manchester-united-among-10-most-expensive-real-departures/view/news/390978

Raphael Varane has officially joined Manchester United for €40m + €10m possible add-ons. It was not certain that Manchester United were going to sign him this summer. But they managed to finalise the deal with Real Madrid. And Real Madrid did a wise thing by selling him now as he didn't want to extend his contract and he was going to be free agent next summer.

Sad for Real. I wonder why Varane decided to go to the Premier League, did they really offer him much more favorable conditions there? As far as I know, in Real Madrid he was considered as a key player for many years to come and now they had to sell him (though this is a bargain sale since there was only one year of the contract) because of the player's desire.

Well he already said he didn't wanted to extend his contract. He would have gone for free if things stayed like that so I also think Real Madrid good to sell him and get fee out of him. Not sure why he wasn't extending his contract- maybe he wanted a change or lost confidence in team after Ramos and Zidane left? who knows.
