2301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mtgox News on: August 18, 2014, 06:18:54 PM
Yet another asinine thread bumped by a guy with multiple points for the SOLE PURPOSE of getting views/clicks on his shitty ad banner.

arcanum = buzzcoin = OP = Click-fisher for $$$

Does anyone really give a fuck about Mt. Gox anymore? Nope. But people still care about ad money!
2302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is maximum amount of Bitcoin that can be at one wallet? on: August 18, 2014, 06:13:52 PM
Who has the record?
Satoshi Nakamoto, obv
2303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is maximum amount of Bitcoin that can be at one wallet? on: August 18, 2014, 06:12:17 PM
I really want to  ;Dknow about that.
No, you don't. You know there's no maximum and you're just spamming stupid bullshit to get views on your AD BANNER!

Ignored.
2304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia and China vs Bitcoin on: August 18, 2014, 05:08:57 PM
Another noob with an AD BANNER fishing for views/clicks. Onto the ignore list you go.
2305  Economy / Speculation / Re: Volatility and Psychology on: August 18, 2014, 04:10:56 PM
Whenever the price tumbles you will see a few despondent people on this forum talking about how they want to quit BTC. Often the response they get is almost one of encouragement. E.g. "Good more cheap coins for us" or "Let's get rid of the weak hands".

I don't think this is how we should always be responding. It's not good when people feel bad about how things are going. We need adopters, not disillusioned quitters.

2306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It costs $0.09 cents to send $0.24 cents of Bitcoin? Really? on: August 18, 2014, 04:01:56 PM
Hi -

Tried to send $0.24 worth of bitcoin and this pops up:
A temporary problem...
2307  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: August 18, 2014, 02:53:47 PM
Bitcoin will be the only global, widely used currency starting somewhen around 2020 and lasting until such a time when our species no longer uses currency.

All nation-state fiat scrip, rare metals, and altcoins will be roughly equally worthless* within 5 or so years of the date of this posting.

This is my best guess as someone who is almost certainly far more intelligent than you, dear reader.

*Worthless relative to the value of Bitcoin.                    Related: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinitesimal
2308  Economy / Speculation / Re: reason of price drop : Chinese exchanges dont have proof of 100% reserve on: August 18, 2014, 01:08:45 PM
Simply contact them and ask for the cold storage wallet address to check it yourself. why would they deny you that address? Then get suspicious
The fact that chinese exchanges do not charge trading fees certainly makes it look like they are somehow bilking BTC from their customers as it makes little sense as to how they are making their money.

Bingo. Anytime you can't figure out how a capitalist is making a profit, or their business model doesn't add up.... run.
2309  Economy / Economics / Re: Stephen Reed's Million Dollar Logistic Model on: August 18, 2014, 12:43:58 PM

Fixed money supply? interesting. like the tulip bubble. great experiment. i am better off with my pseudo-science, Sir.

Wow, someone actually believes a certain type of flower is an example of a fixed supply.... I .... I don't even know where to start with this one. Biology perhaps?  Undecided
Generally speaking, science is not the strong suit of the superstitious-minded.
2310  Economy / Speculation / Re: this forum tells me the growing feeling is... capitulation. on: August 18, 2014, 12:21:36 PM
To me this smells like the manipulated precursor to 1000+
2311  Economy / Economics / Re: The FED is almost Dead. (Fed = Federal Reserve Inc., a privately owned cartel). on: August 18, 2014, 11:52:28 AM
i think you mean USD is almost dead
The dollar is already dead, the powers that be just happen to be masters of deception.

2312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 21 Hours left! This noble project NEEDS to be funded. Read why. Thank you. on: August 18, 2014, 11:50:37 AM
You have a rather loose definition of the word "need". Starving children NEED to be fed.

This "noble project" doesn't NEED anything, and bitcoin doesn't NEED any paid ads, its dominance is inevitable.
2313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Media's Death-Grasp On Bitcoin Price on: August 18, 2014, 11:48:07 AM
Sorry, I don't read the threads of people with banner ads, as I just assume everything they do is to get views/clicks for money in their pocket.

2314  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is on it's Last Breath. on: August 18, 2014, 11:43:47 AM
We really need to ban the banner ads from this forum if we ever want to see these shitty drama posts stop.

2315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is on it's Last Breath. on: August 18, 2014, 02:30:56 AM
If you really believe what you say, I will buy your bitcoins at $10 each. It's a good deal if you believe what you claim.

2316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How easy it is to KILL bitcoin. on: August 17, 2014, 03:49:14 PM
is not that hard imho, you if have the right amount of money, you can perform a 51% attack, just be very rich
What amount of money is "right" for you?

And btw how 51% attack works?

more than billions of dollars and 51% percent attack doesn't kill bitcoin anyway..
51% = hard fork the chain, invalidating all the attacker's coins and causing them to have thrown away all that money.
2317  Other / Archival / Re: remove on: August 17, 2014, 02:43:30 PM
needs a rebrand

"in cryptography needs no trust, its the truth"
+1 mathematics is trustless
2318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many percent of internet users and overall people use bitcoin ? on: August 17, 2014, 02:32:10 PM
I'd guess about 1% of the online world has heard of Bitcoin. One in twenty of that 1% actively using Bitcoin
I'd guess similar. The good news is that it means anyone reading this is a "Very early adopter"
2319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What service/company should accept bitcoin next? on: August 17, 2014, 02:29:29 PM
What service/company should accept bitcoin next?
I don't like the word "should" in this context.. it implies some sort of obligation.

What company should accept bitcoin next? Whichever one wants to of course!
2320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does this brainwallet have sufficient entropy ? on: August 17, 2014, 02:16:47 PM
Let's say I use an obscure song title as the first one and another as the second , shouldn't it be impossible to guess if both aren't very related ?
NO!

This is how you DON'T do a brain wallet. There is NO SUCH THING as obscure when it comes to passwords protecting your money!!!!

If it's anything that has ever been written down and known to people other than yourself, it is UNSUITABLE for a brain wallet!
