show me the equation..

there is no statistical correlation.

Equations and Statistic's are two different things.

"E=MC Squared" is an equation.

The statistical average of the energy released in a nuclear detonation is going to be something different because there are an infinite number of variables which no equation can duplicate exactly.

Somehow my Jalapeno hashrate dropped from 5.75GH/s to about 5.55GH/s.
snip

I don't know but when I first got mine it worked at 6GH for a couple of days and then spontaneously "dropped a gear" after a move and reconnect and it's been 5.7GH ever since. I've never been able to regain that .3 either  Huh

I let the Jalapeno idle for 10 minutes and changed the USB header it was connected to. Now it's hashing at 5.75GH/s again. Thanks to KNK at BFL forums for suggesting this! But since the Jalapeno already slowed down once, I'm not so confident anymore that it will keep hashing at 5.75GH/s indefinitely without problems.

Good info, please let us know if you need to do this on a regular basis and how often.
Thanks,
Sam
2303  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New to mining need a few tips. on: June 08, 2013, 05:06:06 PM
So I decided to start mining with my laptop at 30-35Mhash/s.
i mine at btc guild.

at what rate would i be making any amount of bitcoin?

for example, if I let it run 24/7 at 30Mhash/s for a week. would i earn any amount of btc?

What GPU is in that laptop?  Make sure you measure your temps very carefully so that you don't fry it.  They are usually not fan cooled.

New question reason being i am absolute garbage at math, at 0.0014BTC a day.. how many would i have in a month?

or better, how long until i get 1.0BTC

At 500Mhash I get about 1 BTC 5 or 6 weeks.  Probably longer with the recent difficulty increase.

I'll go with the yes as well.

So,

never fear!

Ok, I'll do my best.

I did the survey.  I have a 5830 and 5770 and your survey only wanted specific info on the 5830.  It seems to me that it is missing the info on the 5770, except for the total hash rate.  Is that what you intended?
Thanks,
Sam

Sorry it's not clear - I wanted the total hashrate you have and the average hashrate for your highest hashrate device.

I just looked at your response, and if it's the one added just now, then you filled it correctly.

Thanks os2sam Smiley

I can't quite visualize how you'll use this data for power consumption figures.  But I guess we'll find out when you post the resulting analysis.

See you at next months survey.

In this context it means overpowered.

Hooray a complete sentance. Smiley

Sorry for OT post.  Now I'm doing it.

Luck is OP atm.

That makes absolutely no sense.
Why are you so old Cheesy atm = at the moment

That one I actually figured out, but OP? Smiley

Should I take the survey before or after my Block Erupters show up?

Look for the 7350 in this page.  Still haven't found anything about a 7340.  But comparing the 7350 with the specs of the 7xxx series people are using allot, it doesn't look good.

That's a new number.  I used this chart for selecting my GPU's.  Don't know about the 7340 though as its not in the chart, yet.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the real difference is between the two.

2Ghs?

And I got back missing 150MH by seting cards to 10 and 12. So I'm on full speed now. I know it is not the internet since I have tested the cards on another computer before installing it and they worked... I still think it is a bug...

EDIT: So that much about getting slower over 8...

Has your WU: increased as well?

good night.  will update orders sent when I return...
I shut down this puppy and dismantled it: R.I.P.

Yep, will be shutting mine down too when I receive my GB #4 devices.  The end of an era, kind of sad.  But welcome too with summer here.

2318  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to get multiple cgminer instances working on same rig on: June 07, 2013, 12:48:11 PM
So why running both 7950 and 7970 on the same rig would be a problem?

An excellent question.  I wonder if his GPU's were already getting sick before trying the separate instances?
2319  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to get multiple cgminer instances working on same rig on: June 07, 2013, 11:21:54 AM
Although I am aware of the --remove-disabled and -d for each device I'll take the feedback, thank you.  You can keep the sarcasm though...

As for my "sarcasm" it's always best to point folks to the plethora of information that ckolivas has take the time to create for us.  So I posted that suggestion while I refreshed my memory and found the references which had worked for me in the past.  If you had already found those same references and tried them and they failed then, maybe, that should have been in your original post so that someone else could have, maybe, given you suggestions on our actual problem which should probably be phrased something like:

Why do my GPU's go sick and die when I use the --remove-disabled command line argument to disable them so that I can run multiple instances of CGMiner with my multiple GPU's?

Then we could have all done without my obviously undeserved sarcasm and I could have used my time doing something else besides duplicating work that you had already done and just didn't bother to say.

And people wonder why they don't get decent help in these threads.

The only other thing I might suggest, if its not too sarcastic for your delicate ears, maybe post in the CGMiner thread where the authors actually read peoples problems and make for informed suggestions and take bug reports.

Good Luck,
Sam
2320  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to get multiple cgminer instances working on same rig on: June 07, 2013, 11:09:58 AM
I am aware of the --remove-disabled and -d for each device

when I do exactly what you suggested I get instability and problems with the GPUs on both instances and eventually they start to go SICK/DEAD.

My question was geared towards finding out if there's a better way to do this than the way I've tried and failed.

Thanks,
Mike

So you had already tried using "-d 0 --remove-disabled" and it failed?  I didn't see that in your original post.  Or you tried my suggestion and it didn't work for you?

Anyway I have used it in the past with no problems running two CGMiner instances, one for each of my GPU's in one machine.  Don't know why it cause yours to get sick and die.  But that is the way to get CGMiner to ingnore GPU's in one instance so that it can be used in a different instance.

I would say you have some other problem but I have no clue what it is.
