Recording all transactions that have happened is done because that's the easiest way to generate the proof, not because storing that kind of history is the purpose of Bitcoin.
Well said. embedding the hash of UTXO in the block headers and retaining only the last few hundred blocks is being experimented with as a client option. The real trick will be figuring out a secure way of letting the entire network do it. I don't think committed UTXO sets by themselves are sufficient. I hadn't thought about this... If a wrong UTXO hash would invalidate the block it should work, no? But then there's also incentive to omit it due to the risk of the block being rejected. Requiring it would be a hard fork? Who cares about Loaded? Last time he made a winky face the price was a lot higher, and people thought that somehow his wink predicted a new bubble. He's a guy with a lot of bitcoins, he can't push the price up.
agree. His coins can only bring the price down but cannot help the price to go up. That's not entirely true. One can borrow USD on bitfinex and use BTC as collateral. |

So I tried the Trezor with the Electrum 2.0 wallet today and it worked like a charm. Glad to see another wallet service that has implemented the Trezor successfully. I'd like to see if you guys could make any progress with getting Mycelium or Wallet32 to implement it next  curb your enthusiasm : ) there are a few issues if you play with electrum long enough. p.ex. it hangs when creating new wallet (like one with password, one without password), wait at least the bugfix release 2.0.1 is out. but yes, it looks very good and they did great job. I've been using electrum development version from git for about half a year now with trezor. I only once ran into a serious issue and that has been fixed a long time ago. I've been using Electrum with my trezor and have had no problems over the past few days. I can tell you that when creating a new account on your trezor via electrum that it requires 2 confirmations on the first payment address before it creates the extra public addresses (I'm not sure why it has to do this) but that really hasn't been an issue. Molecular I'll send those wallet developers a message about adding trezor to their wallets. But out of curiosity since it's your product couldn't you just make a pull request for the wallets, implement it yourself and serve it back to them on a silver platter? I know that means extra programming for you guys but it seems if the trezor is useable on more and more platforms that it would eventually increase your sales as well as keeping your customers very happy I'm sorry if I came across as being afiliated with satoshilabs. I'm not. I'm just a fan of trezor. I was simply reiterating what satoshilabs has said before on the issue and I can see their point. They are not wallet software developers. They are offering libraries for easy integration, but the integration itself is most efficiently done by the wallet developers. Also the incentive should be there: it makes the wallet more valuable. Thanks for dropping mycelium (I think they have trezor integration on the list, but doesn't hurt to let them know again) and wallet32 devs a line. |

Seh ich ganz genauso. Ich hab den Eindruck finex hat stark an Bedeutung gewonnen in den letzten Monaten. Weiss nicht warum, nur so'n Gefühl.
- registrierte EU Company mit sichtbaren Mitarbeitern - keine Hacks (bis jetzt, heh) - Möglichkeit zu shorten (-> Wales/Vollzeit-Trader haben sowieso Geld dort) - Möglichkeit Geld zu verleihen -> passives Einkommen (-> Wales/Vollzeit-Trader/-"Investoren" haben sowieso Geld dort) - die haben auch Altcoins (manch einer will vielleicht auch bar DRK kaufen und seine alten LTC sellen bevor die ganz wertlos sind) Nett Euch kennenzulernen. Und was seid Ihr so? Gesponserte Werbefuzzi's? So die Fake-Tipp Geber, so'ne Art: '... und gleich geht's weiter ... nach der Werbung'? Übrigens Bitfinex kenn ich ... ist gar nicht so schlecht, aber eben kein Marktführer. Und was lese ich ... registrierte EU Company? Mir kam das damals eher japanisch vor ... Ich liege mit meinen Prognosen zwar auch sehr oft daneben... aber so gut wie im Moment hat mir der Kursverlauf schon lange nicht mehr gefallen! Es sieht so aus, als ob da Leute unbedingt kaufen wollen und jede Gelegenheit wahrnehmen, sobald der Kurs etwas zurückkommt. Wenn das so weiter geht, dann KANN der Kurs nicht stark einbrechen....
Ich finde, der Anstieg ist etwas zu brutal. Für mich stellt sich immer wieder die Frage, wie nachhaltig solche Kursgewinne letztendlich sind. Aus der Sicht der positiven Nachrichtenlage der letzten Monate finde ich nicht, so viel sind wir bis jetzt auch noch nicht gestiegen, aus meiner Sicht mehr oder weniger noch alles im gesunden Masse was den Anstieg betrieft. Ich finde eher bei der Korrektur, die über ein Jahr lang andauerte, da passt dein Begriff eher hin Finde den Anstieg noch nicht brutal. Wenn wir jetzt übermorgen bei $350 wären, würde ich zustimmen. Die Anstiege im November und Januar waren sehr viel steiler. Momentan stimme ich eher oligatrik zu. Die Angst verzieht sich langsam und Vertrauen kehrt zurück... langsam natürlich, es wird auch wieder mal abwärts gehen, aber der Trend ist für mich jetzt klar und wenn $160 nicht der Boden war, dann sing auch ich ein Weihnachtslied. |

Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass sich einige noch schnell eindecken wollen und sich dann erst mal ne Dosis Schlaftabletten gönnen und erst bei Kursen jenseits der 1000 anfangen häppchenweise zu verkaufen. Edit: Sehe gerade auf stamp ne 6000 btc wall bis 300$. Wenn diese sich aufgelöst hat siehts sehr gut aus, kommen erst mal nur Kleckerangebote. Kann sich morgen aber auch schon wieder geändert haben. Denkst du, das Stemp noch eine echte Rolle spielt? Ich denke wenn die Chinesen und Finex die 300 überschreiten, wird Bitstamp einfach überrollt... ja, da ist noch Luft. $350 ist ein ziemlicher knackpunkt.
Ich wäre schon sehr erfreut wenn wir die $315 substantiell überschreiten... dann hätten wir ein neues "higher high" und damit einen schönen Uptrend vom $166 low (bottom?) weg. Dannach können wir gerne wieder auf $250 runter um Schwung zu holen für den 330-350 Bereich (ich denke da werden wir beim ersten Versuch - falls er stattfinden sollte - auf jeden Fall abprallen, da sind viele Bären-Linien (die letzten, oder. > 350 müssen wir neue malen)

(ii) 294 $ (strong, downtrend and triangle resistance, local high)
(iii) 303.33 $ (medium, pivot point, Fib)
(iv) 322 $ (medium, trendline and Fibonacci resistance)
283 - tick  294 - tick If we break $315 substantially (maybe to $350) and stay there for a day or two, I'm getting excited. A drop afterwards wouldn't worry me then, since we'd have built a higher high marking a nice uptrend starting at $166. If we don't break $315 I'm not worried either, but then it'd look like we'll be building a pretty large triangle that can draw out for a long time (months) |

Du wirst nie alle Menschen vom bitcoin überzeugen können, ist aber auch gar nicht nötig. Sonst würde der Kurs ja morgen schon bei 10k stehen ;-) ja sicher, mich überrascht nur teilweise die emotion mit welcher Bitcoin da angegangen wird.  Diese großen Emotionen bei vielen Bitcoin Gegnern sind ein Fakt und immer wieder Anlaß die tieferliegenden Gründe dafür zu erforschen. Bitcoin Fans sind realistisch-abgebrüht bis aufgeregt-enthusiastisch, aber die Gegner wirken oft schon fast militant. Das sehe ich als bemerkenswertes Ungleichgewicht. Auch habe ich das Gefühl, daß viele Leute das erste Mal in ihrem Internet-Leben zum Hater werden, aber warum gerade beim Bitcoin? Habe schon einiges dazu gelesen, die beste Erklärung war, daß die Leute bei einer Sache, die neben der "Liebe" das wichtigste in Ihrem Leben darstellt, nämlich dem "Geld", mit dem Auftauchen des Bitcoins in ihren Grundfesten erschüttert werden. Fast NICHTS ist beim Bitcoin wie bei Ihrem alten Geld- und Wertesystem und da gerät Ihre Welt ins Wanken: Sie bekommen Angst. Und was macht der Mensch, wenn er Angst bekommt? Adrenalin schießt ein und Verteidigungshaltung wird eingenommen. Und viele Handeln nach dem Motto: Angriff ist die beste Verteidigung. Der Neid ist eine sehr starke Emotion. |

Loooooooool: Allein dadurch, dass einige Benutzer jedes Jahr Bitcoins verlieren, weil sie keine Sicherung ihrer Daten vorgenommen haben, wird das digitale Geld weniger. Das ist nicht so wie bei normalem Geld, das bei Verlust noch da ist, nur woanders. Wenn Sie Bitcoins verlieren, sind diese aus dem System verschwunden. Es gibt Verlierer, aber keine Gewinner.

And with Bitcoin's features, why shouldn't it be the global currency?
Because there is a limited amount of coins. If it was a world currency it wouldn't work because essentially that means like 3 billion of the people on earth would not have any coins, and have no way of earning them essentially. Why would they have no way of earning coins? |
