Leveraging makes you do crazy things
Queuing that Chris Rock episode w/ Rick James, "Leverage is a helluva drug." Or thereabouts. Now is not the time to short like this. If anything just sell coins and buy back lower if that's your MO, don't get bent over a barrel on leverage. You won't live to fight another day in this testy market that's going to change soon.
2322  Economy / Speculation / Re: While most permabulls say going up, i say Flash Crash to sub 200$ soon on: May 07, 2015, 02:30:57 AM
Most permabulls are talking about moon these days because of GBTC and kncminer ETN, i say they are just more ways to sell-off.

Sub 200$ incoming!
Implying you've been around these parts for awhile.  How about you post from your normal account.

I believe manny of the top FUD-spreaders have been banned by now, actually. They have multiple accounts by now, that's also one of the reasons why so many new accounts are spreading all the bearish FUD these days, I believe!
No kidding, guess who? It's so tedious setting up all these new socks that will be ignored right out of the gate, that the throwaways need to come out on some stupid shit right out of the gate. Either that or new payment terms for basement chop.

Hillary Clinton Admitted ISIS was a US Govt Creation in Memoir?

...
In June 2013, Edward Snowden leaked classified information from the National Security Agency that the British and American intelligence and the Mossad worked together to create the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Lévy played a crucial role in this regard. Snowden said intelligence services of three countries created ISIS, a terrorist organization that is able to attract all extremists of the world to one place, using a strategy called “the hornet’s nest”.

Interestingly, Hillary Clinton, the former US secretary of State, acknowledged in her newly published memoir that US government created ISIS and referred to Lévy describing him as the mastermind behind the ISIS military success.

NSA Whistleblower: “We Are No Longer Afraid Of The Police State Happening. It’s Here”

First Bill Binney – the high-level NSA executive who created the agency’s mass surveillance program for digital information, the 32-year NSA veteran widely who was the senior technical director within the agency and managed thousands of NSA employees – told Washington’s Blog that America has already become a police state.

Then Thomas Drake – one of the top NSA executives, and Senior Change Leader within the NSA – told us the same thing.

Now Kirk Wiebe – a 32-year NSA veteran who received the Director CIA’s Meritorious Unit Award and the NSA’s Meritorious Civilian Service Award – agrees (tweet via Jesselyn Radack, attorney for many national security whistleblowers, herself a Department of Justice whistleblower):

It’s not just NSA officials … Two former U.S. Supreme Court Justices have warned that America is sliding into tyranny. A former U.S. President, and many other high-level American officials agree.

2326  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never again be priced over $300. on: May 07, 2015, 01:37:57 AM
Bitcoin on paper is already being purchased for over $300 over on GBTC on OTC and its trading has only been happening for a few days. When these shareholders have been locked in a year ago in the middle of a growing bear market and here we are a year later and the price is where it is, the shareholders are under water and don't want to sell much if anything below a certain price, hence the higher premiums there.

You have lots of large shareholders over there that for the right price (2,3,4,5x the current price) will sell to others that want to gain exposure in this growing market which is on the verge of a trend reversal. Then, they can arb at any of the exchanges and buy 2,3,4,5x as many coins which is freaking huge. If they continue to hold limited shares, then the asks can either give up or go higher. Currently, shares have been sold upwards of $1300 per bitcoin albeit not many, yet. The exchange prices have to come up at some point just by default and we aren't even taking into consideration the Swedish exchange & the Winks' operations which will bring hedge funds, 401Ks and other institutional money into which will create massive demand while the supply has dwindled - and that's before this stuff halves next fall.

If I was you, I'd keep your bet in words and not actually bet any paper on it cause I'm sure there'll be many people wanting to place bets with you and I doubt you can afford to ante up in the escrow kitty.

When you hear Ron asking the lady about the ins and outs of Bitcoin and kinda referring to it as a stock or something seems so typical for older types w/ money and hopefully they can swallow getting involved in an ETF as I can almost never see any of them actually purchasing coins.

Mike (Sc)H(m)uckabee calls on senators in 2016 race to resign their current seats

Newly-minted presidential candidate Mike Huckabee on Wednesday doubled down on his call for presidential candidates who currently hold public office to resign their positions, suggesting they're wasting taxpayer dollars.

“I think people have to choose. I just believe it’s a matter of integrity to say, ‘I don’t want this job that I just got elected to. I think I want a different job.’ Ok, then resign the job you have and go out there and seek the one you want,” he told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Wednesday on Good Morning America. “t's not that I’m going after anybody. I'm speaking the obvious. If a person has a job that the taxpayers are paying for, shouldn't that person do that job?”

Although Huckabee didn’t name any names, there are currently three 2016 GOP candidates who hold elected positions – Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio. Other potential candidates currently in office include Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, though they have yet to formally declare their candidacies.

The former Arkansas governor also forcefully made that point during his presidential announcement speech Tuesday.

Of course, as several observers immediately noted, Huckabee himself launched a U.S. Senate bid while he was still serving as lieutenant governor of Arkansas. Roll Eyes (He suspended that campaign when then-Gov. Jim Guy Tucker resigned in 1996, elevating him to the governor's mansion.)

Chef, all of candidates of the two major parties will work for more centralization and more state. Idealism is misplaced here, every president these days is under immense pressure by both lobbyists paying his campaign and ever increasing administrative apparatus. One person wont stop it, if (s)he really tried.
I believe Rand to be cut from the same cloth as his dad and it's evidenced by his votes and leadership on certain topics: more restrained foreign policy where war has to be voted on by Congress, criminal justice issues, audit the fed, pro-civil liberties/anti-NSA measures just to name a few. Rand has more going for him than his dad and not just his way of framing issues in ways that the media can't demagogue him to hell over. They will ignore him up to a certain point but he's got decent relationships w/ certain tv and radio hosts to be able to put him in front of certain audiences that make up the GOP base where he can say his piece. I like supporting people that are up to doing good things in the face of troublemakers and miscreant thieves. That's why I have my Rand thread to promote him to the Bitcoin community and have been doing so for well over a year. And for those around the world that can't donate to help him, I provide a one stop shop for interested parties to find all relevant, daily news and info on Rand w/o having to search for it. It's on the house.

Sens. Paul, Schatz & Rep. Ellison Introduce RESET Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Rand Paul (R-KY) and Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), and U.S. Representative Keith Ellison (D-MN) yesterday reintroduced the Reclassification to Ensure Smarter and Equal Treatment Act of 2015, known as the RESET Act. This bipartisan and bicameral legislation would reclassify specific low-level, non-violent drug possession felonies as misdemeanors, eliminate the distinction between crack and powder cocaine for sentencing, and ensure that food products containing drugs are weighed fairly. Rep. Ellison sponsors the companion legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“The RESET Act will end the worst sentencing injustices for non-violent offenses in our criminal justice system. It will more closely align punishment with the severity of the offense and make it possible for someone to get a second chance after a non-violent youthful mistake, instead of a lifetime punishment,” Sen. Paul said.

“Today, our flawed criminal justice system imposes harsh punishments for non-violent, low-level drug crimes, creating a destructive cycle of recidivism that impacts those in our most vulnerable communities. The RESET Act helps fix some of the problems facing our justice system by ensuring punishments for low-level crimes are fair. By making these commonsense changes, we can make sure resources are directed toward violent criminals and give petty offenders a better chance at becoming productive members of society,” said Sen. Schatz.

“The failed war on drugs is designed to keep entire communities in a cycle of debt and poverty,” Rep. Ellison said. “1.5 million African American men are missing from society due in large part to our broken criminal justice system. We need to bring the punishment for non-violent and low-level drug offenses back into proportion with similar crimes.”

Rand Unveils ‘The Waste Report’

In February, the Inspector General (IG) for the Department of Homeland Security issued a report documenting a lack of oversight in the Coast Guard’s Travel to Obtain Health Care Program. At an average annual cost of $1.2 million (not counting lost work), thisprogram pays for persons stationed in Alaska to travel to receive medical care they cannot get locally. [1]

As the IG notes in their report, most care can be fully provided in Anchorage or (if needed) in Seattle, WA. Instead, the IG uncoveredtrips from Alaska to Vail, Colorado; Orlando, FL; Scottsdale, AZ; and Savannah, GA.[2] Though a doctor’s referral is supposed to be required before travel is approved, only twelve percent of records had such notes.

In total, 94 percent of all records were missing key elements including travel requests, approval forms, cost estimates, and/or doctor’s notes.[3] This lack of basic documentation prevented the IG from substantiating whistleblower claims that trips -even to Anchorage- were more for shopping than medical care, while also preventing the IG from affirming the need for accompanyingspouses (who also traveled at taxpayer expense) to assist patients.

The IG made several recommendations to improve training on what kind of documentation is required for the health care travel program. The Coast Guard agreed to all the recommendations and has implemented the training, but one should not need special training to know that taxpayer funded medical travel should not be approved without a doctor’s note, especially if that travel is for couples’ trips to vacation hot spots.

‘STENCH OF CORRUPTION': ANTI-HILLARY STREET ART HITS L.A. AHEAD OF FUNDRAISERS

Fake, tree-shaped car fresheners with an image of Clinton in the middle have been placed at the corners of Sunset and Amalfi, Sunset and Capri and Sunset and Allenby in the Tony Riviera section of Pacific Palisades, home to Hollywood luminaries like Ben Affleck, J.J. Abrams, Steven Spielberg, and Tom Hanks.

The air freshener’s caption? “Stench of Corruption.”

Clinton is set to attend three high-priced fundraisers on Thursday, May 7. In the morning, Clinton will appear at the Westwood home of Women’s Political Committee member Catherine Unger for a $2,700 per plate women’s breakfast fundraiser, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

In the afternoon, Clinton will attend a $2,700 per plate fundraiser luncheon at the Pacific Palisades home of legendary television producer Steven Bochco and his wife Dayna. Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) is reportedly set to attend the fundraiser as a special guest.

Hillary is the favorite among millionaire voters: Survey

Hillary Clinton is the favorite U.S. presidential candidate among millionaire voters and would win a head-to-head contest with former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, according to the third CNBC Millionaire Survey conducted in March that was released today.

The survey, which polls 750 Americans with a net worth of $1 million or more, found that 53 percent of millionaires would vote for the Democratic ex-Secretary of State, compared with 47 percent for the GOP presidential hopeful, in a hypothetical general-election match-up. Clinton had the support of 91 percent of Democratic millionaires, 13 percent of Republican millionaires and 57 percent of Independent millionaires.

2335  Other / Politics & Society / Iranian Navy Chases After U.S. Warships on: May 06, 2015, 07:57:24 PM
An Iranian naval fleet chased a U.S. warship and military planes through the waters off the southern coast of Yemen late Monday in yet another provocative encounter between the two nations, according to Iranian state media reports.

A U.S. warship and several planes reportedly “changed their direction” on Monday after encountering an Iranian naval fleet during a patrol in the Gulf of Aden near Yemen, Iranian state media revealed.

The U.S. military assets fled “after they came close to an Iranian naval fleet and were warned to move away,” Iran’s state-controlled Fars News Agency reported. Iran also released video of the incident.

The run-in between the United States and Iranian militaries is just the latest in several tense confrontations between the countries near Yemen, where Iran is believed to be smuggling weapons to opposition forces.

IRS gave promotions to tax cheaters: Audit

The IRS refused to fire most of its own employees found to be cheating on their taxes — and in some cases even quickly turned around and promoted them within the year, according to a new audit released Wednesday.

In about 60 percent of cases of “willful violations” IRS managers found mitigating circumstances and refused to fire the employees, even though the law calls for that penalty. In some of those cases the managers didn’t even document why they’d overridden the penalty, said Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration J. Russell George.

“Given its critical role in Federal tax administration, the IRS must ensure that its employees comply with the tax law in order to maintain the public’s confidence,” Mr. George said. “Willful violation of the law by IRS employees should not be taken lightly, and the IRS Commissioner should fully document decisions made to retain employees whom management has proposed be terminated.”

Surveillance planes spotted in the sky for days after West Baltimore rioting

As Benjamin Shayne settled into his back yard to listen to the Orioles game on the radio Saturday night, he noticed a small plane looping low and tight over West Baltimore — almost exactly above where rioting had erupted several days earlier, in the aftermath of the death of a black man, Freddie Gray, in police custody.

The plane appeared to be a small Cessna, but little else was clear. The sun had already set, making traditional visual surveillance difficult. So, perplexed, Shayne tweeted: “Anyone know who has been flying the light plane in circles above the city for the last few nights?”

That was 9:14 p.m. Seven minutes later came a startling reply. One of Shayne’s nearly 600 followers tweeted back a screen shot of the Cessna 182T’s exact flight path and also the registered owner of the plane: NG Research, based in Bristow, Va.

“The Internet,” Shayne, 39, told his wife, “is an amazing thing.”

What Shayne’s online rumination helped unveil was a previously secret, multi-day campaign of overhead surveillance by city and federal authorities during a period of historic political protest and unrest.

They would've passed this w/o the majority of people supporting it. Unarmed socialist sheep, however, always look to increase government in hopes of being more safe. Those who committed the terrorist act were likely already on the police's radar so this new law will just murky the waters even further by making the haystack the needle is in, even bigger.
2339  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Careful with your DNA, Ancestry.com is sharing data with the police on: May 06, 2015, 06:47:44 PM
Sounds like it's touch DNA that they're using to expand analysis into including familial markers which increase the risk of misidentification even further.

Quote
This risk will increase further as state and local law enforcement agencies begin to use Rapid DNA analyzers—portable machines that can process DNA in less than an hour. These machines will make it much easier for police to collect and analyze DNA on their own outside a lab. Currently, because forensic DNA analysis in a lab takes so long, we generally see its use limited to high-level felonies like rape and murder. However, Rapid DNA manufacturers are now encouraging local police agencies to analyze DNA found at the scene of low-level property crimes. This means much more DNA will be collected and stored, often in under-regulated local DNA databases. And, because most of the forensic DNA found at property crime scenes is likely to be touch DNA—this only increases the risk that people will be implicated in crimes they didn’t commit.

Yesterday, I voted against a proposal that was going to raise the sales tax 16% and it failed. My vote mattered little other than being happy that I contributed to denying the proposal and the lies the statists were putting on tv about it.
