2322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: September 14, 2022, 11:33:24 AM

What do you think? Is it possible for us to predict or guess the Elon Mask's next step? If it was possible, then obviously he is not the elon mask you know. He is the person whose thoughts are impossible to know. Now if you ask us what Elon's plan is with Bitcoin and Crypto, he is just doing all the things to get attention and boost his products like Tesla and SpaceX. Well, what I think is that it's not about only Tesla or Spacex, he is all about running and planning for profit. When he believes it is time to profit from crypto, he comes and begins his games with crypto and market manipulation. With cryptocurrency, he achieves two goals: he becomes controversial and generates buzz for his product; what we call "negative marketing" is a form of marketing. That's my overall opinion. Thank you.
His next step was a strategy that looked to have worked out in his favor from the last bit of news to make way on this saga regarding him taking over twitter.
The shareholders are wanting to take his offer now.
https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/13/tech/twitter-elon-musk-deal-shareholder-vote/index.html
They were ready to sue for damages but instead will accept his $44bln acquisition bid.
Looks like the chess match he was playing with the board directors really did pay off in the long run.
2323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Man who lost 7500 bitcoin in a landfill asks gov't he wants to dig it up on: September 14, 2022, 11:22:18 AM
Honestly, despite getting away with some of the pitfalls you'd have by having a actual human manned search inside a active site, I still don't think he'll get the permission required. The environmental experts would have a field day with the local council, and they'd likely find themselves in hot water. So, while he's doing the right thing in suggesting he would look to improve the local area by investing in it from the Bitcoin on the hard drive, there's just too many variables, as well as health, and safety.

My first thoughts when this started all those years ago, is he'll never get permission for a number of reasons, but one that really stuck out was the health, and safety violations. For example. it's an active site, and could potentially have unwanted sharp objects, which they'd never be able to give permission to someone to look through it, knowing that there's a good chance that they could get seriously hurt.

So, going the robot route is a good idea, it reduces the risk of injury, and death, plus no one actually needs to be on site. However, there's still issues with disturbance of the debris, which would create a environmental hazard, at least that's what the local council have in mind.

Plus, this is all hearsay remember. While, this man's case might be genuine, he can't prove that A) these funds exist B) They'll still be retrievable, and C) he can retrieve them without causing any disturbance or health hazards.

Plus, it really does open a can of worms if the council did open it up for him to search, since all sorts of people could claim to have lost something. Unfortunately, he's probably never going to obtain that hard drive legally.

There was an update to this story a month or so ago where the person who lost the hard drive must already be infact rich.
That he has plans to have some sort of robots that are more like drones built so they can scan the garbage field in England for the missing drive.
That to me that is going to cost him as much as the coins are probably worth from where the markets stand right of now. Cheesy
I don't think he was rich, not overly so anyway. I guess that's whatever you deem rich is, he obviously had a decent job being a computer engineer. However, I would think he has made money from the publicity, I mean he has some fairly successful presenters doing a sort of documentary on him, and I'm assuming that wasn't done for free, since stories are sold all the time. Plus, the numerous other stories which have developed along the years. Pretty much everyone in Wales knows this story. Also, and don't quote me on this I believe there's been public fundraising done, as well as likely private investors which have gotten involved in the project. In one of the articles above he says the funding has been secured, therefore the people involved in the proposed project are all likely getting a share if it was ever found.

Just to correct you there too, Newport is in Wales, not England.
My utmost apologies to a Welsh calling it part of England.
As for being rich, If he can pay nearly a hundred thousand dollars per K9 robot drone-type unit that DrmrDdmr has mentioned, then I will consider this rich with the sky high level of inflation the UK and Europe are in (yes higher than in the US) and not needing to worry about the basics.
I would then assume people of Great Britain are very well off indeed and their poverty level is quite low.
But that is neither here or there pertaining to this article. So I will just leave it there.

As you could read in my post, the man charged £250 for an ordinary interview, and made the whole thing even more attractive with the claim that the lost hard drive also contains evidence of Satoshi (IP address).

Also, and don't quote me on this I believe there's been public fundraising done, as well as likely private investors which have gotten involved in the project. In one of the articles above he says the funding has been secured, therefore the people involved in the proposed project are all likely getting a share if it was ever found.

I don't know what kind of job he had before, but they say that now he doesn't do anything else except that he tries every way he can to find the hard disk. Allegedly, he has enough private funds for the entire operation, but he never manages to get permission from the local authorities. I have to admit that these people really have a steely attitude when they refuse to change their opinion all this time, even though they say that everyone has a price at which they will change their decision.

Mr Howells has given up his job to concentrate full time on trying to organize the operation (and to speculate on conspiracy theories about what the local authority might not want to dig up there).  His relationship broke up a while ago, possibly because he couldn’t stop blaming his partner for being the one to actually throw the hard drive away, and he keeps an app on his phone which reminds him in real time of how much money he doesn’t have.
The drive contains satoshi's IP address?
Well then now, that makes this scavenger hunt much more interesting.

What an event and leaving the fans in the Apex wanting more!
They witnessed a grappler taking down his opponent as perfectly as possible and it was a sight to behold.

Now why did Holland even try to touch gloves right after the match had started?
They do that when they meet in the middle of the octagon at the very beginning.
Don't trust an opponent like Chimaev to be your friend or friendly once in the ring.
That was his first mistake. Then from there it went all down hill.
That choke hold finished him off quick and clean. Once again Khamzat was not touched in this match and goes 12-0.
They are saying his next opponent who could atleast be worthy enough to step in there and make it challenging for him would be Colby.

Brady somehow managed to pull out a win against the cowboys with a dismal performance of the season opener.
First half were all field goals and ended 12-3. Yeah that's right, not one touchdown by either Brady nor Dak Prescott, who left the game with a fracture in his hand. He will having surgery and will miss 6-8 weeks for the start of their season.
What a horrible game for Dallas as they were losing and it was near the end of the game anyways when he got took off the field.

So tonights MNF match up is the Broncos against Seahawks.
With Russell Wilson making his return to the team he left at Seattle so expect alot of boos from the crowd.
I went safe and put in a prop bet on my acca with him getting atleast 2 touchdowns.

^^
No, not at all.
It was Khamzat who started all these incidents so he didn't have to fight him in the first place. He didn't want the fight and wanted someone else as he has mentioned time and time again. Dana and the UFC didn't want to give him what he wished so he caused all these events to unfold so to get a new card done.
It is just that simple. Start a fight during the press conference so to get it cancelled and then miss weight by nearly 10 pounds so he couldn't fight him.
Just watch this video by one of my favorite youtuber source on the UFC: TheWeasle to find out what started all this to kick-off since the night before:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOGJE2STuP4
The discussion from same youtuber about the revision to the cards of Chimaev vs Holland and Diaz vs Ferguson:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKkgpG8oyrM

Odds have changed of course due to a new main event scheduled with Diaz against Ferguson:

2329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 10, 2022, 07:21:49 AM
Nate bringing lots of men ready to stir a conference had scared Dana that he made changes.  The hype still is still alive though.
Nate must have been seeking someone else to fight and recently he said in an interview that he wasn't even preparing anymore to fight Khamzat.

Would you  consider then that the mafia of this sport did give way to upright matches?
No, it was all planned by Khamzat this way in purposefully missing weight.
It is just that simple. He didn't want to fight Diaz in the first place and neither did Diaz for possibly the last fight of his career and all UFC fans didn't want him to go out like this, as a punk of the sport.
With Khamzat starting a brawl in the back with Holland it was looking like he wanted to fight him instead so hence the missing weight by a large amount.
Just watch this conference interview with Holland 2 days ago, way before all this nonsense occurred and you decide if this wasn't all planned and setup before weigh-ins at the 4 minute mark of the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFssCA-Ui0w

They had a beef well before the confrontation happened and altercations ensued.

I guess the question now is who is going to win between Diaz and Ferguson?  It seems pretty amateurish to change the main event the night before the fight, but this is the UFC...  Gotta give them credit for rolling with the punches and putting on a show no matter what happens.  I think this is a better matchup for Diaz anyway.  After seeing how Chimaev missed weight and still was trying to act like a tough guy, I'm not sure I care about him anymore.  Was glad to hear the crowd booing him.
This is all better for both fighters as Diaz vs Ferguson is the main event now and Khamzat gets somebody who he wanted to fight and actually will be a challenge for him and not get run through.
One video I watched a couple of hours after the changes were announced mentioned how each fighter will get paid more in the end for this anyways.

So it works out for everyone including the real reason to do it, for the fans who are paying for these new bouts in their pay per views.

There's no way the fight goes on with Chimaev missing weight by that much.  That's so unprofessional that I didn't even see it coming.  Chimaev serious lost respect and possibly his big shot at being the guy in the UFC.  The fact he's smiling just shows that it hasn't set in yet how much he just screwed over his career.  No doubt Dana White is pissed and already looking for the next big thing to put Chimaev on the mat.  It was wrong for Dana to put them up against each other in the first place, so I think this falls in the category of play stupid games and win stupid prizes.
And he is not fighting him at that weight after all.
Changes made at the last minute before the ceremonial weigh-ins start.

With the missed weigh by the main event fighter Chimaev.
So he fights Holland instead and Ferguson will fight Diaz.
Dana White announces it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2LhWQp5y-k
This changes up things tremendously. Especially for the bookies to hurry and make up the odds for each of those new changes to these bouts.

Wow! Can't believe Hamzat Chimaev missed weight by 8.5 pounds.
He got himself in trouble right before the press conference while it was going to start and they cancelled it completely due to an altercation with Holland.

Khamzat Chimaev VS Nate Diaz
Israel Adesanya predicted Nate to win this fight via sub or KO Cheesy In his YouTube vid, he says that he is not confident that Khamzat has tank to fight all 5 rounds. And as Nate has a iron chin and likes to increase fight tempo, Khamzat will out of fuel by round 4 or 5, and there Nate will finish him.
It just might happen cause Hazmat does not look like he is taking this fight seriously.
The last fight with Burns he almost lost and it went the full 5 rounds.

ESL Pro league 16 is heating up with G2 and Faze carving out solid victories in their tables with yesterday's matches.
G2 almost had a 16-0 round on map 2 against MiBR as they went 15-0 at the half.

Have placed some bets yesterday which had won with these two teams and will continue backing them until they lose during this tournament.
2335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: September 09, 2022, 08:35:20 AM
If the games get postponed they get crammed somewhere else and we continue the league as per schedule. Meaning Chelsea will not play Fulham, they will play whoever is scheduled for the week we resume.
Oh yes, that is correct Trofo.
They did this last season inwhich covid cancelled so many matches. And they continued on setout by the scheduling as per usual.
Some of the matches such as the Arsenal matches from what I recall were played out nearer to the end of the season.
So these selections made by the participants in the pool for these weekend matches don't get included into their overall points and the matchweek just gets scratched?

Rams played horribly since the very start. They even won the coin toss but decided to defer so the Bills received the ball first. Roll Eyes
You can see this happening the way it did because Stafford was recovering from an injury the announcers were stating during the 2nd half of the ball game. As they got word that he had something wrong with his throwing arm.
No wonder the oddsmakers had them as the underdogs at over 2.17x on some sportsbooks while the Bills were 1.77x.
He had alot of interceptions from what I watched of the game and actually ended up turning it off during the last td by buffalo when it got to 31-10.
It was an absolute thrashing at the hands of the Bills.
Josh Allen played like a maniac and scored a td himself like he always does.
Running it in like a running back.

Can't wait to see what Brady will be bringing to the table when the Buccs face off against the Cowboys this Football Sunday.

Don't believe there will be any EPL matches this weekend going into late next week due to the monarch passing.
So they declared 10 days of mourning for the nation.
It wouldn't feel the same playing a game when you are in this state.
It wouldn't be proper so Chelsea's new manager Potter gets an extra week and a few days to prepare against Fulham.
Very sad state of affairs there now.

Less than 22 hours remaining for the end of Stake 5th birthday race. Currently I'm near to 2400 rank with $332k wager. My highest achievement was to reach between 1k to 1.1k rank during this race. But my rank gradually decreased as the other users has wagered a lot quicker than me.
During the last few hours it is possiblee to see a good number of whales making a big change in the lead list. $332k is a big wager according to me. During the event if you haven't experienced loss, then this is gonna get you good bonus as well as winning reward for getting placed within the top 5000.
With the race nearly done, there are indeed big bets being placed so to rank up in the standings.
While doing a few rounds on crash I had seen a platinum 6 player wagering 130eth per round while I was there.
The thing landed on under 1.20x all those rounds but the player raised his wager amount up to 300eth every round until I left

For the place in the race I am at 3797 and do not need to wager anymore since I will get $75 for being in the top 4000.
I was at 4197 last week and noticed the prize was lowered to $50 so being in the top that I am in is good enough.
Totaled wagered during the month long race is $217k for me.
