2321  Economy / Economics / Re: What balance is required to earn $636.75 in monthly dividends on: March 09, 2023, 04:09:45 PM
Investing in dividend-yielding stocks can definitely be a great move, but people forget that they need to actually pick ones that will end up performing well business-wise. Having stocks that give great dividend yield doesn't mean crap if the stock price is on a downtrend and if the business is slowly but surely dying.

This is something that Warren Buffett did pretty well with Coca-Cola: https://twitter.com/DividendGrowth/status/1630613809839718400

Exactly. Picking out the right stocks for dividends is really important. But what happens when a business decides that the dividends need to be slashed? Its impossible to predict, just like its nearly impossible to predict a good stock with 100% accuracy. So it might be a fools errand to expect yourself to do as well as Warren Buffet did with coca cola. He just got lucky. And even then the dividend game takes years. It took him 35 years to earn those dividends. If he invested in Bitcoin during one of many times in the past when the price was low, it would have taken him less than a year.
It's still a risky investment which won't guarantee stable income along the time. It depends a lot on the currently moment and tendency of the economy. Investors have to be active watching their assets, because at some point it might be necessary to sell them in order to invest in another tendency. Few assets have solid and constant returns on long term and these aren't highly profitable, anyway.

Thinking this way, bitcoin doesn't look a bad idea, because you don't need to spend a lot of your time on it. You just acquire your coins and keep them held at a safe wallet, and that is all. No hurries are needed. The only cons is the passive income aspect, although the profitability on long run must overcome any passive income assets' investments offer.
Comparing two completely different things is pointless. You can't compare staking with dividends, nor stocks with Bitcoin. While they do share some similarities, they are completely different things. On top of that, there's never a guarantee, neither in receiving dividends nor from staking awards, since the market is quite volatile in both cases and the returns may vary. Bitcoin also isn't a comparable investment; it's an asset that doesn't yield steady returns. You're claiming that it doesn't require too much effort, but results aren't guaranteed either, while it may take years to pay off.
If they are completely different, how do they share some similarities?

Since both are investments, it's always possible to trace a parallel. Bitcoin may take a long time, but history shows us it pays off.

Bitcoin will reward you at once (on the moment of the sale), while stocks will pay dividends gradually, and also reward you on the moment of the sale, although increasement potential of bitcoin is much superior.

If we think about guarantees in order to only invest our money on what is certain, we aren't going to reach any conclusions and will end not investing in anything at all, because every investments have risks.

2323  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans go to Mexico for medicals to cut costs. on: March 08, 2023, 05:38:30 PM
It would be nice to hear from someone who is from USA if it is legit and if it is really happening in considerable scale, because there have always been a lot of negative propaganda about US in order to defame the country's image launched by its foreigners rivals with tendencies to leftist policies, so it's not the kind of thing which looks credible at first glance. And in case medical treatments in Mexico are much cheaper, someone must ask himself what is the reason for that, which looks pretty suspicious in every csses, right?
2324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wrong Bets !!! on: March 08, 2023, 05:00:43 PM
This is very unfortunate. Be more attentive next time when placing your bets. Maybe swaping balance view mode from btc to dollar may help on this matter.

Personally, I don't remember facing any past events similar to this one you described. Since I really fear it happens to me, I use to be very attentive, checking twice or three times before clicking the roll button. The same is valid for any bitcoin transactions you are going to execute.
2325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling advertisements: A big trigger to gambling addiction. on: March 08, 2023, 04:44:15 PM
Gambling ads are exposed to a large audience, and only a small percentage of that audience develops the addiction, because they have a predisposition for that, and not exactly because they had access to gambling propaganda. Otherwise we could even say opened land based casinos are the reason why people get addicted, because they were influenced by the curiosity of seeing these shops opened, entered, started playing and got addicted.

I believe to blame ads is a way to get rid of personal responsabilities over our own acts. Misleading propaganda is another matter and should be banned, though.
2326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling using chip in money? on: March 08, 2023, 03:42:26 PM
In fact, it looks similar to those entertainment programs on TV where the participant has to answer questions correctly in order to advance to bigger prizes, but he can't give up on the middle of the process to leave with a guaranteed, but lower prize, with the exception of few "checkpoints" which are offered to the participant.

Just like this story OP mentioned, many people feel entertained when watching such programs or videos. So it's a powerful method for the streamer to accumulate views, get popular and earn money through advertisement.

The bets themselves become just part of the show. The real profit must be being done through alternative ways...
2327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: where the losed money goes? on: March 07, 2023, 07:48:41 PM
First of all, it's lost money, not losed. And this money is going to the hands of the casinos' owners who may add this to the platform's wallets, to pay employees' wages, to pay for marketing, games' providers or internal development. It's up to casinos' owners to decide what to do with the profit they make from gamblers. What we know is that they are going to use this money for the own good of the business and of the people behind it.
2328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expectations for March?! on: March 07, 2023, 07:13:09 PM
It has been a negative moment for bitcoin since March has started. Bitcoin is losing price since then, hiting the 22,000$ support level already, in a very sharp momentaneous crash. Although there was a recovery after that, it still looks a pretty bearish moment, which can continue pushing btc price down to lower and lower support levels. The tendency indicates pessimism among  crypto investors for now.
2329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are investors so sceptical about Altcoins? on: March 07, 2023, 04:44:08 PM
Investors are skeptical about altcoins since many of them are not as decentralized and censorship-resistant as Bitcoin is. Aside from the fact that altcoins' prices are much more volatile than Bitcoins', most of them are still in experimental stage. Investors can expect altcoins to be an unreliable investment compared to BTC. Despite the inherent issues of alts, it's still possible to make a profit if you know how to play your cards right. Altcoins are usually driven by hype, so they could rise astronomically in price for a short period of time. But don't expect to take them seriously as a long-term investment because of the reasons mentioned before.

Picking the right altcoin is a hard and time-consuming task. I'd stick with Bitcoin and Ethereum for complete peace of mind. As long as you invest wisely, there should be nothing to worry about. Just my thoughts Grin
But, there are many people who buy Bitcoin and use it for investment purposes only. They don't care about Bitcoins decentralized factor. The main reason why many people are skeptical about Altcoins is not because Altcoins are more centralized but because most of them are just scams.

When it comes to volatility, I think it was Bitcoins are the ones who are more volatile because it is less regulated. There are old Altcoins like Ethereum and Litecoin. They are not on the experimental stage anymore. These are the Altcoins that we should invest if we want to diversify our funds or if we are simply bored on investing in Bitcoins alone.
I believe investors are full of doubts about what altcoins to pick, because they want to be sure to choose the one which is going to return huge profit percentage to them. However, they ignore the fact nobody can predict such hypes, since it's heavily lead by sudden speculation created by whales in an attempt to manipulate market's prices, executing their pump and dump schemes.

With few exceptions, there aren't strong factors to consider in order to explain why one altcoin is performing well, while others aren't.

Consequently, for doubtful investors, it's highly advised they put their money into bitcoin to minimize losses and care for the investment's safety.
2330  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: March 07, 2023, 04:06:31 PM
I guess a superior degree is more interesting if you are willing to work on the field you are studying about, even if it means to work for someone else.

Entrepreneurship is more related to a state of mind than degrees, because it's notorious there are people who only attended to the basic educational levels and still do very well on their entrepreneurship journey, more than some people who have superior education.

Without any doubts a high educational level is very important and will open your mind to new knowledge and lead you through new contacts channels, which are essential on your career, however, it won't mean you are going to be a skilled businessman for that reason.
2331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Life After 10 years in Bitcoin... on: March 07, 2023, 12:36:32 PM
Now bitcoin is preparing to reach another ATH. Are you still there and holding your bitcoins? What happened to your life after 10 years in bitcoin? Is there any changes?
Bitcoin has changed my life a lot. I'm still sticking with Bitcoin. I bought and invested in Bitcoin when the price was down. Bitcoin price will increase in future. But I have some failure stories. I have been given many opportunities in life but I have failed to utilize most of them. But if 2024 bitcoin halving I will leave all my investment and if the market is dumping again then I will invest again. But I learned a lot from sticking to Bitcoin.
Despite the failures we've already faced in life, there will be always opportunities to do the right thing ahead, and regards bitcoin, I hope this time is near, so everyone who missed the chance of profiting with 2017 and 2021's ATH will finally be able to make a nice sum of money, which can be a life changing for many investors. It can be the opportunity to earn enough money to purchase a house, pay for your education, buy a car and give financial confort to your family.
2332  Other / Off-topic / Re: Now ready for Bitcoin. on: March 06, 2023, 09:39:08 PM
Nice. For how many hours can you run a TV or computer daily with energy generated by this solar panel? Do you have a battery to store energy for longer?

It's a first very positive step to have access to this basic element in everyone's lives, and I hope it allows you to open your horizons to even more achievements that must come next.

That the spread of solar energy in Africa may help bitcoin adoption to keep growing to even higher levels. Congratulations!
2333  Economy / Gambling / Re: they are scamming us? on: March 06, 2023, 09:19:11 PM
If OP has something against any casino in particular he should present the faced issue besides proof to confirm what he is telling is legit through a fresh thread created at Scam Accusations section on this forum. To talk about scams in a general aspect won't be effective in anyways. Problems must be addressed technically, formaly and particularly to bring further conclusions at the gambler's favor or at the casino's favor, depending the final outcomes of the process.

DeSantis continues with with evasion tactic

He isnt going to win if he never represents, he cant win on just being known in Florida clearly so he has to fight somewhere and apparently saw no gain in doing so early in this venue.  I wonder if DeSantis is waiting for Trump to lose before he tries to win.   The biggest events in that race might be entirely 3rd party such as legal proceedings or other measures if any though I actually think there isnt any real case to bear especially.  People rioted and they shouldn't have, Trump should have admitted defeat and conceded but you cant try people for not agreeing with you or bad faith in a democratic system.
Im not a fan of any of these guys but I think any prosecution against Trump would only be biased and appear malicious and interfering with democracy which makes it a completely ironic and self defeating attempt at justice.  They tried him twice as President and it didn't pass just like the attempt on Clinton in the 90's was mostly fuss with no real gain possible.
People and the mainstream are almost completely separate to the undercurrents of politics which is probably a good thing, I'll wait for the crowd to weigh in but at present the precedent is with any serving president to continue.

Well, if Desantis continues to wait for someone else to get rid of Mr.Trump and it does not happen, I won't bet a panny in favor of DeSantins in the Republican primaries. He stands no chance with this current strategy. As you hinted, he is an outsider in the eyes of a lot of Republicans living outside Florida.

Have you watched the pro-DeSantis advertisement they are broadcasting on TV? The guy has not even announced yet and he is already getting some support. Take a look at this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2q-iZ5dv1Q

This smells like presidential run, but won't go far if he continues to evade the elephant in the room that Donald Trump is.  Roll Eyes
There is no doubts Trump will beat everyone on the republican party who attempts to run for presidency. He has money, influence and the largest base of followers among every potential candidates, including the called conservative politicians from another nations.

I don't even think DeSantis was wrong to not attend to this meeting. It was actually pointless to preach to converted people to the Trump's cult. When there is no reason and logic involved and idolatry takes control, any kind of discussion is useless.
2335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling earn someone a living on: March 06, 2023, 08:02:26 PM
Nope, there are much easier ways to earn a living  Grin
I donno know about everyone else but with my definition of earning a living, I think for someone to a make a living from gambling will be very hard but notwithstanding I have heard stories of some folks who claim they are actually earning and living their life through gambling. But for me I think its very hard to earning a living through gambling if not impossible because the foundation of gambling itself is base on how lucky one can be, so tell me how often do you think or feel someone can get lucky to be actually earning through gambling.
These people who are making a living from gambling are the minority of gamblers, and besides the lucky jackpot winners, we don't know exactly how they are living from gambling. It can be through their accurate predictions on sports betting, or it can be through sponsorship, donations from fans/followers, referrals, or simply by working for gambling companies. So it's really hard to claim someone is relying on gambling for a living when we don't have access to further details of this person's finances.
2336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In the best interest of investors, Bounties shouldn't be paid in Tokens on: March 06, 2023, 04:29:24 PM
Going forward in the best interest of investors and the project itself, hope to see "more" bounties being paid with established coins in this industry.

What do you guys think?
This would be the right approach by developers in order to decrease the number of scam projects on the industry and to encourage bounty hunters to continue working on such projects.

When developers pay hunters in native tokens, it's too easy for them, because they are paying out of thin air, instead of allocating a real sum of money on the project to pay the employees. There is no responsability on it. If the token prices something after all, good, and if not, it will be fine as well...

On the other hand, for bounty hunter it will be a big waste of time, so without any doubts campaigns should be paid in solid cryptocurrencies such as btc or stablecoins.
2337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to surprise a friend on: March 06, 2023, 10:52:59 AM
Lol, 0.03BTC is a very expensive gift we usually don't give our friends. It's the cost of a decent desktop computer or smartphone. I have some doubts OP is talking for real, as it would seem more reasonable if he were talking about surprising his friend with a sum of 0.001BTC or something like that, that is the cost of an interesting shirt which is the most common price range and kind of gift between friends.
2338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why all these crypto-twitter "influencers" are still exist? on: March 05, 2023, 01:47:30 PM
Influencers exist because crypto adopters created them. The audience turned them into influent personalities inside the industry. If people just ignored them, these influencers wouldn't exist.

However, there is a theory that when something has to happen it will happen anyway, by the hands of one person or another. What means that if it wasn't for these individuals in particular, like bitboy, scams would be being efficiently promoted by other influencers and investors would be scammed in every cases. In the end, you can't really avoid something which is pre-determined to happen.
2339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 05, 2023, 12:21:37 PM
For someone who is in urgent need for fiat I think it's not advised to invest in bitcoin, because it's likely you are going to need the money before the maturation time until you can cashout bitcoin with profits. Bitcoin is a long term investment and you may need to wait longer than 2024 to see positive results generated.

On the other hand, if it was possible to ensure this money isn't going to be needed soon, the idea of selling jewelry in order to build a bitcoin portfolio seems perfectly fine and promising from the potential profitability point of view.
2340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 05, 2023, 12:07:27 PM
Even though you have your own casino, you can't gamble on your business, because if you win, it will raise a red flag among customers who will think the house is rigged to favor the business' owner. Therefore, you would still need to gamble in another casinos you aren't partnered with.

But nothing forbids you from making profit running your own casino and using the profit made to gamble in another casinos.
